Juliette grinned, amused at the redhead's terrible skills. And the fact he joined in and noticed it as well. At least she had a name to call him by, although hobo still stuck for her. Her eyes traveled over him it just seemed... fitting. She rolled her eyes at his attempts at flirting. "Mm. Yes. Too bad." Such a shame, really. Her gaze was bewildered at his words. "Are you kidding?" JJ scoffed, glancing around the room hoping the teacher wouldn't get pissy.

Before meeting his eyes with her own. After that whole weird display and Norman Bates story, it was clear he was drama-filled already. "Dramatic seems to be kinda your thing." Giving a small shrug. "And maybe if you changed out of your.. I don't know 'party' clothes or whatever, you wouldn't be terrible looking." Realizing that it might've sounded like she was flirting with him. She couldn't have that now.

"However, the spot for my Romeo is taken. Maybe you'd have a little more luck elsewhere?"

Raven furrowed her brows. "Well.. that's probably why she came back. Because she sucked at what she did." Maybe she was being a little harsh. Whoops. "I simply mean.. if she had that good of a life back in new york. I highly doubt she'd come back for the kids she'd left in the first place. No offense. I'm just trying to think like a egotistical bitch." She thought about it for a second, and realized that she herself. Was probably an egotistical bitch. Oh well. "Sorry, i didn't mean to insult your mom.. although I kinda did. But.." She decided to drop that thing altogether, taking a breath before speaking again. "You can talk to me. Or whatever. I mean.. if you want to." She was trying to say that she was here for him. But.. it wasn't working the way she wanted it to.

Taking the sheets from him. "Anyway, right. Let's figure this music thing out." Raven busied herself with the music. With a few moments of her own silence. "We don't need a lot of instruments though, so it's okay." She cocked her head to one side, thinking to herself. "I mean.. Grease is all about the voices, snapping fingers and what-not. Worse comes to worse we could do acapella."

She shrugged. "It shouldn't take much to make it sound good." She picked up a script that had some of the lyrics on it. She nudged her head towards his guitar, putting the page between them and raising a finger to one of the lines and tapped it. "Simple." Raven took the music sheet and made her way to the piano. Her fingers hovering over the keys, leaning closer to the paper for a second before realizing what to do. Waiting until he started playing before she started herself.

Lila
tumblr_inline_p7ga0wbttD1s3rhhm_500.gif
Lila never really understood what had happened between Ava, Juliette, and her. She hated the fact that they'd split and now seemed to hate eachother to some extent. At least, Jules and Ava did. Lila had tries her damndest to keep them together. They were quite literally her only friends and she wasn't too happy to see them go. But she couldn't really do anything about it at this point. Juliette was so deep into the typical highschool hierarchy and Ava was just too...Ava for them to repair anything. That was what she believed at least. Lila had given up a long time ago and she didn't plan on trying again. But that didn't mean Ava's words didn't hurt. A lot.

Lila practically jerked back like she'd been slapped and quickly leaned down to pick up all her things. She brushed dark hair out of her eyes and straightened herself back up. Her teeth sunk into the inside of her bottom lip to keep herself from letting any other words come out, and also to try and prevent herself from crying. The metallic taste of her own blood washed across her tongue but she didn't bother to let go. Lila knew she had a bit of a problem with talking too much and apologizing for literally everything, but it still made her feel like and incompetent five year old. Ava only made it worse.

"Right." Lila adjusted her jacket and frowned at Ava, "I-I...um...ex-excuse me." She went to move past Ava but stopped just short, turning to look the other girl in the eyes.

"Y-You know that I-I still love you." She turned away, "No matter what." And with that, Lila took off and resumed her walk to class, now considerably less concerned with being late.

June
June felt immediately comforted when Grace spoke. It was nice in a weird way. She could tell herself the same things over and over again, but not think about it. Then, when she hears anyone other than herself say it, it makes her shoulders relax and her heart slow down all at once.

With her calming down now, she launched into explaining practically everything. Ruby and Georgia, and what happened that homecoming night. By the end of it, she wondered if her voice will give out or Grace’s ear might come off. She leaned against the wall and crossed her arms. “Nothing was never nice before any of this. Everyone still had problems, everyone still fought. But, this. This is horrible. And I don’t want to hear that none of it was really my fault. Because it was.” She rubbed her eyes with her arm before dropping it tiredly. “I want to fix my mistakes, but I keep on making more of them. Hell this might be a mistake too.” She said her arms lifting up to the bathroom before dropping again.

Jace
Big Smile.gif

He was glad when she just dropped the whole conversation about his mother. For one, Raven was rather rude about the whole situation -- it was still his mother, and it kind of annoyed him to hear what she said... even if it was completely true. And for two, well, Jace didn't really want to discuss it. He hadn't wanted to discuss it when Raven came up and if he'd known how this would've turned out, well, he would've kept his mouth shut. Or at least tried to.

"I hate acapella." He mumbled. It was true. Jace liked playing the instruments, and singing -- well, kind of singing. Generally just singing to himself or on special occasions, to people he was interested in. Although even then, his singing wavered at best when he first started singing. Jace was just a mess. All the time.

Although he was nervous playing with Raven, he picked up his guitar, and started playing the beginning notes to Summer Lovin. His voice was hesitant at first but as the song moved on, his singing got better, and by the end, Jace was smiling broadly. He'd practiced this song so many times that he didn't even really have to look at the music sheet to know how to play.

Ava
Fake Smile.gif

Why did Lila have to be insufferably polite? All the anger and annoyance that Ava had felt far away, and she watched as Lila started to walk away before she groaned loudly. "Lila, wait," she called after her, and then walked over to her, holding her books in her arms as she fought with herself to return what Lila had said. No matter how much it killed Ava to say it, she finally managed to mumble out the words, "I care about you, too." Ugh. It felt like her throat was burning from those words.

