Kanen hadn't even heard Ash, instead, he felt his own heart pounding in his ears, going a thousand miles a minute. He was just so furious, he probably would continued kicking the shit out of Ryder if Nova hadn't already swooped in, saving the boy from Kanen's wrath. He back away slowly, taking small steps as he glared down at Ryder. Kanen would be lying if he said he didn't want to curbstomp Ryder right then and there.

When Alaska came in and started yelling at him, Kanen naturally yelled back. "Don't you fuckin dare! You knew what he did and you hadn't done jack shit about it!" Kanen snapped at her, pointing down at Ryder. "You've got no fucking right to critisize me if you were going to let him get away with that shit!" He yelled.

Kanen felt like his blood was practically boiling at this point. He felt too hot, his shirt felt to tight around his chest. Kanen want to just explode. His bloodied knuckles trembled, it part due to the raw anger, but also a side effect of the adrenaline going absolutely nuts in his system.

While Kanen yelled at Alaska, Ash slipped between him and Ryder. It might not have been much, but maybe she could stop him... maybe. Or at least talk him down, although it seemed like he hadn't heard her. Ash wasn't about to repeat herself, unless he turned his anger back on Ryder with fists swinging.

But as the yelling continued, Ash continued to just feel worse. "Kanen," she said, her voice quiet at first, and then louder. After all, everyone had already heard and knew what had happened on Saturday, anyway. There was no point in hiding it, and letting Alaska get the worst of it. "Kanen," she snapped. "I wasn't drunk. I drank a little bit of alcohol, and that was it. It was consensual. It's stupid but I wanted to sleep with Minuteman, okay?"

And with that, Ash figured that if Kanen didn't hear her now, then whatever. She'd let everyone else deal with it. Ash turned and stomped over to Ryder, crouching down next to him. "Are you... uh... well, I guess you're not okay... anything broken?" She asked, looking at him with worry despite having not spoken to him in a week. Even if Ash was confused about where she stood with Ryder, she still didn't want to see him hurt -- especially not for a stupid misunderstanding.

Jace
f1609c493b7c49761dddb1950443dcfa.gif

Ash's words smacked into Jace like a tidal wave and he stumbled back into the auditorium stage, his eyes wide and horror painted on his face. Ryder... had... he'd... he'd stolen Ash's innocence. He had ruined his little sister. His sweet, perfect little sister, and now everything had made sense. This is what had caused her to lash out at Nova, and Jace had been the bad brother that had avoided her for an entire week and not talked to her about what was happening.

Even as tears started to fall from his eyes, anger washed over Jace. He pushed away from the stage and yelled; "Get him, Kanen! Break his nose! His ribs! Make him pay!"

Grace
tumblr_inline_p1oasigljC1rifr4k_540.gif
Grace narrowly avoided Kanen as he moved out of the way, watching the door waiting for Ryder to show up. "Great." She lifted her arms and let them fall to her sides."Practice went amazingly guys." She shook her head. Why couldn't everyone just.. be well..not themselves. Just for a little while! She just wanted this to work out. And so far, it wasn't. Grace deflated giving up, and looked towards Ash apologetically.

Her eyes snapped to the door, when Ryder tried to enter and quickly snapped back towards Kanen. "Wait, Kanen don't-" She tried to stop him before he ran at him.

She flinched as he hit him, "Kanen, stop." She pleaded, she looked towards Ash when she said she'd slept with Ryder by choice, she knew that she didn't want to tell people about it, although telling him it didn't seem to make a difference. Maybe he didn't hear her? She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding when Kanen backed away from Ryder. "He isn't getting away with anything!" She tried to explain. Everyone yelling was drowning Ash out, when she yelled louder Grace was sure she'd caught everyone's attention.

She gave her a sympathetic look when she told him the truth. Everyone who was near them would hear, how did Kanen even get that story? Who told him that Ryder took advantage of her? She shook her head, hoping that this would fix itself. But it seemed to keep getting worse.

