~ Hajar Giles ~

It was a long time since Hajar had felt this sense of calm and peace, she had spent the last year running from a mobster who wanted her dead and now she was finding some form of happiness in the arms of a stranger. Ryan was right, this day had started off on a bad note but now here she was, kissing him in his garage after they had broken into a house then got some ink together. One hell of a first date. The kiss took her back down into a peaceful place, like diving under the ocean waves to see the settled waters and colorful reefs, she didn’t plan to come up for air. After a few more moments of being drawn into an unending kiss, she pulled back for air and to speak, “Honestly.. this has been the best day I’ve had in a year. I’ve spent the last year running and moving to escape my par but today I’ve completely forgotten about my problems because you made it all better .” She pressed her forehead into his chest and nuzzled her face into his chest with a soft sigh, “I don’t know what this is.. but I don’t want it to end. Fair enough?” She looked back up at him, her arms snaked around his neck, “What do you say pretty boy?”

Ryan listened as Hajar had spoken. She had ran away from someone. Would that mean that she would run away if that problem had found her there. He didn't want her to go. He wanted her to stay right there. Ryan tightened his hold on her. "I don't want it to end either... And if something comes your way. I will be there. I'll be the first person with you. No matter what. I will be there." He said ranning a hand up and down her back. Ryan held her there for a minute. He rested his head against hers. "We'll face the world together if need be." He said as he closed his eyes and just held her. He slowly rocked back and forth. His hand still going up and down across her back. He let out a breath before kissing her forehead. Ryan was content. He didn't want to let her go. He lifted his head up so that he could kiss her. His arms were wrapped around her, so he lifted her up. She was easy to support. He turned around and set her down on the table all while they were kissing. He pulled back for air before kissing her again. He liked kissing her, she was soft and warm. A lot different from when he first met her. He never wanted that moment to end. He wasn't going to do anything, he just wanted to kiss her. His arms still wrapped around her. He was content with her, happy even.

Elizabeth

So that's how it felt, Eli thought to herself. Interesting. He wasn't a jackass in her opinion, far from it. He was actually rather nice and... adorable, if she was to say. Kinda reminded her of herself, though on a smaller scale.
"I don't know how one's height can be associated with the person's jackass...ery.." She giggled. That was not a word that existed. Great job, girl..

They reached the girl's changing rooms. As they stopped there, Shiloh asked her for her number so they could maybe talk in the future or go out. She didn't mind that. She found it fun to talk to him, and besides, he was really tall and she could use a lift every once in a while.
"Uhm, sure... I'll write it down for you" She reached for her backpack and pulled out a notebook and a pen. Tearing a piece of paper from there, she quickly wrote her number on it, and gave it to Shiloh
"Alright, I have to go now. See you later!" The girl waved the giant off, and entered through the door, immidiately heading for the locker to get changed into her swimsuit

She followed his instructions through, and actually successfully made a basket this time. "Yes!" Ash yelled, and turned to Madison, grinning widely as she looked up at him. "I wouldn't say player, because like, I'd need to know how to dribble, but thanks." She said with a laugh. Her eyes drifted to the clock, and she saw that lunch was almost over. Great. "Alright, so next time, I expect to be able to do this with a blindfold. Or over the shoulder." Ash said, obviously joking. She was fairly certain that no amount of practice would turn her into some kind of basketball pro.

“It was nice to meet you Eli, I’ll be sure to shoot you a text sometime...” Shiloh was holding the piece of paper like it was a bit of gold before he carefully tucked it into his wallet, planning to put the number in his phone later on that day. He felt something warm in his stomach when he thought of Eli, it made him feel relaxed. He shook his head with a sigh then ran his fingers through his hair, looking long and hard out the window before moving on with his day.

Hajar was drowning and she wasn’t going to come up for air, every single thing Ryan had said had hit the mark, it made her feel safer then she ever had before. “Ryan...” She was able to free herself from his grasp and push him back a little, her hands grasping down on his shoulders. “You barely know me, I’m running from some very bad people and they’ve already caught up with me once before, someone got hurt cause of me.” She blinked away the twinge of guilt that came to her eyes, “If you want this, you’re liable to get hurt and I can’t let someone get hurt for me.” Her words were soft as she brought her hand up to touch his face, “Why would you risk anything for me.”