"But things are what they are. So... see you later." She said, considerably less rude to Lila before she turned and headed back in the direction of her class. Even if the feelings had been minute and Ava had barely even spoke, it was enough to make her want to vomit. Anything like this... sweetness... caring... it sickened her.

Charlotte had rolled up to the school and parked in the principal's parking spot. Again she deserved the best parking spot. Her family was the richest and had the most pull. Hell, she could buy the school outright. She walked into school. She had spent the rest of the night partying and dancing and drinking. She had spent the next morning fending off a hangover. She had sworn off drinking for the rest of her life. She wasn't going to drink for at least a few weeks.

She had set her things in her locker and began to wander around. She had done that before where she met Mr.Cowboy. It would be interesting to see who she meet this time. Would it be some cute redhead who would sweep her off her feet? Would it be some bad boy who would take her to a far off place? Who the hell knew, but for now she wandered.

She rolled her eyes smirking before turning around with two hot cups of coffee, she placed them down on the kitchen table before turning around and opening the fridge. She pulled out the creamer placing it down on the table, before gathering supplies to make an omelet."Sugar?" She turned around raising one eyebrow. Not bothering to wait for an answer she pulled some down out of the cabinet and placing it down on the table.

She quickly whipped up an omelet for herself before sitting down at the kitchen table. "Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?" She attempted to avoid his persistence about what was going on with her. Looking down at the table before she looked back up at Mason. Her gaze softened, she knew she couldn't lie to Mason, as much as she didn't want to talk about the fight.

She sighed "I don't know." She was having trouble focusing her own thoughts, she didn't really know how she felt. "I just needed a break." She started to feel herself tense up again. "Mason, that bitch was doing everything she's always done." She looked up at the ceiling before back at Mason. She huffed before she started again.

"It's not about Adriane. Its that I got so angry, I attacked her." She couldn't look Mason in the eyes, she felt horrible for what she did. "I really don't know what came over me, and it scared me. Scared me that I was capable of that." She starred at the floor. "If Ryder hadn't pulled me off..." She trailed off, she didn't want to think about it, the idea of if she hadn't been stopped. If no one had stepped in. Carter looked back up at Mason. "I may hate Adriane..... But I didn't like that person that I became."

He shook his head in response to the sugar question, but she'd already set the sugar on the table. Mason preferred his coffee like he preferred his women: bitter. "Yeah, I'm sure. I'm not hungry." Wow, Carter was really trying hard to avoid this whole conversation, not that he could necessarily blame her. It was like looking in a mirror. These kind of situations were ones that he also always tried to avoid. Anything that had to do with... feelings, or thoughts. Honesty.

Mason listened in silence, his eyes focused on the dark coffee in front of him as he listened to her, seated at the kitchen table and slouched down in his chair per usual. "Yeah, I know." He finally said, quietly. "I know she hasn't changed. But neither have I so... I don't know. I don't feel like I have the right to judge her, or to leave her." Mason was the same person he'd been when Adriane left, but that was unimportant, and he quickly brushed away his feelings about it.

He took a sip of the hot coffee, burning his tongue a little in the process before he continued speaking, his dark amber eyes now focused on Carter in front of him. "But Carter, that's not really you. I mean yes, usually angry people don't try to kill a person, but... that doesn't mean you should dwell on it, you know? It happened. Put it behind you, and try to not be that person again." What a motto, although he felt like none of the words he spoke made sense.

Carter coughed out a laugh when Mason said that neither of them had changed, she almost choked on her omelet. "Mason is that some sort of joke." She was shocked, this boy really was stupider than she ever realized. "Come on Mason, you know that is the farthest thing from the truth." She rolled her eyes leaning back in her chair. Rolling her eyes was basically exercise at this point, considering the amount of times she had rolled her eyes during this entire conversation. "I've known you the longest out of anyone. You're not the same person you were a year ago, you're not the same person you we're a week ago." If he was he wouldn't have been in Carters house drinking coffee right now.

"Mason, you've been the best parent to Ari and Drake. You stepped up, you've grown up faster than anyone else." She crossed her arms, at least she was feeling normal again. She didn't feel like Mason hated her, and her biggest concern of Adriane coming back had been lifted off her shoulder. She still had her best friend. "Adriane is the only one who hasn't changed."

She took a sip of her coffee, remembering she forgot to put sugar and milk in it. "God" She gagged. "Even after all these years I don't know how you drink your coffee like this." Carter smirked as she dumped a spoon full off sugar into her coffee following it with creamer. "Mason the only thing that hasn't changed about you is your lack of taste buds." She held the cup up to her mouth taking a sip of the coffee and closing her eyes.

Maybe Mason was right though, about not dwelling on it but that was easier said than done, as she was sure he knew. She knew this wasn't who she was, and avoiding school wasn't going to make it better. She felt more a peace than she had all weekend, Mason understood her better than she understood herself. She wasn't sure what she would do without him next year.

Grace went next to the sink and propped herself on the counter, listening to the whole thing and multiple stories, that followed after it. She'd never realized or noticed exactly how much she'd went through. It was just a lot.. Grace waited until she was done talking before speaking herself. "No, stop. Why would this be a mistake?" She didn't understand why opening up to someone would be a mistake. It wasn't like she was going to judge her for any of it, but June probably didn't know that. Because they didn't know each-other very well yet. "Maybe.. you should stop trying." It sounded like bad advice, yes. But that's not what Grace meant. "I just mean, you can't fix everything that happened in the past. Even if your determined to. You're pretty headstrong, in a good way." She gave her a weak smile.

In Grace's experience, the more she tries hard enough to fix something the worse it gets. And she tries her hardest for everything to go perfectly, it's who she is. Maybe her and June had more common than she thought. But she'd rather June didn't share that similarity with her. It wasn't a great trait to have, and Grace knew that. "Ruby didn't kill herself because you didn't have words for her. Whatever was going on with her, it was obviously bigger than you. That wasn't your fault. You can't focus on what happened back then. It'll just lead you into a darker path that i'm more than sure you don't want to go down."