Nova
IlliterateThisHammerkop-small.gif
Nova hated being stuck in the middle of this. Alaska and Ash were up and defensive, Kanen and Jace were yelling, Grace was up and looking defeated, it was almost deafening. Trying to block it out, the brunette closed her eyes and took a deep, opening them again on Ryder's face. This boy needed to go home, and stay home, on his couch with his Marvel movies. Every time he came to this god damn school he ended up bleeding. It was at the thought that Nova realized the small trail of blood pooling from Ryder's nose, a frown spreading on her lips. "I'm not taking my shirt off again, but you are bleeding a little," She whispered near Ryder's ear with a friendly smile. This guy, on the floor again, was Nova's friend after all, and all this commotion couldn't have been good for him. When Jace finally spoke, Nova snapped her head over to him. Her eyes widened and her heart hurt, shaking her head. She knew he was angry and he couldn't have meant it but no, that was too far.

"JACE!" Nova shouted in his direction, her thick brows furrowed to the center of her face, eyes blinking to resist oncoming tears. She couldn't believe her blonde boy had said such a thing... and she couldn't believe how quickly it twisted her view of him.

Alaska

The brunette flinched as Kanen yelled at her, upset that he was lashing out at her. Maybe her brother did deserve it and maybe he didn't, that wasn't for him to decide. Alaska had so much going on she hadn't yet had time to confront Ryder about what she'd overheard, too busy trying to avoid confrontation at all. Alaska had spent all week being lectured by her mother on how much of a disappointment she was, the boy who was beating up her brother for the second time lecturing her on morality was the tipping point for her.

"I didn't know what happened. I told you because I was upset and I needed someone to talk to, you fucking dick." She practically screamed, fighting the tears that threatened to stream down her face. Alaska had never been good enough for anyone, she didn't give a damn what Kanen thought but she wasn't going to let him put his hands on her brother again.

"You shut the fuck up or I'll break your windpipe!" She threatened, turning to Jace with murder in her eyes before turning her gaze back on the wall of muscle in front of her.

Ryder

tumblr_phj2vrloLT1vkpxf0_540.gif

Ryder tried to laugh at Nova's joke but it hurt too much to move his face, but that didn't stop him from trying to stand to see what was happening with his sister. Of all people he hadn't expected Alaska to be the one to defend him considering that last time Kanen had punched him she joined in.

"If you fucking touch my sister I'll kill you." He yelled, anger boiling beneath his skin as he watched him tower over his short sister menacingly. This is exactly why he hadn't wanted Alaska around him, he was too dangerous for his sister. He didn't put it past Kanen to put his hands on a girl.

"I'm fine Ash, I just want to get the fuck out of here." He sighed, standing up as best he could while his head swam. Ryder hated himself for letting this happen, refusing to even look at Ash out of guilt. After Saturday it seemed like things were only getting worse for his little blonde friend, all thanks to him.

Kanen was used to people yelling and screaming at him by now, thag type of thing didn't really bother him anymore. However, as tears brimmedbon Alaska's eyelids, Kanen practically felt his heart shatter and drift away in the wind. It was absolute chaos, but for a moment, Kanen was fixated only on Alaska. The way her eyes watered, or worse, they way she looked at him.

Kanen snapped back into reality after Ryder was stupid enough to threaten him again. The guy had gotten his ass handed to him twice now, and yet he didn't know when to just shut the hell up. Like honestly, did he have a death wish? Kanen's eyes shot towards the boy, and Kanen took a step towards.

But he hesitated.

Again, he found himself looking at Alaska again. He didn't want to hurt. Oh God, Kanen didn't want to see her cry. Then she snapped at Jace, and suddenly Kanen had a new new target. Kanen wanted to hit something, and his personal punching bag was just ruled off limits. Luckily, Jace was too far away to do anything more than insult.

"You shut your fucking mouth, you dumb, weak, sorry-sack-of-shit!" Kanen snapped at Jace, not even a full second after Alaska had. "You wanna do something, do it your fucking self. I'm not your hound!"