Ryan looked into Hajar's eyes for a second. He was taking them in. "We only met today. I've spent my life fighting for myself. Fighting to make people stop making fun of my family. Fighting for things I care about. There has been fights I've won, and one's I've lost. I've shared in some victories, and licked my wounds in defeat. I'm not afraid of that type of pain. I'm not afraid of a lot of things." He took his hand and caressed her face. "I've been at deaths door before when I was in my accident, but I didn't shy from it. I'm not afraid of standing up... Even though I only have one leg." He said with a chuckle. "But there's something about you. Something I can't tell about you that makes me wanna be there. To raise you in succes, and to consule you in lose. Something about you has got me in a tailspin. So whatever comes your way. I'll be right there with you. I will be the rock that keeps you here." He said with his smile as he touched his forehead with hers. "Hajar Giles. You don't leave me." He said.

“Alright Ryan Maxwell, you’ve got me firmly in your grasp for now I think.” She leaned her face into his hand, closing her eyes for a moment as all the tension left her body in a single sigh that escaped past her lips. For a long moment she was quiet and happy for the peace before leaning up, planting a kiss on his chin, “Now while I’m not planning on the first date to get my clothes off and hop into bed with, I’m honestly ready to just close my eyes for a few minutes.” The adrenaline that had been pumping through her veins all day was finally catching up with her, making her eyes heavy with sleep. “I wouldn’t mind taking a snooze with you.” Her arms found their way back around his neck as she leaned her body into his, pressing a few more light kisses to his chest as she settled in for a peace she had spent so long waiting for.

Grace

Grace gave a confused look towards Sawyer for a moment. What am i supposed to do? She took a breath and walked over towards Phoenix. Oh my god, did he want to talk to her because she was out? Is this what.. fellow gay people do? No, why did that matter. He wanted her help, why not help? “You’re not lost.” She shook her head, Alex was.. cool. But most definitely not someone to be lost over. “You don’t need a relationship to be happy.” Granted, she was in a relationship and happy. But it was the truth, you shouldn’t rely on love. Because there’s a huge chance it won’t work out. “And should you feel like you want one anyway there’s plenty other people out there.”

“You should focus on yourself. So what if you two broke up, Alex obviously wasn’t the one for you.” She shrugged

Putting her hands on his shoulders and shaking him a bit. “But there is someone for you.”

“You just gotta be patient.” Grace offered a smile.

Ryan chuckled lightly as she spoke. She wasn't going to sleep with him in a sense just yet, and Ryan was alright with that. He still wanted to learn more about her before anything. He had a bed in the back that would be just the right size for both of them to take a nap in. He wrapped his arms around her and carried her into the back. There wasn't a lot of things in there, but it was just enough for Ryan. He stopped at the bed and laid her down. He covered her with the blanket and kissed her on the forehead. "Sleep easy." He said before walking around the otherside of the bed. He laid down next to her and cuddled up next to her. He wrapped his arms around her and held her before falling asleep.

~ Phoenix Wilson ~

His baby blue eyes were glimmering on the point of tears when she grabbed him by the shoulders, giving him a firm shake but her words made so much sense. “You’re right Grace...” He sighed out the words softly and shook his own head before hopping off the counter. “You’re right, today Phoenix Wilson is gonna be his own man and he is gonna be happy.” He put his foot down, both physically and metaphorically, “I’m gonna change my twitter name, I’m gonna go home and I’m gonna throw out all his love notes. Time for a bonfire.” He gave Grace a tight hug before pulling back, “You and me are going dress shopping this week, I have the perfect little botique for you, we’re gonna make her eyes pop outta her head.” He flashed a devilish grin at Sawyer then gave Grace one more tight hug before dashing out of the girls bathroom, feeling more triumphant then he had before.