Getting off the counter and walking her way over to her. "If you need forgiveness June, I'll give it you." Grace still cared about what people thought, but she was getting better. It shouldn't matter what people thought about her because of who she loved. But the point was, June shouldn't feel like she was drowning because her mistakes were holding her down. "I forgive you. And.. I don't know Ruby, but if she was here I know she'd forgive you too. You won't believe me, but you're a good person, June."

"You said it yourself. I don't lie to you. And I'm headstrong too, you won't change my mind about it."

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't knock acapella until you try it. Okay?" Raven slowly but surely remembered how to play again, missing a few keys here and there, but as the song continued she learned to almost perfect it. and.. nostalgia hit her. It was like she was back home. When it actually felt like a home, and when she wasn't as alone as she truly felt. Sure, she had Nancy. But her grandmother wasn't the same anymore, it was almost as close as living alone.

She shook her head as her gaze went from the music sheet and the lyrics. Remembering the way it felt whenever she was praised for her efforts, even if Raven wasn't as great at piano as Abuela wanted her to be. Who slowly began to understand that music and Raven didn't mix. She genuinely smiled as she started singing with Jace. It wasn't bad.. they kinda sounded good. Maybe she'll actually watch Grease later, she knew her grandmother would've liked it too. So why not? Sometimes she got her name mixed up with her mother's but.. it was okay.

Raven didn't mind that much. She sighed when the song came to an end. "See.. we can do a lot with what we have." She shrugged. "We should've been the leads of the play, you're a natural Danny Zuko." She smiled. "Although, I'm probably the hotter Sandy by the end. When she turns all badass and stuff." She chuckled.

Silence came over them again. Raven opened her mouth to say something, and closed it. "We're friends, right?" They.. had to be. Right? It was weird how she'd never been as vulnerable with anyone else, It seemed like he knew more about her than she knew herself, and if.. they were friends. Well. It wouldn't be all that bad. Realizing she sounded like a total dumbass. "Uh.. nevermind. Forget I said anything." Raven turned her attention back to the piano, Jace didn't seem to care if she was confident or cocky as much as everyone else did. She could be a total nerd and probably not even get a reaction out of him. Some people would probably compare Jace to talking to a blank wall. But.. this wall gave her some good advice whenever she needed it.

Oliver
oli.gif

He had opted to not attend the Halloween-Birthday party hosted by the Vaughns. Oliver had met Chase before, being in one of his classes, but didn't really talk to the dude and his more athletic friends or siblings. Instead, Oli was often prowling the campus and areas not too far from it with a camera that was starting to get a little old, but gave his photos a beautiful grainy quality that made his photography unique. He thanked Vienna, knowing she wouldn't mind him using her things. She would have wanted him to go that party, to document memories and make more friends, but Oliver just had no energy to spend on being fake happy and entertaining people with his humor that weekend. Besides, he got extremely stressed around drinking teens ever since his sister's life had been taken by a car full of inebriated high schoolers. Not everyone was irresponsible like that, but Oliver had a problem trusting people.

Today, he twirled a thin, wooden drumstick between his middle and ring finger as he walked to the music room. The film from his camera was currently being developed in his bathroom, and he hadn't hit a snare in what felt like ages despite it only being two days. His naturally energetic nature could be reason for his knack for drumming; it was a good way to let out whatever was bothering him and any pent up energy. The other stick smacked against his leg as he matched the beat with the music that blasted through his headphones. He had a few friends he could socialize with, but Oli liked to keep to himself by leaving in earbuds and ignoring actual reality. It was easier that way.

Eventually, Oliver found himself at the door to the music room, pushing it open without pause. Surprised to find somewhat unfamiliar people inside, he stopped as the door swung closed behind. He pulled out a headphone and held both wooden sticks in his hand, not quite sure what to say. If he was interrupting, Oliver felt bad only because he didn't plan on leaving to give them privacy. No one would stand between him and his therapy. But he wasn't upset or mad or annoyed, just surprised. "Ah, sorry if I'm interrupting anything. I can go back to Dave Grohl, if you want." Oliver grinned, amused with himself as he gave his earbud a slight wiggle. To be fair, the boy was basically deaf when he was listening to his music.

June
She watched Grace quietly as she talked. Somehow, she seemed way different then when they first met. She remembered when June was mad at her for keeping being lesbian a secret. But now, she seemed to change so much. And June was the one who didn’t care. Her head was so wrapped up in Mason and Raven and Ruby and Georgia. She never even tried to notice.

She bit her lip when Grace told her she was headstrong. She had to will herself not to smile at the thought. Maybe she was. She wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing however. Then, she broke into a smile as Grace finished. “God.” She covered her face as she cried a little bit. “You are crazy. But, thank you.” She said dropping her arms and quickly wrapping Grace up in a hug. “I’ve always wanted a sister. I never imagined I would get such a good one.” This was nice. The warm fuzzy feeling she thought was gone. It had made its way back slowly, but surely through Stu, Alaska, and Grace. It was slowly coming back.

He was a little surprised to hear what Carter said and at the same time he was, well, thankful. It was weird to hear someone say that he had approved when it felt like Mason was still living under the heavy blanket of his old reputation. Selfish dick who played the field, and didn't care about anyone but himself. And yes, there was some truth to that but still, Mason had tried. He had tried to better himself, but it was hard when it felt like the world was constantly against him.

Mason was so surprised, in fact, that he wasn't even sure how to respond. Finally, all he managed to say was "Thanks," and then took another sip of his coffee. He hadn't come here expecting to feel things, and well, this sucked. A week or two ago, Mason wouldn't have been caught dead having this conversation. But after what happened with June, and now with Adriane, Mason felt broken and like he didn't even know who he was anymore, or how to pick himself up.