"I don't blame you," Ash murmured, and watched as Ryder stood up, looking like he might faint. Well, it wasn't like anything she did could make this whole situation worse, so she slipped her arm around his waist to help steady him. "C'mon. I want to get out of here, too." Actually, Ash didn't really want to speak with or see anyone ever again.

Feeling horribly ashamed and wondering what the hell she had done to deserve any of this, and not even hearing her brother yelling at them or what else was happening with Jace and Kanen and Alaska and whoever the heck else had joined in. So, with head down while she tried to keep the tears back, Ash helped Ryder out of the auditorium, and let the door slam shut behind them.

Once out of the auditorium, Ash stopped, having no idea where to even go from here, and she felt so lost and confused, and it was like all the energy from her muscles had vanished. And all Ash could do was stand there and cry, tilting her head forward enough that her hair fell down around her and covered her face.

Jace
68747470733a2f2f73332e616d617a6f6e6177732e636f6d2f776174747061642d6d656469612d736572766963652f53746f7279496d6167652f71566b69626f432d426f694f4d413d3d2d3435373137353239332e313464626366313266663831623738323733303931323835313138342e676966

He glared at Nova as he started his way over. "He slept with my sister!" Jace snapped, unable to contain how angry he felt. That was the night Ryan had gone missing, the night that Ash had stayed over there, and Jace had assumed that Ash would be fine. It was Ryder. He had trusted Ryder with his sister, to comfort her as friends did, and instead he had turned around and slept with her in her time of need. Jace didn't care if it was "consensual." Ryder deserved it.

Of course, he stopped walking over when Alaska threatened him, and just glared at her from afar. Later, he would get his revenge... somehow. Somehow, he would get revenge on that boy for ruining his sister and her precious innocence. Ryder had tainted her, and he would pay for what he had done.

As Kanen's anger turned on him, Jace's eyes widened and he started backing up until he had gotten close enough to Grace to dive behind her, panicking and on the verge of tears. "Grace! Help!" He said, still trying not to cry as he crouched down behind the much smaller girl, hoping she would be enough to deter the bullies.

Grace
tumblr_inline_p1oasigljC1rifr4k_540.gif
Grace watched as Ash & Ryder left, she sighed heavily when Kanen started yelling at Jace, come on.. Was there really a point to all this now? When Jace asked for help, she wasn't going to turn him away. Grace felt bad for Jace, putting an arm in front of him cover him from Kanen. Ash already told Kanen, nothing happened. She shook her head. "Kanen, why are you still upset?!" She asked, "There's literally no reason for you to fight anymore." She explained.

"Please, just..go." She said. "He was just trying to help his sister, just like you did." She scanned his face, searching for any sign of him giving up. She lowered her voice, talking to Kanen only, she didn't care if everyone else heard. But maybe he'd calm down. If a calm voice, tried to talk to him. Instead of everyone screaming at him, It'd help. She looked at him pleadingly, "C'mon, we both know this isn't a fair fight to pick." Jace, was.. well.. Jace. She turned her head to look at the scared boy behind her. And back at Kanen, She'd known both of them most of her life, would it help? She hoped so.

Alaska

As Kanen began to step forward she flung her arm out to stop him out of instinct to protect her brother. Realistically, Kanen could have snapped her in half if he really wanted to, but she wasn't going to let him break her brother without a fight. The whole entire situation was fucked.

"Just...don't." Alaska sighed, frowning as Kanen lashed out at the next available person. Turning to check on her brother while he was safe from Kanen's rath, she realized someone must have already helped him out which made her feel even shittier. Now both times Ryder had gotten hurt it had been Ash and Nova to help him while she was too preoccupied with Kanen to notice. What a great sister she was.

"Everyone can fuck off." Alaska shook her head as she walked out of the auditorium to try to find her brother, only to watch as he left with Ash and realize she was now stranded with no ride. It was going to be a long walk home.