He slowly let go of Jace, nodding to his older friend’s encouraging words, wiping his tears with his sleeves. He really needed that hug. OK, so he didn’t expect to be getting it from Jace, but that didn’t matter so much. Now they’d both now seen each other at their worst moments, so that made them friends for life, right?

Their eyes met briefly and Stu managed a small chuckle. He couldn’t believe how miserable he was, and how stupid he must have looked, bawling like a baby in front of another kid. He pulled his shirt to wipe his face, soaking up the tears until his eyes were dry again.

Then Stu turned to the piano slowly. ‘Hey Jace. . . check this out.’ He showed Jace arpeggios he’d been practising. And he played them perfectly just like how Jace had taught him. ‘I can do them over two octaves, too.’ You could tell he’d put a lot of practice into the past few weeks.

‘Maybe you could show me how to play the guitar sometime,’ the boy said, and then it was only fair that he dipped into his pocket and offered Beanie Boy the remaining half of his KitKat.

Sawyer
It was currently 10:25 and Sawyer was surprised at herself. She had set up everything at a lightning quick speed and now all she had to do was make sure the lights work. Sawyer made her way over to the extension cord running behind the gazebo thing she'd used and picked up both ends. With a deep breath she counted down from three and plugged it it. The moment of truth didn't disappoint as the light strung over the arch of the gazebo flashed on. She let out a sigh of relief she hadn't known she was holding and walked back around to the front of the gazebo to admire her handiwork.

Besides the lights, there was way too many flowers set up in like a path up to the gazebo, plus the single lavender rose that had been nearly impossible to find. You would think flower shops would have all the different colors on had but the fucking lavender one wasn't there in nearly all the shops. She'd been so relieved when she finally found the damn thing in some hole in the wall flower shop on the very end of town. All of the research she'd done on rose meanings, consisting of a single google search, hadn't been in vain. Sawyer doubted Grace would know what lavender meant, but she didn't mind.

Along with the lights and flowers, Sawyer had tried her best to dress nice. Of course her father had been a huge helped and ultimately they'd just settled on an old button up and his old suit vest that surprisingly fit her. The sleeves of the button up had gotten rolled up to her elbows while she was stringing lights so now she was standing under the lights trying to fix it.

The damn things didn't want to go back to the right place, but she kept trying. Over and over again she rolled them up and back down in an attempt to fix them, and she would still be doing just that when Grace arrived.

Mason

For once, the principal had been on Mason's side... kind of. Yes, he had detention, but Ryder had gotten suspended. And yes, Mason felt great about that. He walked into the new school with a newfound confidence, head held high, but still with a limp thanks to his damn stupid leg and stupid brace. Although Mason wasn't supposed to take it off for a while, he planned on taking it off for Homecoming. Surely one night wouldn't hurt, right?

So after Mason had dropped his books in his locker, he headed outside for a quick smoke break before the day began. He pulled his cigarette out of his front pocket, quickly lighting it as he came to a stop by where the others tended to smoke. Mason didn't make any move to socialize with them as he slowly exhaled and looked up towards the sky.

Jace
tumblr_inline_nrnc9pIkzf1sn95bh_250.gif

It was already Tuesday, and Jace had yet to come up with a perfect way to ask Nova to Homecoming -- or to even come up with a great idea. Well, he had something. A small idea involving the beach, a guitar, perfect lighting, and some candles. And to be honest, Jace had absolutely no other decent ideas, so that's probably what he was going to do.

On top of that, his father's whole work situation was just getting worse. He was still unemployed, and they were still having to cut back on certain things. Which meant no new instruments, no cleaning help, and no more take out. Jace and Ash had been eating a lot of home cooked meals, and their dad wasn't exactly the best chef.

But hey, surely his dad's situation would get better... right? At least, that's what he hoped as he headed towards the music room, his fingers nervously fixing his yellow beanie.

With Homecoming just a few days away, Drake found himself, well, busy a lot. Thankfully, he hadn't really been sleeping a lot and instead had been spending a ton of time working on the dance after school and before school -- such as today. Yes, he was supposed to be working on decorations in the room that they were storing said decorations until Friday (the dance would be taking place in the gym, but sadly they couldn't set anything up thanks to stupid gym class).