"What can I say? I hate anything sweet." It was true, and it had worked out well growing up. Drake had been a lover of candy and anything sweet, so Mason had always given Drake whatever candy or cookies he managed to get. The only candy he was willing to eat was sour things, and that's where he drew the line.

"Alright, this is too touchy-feely. So what the fuck was going on with you and Alaska? Adriane said she saw you two making out before... well... you know..." Yeah, he wanted to know. Not because he was, like, jealous or anything about Carter kissing Alaska. Just because they were friends, and he was curious.

Jace
Neck Rub.gif

"You're really good." Jace told her. Better than Stu was, at least, but that was beside the point. He carefully set his guitar down on top of the music sheets. Even just those few minutes of music playing had left Jace feeling less stressed out, and more relaxed. Even if his love of music had been shoved down his throat by his mother all those years ago, it was still his only salvation in this world. The one thing that he felt comfortable doing, the one thing he was decent at.

"I don't sing, though." He said, laughing when she suggested them being the leads. The very idea was just insane to him. "And I think you make a better Rizzo than a Sandy. Plus do you really want all the screen time that Sandy gets?" The very idea made Jace sick to think about. That's why he wasn't doing any of the acting... plus, well, Jace was a terrible actor. No amount of acting classes had made him any good. "And like, I suck at acting. Freeze up on the stage. Ash is really good, though. Our mom was so happy and used to take her to beauty pageants all the time because she was such a natural." Yes, Jace had a lot of respect for his little sister. And also a lot of jealousy. Ash was everything that their mother had wanted, and Jace just wished he had a little bit of her skill. Or, at least, a little bit of her confidence.

Raven's question threw Jace for a loop and he looked at her, head tilted slightly to the side as he considered the question, and then shrugged. "I'd say so. I wouldn't share half the things with not friends that I've shared with you." And he didn't stutter around her. Strange to think that he'd been scared of her.

And then his attention turned to the door as some guy that Jace didn't really recognize walked in. "Oh... ah... no... like... no... y-you don't have t-to... uh..." his eyes turned towards Raven, begging her for help. Well, one thing that was consistent about Jace was his stuttering whenever someone he didn't know came up. Nervously, his hands found that cursed yellow beanie, and he found himself pulling it down farther on his head until his hair was covered completely.

She gave June a small smile back. Laughing a little at the crazy part, deciding to take it as a compliment. Almost shocked at the hug but returned it immediately. Yeah, she was definitely okay with a sister. Ash was the closest thing she had to one, but suddenly she wasn't so sure. Who said you couldn't have more than one? "You're not too bad yourself." She teased, releasing her from the hug. It was really nice to have someone else besides Ash or Sawyer, whom she loved, deeply.

But the fact that she was getting closer to the girl she'd thought who was just a stranger living in her home, it felt surreal and good at the same time. "So.. we kinda missed the bell like 30 minutes ago.." She chuckled. "Should probably get going.." Grace tilted her head towards the door. "But maybe we'll hang out later and.. go see a movie or something." She shrugged. Might be fun to hang out together and preferably not in a bathroom.

Raven laughed. "..If you don't sing what do you call that whole thing just now? you're good. Own. It." What was with the Wests and confidence? Why weren't they proud of what they were good at? Even though she hasn't seen Ash's talent yet, she was sure she was good at what she did. Raven gave him a bewildered look. "Who wouldn't want to see me with all that screen-time." She teased, but nodded. "I agree. Rizzo was always my favorite." Shrugging. "Eh.. I'm sure you're not that bad." He didn't seem like the type to act at all, considering how shy he gets. But she wasn't going to agree that he probably sucked at it. Who knows? Maybe he's decent.

Raven raised her eyebrows in surprise when he'd actually answered the question she told him to forget about. Holding back a smile at his answer, she opened her mouth to reply when someone who wasn't Jace spoke, she turned to see the boy in the doorway. Looking between the two when Jace freaked the hell out. Deciding to step in when she made eye-contact with Jace. Turning to the stranger with a charming smile. "Nope, not ruining anything. Make yourself at home." Giving a look to Jace, that basically said. 'Chill the fuck out man.' Waiting a few moments in silence before deciding to introduce herself to the boy, "I'm Raven." looking over to Jace, and she realized maybe she should help with that too. "That's Jace." Tilting her head towards the beanie boy.

"You got a name, or should we just call you the next David Grohl?" Grinning all the while. Raven loved meeting new people, just because she didn't have many friends didn't mean she wasn't good with people, everyone who knew Raven knew that she needed to socialize to function.

So far Murder Monday had been remarkably blood free for Jace. Of course it was, the only drama that ever hit him was the splatter from someone else's bad day. Even considering that, though, he hadn't seen anything close to the storm that followed Homecoming. Hopefully it would stay that way. There was certainly a little bit of tension just under the surface, with the fists of Carter and Chase having seen action. The consequences of that hadn't been apparent to Jace as he strode through Westbrook's halls that morning, however. If anything was going wrong, it was doing so without his knowledge. Such as what may have lurked behind a Twitter post made by the football team's only remaining ace.

The many concerns left by House Vaughn's liquor infested party had faded from his mind by the time Zach collapsed into the seat next to him, however. It wasn't really that much of a worry to him after all. Westbrook's cheery phantom wouldn't catch any fire for whatever drunken mistakes took place in the dark shadows of that fell residence. Perhaps the closest thing he had to a real apprehension was whether or not Ash fell victim to the bloodthirsty morning. She was the reason the last party's drama managed to get to him. First with the heartless slutshaming of Alaska, then with the rumors that personally targeted not only Ash but also her best friend. The last thing he wanted was a repeat of that seeping into their cooperation on the history project. The project that he may or may not have contributed very little to, favoring conversation with the cheerleader in question.