Ryder

68747470733a2f2f73332e616d617a6f6e6177732e636f6d2f776174747061642d6d656469612d736572766963652f53746f7279496d6167652f62335a2d416835723868466d43413d3d2d3632313538393038302e3135346431306536346430343161623039343634373132393332382e676966

It was more than awkward for Ash to wrap her arm around him in front of everyone, but there was no way he was going to be able to stumble to his car alone. The concussion from last week had finally gone away and now there was no way he was going to be able to make it to practice anytime soon.

"Thanks for not letting Kanen kill me." He joked, trying to lighten the situation as he followed her into the parking lot. Everything about this situation sucked, he felt responsible for everything that had happened this last week and there was no way he would ever be able to make this up to Ash.

About now was when Kanen realized when he had fucked up. He didn't care much about Grace, or Ash, or Jace (The Coward he is). He knew from the start that they would be upset with this either way. Foolishly though, Kanen hadn't even thought about how Alaska would respond. That seemed to be a recurring problem here. Kanen acted without thinking, and more often than not, Kanen's actions were violent.

Alaska stormed out, Grace was practically begging him to leave at this point, and Ryder and his little entourage were gone now. Kanen stood, feeling alone and out of place. He wasn't really ashamed of what he had done, he was just upset with himself. Again, Kanen had just blindly acted out.

He turned slowly, heading out of the auditorium. Immediately, he saw Alaska just standing there, watching her brother leave with other other two girls. Kanen felt like he needed to say something now, but he wasn't sure what. In all honesty, Kanen wasn't even sure how he was supposed to even feel right now. He just felt numb. Empty.

He wanted a fucking drink.

"I'm sorry." He finally decided on. He didn't really know why he said it though. Kanen was sorry he had beat up Ryder yet again, he was just sorry that he had upset her. Nonetheless, he didn't dare look at Alaska as he muttered those two little words, letting them slip past his lips in near silence.

The brunette didn't acknowledge the approaching footsteps until she heard Kanen speak, her heart sinking at the softness of his voice. It was the first time she'd heard him speak instead of yell in a week. He was absolutely infuriating and the worst part was that she could see the similarities in their personalities, the best and the very worst parts. One of the reasons she had tried to befriend him was because of the similarities between them. It seemed no one understood Kanen and he was constntly being painted as the bad guy, it was something she could relate to. Alaska more than understood the need to break things with your fists when you were broken inside.

"You're a dick...but I get why you'd be mad if Ash had been drunk." She replied, crossing her arms as she finally acknowledged the boy beside her. All the fighting was exhausting, unable to bring herself to be mad at him. She was so tired of being upset, yet she somehow seemed to keep ruining things. This was why she didn't have any real friends.

"Do you ever feel like you break everything you touch?" Alaska spoke softly, turning to finally look at him.

Nova
IlliterateThisHammerkop-small.gif
It didn't come as a shock that practice had, once again, been ruined. Punching, fighting, yelling, that was all to be expected... but Jace yelling for Kanen to break Ryder, yelling at Nova, and then deciding to hide behind some blonde that, honestly, she didn't even know the name of? Now that was uncalled for. It reduced Nova to this melted pile of emotions, sitting were Ryder had been as he left and just staring at Jace's slouched figure, his frame trembling slightly and his eyes shut as she used this girl as a human shield. It was eye opening to say the least, and made something churn in Nova's gut. This man that she adored to her core, who made her feel safe and protected, who made her feel wanted and needed wasn't who she thought he was. The brunette thought that Jace would remain civil, an unbiased party, and yet, here Nova was. Taken aback by the yelling that oozed from the mouth of a West.