However, instead of working on decorations today, Drake was working on his special sign to get a date for Homecoming. And not just any date, but the best date. Alaska. His goal was to make this the best date she'd ever had, especially after all the drama that had happened the previous month. So yeah, he was excited.

On the ground in front of him was a huge piece of paper that he was writing out his proposal to Alaska. So far, all he'd done is write Alaska in very large, pink glittery letters. His face was covered in pink glitter, and some was even in his hair.

Yesterday's fight had resulted in a certain someone getting suspended from school for the entirety of the week, meaning that Ash truly would be attending Homecoming alone. Great. At least the conversation with Ryan had gone decently, and she could check him off of... well... liking her, which was a refresher. Now done with any of the drama associated with multiple boys, Ash just had Ryder... right? Right. Of course. Ryder liked her, that's what he'd said.

Still, there was some doubt in the back of Ash's mind, but she tried to ignore those as she made her way to her locker, popping it open and tossing her books in. On the door of her locker was a mirror, and for a moment, she stared into it, quietly debating her life. Maybe it would be best if she just, like, gave up on the whole dating thing or something. Maybe she should become a nun, although nunneries seemed like the kind of place who wouldn't except a person who'd already sinned.

Shrugging, Ash took a couple books out of her locker and closed it before she started towards her class.

Elizabeth

Well, her first day has come and gone, and in that time, she managed to meet three guys, two of which have invited her out to the Homecoming this Friday. After she came back home, she was thinking about this, thinking how they would've responded if she said no to either of them. She reckoned that "since Drake is rather popular, he wouldn't really mind if she refused", and Shiloh wasn't really inviting her out, at least not right now, so only the wolf boy remained, the... what was his name.. Stu, that's right.

As the girl got dressed the next day, she made up her mind as to what she was going to do.
Elizabeth immidiately rushed towards the ferry. Alongside her ran Chicka, who managed to come right after the girl. Noticing her running behind her, Eli was at first suprised. She ran back with her to the house, making sure it was closed with the dog safely inside, and only then did she run back towards the ferry, barely catching it.

The hallways weren't as unfriendly as yesterday, she thought as she walked towards her locker. After unlocking it, the girl once again threw her backpack in it, closing it and stuffing her key in her pocket.

Her first lesson of the day was physics.... and now came the part where she realised she has only been to the first floor... and she had no idea as to where the physics class was... But nonetheless, she headed off to find it, also looking around for a boy in wolf's costume.

Rae:

Rae had gotten up early to get to the library and avoid all the crowds of everyone talking about homecoming and trying to find a last minute date. She did NOT want to get into the middle of it. She had successfully avoided any and all human interaction thus far and she planned to keep it that way. No one had noticed her, yet on the opposite end it seemed her brother had already made friends with almost everyone. She pulled up her hoody around her head and nuzzled further into her chair continuing to read her book. She still had around 30 minutes before school started, and since she still hadn't shown up to home room, she was sure that her teachers weren't missing her. Her brother however wasn't happy that he had to show up to school so much earlier than everyone else.

Mads:

tumblr_ozv5riikSU1u3i360o1_250.gif
Madison had dark circles under his eyes from his lack of sleep the night before, he had stayed up all night looking up everything he could do in Maine and how far it was from his house. He had planned to sleep in to some degree, but after finally falling asleep, his sister had so rudely awoken him. He grumbled under his breath cursing his sister, this was the first time he wouldn't be found smiling, this boy thrived on his sleep, and with lack of it, he definitely had gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. "If you're going to be doing this to me daily, I hope you know that means I'm making you come to homecoming, and out after." He was the more social of the two siblings, he had already heard about a party or two after homecoming and was planning on making an appearance. "Ha, funny, there is no way in hell you are getting me to home coming, let alone to some frat house drinking party after it" Rae sneered, "Hey if we are getting early all week to avoid you having to interact with humans, then you're going to stay out late with me, so I can interact with people. You don't need too. Plus you're a nicer person when you're drinking, so maybe you'll be able to make a friend or two." He laughed. "I'm going to go to my locker, seems like people are starting to show up. And I'd rather not be a cave monster!" Rae took off her boot and threw it at him "HEY!" But Mads had already run out the door, his locker was close to his home room, turning the dial so he could get his first period class books and binders, as well as a snack since his sister hadn't let him have breakfast this morning.

