Neck Tie

cQRSpmg.gif

The kicking went on like clockwork, then it stopped.

He saw Casper enter. A blur more than anything. He watched Aaron grab his best friend and smack him, powerless to intervene.

The two Ollila brothers left; Aaron as nonchalantly as he’d entered. Neck Tie found himself alone in the bathroom at last, for better or for worse, whimpering to himself, bleeding onto the piss-stained floor.

Everything fell silent. Only the quiet hum of the bathroom pipes remained, and the rhythmic pattering of the blood from his face hitting the tiles.

Slowly Neck Tie began to collect himself. He gently prodded his own face, and felt the warm blood trickling down his fingers in a continuous stream. Both his hands were trembling. Next, he tested the gap in his teeth with his tongue, trying to assess the different layers of pain and the damage to his mouth. The boy had no sense of how badly he was hurt. All he knew was that he was hurt, and that it was bad.

Finally he tried moving, first squirming, then levering his body up, but it only made the pain many times worse and more unbearable than before. So he stopped struggling, and lay back in the exact spot by the urinals where Aaron had left him. If he had any voice in him he might have cried for help. But he didn't make a sound.

Ash
Lip Than.gif

Seriously? Wow. Okay. Yeah, Ash had been pretty upset after that whole Ryder thing, and she really didn't want to think about Ryder right now. And yeah, maybe she was a mess, but Ash would be damned if she ever sunk this low. To think that Grace actually thought that she would sink that low just made her sick. Maybe at the end of the day, Grace never really was her best friend. She obviously didn't know Ash that well if she thought she was capable of something like this.

She crossed her arms over her chest defensively, narrowing her eyes at Grace. "No. This isn't some petty form of revenge." Ash snapped. "And yeah, I may have been a little drunk, but I know what I saw. And I saw Sawyer kissing JJ." If Ash was anything, it was stubborn with a dash of refusing to admit if she was ever wrong. So she stubbornly stood by her claims and what she had witnessed.

"Don't you think it's a little strange that they're even hanging out right now?" She asked. "I mean, think about it. It's Sawyer talking to JJ. That doesn't seem off to you at all? If you don't believe me, why don't you just go over there and ask her for yourself?" Well, unless Sawyer lied to her, but Sawyer didn't seem like the type of person that could keep something like this a secret from Grace.

Keisha
Keisha.gif

"Seriously? You let your mom tell you what to do?" Keisha asked, one eyebrow lifting up quizzically. Now wasn't that just crazy. "Guess you weren't as bad ass as I thought..." she mumbled quietly, mostly to herself, but definitely just barely loud enough for Carter to hear it. Apparently Keisha had picked the wrong table to sit at, with the wrong girl. That or if this was Westbrook's version of a "bad girl," then Keisha was going to lose her mind in this goody two shoes town.

"Mom moved back." She shrugged, not offering anything else. It was mainly so her grandparents could help out with raising Keisha, and so her mother could get her life back on track. But that wasn't any of Carter's business, nor was it something that Keisha really wanted to deal with it or think about. "Came from LA." Which was way better than here, obviously.

"What about you, Carter?" Keisha asked, putting emphasis on her name. "Have you always been stuck here?"

Ava
Slowly Looking Down.gif

"Oh. Don't recognize you. Then again, I don't really keep tabs on people like you." She replied simply, turning the water off as she finished washing her hands, and then dried them against her pants. Westbrook, like other schools, was notorious for never having paper towels, and the hand dryers hardly ever worked, so Ava had gotten into the habit of always drying her hands off on her pants or her shirt, leaving them stained with water momentarily.

Ava crossed her arms over her chest, looking at this other girl with a calculated expression. She rolled her eyes, her facade of hating people falling easily back into place. "Of course I'm fine. Didn't know someone couldn't take a pee without getting the third degree, though. Good to know. Westbrook: nosier than ever."