Jace doubted that such drama had happened though. As far as he'd seen, the girl seemed to have happily spent the night with her boyfriend. The birthday boy Ryder himself. She'd looked like she was having fun. It was a reassuring thought on the subject of something going wrong, even if the surrounding context made him woefully jealous.

So no reason to worry, right? Everything was as fine as it could be on a November Monday morning. Jace had woken up full of energy, there was nary a rumor of catastrophe, and it seemed that TheName00N's post-party prophecy would stand unfulfilled.

By the time Zach collapsed into the seat next to him, Jace's mind was already off somewhere else. Off anywhere that wasn't a rehash of the same so called 'classic' of literature that had haunted him since middle school. When would underpaid teachers finally figure out that droning on about the same boring subject year after year would never make it interesting? Honestly, to think he'd accused himself of faux insanity a few days ago. It seemed like the education system was full of people who did the same thing again and again, expecting to somehow achieve a different result. Needless to say, Jace wasn't interested in relearning what he'd already been taught, so his focus was turned back towards that game he'd been playing. Reflecting on the recent failure that had brought his run to an unceremonious end.

He did occasionally zone back in when the teacher brought up something he hadn't heard before, or when something happening in class caught his eye. Such as when the football player was so rudely forced to pay attention. Jace's icy blue eyes shifted over to watch the other, older boy, studying him for a few seconds. He looked tired. Granted everyone looked tired, it was a Monday morning after all. Zach looked more tired though.

Remembering the tweet he'd seen pop onto his feed earlier, Jace decided to pursue his curiosity, putting his pencil to work for the first time since Friday. He scribbled a small question onto the top line of his untouched notebook page before carefully ripping it out, folding it as quietly as possible into a more manageable size. When the teacher wasn't looking he proceeded to chuck his note across the chasm of boring floor that stood between him and Zach, getting it right onto the target desk. Jace may not have been the most accurate with a football, nor did he have the arm to lob one sixty yards downfield, but years of practice in dull classes had made him damn good at putting small wads of paper exactly where he wanted them.

Once the message had reached its target, Jace turned his gaze back to the board, though his mind remained on the student next to him. Waiting to see if the little paper piece would return to him.

"Rough Morning?" The note would read if opened, scrawled in flowing yet sloppy handwriting. A relic of a time when Jace had decided to spend his sixth grade English class trying to make his handwriting look nicer. He was only partially successful, losing interest before he had fully trained his hand. What resulted was a deceptively elegant script that didn't look nearly as graceful upon actually trying to read it. One of his less satisfying ventures, and one that he planned to fix one day. Probably.

Scarlet

Spending the weekend with Mads had been exactly what she needed. After joining families with Jamie, it seemed the step-siblings were keeping their distance from everyone - each other and the 'parents' of the family. She hadn't told Mads about the new half of her family due to the fact that she wasn't necessarily all that great at talking about herself. It made her uncomfortable, letting people know what was on her mind or what could be paining her emotionally. It was the only privacy she actually had. Instead, she baked and experimented with new recipes to ignore her feelings. So, in the free-time she had at home without Madison's company, Scarlet made two dozen cookies, a cake, and a dozen cupcakes. She left them, covered, in the kitchen for the rest of the family to eat since she knew they would find and eat them all without asking anyway. The lemon-lavender cookies were probably the best she'd made, so she brought a few to school that Monday, needing a second opinion from her taste-tester. She didn't feel like asking her new step-family or so-called mother how they were, though she got an idea of their opinion when Scarlet discovered that most were gone within 24 hours. Good thing she had saved some.

It was cold that day, so she wore a beanie and sniffled against the chill until she managed to make it inside. It was sudden, but Ash rushed passed her, seemingly on a mission. Scarlet blinked in surprise and opted to ask the girl how she was a little later. For some reason, she had a feeling she would find out what was wrong by the end of the day. Would there be another fight? Hazel eyes scanned the halls full of wandering students before a tall boy with golden hair caught her eyes, like he always managed to. She grinned and bobbed through the stream of students that separated them before coming to a stop right in front of Mads. He was typing a message on his phone, having missed her approach. "Hey," she greeted, tone soft in an attempt to not scare him if he was still unaware of her presence. "Happy Monday, I brought you my newest creation." Scarlet pulled out a baggie from her backpack and displayed the powdered sugared disk that looked akin to a full moon in the sky. "If you don't like lemon, though, then you probably won't like it." She paused and gave a small frown, concerned. "Do you know why Ash seemed to be upset just a few minutes ago?" Ash had also been quick to accept her, and though they didn't talk on the regular, Scarlet still cared whether the blonde girl was upset over something.

Rowan
rotallk.gif

She did a lot of business over the weekend, but surprisingly still made time to make her music with the set-up she managed to afford over her younger years. After being thrown into juvie, Rowan had been forced take a break from the smooth, alternative sounds and beats she would make whilst high out of her mind in the purple glow of her room at night. Now that she had been released, Ro was able to get back to one of the only places she found peace in. Monday rolled around far too quickly, and the girl was far too tempted to skip out on the usual chaotic Westbrook Monday, but didn't since she had some business to do at school. If she wanted to get a new mic, she was going to need to sell more and get ready for her strange new group's plan. If she was lucky, she would have enough for a new mic and soundboard. But Rowan wasn't one to keep high expectations and even higher hopes. She had been let down far too much in her life already to even be capable of simplistic wishful thinking.

Ro wandered into the school without being all that set on where she was going. Her first class of the day was math, but it was always far too early to crunch numbers, and she did excellent on the tests anyways. No, she would not be going to that class today. The girl was good with numbers, anyway. Suddenly, familiar faces came into view, and usually Rowan would be wary and choose not to approach. Today, she was in a particularly better mood than usual. She blamed it on her excessive focus on making music over the weekend; the amber-eyed girl had been able to release some pent up stress through that. "Morning, Maisie. Hajar." She nodded to each in turn with her hands tucked into her dark green sweatshirt pockets. A ghost of a smile hovered across her lips, which was much more than what she usually gave people.