Okay, day one of showing up to school sober, I've got this. I can do this without killing anyone. Its fine. She thought to herself as she walked through the doors, she stayed home last night for the first time in a while. It might have had something to do with the fact her parents weren't home and she wouldn't have anyone up her ass about studying and grades. She went to bed at 6pm and woke up at 6am. She needed sleep, she hadn't been sleeping more than 3-4 hours all week, and it had started to catch up with her. 5 hour energies were no longer cutting it to get her through the day. She headed towards the vending machine to get herself a protein bar since she had booked it out of the house before her parents were able to get up and start asking her about her studies and how her college practice papers were going, if she had signed up for the practice s.a.t.s yet. she ran her hand through her hair and adjusted her messanger bag, before heading to homeroom to get a seat in the back.

Grace
Grace slowly opened her door, wincing as the door creaked. Breathing a small sigh of relief she noticed June’s door was closed, then again if she saw her June probably wouldn’t rat her out, Well.. that’s what Grace would like to think anyway, carefully making her way down the stairs. And with no problems she’d finally made it to her front door, she smiled in victory. And that smile quickly faded when she heard someone clear their throat.

She shut her eyes tightly in defeat. Slowly turning around. She should’ve just tried to climb out the window. Grace didn’t say anything as her and David just stared at each-other. After a few painfully long seconds she spoke. “Don’t tell mom.” David just shook his head, he was the only one she was comfortable talking to at home, her Mom and June.. they haven’t talked things through yet. “I’m going to meet Sawyer at the park, that’s it. No drugs.. or whatever terrible things you think I’m capable of.” She told him.

David looked like he was considering it. They were still just staring at each other. This was getting very awkward very fast. “I won’t tell.” David told her tilting his head towards the door. Grace blinked in surprise, she opened her mouth to say something, and decided against it. She gave him a small smile and quickly left before he changed his mind.

Once Grace finally made it to the park. Her gaze wandered around before landing on a certain someone, she walked towards her. Eying all the flowers, and definitely noticing what she was wearing. Hating herself that she didn’t change into something better, shaking it off. She couldn’t help but smile as she watched Sawyer fiddling with something.

“Need any help?”

tumblr_nso49uH5AE1u1xo9co1_500.gif

Amanda walked by herself to her new school. Usually, she would take her bike rather than walk on her feet. Just to her own luck, the wheels of her bike mysteriously popped off. "Great!" She sneered. Now she had to carry the bike for a while mile. She pulled the wheelless bike along with her until she reached the school doors. She dumped the bike into the nearby bushes and strolled into the school's first hallway.
The hallway was suprisingly empty. That was probably due to her being early to school even though her bike was sabotaged. "I'm going to kill him" She muttered to herself, leaning against the lockers. She turned the boy next her. "Excuse me," She wasn't exactly sure where the homeroom was. It seemed to be the first place she needed to head to."Do you know where the homeroom is? A little new here?" She asked.

Sawyer
Sawyer's eyes shot up when she heard Grace's voice. She looked down at her sleeves again and then back up to Grace before letting out a defeated chuckle and letting her arms fall to her sides. This has started out great. Way to go, Sawyer. Stop worrying about your stupid sleeves.

"Um..maybe a little? But that's unimportant." Sawyer turned around and rushed back to pick up her oh so special lavender rose and hand it to Grace, "Hi. I'm so glad you didn't get crucified on your way here." She closed her hands over Grace's with a grin.

"I know this us a lot, but I couldn't help myself." Sawyer pulled away from Grace and pushed her sleeves up for the fifteenth time and holding a hand out toward Grace, "Will you, Grace Jackson, do me the honor of going to homecoming with me?"

Grace
Grace took the flower, finally taking a moment to look at her surroundings. Shaking her head at the gazebo, the lights, the flowers. It was beautiful.. She was in awe for a whole moment before turning her attention back to Sawyer. She chuckled. “Hi.” Raising the flower to her nose as she continued.