Okay, so maybe it was less of a facade, and more of just her straight personality. JJ tended to calm her down, to make her behave at a little more civilly. But JJ was gone now, and Ava had blown her chance to ever keep her again. So she might as well turn back into the person she was before. The uptight, smart student that no one liked.

Jace
Lip Thing.gif

He decided not to mention the fact that he certainly wasn't trying to impress her. For one, she looked super young. Like stupid Petunia Pisser's age. Nothing but a mere child before him, filled with his infinite wisdom of having survived the last few years of high school relatively unscathed. Well, physically unscathed. Emotionally he'd been beaten and kicked every which way. And even physically, he did have a couple bruises that had now faded from his fight with stupid Stu.

Jace had now relaxed for the most part, lulled into a false sense of calm by the girl crossing the room to the piano, and then playing a song. It made him itch to play his own music and sure, Jace had at least dabbled with every instrument in this room, but the only one that truly made him feel something was a guitar. His guitar, now broken and fragmented in the garbage somewhere.

For a moment, his thoughts then drifted back to Nova. He remembered how he had given her one of his guitars, and normally he wouldn't care -- he'd have let her keep it, thrilled by the idea of sharing his music with the world. But now he thought about how she had ambushed him in his room, his place of sanctity, beside Theo and maybe for a moment he wanted to go and yell at her to give him his guitar back, but.... No. Despite everything, he still loved her. He knew he always would.

The song came to an end, and Jace's thoughts faded away. He blinked at the girl, coming back to the present, and forced a faint smile onto his face. "That was really good."

Mason
Sideview.gif

It was weird to see Noah, but also nice. After everything that had happened over the school year so far this year, it was nice to see a familiar face, one that hadn't been part of the drama. Or had punched him. Mason wasn't proud of how many times he'd been punched, broken, and thrown throughout this school year, and luckily, Noah didn't know any of that. It was almost like a fresh start, aside from the fact that Noah already kind of knew him. An easy start.

Mason shrugged. "Same old shit. How are you doing after--" he stopped himself, shaking his head. "Never mind. Forget I fucking said anything. Uh, yeah. I was on my way over there. Just gotta take a piss real quick and then we can go, yeah?" Without really waiting for an agreement from Noah, Mason jogged towards the nearest bathroom.

He stepped inside and no sooner had the faint scent of blood hit him than he caught sight of the small, broken form of little Happy Meal laying on the ground. For a moment, Mason stopped, shocked and silent, and stared down at the boy to see if he was even breathing. His side rose and fell, and Mason let out a breath of relief he didn't know he'd been holding. Fuck. Who had turned his little Happy Meal into a fucking Bloody Meal? Anger washed over him.

"Noah! Get the fuck in here." He yelled out the bathroom door and then crouched down beside Stu, his hands hovering by the boy, but he was afraid to touch him with fear that he'd hurt him more. Fuck, Mason hardly even recognized his face anymore. Holy shit. "Who the hell did this to you?" He asked, the anger returning and drowning out any worry.

"Fuck. We'll get you to the hospital, Stu. I promise. You'll be alright." He reached down, ever so carefully trying to lift Stu into his arms. And maybe it would've been more difficult to scoop up a fourteen-year-old boy, but Mason was fueled by rage and adrenaline. And, well, Stu was a scrawny little shit and barely weighed anything.

He was going to kill whoever destroyed his punching bag.

Adriane
Hair thing.gif

She was exhausted, but she was here and that was what mattered. Adriane had shown up to school, and she was set to try and make a better name for herself. She no longer wanted people shouting Adriwhore at her or any other list of names, (Aidsriane, for example) and she didn't want to have as many enemies. A new league, if you will. No longer a mean girl... maybe.

Lunch time rolled around, and Adriane made her way into the cafeteria. She was talking to an old friend and turned around, laughing at a joke she'd just made, and didn't even notice as she happened to walk into someone. Adriane turned around quickly, apologies flashing across her face. "Oh, I'm so sor--" she was cut off when she stumbled back and noticed the girl's leg.