She just started laughing. "Come on.." She shook her head, "Are you seriously the only one allowed to have a little fun." Carter bit her lower lip for a moment. "Alaska is just a friend, we were just having some drunk fun." She raised an eyebrow at him, "Did Adriane tell you her make-out partner for the night?" She tapped her fingers on the table. She really didn't mean to bring the fight back up. "Never mind, forget I said that." She put her hands in her lap. "Anyways, should you really be talking? You had some fun with the same Vaughn yourself." She chuckled at the thought. On the bright side it was good that Alaska and her had been interrupted however, they could of really ruined a start of a great friendship if things had gone any further.

"I'm pretty sure she said I was the better kisser though." She winked at Mason and started laughing, flipping her hair over her shoulder. She turned to the side in her chair standing up and taking her plate over to the sink to clean off. "Alright" She dried her hands off before turning back to him. And leaning against the counter. "So what are we going to do the rest of the day?"

Zach

Zach was already having a rough day between Coach, O'Dywer, Ava, he wasn't in the talking mood. He didn't even notice the kid siting next to him when he had rushed into class. He saw a wad of paper fly by his hand and land on the desk next to the note pad he had been doodling in since he was asked to pay attention. He leaned back freeing up the hand that had been phyically holding up his head. He turned the way that the paper had come from, furrowing his eyebrows at the kid next to him. He knew he recognized him, he was the kid that always wore red gloves. And didn't seem to hang around others often. 'Jace... Yea I think that's it..'

Jace the one that wasn't always in the music room, unrelated to Ash. "What the hell??" He whispered, before seeing a few letters on the side of the paper. He raised his eyebrows looking at the kid, 'Okay then...' He started to unfold it reading the note he had passed him. He tapped his pen on the the desk before writing back. 'What, are we in 5th grade' He scrawled back to him, before crumpling it back up and tossing it onto Jace's desk while the teachers back was turned.

Madison was so stuck in his own head, trying to piece everything together he didn't see Scar walk up. The second he heard her voice he felt a lot more brighter, and focused. "Hey" He smiled leaning down he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, knowing she wasn't huge for PDA but he couldn't help himself. "You're the sweetest." He took a cookie from the baggy taking a bite. "No I was wrong." His mouth still full of cookie. "These are the sweetest." He swallowed the cookie before he started talking again. "These are amazing, you really have a gift." His smirk grew.

Till she mentioned Ash, and his face dropped. "Honestly I don't know, Grace, you remember her, blonde short, you met her at Bryan's party with her girlfriend Sawyer." He started getting off track, and tried to straighten out his thoughts again. "Well I guess she told Ash that Grace saw Ryder with another girl at the party..." He raised his eyebrows. "But I remember him with us most of the night, except for the very end, when everyone was leaving and we were sobering up..." He looked towards where Ash had run off to, before looking back at Scar. How did he get so lucky that both of them had moved to town around the same time, and she had walked into that party and up to him. It was great that they had eachother to do the new kid thing with.

Oliver

He was surprised by the greeting he received, but didn't say anything. Oliver's aunt had a stutter even around family, so the sound of Jace fumbling with his words didn't annoy him or leave him concerned for the guy. His light brown eyes shifted to the girl who opted to introduce herself and her friend. Oli gave a small nod and pulled out his other ear phone, letting them each drape over his shoulder despite the sound of music still blasting through them. "Raven. Sounds mysterious," He grinned and walked to the other side of the room where a corner held a somewhat soundproof soundbox that just barely fit a drum kit within. Pieces of the kit were strewn around the room as people tended to use one piece rather than the whole set just to practice basic percussion. Oliver began gathering each drum and cymbal as he spoke. "And Jace." Oliver paused with a drum in him arms, looking the boy over with a lopsided grin. "I like the beanie. Yellow is the best." The young man gave a conclusive nod before placing the last drum in the soundbox in its correct position.

Oli laughed and squeezed out of the box. Clever reference. Picking a random chair and dragging it so he could sit amongst the two. "I wish, although he's the master. You can just call me Oliver. Nice to meet the two of you." The boy rolled his two drum sticks between his hands as he spoke before leaning back into the chair. "You play guitar?" Oliver motioned to the guitar that sat in Jace's lap. "Might be a dumb question, but I'm not one to assume things about people."

"I don't think you get it babe." Ethan glanced over at her, "I pull girls in like worm on a hook, they can never ever get enough of me. I don't need to change a lot of things and these clothes?" He looked down at them and waved his hand, "I hit the whiskey and coke to hard last night before I came here." The weekend really was a blur, where the hell had he actually been and what the hell had he been doing. Little memories surged forward, a fight followed by a kiss followed by loud music that rumbled through his body and made his bones shudder and shake. His heart was racing when he finally back to where he was, his fingers stretched out to grasp the pencil tightly as he pressed it back to the paper. He continued to draw and scrawl the picture, "I'm sure he's a wonderful Romeo considering he hasn't poisoned himself and you haven't stabbed yourself in the gut to be with him in the sweet embrace of death.. but he doesn't seem fun." Ethan grinned a little looking back over at her, "So stable and calm, like a rock in the storm but I have a feeling Juliette," He turned a little in seat and faced her, "You like crazy and fire, calm just doesn't seem your style."

~ Hajar Giles ~

"Hey." Hajar smiled in a lopsided way and nodded her head, opening her mouth to say something when her phone began to rumble in her pocket, "Gimme a second, gotta take this.." She sighed softly and frowned, the serious hardness returned to her face as she tugged the phone out of her jacket pocket. She wandered a few steps away from the pair and pressed the phone into her ear, listening and speaking softly so that no one would catch her words.

