As if this day couldn't get any worse. Second day of school, the last thing she wanted was to have to talk to someone. If this was a cartoon you would of seen steam coming out of her ears. "UGH" The pink and purple drink covered her book, her jeans, her sweatshirt. She pulled off the sweatshirt and turned it inside out. The librarian gave her a stern 'SHH' after her extremely audibly sigh. She could see the fear in the cluxz's eyes when the librarian and the other boy looked their way. She shoved the soaked sweatshirt into her bag. And just looked like she gave up, throwing her book on to the table and staring at her pants that were now stained.

June
She smiled slightly. “Then I can’t wait.” She said before the two went their separate ways once more. She wasn’t sure how to take her kindness. It was unfamiliar to her somewhat, or maybe it’s the thought of not deserving such kindness after the blogs. Probably the latter.

She sighed as she opened her locker, feeling sluggish as she tapped a finger on a book then snapping back to focus as she realized her mind was drifting off. “What’s wrong with me...?” She mumbled, slamming the locker and walking down the hall until she saw someone with a cowboy hat on. She instantly knew it was Shiloh and bit her lip. She quickly walked besides him and tapped his shoulder. “Sorry, hi! It’s June.” She said unsure if he remembered her. “Um, do you mind if I ask you something?” She started, also unsure if he even wanted to talk to her.

"Eh I have a nickname, if someone doesn't I feel the need to give one." He thought about the football observation for a moment. "Football, really.. I just don't see the point to loosing brain cells just to stop someone from scoring points." He laughed at her unenthusiastic cheerleader impression. "Aren't cheerleaders supposed to be enthusiastic? I met one of the cheerleaders yesterday, her name is Ash, I should introduce the two of you!! Meet some of the people you'll be cheering with."

Alaska

original.gif

While Alaska wasn't exactly a happy-go-lucky person, she was in a rather bad mood, even for her. Not only was Ryder suspended, but Drake was so busy with homecoming that she had't seen him outside of school for almost a week. The brunette was lonely, even if her brother's were constantly annoying her. She'd talk to practically anyone at this point.

She walked into Economics just before the bell rang, taking her usual seat and paying attention for roughly two minutes before deciding the girl beside her was more interesting. It was hard to miss the red-head, not only was her hair vibrant but she was almost always giving someone a witty remark in class and she seemed to be at every party Alaska had managed to find the time to go to. The brunette wondered why she'd never really interacted with her before, from what she could tell they were very similar. Maybe they'd get along well. Or maybe they'd try to kill each other five minutes into their first conversation.

"Hey, you're the girl who almost finished an entire keg at Nate's last weekend, right?" She asked, remembering through her drunken memories where else she'd seen her. It was a rather impressive feat, especially for a girl of her stature. While sports kept her from drinking a lot, she still enjoyed a good party every once in a while.

She smirked looking down at her paper. "Unfortunately, that would be me." She laughed under her breath and looked up at the ceiling before looking over at Alaska, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "God, that was a killer hangover." She thought for a moment trying to remember what she could from that weekend. "God who did I, oh right, Chloe" She realized she was talking to stranger, even though she knew Alaska she didn't KNOW her. "Sorry... I tend to overshare without thinking.. It was a fun party that's for sure!" She bit her lip thinking about her adventures. "You're Alaska right?" She kept writing down notes while talking, she happened to be extremely good at multitasking.

It was kind of sweet that the boy took time to nickname complete strangers. He has his heart in a good place. Amanda was suprised by his response. He had some motive in the academic field rather than just focusing on sports."Smart thinking." She tapped her head with her finger. A small percentage of basketball players have had brain related injuries. Football? That's another case. "A broken leg is better than being brain dead" She added with amused smile.
"I'm kind of being forced to be one. I'm not big fan of shaking pom poms and doing acrobatics for a couple of boys..or girls." She replied. Not to mention she had to wear the flimsy uniform. Amanda pushed back the strands of hair away from her eye, biting her lip slightly. She was hestitant but she might as well know the people she would be working with. No way she would hang with a couple of cheerleaders. "Sure, I might as well." She said while nodding her head.
"I'm going to have such a hard to time adjusting here. It's been so long since I've been back home." She gave a long sigh, placing her head onto the desk. There was so much to focus on now. Having friends, cheerleading, completing school, and going to work was more stressful than the exams in Japan. She turned her brown eyes away from Madison down to her desk. "Sorry for the rambling. I don't often do it.".