Pushing herself up from the ground, Nova sighed. Her hands began to brush off her pants, nose sniffling as she made her way close to the stage. She only came close enough to grab her belongings, eyes glued to the floor as she shouldered her bag and turned to leave. No eye contact was made with Jace; no passing glances and no words spoken. Instead, Nova dragged her feet out to the empty football field, hiked to the top bleacher and perched herself in the corner against the cold metal fencing that lined the white seats. It was there that she decided not to go back into those hallways until lunch, and then she would attend the remainder of her classes. But this? This constant yelling that she was receiving? It was draining her, and it was draining her fast.

Winona Winona

Kane slowly stepped forward as the girl spoke, until he was standing beside her, but not facing her. His steps stopped and Kanen found himself stuffing his hands into his pockets and stareing down at his feet. He understood why she was mad. He'd completely blown things out of proportion now, he had made things worse for everyone involved.

"Do you ever feel like you break everything you touch?"

The words pierced right through him. Immediately his mind jumped back to that night a year ago now. He could practically hear the sound of his shoulder cracking through the bathroom door. Kanen was silent for a long time, just thinking about that one night.

Crack

Crack

Crack

The door had finally come down. Falling at the feet of a corpse....
-~-~-~-~-~-
Kanen snapped back, suddenly remembering that they were talking. "Everything has been broken for a long time now.." Kanen choked. It wasn't really an answer to her question, but it's all he managed to say. Suddenly Kanen wanted to just tell her everything. He wanted someone to listen, to understand him. He felt so tired.

Maybe it was kind of childish. But Kanen wanted someone to hold him and tell him things were ok, that –he– was ok. He felt like he was losing his grip on everything, and frankly, Kanen was fucking terrified. The thought of just going over the edge one day, really taking that drop, it scared the ever living shit out of him, and he felt like that day was coming...

"I'm sorry..." He repeated again. This time he was talking to himself. His eyes clenched shut, teeth grinding together. "I'm sorry.." He repeated again, quieter than before, his voice hardly even a breath passing through his lungs...

Kacey was loving this, sitting on the side of the stage whilst drinking her cup of coffee. She clapped overdramatically, chuckling. It was only her first day and it was turning out beautifully. What a show. "Bravo! Bravo! Good show, everyone"! She cheered, seemingly cheerfully, kicking her legs playfully. Boy, she was glad she had a front row seat.

Grace had agreed to his plans and Alester wanted to tell them to everyone else so they could start but then Kanen bursted into the auditorium. Alester rolled his eyes and jumped of the podium, taking a seat next to Mason, ignoring it all. It was all quite messy but Alester didn't wanted to be involved. He would be the hero another time.

When things started to get out of hand Alester jumped back on the podium, grabbed a mic, put it in a speaker and then pointed the mic at the speaker so it would resonate and create a very irritating high pitch everyone in the auditorium would hear. Alester continued until everyone was silent.

"So listen up everyone, today's practice will be reading your script and then do something else since everyone left again. Next wednesday or so we will try again" He then left the podium to go to Mason again "I think Kanen needs a good drink and talk"

Alaska

Any anger she had left quickly evaporated, replaced by a strong urge to console the clearly upset boy beside her. Alaska was the queen of impulsive angry decisions, she knew exactly where Kanen was coming from no matter how stupid he had acted. It was a terrible trait to have, making any relationship hard to sustain.

“It’s not your fault you know...” She whispered, turning to face Kanen and lifting a hand to rest gently on his face, forcing him to look her in the eye. While she had barely known him for a month, Alaska felt like he was the one person who would understand the twins pain. He was the only person at this school more fucked up than her.

“The world is an unfair place, and I’m so sorry it’s been so shitty to you. No one deserves that. Especially not you, Kanen.”

There was no way Alaska could ever truly understand what Kanen had been through, but she wanted to try her best to help him through it. Even if it backfired on her. There was nothing left for her to lose anymore.

Kanen'a eyes locked with Alaska's as he turned his head. She was gentle, her hands soft. In very way, she was kind. But Kanen stiffened up beneath her touch, the muscles in his neck contracting. "You don't know that.." Kanen muttered.