For acting like a hard ass all the time, Raven was really sweet. It was a little off-putting, but it was nice to have his new friend be so supportive of him and say that he was doing good. And that he could actually sing. Yes, Jace had practiced for years and liked to think that he was decent, but there were always things that one could improve upon. And for Jace, he had been pretty positive that he could improve upon everything. But hey, he'd take the compliment.

And even though he was beaming from the compliment, the new kid kind of ruined it for him. Not that Jace didn't like the new kid or whatever, but his awkward tendencies made this whole situation about a thousand times worse. He introduced himself as Oliver, and Jace was grateful that Raven introduced him. And then this kid was talking to him, and Jace was tugging at his beanie again, until Oliver complimented it, and then his hands fell away to his sides.

"Oh, uh... thanks. I like yellow, too." Ouch. Awkward. Jace cleared his throat, trying to push down his nerves but gosh dang it, he was a nervous human being. And then Oliver was a savior, and mentioned the guitar, and some of his anxiety fell away. "Oh! Uh, yeah, a little bit." Okay, a little bit was an understatement. Jace's fingers were calloused from how much he'd played over the years. "You play the drums?" He asked. Yes, Jace had a drum kit, but he sucked at playing the drums and had given up. Now, it just sat in his room and gathered dust. "Do you, uh... do you play anything else?"

Was he socializing right?

No, he wasn't hurt by the whole Adriane making out with a random dude thing. They weren't technically together, they were just... fooling around right now, and trying to figure out where they stood. "Yeah. Well, she didn't actually know his name, but I guess it was someone from the football team, or so she thinks." Mason shrugged. "Don't worry about it. It's whatever. But, I mean... Adriane and I aren't together right now. We're just... talking." He wanted to make that clear, that him and Adriane weren't a thing. Not officially, anyway, and Mason wasn't sure it would ever be official. It was confusing.

"I know." It was weird to Mason to think that him and Carter had made out with the same girl... okay, so Mason had done a little more than just make out, but that was beside the point. He rolled his eyes at Carter's kissing comment. "Please." He scoffed. "If you kissed me, you would know that was a lie. I am a pro." Alright, so Mason did like to think he was a decent kisser. He'd kissed enough girls at this point that, well, shouldn't he be? Was that how it worked?

"I have no idea. All I planned for was showing up here and telling you to stop feeling sorry for yourself."

He wanted to go home.

The high hadn't done much to actually improve Drake's mood and instead, it felt like he was just on higher alert. His heart was pumping faster, his fingers were twitching more, and every little noise that happened around him made him jump. He couldn't focus. He couldn't think. All that he knew was that he wanted to go home, crawl under his bed, and wait until this horrible feeling passed. Of course, instead, he had to be stuck at school, feeling horrible.

And while he was walking along with his mind elsewhere, Drake ended up walking straight into some girl that he'd never met. He wasn't sure how to react, and normally, he'd be cheerful and apologetic and start talking up a storm. But today, all Drake could really manage to say was "Sorry," in a quiet voice.

Juliette rolled her eyes in exasperation, how could he have that big of an ego and yet have nothing to show for it? He wasn't ruggedly handsome, he was just.. straight up dirty, and not in the good way. And his personality was a little creepy if she was being honest. Juliette just wasn't seeing the catch to him. "It's funny to me that you think 'hitting the coke too hard' is something to brag about." Furrowing her eyebrows, and keeping her arms crossed while he continued. He was so intent on insulting Bryan when he couldn't see the very obvious flaws about himself. "Well.. maybe your feeling was wrong." Spitting out a hurried reply, not having time to come up with a witty answer to that. And frankly, she didn't like him trying to figure her out.

Even if she was trying to do the same thing with him. "And I prefer JJ." Juliette hated when anyone said her actual name, she'd gotten the nickname from Lexi once she'd joined the cheerleading squad about a year ago, It was interesting to her that the blonde come back already started to stir up drama. Hm. It was almost gratifying. She'd always looked up to Lexi, really. The blonde was the type of person to get what she wants, granted sometimes she was bitch, even to JJ. But bitches get things done. No? "By the by, The only words I'd use to compare you to a worm on a hook.." Her eyes trailed over him slowly, before turning away with a disgusted look. "Is gross and slimy." Looking back to the class behind her which was suddenly more interesting than talking to the hobo. "Now, if you'll excuse me. I'm done here." Instead of actually going back to the class, Juliette just walked out. She didn't care about the repercussions of it. Like she'd actually have any, ha. Being the mayor's daughter had it's own perks. Jerald Jameson was a very generous donator to the school his own daughter went to. Surely the school wouldn't want to jeopardize that particular partnership.

Maisie turned to Rowan when she'd came up, giving her the smallest of smiles in greeting. "Hi. I mean.. morning." They hadn't talked much since that whole.. robbing thing. Even though Hajar had forgiven her for bailing, but she still wasn't sure were she stood with Rowan. She was perfectly fine with Hajar keeping the conversation up, unfortunately that didn't go as planned. When Hajar stepped away to answer her phone. Maisie put the lollipop in her mouth to keep her from saying anything weird, instead avoiding her gaze from Rowan's. Curious eyes watching every person that passed by, once a few moments passed, Maisie's guilt just grew. Quickly removing the lollipop that she should honestly throw away at this point. Sugar wasn't helping her at all. And daring to look towards her. "I'm really sorry."

Not even sparing a second for Rowan to answer. "I kind of went trick or treating instead of keeping a lookout with you." Wow. Okay. Nice job. She shook her head, and continued to ramble. "I wasn't like Ignoring you or something, because i would never. You're really awesome and a good lookout partner, no. That's not--" Taking a much needed breath. "I just mean.. I won't let you down next time." Nope, no matter how much candy she gets. She'll make it up to her.