"I'm sure you won't have as much trouble as you think you will. It doesn't seem so bad here, I mean all schools have drama. But that doesn't make it so bad, just interesting." He laughed slightly at himself. The bell rang for class to start, and he stood up. "How about we have lunch together later, maybe I can find Ash and she can introduce you to the cheerleaders then! And I better see you at homecoming. And not working at it." He gave her a smirk, and threw his backpack over his shoulder. "It was nice to meet you Mandy, I'll see you around." He gave her a wave before heading out, he was sure he'd break her out of her shell if it was the last thing he did. He looked back at her once more before leaving homeroom.

~ Hajar Giles ~

It wasn’t hard to find Ryan, she could have spotted him from a mile away in the pouring rain with her eyes blindfolded, she picked up the pace in her steps to get near him. From behind, she coiled her arms around his hips and gave him a tight hug, planting a kiss in the middle of his back. “Hey lovely...” Her voice purred against his back before she peeked around his side to get a look at his face but then she saw the blonde. It was like a sudden thunderstorm on the plains, one that came up so fast no one could prepare for it. Her dark eyes became darker, her face went rigid and serious with a hard angle that made her face cloud up then her muscle went tight with anticipation, flexing against the fabric on her skin. “Who’re you.” It wasn’t a question or a statement, it was a demand.

Ryan felt Hajar's arms wrap around him. He felt so comfy with her arms wrapped around him. Then she gave him a kiss. It warmed his heart to know that she was with him. But it changed when she started to tense up. She wasn't happy that Ryan was talking to Sawyer. He should have told Hajar about Sawyer. She was his best friend for a long time. "Hajar...To tight... To tight." He said trying to get her to loosen up."Hajar, this is Sawyer, Sawyer this is Hajar. Sawyer is my best friend. She's lived next to me for a couple years now." He looked at Sawyer. It was the kind of look that said "See what I mean, intense." He put his hand on her hand and held it. "We we're just talking about you. She wanted to meet you. Sawyer, How's Grace? Did you ask her to homecoming?" He said hoping that Hajar would pick up on whole fact that he said the name Grace. Maybe she could figure that Sawyer was gay and actually had a girl of her own.

Martin took a sip of his breakfast coffee and then peeked at his son over last week’s Maine Sunday Telegram.

‘Aren’t you going to drink up? Your tea is getting cold, son,’ he said.

The boy was messing around with his phone though and wasn’t really paying any attention to his old man.

‘Have you thought about what we’re going to make for Elise on the Friday? I was thinking. . . Italian? We could do like a tomato soup. . . and a spaghetti carbonara for the main course, perhaps?’ he said, ‘Stuart?’

‘Huh?’

‘Christ, I’m trying to talk to you,’ said Martin, turning the newspaper over to the editorial on the back, ‘Oh, shoot – I just realised that I asked her to come on the Friday. Isn’t that when you have your dance thing at school?’

Silence.

‘Oh for crying out loud. . . Would you put that stupid phone down for a moment? . . . What, are you chatting with a girl?’

The boy looked up from his phone quizzically. ‘No, Dad.’

The father leant forward. ‘Wait. . . Or is it a boy?’

‘Um, well. . . I’ve been meaning to tell you. . .’ the boy stammered, apologetically, then leant forward and articulated in a whisper: ‘I’m gay.’

‘I always knew, tell me something I don’t know.’