Or... lack there of. Fuck. This wasn't the way to turn over her new league, or anything. Adriane quickly turned her gaze away from it, meeting the girl's eyes once more. "I'm sorry. I should've watched where I was going."

Noah

Talking with Mason again brought normalcy back into Noah’s life. He felt this weird feeling which could only be described as somewhat nostalgic, even though he really shouldn’t have been feeling like that. He was back, and he had his ‘best’ friend back, which meant that things were already going better than he had anticipated the night before.

Once Mason mentioned Ashley, or more exact, the drama, Noah didn’t know how to feel. Thankfully, Mason quickly realized what he had done and apologized in his ‘Mason’ way, with a few curse words and without actually saying sorry. The fact that Mason mentioned Ashley didn’t bother Noah as much, but it made him remember her, which wasn’t good at all. It definitely brought out the worst in him, and he really didn’t want to go back to how he was half a year ago.

Noah was ready to go eat whatever his mom packed for him in the morning, but Mason had to go to the bathroom, so he just waited outside for Mason to do his business.

It wasn’t long before Noah heard Mason calling him. He was shocked and was reluctant to enter the bathroom, not knowing what he was going to walk in on. After about three seconds of standing before the bathroom door and debating whether to go in or not, Noah pushed the door open only to find a guy laying in a pool of his own blood, and Mason lifting him up.

Considering how much blood covered the floor and the sink, Noah questioned if the guy was still alive. It looked like a scene from Carrie, except this was real human blood. Noah didn’t hate blood but didn’t like it either and this scene was definitely going to haunt him later in his dreams.

Even though he was obviously supposed to help Mason, Noah couldn’t get himself to move. He was stuck, but the door shutting behind him snapped him out of whatever trance he was in.

“Mason, what the hell?!” Noah yelled while looking at Mason in confusion.

Ana had been so engrossed in the music, she had forgotten there was someone else in the room. His sudden voice made her jump and she couldn't help but look over to him. She had never actually played in front of anyone before and was pretty embarrassed. To make things worse, it's not as if she could thank him right then and there. And now it would feel even more awkward to get up from her place at the piano and go over to him just to show him the written word of Thanks. So, she was at a crossroads, unsure of what to do and feeling more awkward as the moments went on. Her eyes darted to the clock. Well shit. Lunch had barely begun and there was plenty of time left, which could both be a good and a bad thing. Her eyes darted back to the piano and she longed to play it again, but the urge had left. Now she knew someone was actively paying attention, she couldn't bring herself to play again. Now she was feeling worse and starting to feel like a burden.

She rushed to get up, slinging her back over her shoulder, and prepared to leave. She had taken a few steps towards the door when she felt it, luckily. Sometimes she wasn't able to feel it at all and it would happen out of the blue, but this was one of the lucky times. She was barely able to notice, but it was still enough. Already her heart sank and she kind of panicked. She moved any of the chairs, stands, and random things out of the way. She looked over at the boy as she pulled her wallet from her back pocket. She retrieved a small business card out and held it up to him before laying down flat on the ground. She put the business card on the ground next to her bag, closed her eyes, and waited.

Waiting was always the hardest part because she could never know exactly when it started until it was underway. It took a couple minutes. but eventually her body started to seize. Though, her seizures weren't usually as intense as the typical ones. Her body arched and tensed and then almost looked like it was vibrating. It hurt, it always hurt. But, there was nothing she could do. It usually only lasted a few minutes, but sometimes it would last longer. She wouldn't really know until her body settled.