She grinned, "Good." She was perfectly fine with being mysterious, Raven was fairly private, at least she tried to be. No-one really needed to her know her that well anyway. Besides.. She could be herself with her new friend. Giving a thumbs up at Oliver's introduction, cute. She couldn't help but smile at the awkwardness between the two. Raising an eyebrow. "No, no. Don't listen to him. He plays more than just a little bit.." Raven thought for a moment. "Hmm.. just think about him as our.. very own Kurt Cobain." She chuckled. Staying fairly quiet as she watched the two interact.

She let her mind wander, suddenly remembering that she was supposed to start on an article today. Her computer officially broke at home, so if she was really serious about this whole.. scholarship thing. Raven knew she at least at to try. "Okay, I actually have to go.." Shooting a look towards Jace, hopefully he wouldn't unfriend her already for leaving him with a total stranger. She started to back out of the room. "But! the musical we're working on needs more musicians." Pointing a finger to Oliver. "Think about it David, me and my beautiful voice can't carry the whole play." She teased.

Despite thinking she had eyes in the back of her head, it was clear she didn't. Once she actually turned herself around she found herself colliding with someone, putting her hands on the person's shoulders to steady them and herself. Her smile faded immediately, realizing who the person was. remembering the conversation the redhead and her had. She'd made it very clear that she didn't want to see Raven again. "Uh... sorry M-" She cut her sentence short. Not wanting to be reminded of the nickname. It was just a habit to her by now, Clearing her throat she tried again. "Sorry, June." Releasing her hands from her shoulders, turning to move away before getting a glance at her face and her eyes softened. Was she crying? Raven heard a voice in her head that told her not to get involved this time. "Are you okay?" And of course. Raven was stubborn as always.

Ava
Balloons.gif

Now, she wasn't typically one to skip class. But Ava's deep, strong hatred for history just so happened to be stronger than her need to be a decent student. So halfway through class while she was sitting there, struggling to not sleep, Ava raised her hand, announced that she had girl problems and needed to call home, and the old teacher didn't want any of that, so he'd sent Ava out on her way. Score. Although... now, well, she didn't have anything to do until her next class.

With backpack on, Ava had taken to wandering the halls. Thankfully since she'd always been a decent non-troublemaker (arguing and bullying didn't count -- she didn't get suspended, or detention, etc.) meant that most teachers just looked the other way and didn't question her. But, well, wandering was boring. So Ava wished for something to fall on her to give her something to do. Something to distract her from the weird morning with Zach, and then Lila.

And then as she rounded a corner, she came face to face with Juliette. Okay... so not exactly what she had planned, but it was something... kind of. "Jules," Ava greeted with a cold smile. "Skipping class as usual, I see. Do you plan on graduating, or are you just going to fuck your way into success? Be some housewife?"

Juliette was perfectly fine wandering the halls on her phone, contemplating if she should leave school altogether, it wasn’t like she was desperately needed here anyway. She’d come back obviously, maybe just with a iced coffee.. Rounding the corner and coming face-to-face with the red-haired demon herself. Usually it takes more than a few minutes with Juliette when someone tries to piss her off, but with Ava it was always on sight. Narrowing her eyes at her from the old nickname she dispised. Putting a fake smile on her face which only faltered slightly. As she continued.

“I don’t have to fuck my way into success, I’m already successful. Although.. the fucking is a good perk. Not that you’d know anyway..” How did she always think she was better than her.. Ava? Out of all people? Mmhm. Sure. “Funny how you’re supposed to be in class now too, no? Can’t say I’m surprised. You always attempted to copy me.” The brunette crossed her arms, and shrugged uncaringly.

Unsure why young JJ was so set on being friends with her in the first place. “Sorry to break the news to you, but one can’t imitate perfection. Should give you props, though.” JJ put her hands together to give her the smallest applause. “Bravo you’ve tried.”

Damn this stupid girl and her sass. But hey, Ava had asked for entertainment, and nothing was more entertaining than trying to get under her ex-friend's skin. Sometimes, she wanted to go back and slap little her and ask why she thought that being friends with Juliette was a good idea. Stupid ballerina classes that her parents had put her in. Either way, Ava was better off now without this girl or Lila dragging her down, and without all the girly stuff from before.

"Bitch, please. People have been skipping classes since before your little bastard self was conceived." Okay, okay, so Ava really had no idea what she was doing. She was only good at sassing or arguing for short periods before she just got lost for words. Jules, however, was skilled in the art of sass, which killed her.

"Right, because I totally envy how everyone hates you and I totally want a dumb jock for a boyfriend who tries to cheat on me whenever I have my back turned. Right." Hey, Ava knew exactly what Bryan did, and it pissed her off even more that Juliette had decided to date him. Of all the dumb jocks, it had to be him?

Yes, Ava was getting under her skin. Was it what Ava wanted? Yes. Was it what JJ wanted? No. Juliette couldn’t of rolled her eyes any harder at the redhead’s attempt of a come back. “God, you’re such a whiny bitch.” Juliette scoffed in disbelief. Everything about her pissed her off, why couldn’t Ava just shut her mouth? It’s like she couldn’t ever not complain about anything.

Her eyes softened when she continued. Bryan didn’t cheat on her, and he never attempted to... right? Her posture relaxed, seemingly not as defensive as she was before. “Bryan doesn’t cheat on me.” JJ stated. Although it was more of a mumble, quickly regaining her composure, and her glare returning.

“Just for your information, the only person who hates me, is you. Don’t worry, the feeling’s mutual. And I’m not surprised you got that mixed up with ‘everyone’ because the only person you even care about is yourself.” It was all a blur to her, why they stopped being friends in the first place. What even happened? Oh. Right. Ava happened. Lila wasn’t at fault for their relationship falling apart. It was Ava’s fault. Always was. That’s what Juliette believed anyway.