The boy shook his head, frustrated, and then lowered his phone briefly. ‘I’m just trying to look for someone, that’s all. My friend. His name’s Kanen.’

‘Isn’t that the older kid who came to see you at the hospital?’

‘Yeah, and I haven’t seen him in like weeks, so I was trying to send him a message. But I don’t know his username. I tried asking but the other kids are just being mean.’

‘Mean how?’

Stu then slid his phone across the table, so his dad could see the Twitter feed for himself. Martin folded his newspaper away and tried to navigate the tiny screen with his large thumb. Then he raised an eyebrow and said, ‘What kind of a stupid name is GoDuckYourself?’

Stu got up and walked round behind his father, and peeked at the tiny screen, putting a hand on his dad’s shoulder. ‘Oh. . .You know the kid who I told you is high all the time? Yeah, that’s him.’

‘Figures,’ Martin scoffed, ‘And what’s this. . . Rav3n, couldn’t he spell his name properly with an E, you know, like a normal literate person? What is it with kids these days?’

‘Pretty sure that’s a she, Dad,’ he said, snatching his phone back and circling to his chair. ‘I just don’t know why they’re being so mean. The kids at school are always mean and getting in fights. Yesterday someone slammed this guy, Mason, into a table. The teachers didn’t even really care, like it’s normal.’

‘Well I don’t want you getting in any fights, you hear?’ said Martin, over his ‘World’s Greatest Dad’ mug. ‘But if you really have to, aim for the crotch.’

‘Yeah Dad, real sound advice.’

‘Well if you only had one swing, you best make it count. Am I right or am I right?’

‘Great, Dad. You’re so gay. Can you just drive me to school now?’ said the boy.

Sawyer
Sawyer was kind of surprised when this girl came out of no where and wrapped herself around Ryan. Her eyebrows shot up when she seemed to get a bit angry about Sawyer being there. A small laugh fell past her lips at the situation. It always made her laugh when people made that assumption about her and Ryan. Sawyer was about to open her mouth and answer this girl she assumed was Hajar when Ryan did it for her. Ryan proceeded to ask her about Grace and she smirked.

"We're great. Wonderful. I did ask her. It was all very romantic really." She grinned, more at Hajar than at Ryan, "You could take a few pointers from me, dude." She winked at Hajar.

"Nice to meet you. Takes a lot to get my boy here gushing so congratulations."

Dak Dak COTimberWolf1942 COTimberWolf1942

Ryan's eyes had widened when Sawyer said that he was gushing over Hajar. It was completely true, but he didn't want Hajar to know that. "Damn it Sawyer." He said to her. "But I knew that Grace would say yes to you and homecoming." With that Ryan wondered if Hajar wanted to go to homecoming. He didn't really peg her as the one to go to a dance for fun. Maybe if she was forced to go. He would probably as her later, but not right now. He would do that later in private. If she did want to go, then he would probably have to come up with an elaborate way to ask her to homecoming. But that would come later.

With his hand over Hajar's "How'd you sleep beautiful?" After they took that nap yesterday, Ryan had dropped her off at her apartment before heading back to school to talk with Ash. Hell, Ryan didn't know what to do. Again, Ryan didn't know about people, he knew machines. And Ash for that.

They left the house late and by the time Neck Tie reached school, the bell had already rung and there was a deluge of humankind swarming up the steps like soldiers destined for their sole institution of learning.

Now Neck Tie paced down the hallway with his bulky science poster awkwardly tucked under his arm. Something about convection currents and plate tectonics. He got to the locker and reached into his pocket for the key in haste. Once he’d got the door open, Neck Tie dipped into his backpack for his maths textbook, and tossed what he didn’t need into his locker. He was in too much of a hurry to say hello to the ants. His maths teacher, Mr. Wright, was known for a lot of things but patience for tardy students was not among them.

He tried stowing his poster but it was like trying to fit square peg into a round hole, or in this case a smaller square hole. He thought it was unfair how freshmen had the smaller lockers. Well he wasn’t too keen on lugging that stupid thing around all day and having it in a wreck before science class, which was the last period of his day. So he hesitated some more before turning to the older male to his left for help.