"You don't know me. You're just some stupid girl." He continued. His natural reaction was of course to push her away, and close himself off. Every instinct in his bones demanded that he leave right then in that very instant. But his heart, cold and alone, couldn't bring himself to walk away. His body screamed for him to run, but Kanen's feet remained planted firmly, standing next to Alaska.

Kanen's face turned to a glare, but his eyes remained soft. His lip trembled, only stopping when Kanen bit the inside of gums, as if his teeth would tear right through them.

"...Stop..."

“I don’t know you, you’re right. But I know what it’s like to feel like you’re not good enough. Like you hurt everyone around you. To stay up and think about how much better everyone would be without you around to destroy everything.” Her voice held steady even as her lip trembled the slightest bit, not giving up even as Kanen insulted her. It was her own favorite defense mechanism, scare them away so they couldn’t hurt you. It would’ve worked on anyone else, but not her.

“You can believe whatever you want, but it isn’t your fault.” She insisted, taking his free hand in her own to try and calm him down. The way he looked at her physically hurt, her chest clenching as she watched him try to hold it all together.

“You won’t scare me away, Kanen.” It was true, at this point if the little brunette hadn’t gone running she never would. Her stubbornness wouldn’t allow her to leave him until she’d mended this broken boy back together.

Angelina was sitting on the side of the auditorium, also watching everything transpire. However, unlike Kacey, Angelina kept her mouth shut. She was the only person in the room that hasn't said anything. Her lips were bit together, occasionally licking them and rubbing her bare legs. But the whole event reminded her of what could have happened if she fell out with Samantha, or vise versa. She looked around for Rory, on occasion, missing him a little, wondering where he was.

Ash
olivia-holt-gif-hunt-3.gif

She was shaking her head, trying not to let the tears fall down her cheeks, and trying to keep herself at least somewhat grounded. Everything that Ash had feared was coming to light, and instead of her being the one that was paying, it was all Ryder. She had tried to convince herself she didn't care about him anymore, not after what had happened, but he was still her friend -- despite everything that had happened. Although now that everyone knew, there was no way for Ash to tell Ryan if -- when -- he woke up that would be in her own way. Which just managed to drag her down some more.

"No problem. I couldn't... I didn't... you didn't deserve to be beaten up over this. It was my fault. I should've gone home Saturday night, instead of coming over. And not drank what I did and..." Ash hesitated mid-apology. Yes, this all felt like her fault, and yet here she was, still standing strong while Ryder was the one injured from it. "And I'm sorry for avoiding you all week. It's just... I didn't know what to do, and I needed to sort through my feelings."

"How did... how did Kanen find out? Did you tell anyone?"

Mason

He glanced at Alester when he suggested getting a drink and talking with Kanen, and then shook his head. "He's sober, remember? Doesn't think anymore. And all he'll do is punch us. Alaska's got this." He hoped... yeah, of course, she would be fine. Mason knew his old friend, and one thing about him was that he would never hurt a girl. So thank goodness for that, he thought, shaking his head at the revelation of all the drama that had just ensued.

Including Ash sleeping with Ryder. To be fair, Mason was a little offended. He had attempted many times to get with her, and she'd always shot him down before he could even really get started. And then she went and slept with Minuteman. Minuteman. Rolling his eyes, Mason limped over towards the edge of the stage and leaned back against it.

"I was going to practice my lines with June, but now..." he shrugged. Oh well.

He was practically shaking once Kanen and Alaska had departed. Jace slowly straightened himself, staring at the ground in horror as he tried to process what had happened. Tears started coming to his eyes. "Ryder... with... Ash... when she was sad." His head snapped up and his gaze dropped onto Grace instead. "Did you... did you know what happened?"

It all came back to Nova. They had left, and that's when Ryan had left Ash and she'd thought he ditched her. And then that womanizing monster swept in and slept with his sister when she was weak and upset and not thinking clearly. If Jace had been there like he originally planned, he could've prevented this. He would've gotten Ash, wrapped her in a blanket, and kept her safe from everyone with ice cream and movies, and no stupid guys.