Grace’s smile widened and she could swear her heart skipped multiple beats when she asked. She sighed blissfully before answering. “Yes, Sawyer Andrews. I’d love to go to homecoming with you.” Taking her hand, and leaning in close.

“Maybe it’s a lot.. but I’m not complaining.” gesturing around to everything near them. “There aren’t words for how much i love this, you didn’t have to.. I would’ve went with you no matter what. But all of this It’s.. amazing.” She chuckled shaking her head. “You’re amazing.” Grace said as she gazed at her. Sawyer was well.. perfect and Grace just couldn’t figure out how.

“Lavender rose, huh?” Grace lifted it up between their faces, looking at the rose. Being here with her felt like a dream, it was like one of those romance movies Grace loved so much. “Love at first sight..” she whispered under her breath. Turning her gaze back towards Sawyer, admiring her for a long few seconds, lowering the flower before she leaned in to kiss her softly.

Sawyer
While she would never admit that she had just the slightest feeling of doubt, Sawyer was obviously very happy. With everything going on with Grace and her family, plus Natalie showing up out if nowhere, she'd be decidedly nervous about this. Not that she ever thought Grace would just tell her no, of course not. It was just....everything happening to Grace was a big deal and she didn't want a very public homecoming dance to add any more troubles.

She knew what the rose meant. Sawyer could've died right then and there. Holy shit.

"Yeah. Yeah. Love at first sight." The smile on Sawyer's face was soft, barely even there at all. Sawyer had to admit she was quite proud of her handiwork, the lights shining down on then illuminated Grace's face in a way that made her impossibly more beautiful. A sort of halo of light had settled around her a Sawyer could've just stood there forever just looking at her.

"It also means enchantment." Sawyer spun Grace around by her hand and then drew her close again, "Because you, my darling, are enchanting." She laughed and leaned forward again to kiss her.

Somewhere a few feet away from them a shadowed silhouette of a girl stood behind a tree. Her features were marked by the dark but her shoulders were bent and head bowed in such a way to convey anger. A phone was pressed up against her ear and on the other end a man's voice filtered through the speakers. A low, almost predatory growl.

"Of course. You have my word, Miss Porter. You bring me what I want and your... little problem will disappear. I swear on my mother's sick bed."

The silhouette, one Natalie Porter, simply hung up the phone and slipped it back into her pocket. This was only the beginning, they wouldn't know what hit them. Natalie grinned and the moonlight glinted menacingly off her teeth. All she needed was a key.

Raven swung her bag over her shoulder when Nancy called out, “Don’t go yet! How did the proposal go?” Raven sighed heavily. “Can we.. not.” She wasn’t in the mood to talk about it. Yesterday just.. no. “It didn’t work out, that’s all. Have a good day.” Raven waved to her as she quickly left before she had any more questions.

She was obviously semi-late, but it was fine. Walking she caught sight of Mason and rolled her eyes, but even she was a little bit curious. She made her way to him. “Rivera.” She greeted, taking the cigarette from him.

Putting it to her own lips, “so.. you obviously didn’t get suspended.” She told him blowing out the smoke. “What happened?” Raven was curious on how he got himself slammed into a table. So why not ask?

He still was exhausted but he was slowly beginning to wake up. "Uh well mine I think is in class 209, I made it there yesterday, but I'm not exactly sure how I pulled it off." He ran a hand through his hair, and adjusted the books under his arm. "What room are you supposed to be in? I'm sure we can figure it out together. this school isnt that big"