‘Hey, um. . . I know this sounds really stupid but, this is too big for my locker. . . and I’m too clumsy to be carrying it around so do you have any free space? Please?’

After his rather long excursion sitting in the room for Homecoming committee and decorating his giant poster, Drake finally emerged from the room, successfully covered in various different colors of glitter. Mainly pink. He almost looked like a glittery rainbow, and well, it was sad to think that Drake had failed to keep so much glitter off of him.

While walking out of the room and towards the bathroom, he caught sight of Eli looking lost. "Hey! How's your second day going?" Drake asked as he came to a stop in front of her, smiling broadly. There was glitter glue in his hair. There was glitter glue on his hands, his arms... the boy was basically half glitter.

And while waiting for her to reply, Drake had to turn away for a moment to sneeze, and a cloud of glitter came out of his nose. Yep.

Madison looked over at the kid who looked a bit helpless. "of course, no problem." He took the poster from his hand and stuck it in his locker, attempting to be careful with it despite how klutzy he could be. "Just let me know when you need it, I should be around" He closed his locker and locking it. "Hi, I'm Madison, but I go by Mads for the most part!" He had a huge goofy smile plastered across his face, which was normal for him. His coffee was finally starting to kick in after his sister forced him out of the house.

gb70ykn.gif

Neck Tie felt his heart sank as the older boy snatched his precious poster from his hand. Man, it took him so long to put it all together, it would be a shame if an accident were to happen to it. The older boy was pretty careful with it though. He observed him slide the poster vertically into the space in his locker. Neck Tie squinted and smiled, ‘Thanks so much. . . I’ll, um, probably get it back at lunch, if that's OK.’

He watched the older boy close and lock his locker. That was when Neck Tie started feeling a bit anxious and queasy. What if he didn’t see this boy again at lunch? His grades depended on him getting the poster to his science teacher in one piece. Maybe leaving it out of mind and out of sight wasn’t such a good idea after all.

To be honest, the goofy look on the boy’s face didn’t help. He couldn’t tell if Madison was genuinely helping or whether he had a prank up his sleeves. Well he hoped it was the former, but Neck Tie was always wary of older kids and their shenanigans. It was a bit too late to be having second thoughts though. ‘I’m Neck Tie. . . I mean, Stu, but everybody calls me Neck Tie.’ He said, glancing at the leather watch on his wrist. The one the policeman, Jim, gave him. Boy, he was running real late for class. Neck Tie busied himself adjusting the straps of his backpack so it didn’t get too awkward as they stood locking eyes. ‘Mads is a better nickname than what they call me,’ he said with a little chuckle.

Hajar stayed silent as she eyed up Sawyer like a boxer about to ring in but when she really listened to Ryan's words then Sawyer, she understood the impression right away. "I'm sorry...I'm being a bit of an ass to you, it's my default personality setting." She smiled but there wasn't any real emotion behind it, though her eyes became warmer in their emotions and ceased to be black cesspools of unnatural violence and unwavering intensity. "Oh I'm sorry..." She released her grip on Ryan's hips and side stepped to his left side, enjoying the grip he hand on her hand, "Well I slept pretty wonderful, had an early start though so I'm willing to go back to bed now though." Her lips curled into a genuine warm smile but then fell away as she caught herself, she didn't like being so weirdly open in public, what was this guy doing to her? "Okay so... I'm out of the loop, what's this homecoming thing I'm hearing about all of the sudden?" She looked between the two curiously, she was an East Ender from London, none of this American stuff made sense to her.

"Oh." Shiloh jumped a little when the light touch got his attention so he spun around and looked down at June, he was surprised that she was coming to him, they barely knew each other except for this double date thing. "Yeah absolutely...uh.. June right?" He smiled a little to himself, remembering her name was a little difficult. "Come over here, I don't want you to get run over." He took a gentle grip of her arm and pulled her over to the wall, out of the way of the student traffic whizzing through the halls. "Whats up hun?" His southern twang was comical but lovely, it was the best thing about him besides the cowboy hat.