She watched as the fight slowly dispersed with everyone trying to stop Kanen even though Jace wasn’t that helpful. She frowned as people left once again. This play will never happen at this point, but they have a while. They needed to be positive. However she didn’t know what else to do here. Mostly because the fight had blurred her head.

Expect from Georgia’s thoughts. Consumption. A fire is eating away at people and burning holes into their hearts. She didn’t know why, but she glanced at Raven. Raven was her friend right? Maybe having her tell her secrets, the things consuming her, would help. She looked over at Mason. “We can practice lines another time.” She looked up to Alester. “Sorry I’m going to leave too, I took some pictures of props and I want to upload them.” She then turned to Raven and grabbed her arm. “You’re coming with me.” She started to walk briskly to the doors, Raven following her in tow even if she liked it or not.

Grace put a hand on Jace’s arm, she nodded. “I promise you. That nothing..” she trailed off trying to find the right words. “He didn’t take advantage of her.” She told him.
Grace felt terrible when she saw the tears in his eyes.

He didn’t deserve any of it. “Hey.. you’re a good brother Jace.” She said. He really was, even though he wanted Kanen to beat up Ryder, well it made sense. If Ryder actually.. she shook off the thought, but the sad truth was Grace probably would’ve cheered Kanen on if Ryder actually hurt Ash.

She took a breath, all of this was unnecessary. But at least almost everyone was okay.

Raven shrugged when the fight was over, she felt upset that they didn’t finish practice. Everyone was too wrapped up in their own lives to actually give a shit. Oh well.. we’ll try next time.

She leaned off one of the chairs, as June spoke to Mason. A hint of a smirk on her face when she told him they’ll run lines another time. “Don’t worry about it, Mason. Plently of people practice by themself.” Raven told him with her arms still crossed. She was going to go to Alester and get a copy of a script, for whatever lines she had to learn. But June grabbed her arm, saying something about going with her. She raised a brow.“Yes, ma’am.” Raven wasn’t exactly about to decline that offer. She glanced back at Mason for a split second before deciding she didn’t really care.

Raven had no choice but to follow her out. “So..” she trailed off staring at the redhead as she was being held by her arm. “Did you just want company? Or..” Raven was confused on why she brung her, however not complaining. If it was about company, Raven was just glad she chose her and not.. nevermind. “Alright, MJ. You’ve got me alone. What’s up?” She asked, tilting her head to one side.

June
She was walking briskly one moment until she slowed and eventually paused in the hallway. She let go of her arm and turned around. “Seeing the fight got me thinking. About you know, rage. Well not rage, the one thing associated with rage... fire.” She hugged herself as she thought about Georgia. “It scares me how everyone keeps everything to themselves. It’s not entirely a bad thing, but it’s horrible to go through stuff alone.” She explained. She slowly shook her head and started to walk. “So I think we’re friends right? As friends they should help each other. I’m just curious. Are you going through something right now too?” She asked the girl, taking her time going to the Newspaper room.

‘Again, you flatter me, Elise,’ he said, chuckling from behind his tall latte. ‘My son isn’t as much trouble as he sounds. . . Well, he has his moments and he can certainly be a handful at times. But for the most part he’s been a joy to raise. He’s the reason I get up every morning. I’m a lucky father, you know.’ Then again doesn’t every parent think that to help them sleep better at night?

For a moment they looked up from their cups at the same time and their eyes locked accidentally for a moment. It was awkward but in an inexplicable sort of good way.

When Elise told him the story of how she had left her husband for her career, he could relate to her in a deeply personal way. ‘I know exactly what you mean. My wife. . . I mean, my ex-wife, she never really took that much of an interest in my work,’ he said, lamenting, ‘She was dead against the idea of me taking up this job. I tried to explain to her that that’s the nature of the tenure these days. You’ve got to be a little flexible if you want to get the paycheck. But no, she would have none of it. I guess that was one of the reasons we decided to go our different ways. . .’