"I'm never letting you bring me to school again," Maverick said, almost falling off of Dakota's motorcycle as they slowed down into the school parking lot.
"And what? Are you going to learn how to drive?" Dakota gave his older brother the slightest of a grin and teasingly added, "You told me that yesterday when I gave you a ride."
"Yeah, and you said you would drive more carefully," Maverick said, taking several deep breaths to calm himself. His face was uncharacteristically pale as all the blood was drained from it. Dakota felt a bit of guilt as he realized that his reckless driving may have had more of an impact on Maverick than he thought.
"Looks like I lied," Dakota's grin widened. He carefully drove the bold red motorcycle into a vacant parking space.
"I'm never letting you drive me to school ever again," Maverick repeated. He got off of the motorcycle and checked that his backpack was still on his back, "You and your traffic violations are even more terrifying than me a few years and ago and all the things I caught on fire."
"Your welcome," Dakota said, getting off the motorcycle as well. He looked over to the front of the school, where decorations were already defiling the school, "Oh. I almost forgot. It's Homecoming. Did you find someone to go with?"
"You know I think Homecoming is all about sexual tension, bad decisions, and wasting money," Maverick said with disdain, "And I'm not about any of those three. Did you find anyone?"
"No," Dakota replied, a feeling of sadness rising up inside him. He knew he was just too shy to ask anyone out. And too closeted. There were several people he saw the past few weeks in the halls of the school that he was tempted to ask out, but the risk of being rejected always put him out of it.
"Ah, the only thing Homecoming is good for is getting a blowjob," Maverick said. Dakota knew that he was trying to cheer him up.
"Well, I'll see you around," Dakota said, walking towards the front of the school, prepare to go to homeroom. The rush of adrenaline that always came with driving his motorcycle was waning, and along with that came the usual calm that Dakota felt.
"See ya," Dakota heard Maverick walk his own direction. They usually never went the same direction in the mornings. Dakota always made a beeline to class, while Maverick hung out until the last second, at which he would sprint to class to enter the doors right before the bells rang.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Maverick's heartrate finally began to settle down as he made his way to the side entrance of the school. Despite loving his brother with all his heart, Maverick absolutely hated the feeling of danger as Dakota drove on his motorcycle. If not for the fact that he valued his sleep, Maverick would've gladly taken the bus.
Strangely, Maverick felt as if his heart rate was still beating at an unusually fast pace. His usual solution to this was smoking, despite the fact that he knew it was illegal for him to smoke, but he didn't care.
After a bit of walking, he found himself in the little corner where everyone usually smoked. The smell of smoke lingered in the air. Maverick judged that he didn't seem too out of place in comparison to the seniors standing there.
Maverick found himself a spot to look out through the window and rummaged through his backpack until he found a box of half empty cigarettes. He took one out, taking his lighter out as well, which was always in his jacket pocket. He lit the end of the white nicotine stick and sucked in some of the fumes, releasing it with a sigh of relief as his nerves finally calmed down.
Around him, seniors went about their business, some chatting, others keeping to themselves. One of the people there had a leg brace, and judging from where it appeared to be stabilizing, it wasn't just for an injury from a fall. Maverick didn't recognize the boy with the brace, but still, he struck up conversation.
"Jesus Christ," Maverick commented to the boy, "What did you do to yourself? Fall off the top of a half pipe?"

Amanda Miyazaki
Amanda was kind of glad that her second encounter is starting off friendly. She hasn't meet any irritating person. "Nice to meet you Mads. My name is Amanda Miyazaki." She introduced herself, trying to push a smile onto her face. She was still irritated about her bike. Amanda then pulled out a folded piece of paper from her pocket. She opened it to see what her homeroom is."I think I'm in the same homeroom as yours." She said, placing the paper back into her pocket. She took a deep breath, feeling a little out place in the school."Shall we walk together?".

"Well Ryder got suspended since, y'know, he broke a table with me." Mason explained, glaring down at Raven as she took his cigarette. He leaned back against the wall, shrugging. "All I got was detention since I didn't start shit." Okay, that was a damn lie, and he knew Raven would be able to see right through that.

"Okay, so maybe I said some things to Ash and Ryder took them way too personally. Either way, it was totally uncalled for." He wanted to take back his cigarette, but decided that, well, whatever. Raven could have it if she wanted. "It was stupid. Like, I was talking to Ash, not him, and then he comes out of nowhere and just fucking punches me. Dick."

Okay, he couldn't last without that cigarette. Mason snatched it back from her. "I know something else you could between your lips." Mason said with a wink at her as he replaced the cigarette between his lips.