"Oh. My. God." Phoenix was already picking himself up and getting ready to run from his impending crucifixion, she was a rainbow disaster right now, likely to just run him over. "Okay... So..." He held his hands up like Christ Pratt in Jurassic World where he was taming the raptors. "I know... I know you're so extremely mad at me right now but please hear me out love." His lithe Irish accent made the words curl on his tongue, "I can give you a new outfit, better... Just please don't nail me to the wall like Jesus of Nazareth, just give me a chance to help okay?" His baby blue eyes were peeled back in shock, just staring at her like a deer in headlights, Phoenix was trying so hard to not look embarrassed in front of Alexander, he was not going to give that bitch the satisfaction.

He chuckled at his nickname "Neck-tie, where does that even come from?" He could see how nervous this kid was, "You're not new are you? Because I feel like I should be the nervous one here... It's only my second day.." He watched him continue to check his watch.. 'geez, this kid seems like a wreck....' He thought to himself and then pointed thumbs over his shoulder, "Do you need to go? Grab me at lunch when you need it back, I'm not too hard to miss" Laughing at his own comment making fun of his own height.

Sawyer
Sawyer cocked her head to the side curiously when Hajar asked what homecoming was. She supposed she should've expected it, her accent hinted at the fact that she was definitely English. An English girl. Huh. Sawyer couldn't be more proud of her best friend right now.

"It's a dance." Sawyer informed Hajar, shoving her hands in her pockets, "Not as big as prom but it's still a dance. Happens after the home football game Friday." She eyed Hajar curiously, dances didn't look like they would really be her thing.

"Though I wouldn't think it would really be your scene." She added, "It's not mine either but it is my girlfriend's so I'll suffer." She laughed a little. To be honest, Sawyer didn't care about the party she just wanted an excuse to see Grace all dressed up.

Her head was fuming with rage, but she couldn't walk around school covered in a sticky situation all day, especially since it was only her second day. She took a deep breath in let it out. "Fine. But don't think this is going to make us friends." The first words she spoke to someone other than her brother in the new school. "Lead the way?!" Here eyes were wide, and still full of anger even though she had attempted to calm herself down, it obviously wasn't working. She threw her hair up into a ponytail. Shaking off her arms trying to ground herself before she did consider nailing him to a wall.

‘My maths teacher, Mr. Wright, he’s a real grump,’ Neck Tie explained as he shut his own locker and slipped the key into his pocket. ‘Once, he made this kid, Tom, stand in a corner for the whole hour, for being just five minutes late!!’ And according to his watch, Neck Tie could be next in line for that selfsame punishment if he didn’t get a move on – and fast.

Did he have enough time to tell Mads the story of how he came to be known as Neck Tie? Probably not. But here it was anyway: ‘Once upon a time,’ he said, ‘a kid showed up at school wearing a neck tie, on his first day, and made Westbrook history. . . Well that kid was kind of me.’ Now all the other kids made sure he would never forget it. How very considerate of them.

Now he was getting neck cramps just talking to Mads, which kind of reminded him of the incident with Mason on the football pitch. That was more than a month ago, but he still had nightmares about it sometimes. Though, to be fair, he had a dream once when he was actually the one throwing Mason on the ground, but no matter how he slept again afterwards he could never replicate his sweet victory ever again. ‘Anyway, I better scoot.’ He told Mads, nodding. The boy made one final mental note of what Mads looked like, before he went scurrying down the hallway and disappearing shortly after into the crowd.

Mason

After his rude little chat with knock-off Rivera and Carter, Mason had headed into school to get his books for class. For a while, he had held said books in his hands and looked down at them, quietly contemplating what the point even was of staying in school and keeping up his grades. His chances of college were ruined, and it wasn't like a high school diploma would make a difference in Mason's... uh... "line of work." He'd already almost dropped the year before, and had even had the written consent from his mother to do so, but losing Ari meant that he needed something to keep his thoughts elsewhere. But now...

Of course, his thoughts were pushed back when out of the corner of his eye, he saw a certain little Neck Tie walking down the hallway. Right. That little brat still owed Mason an entire month of servitude. Originally, Mason wasn't going to honor that and was just going to shrug it off but now, well, his life was fucked, anyway, so why not make the world hate him more?

"You." He snapped, slamming his locker shut and moving in front of Stu with his arms crossed over his chest. Mason glared down at him. "So, kid, I believe you owe me a month of servitude for beating your ass at football. However, I don't want you following me around for an entire month so instead, how is one week?"

Raven wandered through the halls, she wasn’t needed anywhere special at the moment. Instead of just hanging out in newspaper, why not explore? She was walking past music room when she stopped, Eying the piano for a few seconds until she finally decided to just walk in.

Running her fingers along the keys, when she looked up she noticed the boy off to the side. Raven remembered him from that fight about a month ago. Surprising considering every other day a new fight breaks out. “You’re Jace.. right?” Narrowing her eyes at him. “I hardly see you around, do you just..”

“Not leave this room?”

"Thank god, I'm cool with that but I can't say my Irish charm will grow on." Jesus Christ Phoenix Wilson this is not the time for jokes, you're gonna die, His thoughts were right and spot on, but he just shook his head, just keep on keeping on like his mother always said. "Ignore my comments, I'm an idiot." He muttered, grabbing her by the elbow and whisking her away from the library. He moved fast, but that's cause he was tiny and nimble, leading her through the crowds so fast that no one would see the rainbow colored girl with the dramatic red head leading her. "In here" His voice was singing as he pulled her into the theater and led her onto the stage, behind the curtain. He popped out his key and unlocked the closet, pulling her in with the light slam of the door. He popped the light on, "The director lets me use this closet... for all my clothes... it's my office." He shrugged with a mischievous smile, he wasn't wrong because there was at least seven days worth of fashionable clothes all strewn about or hanging up. "Please choose anything you like, I guarantee we're about the same size but for color recommendations I think something light like sky blue or a pale green would look good on you, matches those dark eyes."

gb70ykn.gif

Neck Tie was running late for Mr. Wright’s class. Mason was the last person he expected to see, and the last person he needed to see right now. Well that first part wasn’t entirely true. He knew there was always that sliver of chance that Mason was going to show up and ruin his day. The past few weeks had gone without incident, but that the two ancient rivals would bump into each other was always lurking in the realm of possibility. Westbrook might have been a big school, but it certainly wasn’t big enough for the two of them.

Well, he would have said yes. He’d been planning to honour the deal anyway, that’s why Neck Tie went to the football pitch right after he got out of hospital, but Mason was never there. So what was he supposed to do, complain? No, he just counted himself lucky and hoped that Mason had forgotten about the whole thing, what with the injury to his leg also. It turns out Mason hadn’t forgotten anything, and had come to collect his debts. . .

Well, he should have said yes. But for some reason Neck Tie was feeling a little feisty this morning. It might have been teenage hormones, or a spur-of-the-moment rush of blood. He didn’t like being intimidated and Mason stepping in front of him and crossing his arms and blocking his way was feeling a lot like intimidation. Anyway, he said: ‘Mason, get out of my way. I’m already late for class, can we talk about this later?’ He kept his head down, and hugging his textbooks close to his chest he tried slipping around his human blockade.

Yeah, so eventually he was going to cave in and give Mason what he wanted. Slave around for a week, a month, whatever. But if he didn’t show some sass he’d just be picked on for the rest of his life. So Neck Tie was doing the right thing by showing Mason he couldn’t just push the little guys around as he pleased. It wasn’t just him being stupid and having a death wish for the hundredth time, right?