While Ian casually moved past the conversation about the West sister, the brunette couldn't help but let her mind linger on the subject for a little longer. It still amazed her how quickly this all had happened, her breakup with Jace to her relationship with Ian, and part of her couldn't help but feel slightly bad about everything. In her heart of hearts, she still ached thinking about the blonde beanie boy, as he was truly the first one to make sure Nova felt safe and loved and appreciated in a relationship, the first one to open her up to such possibilities of a healthy love life. And it wasn't like that all went away when her and Ian go together, in fact, maybe it was still a fresher wound than she had previously anticipated it being... it definitely was. Memories of the bonfire and of homecoming and being serenaded by the lanky blonde boy began invading her mind at a million lightyears per second, and while it was more than overwhelming while sitting next to her new boyfriend, the barrage of emotions was also somehow comforting? It wasn't like she had fully rid Jace from her mind, from her life. So many of his things still lingered in that bag in the corner of her room, t-shirts, his guitar and- oh shit, his guitar.

Half focusing on Ian's beautifully painted picture of finding art in everyday life, half panicking about returning her ex-boyfriend's things, Nova quickly pulled out her phone and opened a new text message, flicking through her contacts before finding the one with a yellow heart emoji next to it. She'd have to change that... at some point.

To: Jace 💛
Hi, I'm sorry to bother you. I just have a few of your things that I thought you might want back, I don't want to keep them from you. I just changed the strings on your guitar month or so ago, not that it matters, just letting you know. Anyway, I can come over or you can come over or I can bring them to school just uh yeah. Let me know. I hope you're doing well,

Nova quickly sent the message and locked her phone soon afterwards, shoving it into her pocket before resting her elbows on the table, hazel eyes flicking to Ian. He really did have an incredible mind, a caring one, one that made people want to be around him and his infectious smile. And if anything, she was lucky to have him, right? "If songwriting doesn't work out for some odd reason, you could be a poet." The brunette chuckled, before turning again, not really saying much else about the proposition he had laid before her. It was hard for the petite girl to find art in every day life like her boyfriend managed to... it didn't come so easy to her. Most of her artwork and music came from deep thought, sometimes sadness, but mostly contemplation. And Nova could feel it in her stomach that she would be needing to pick up a guitar soon after returning Jace's... it was about to be a very interesting time for her brain and her music. In fact, it was already settling in.

Grace
tumblr_inline_pk8vxwBWfR1t9ndkh_1280.gif

Grace looked away from Ash as she fought for her 'truth.' She felt bad for accusing her for lying. But c'mon. It was Sawyer. It just wasn't possible. "They're hanging out because--" There really was no reason for the two to be hanging out. As much as Grace hates the 'status quo.' Sawyer was no-where in the same social clique as JJ. Despite Grace knowing her, Sawyer just wasn't the type to befriend a cheerleader unless, well, she liked her. Grace being the truth to that small statement.

She hesitated and looked towards Sawyer.

This wasn't just any random girl that was telling her either, it was Ash. Even though she doubted her, it's hard to not believe someone you've known almost all your life. She trusts Ash, of course she does. It's just... "Ask her for myself. Yeah, I'm gonna go over there and ask my girlfriend if she kissed JJ." That didn't matter, Sawyer was gonna laugh and say no, and all of this would be done.

Right. Of course.

"I'll come back with the verdict, and I'll tell you were wrong. Maybe then we can settle whatever the hell is happening with us." She was a little annoyed, yes, because... there was really no way this was true in the first place.

Or that Sawyer would keep this from her, right?

Grace walked over to Sawyer and JJ, with a last look towards Ash. "Can I talk to you?" She glanced towards Juliette which was most likely a glare. "Alone, please." JJ's eyes flickered between them. Once Juliette had walked away, she waited a moment before asking. Shaking her head at the idea in the first place. "So, Ash told me something. And I don't think it's true, because... like, it's not. Right? Oh. I should probably, uh." Rambling.

"Did you kiss JJ?" She sputtered out the words, watching Sawyer carefully.

JJ rolled her eyes at Sawyer. Please, the only high road JJ ever took was... huh. Maybe she never really took the high road before. That doesn't mean that was going to change now, there wasn't any way that Sawyer was going to change her mind. Her eyes widened in surprise at her offering to help. Not that she was going to accept it in the first place, but an extra hand could be helpful. A smirk came across her face, one might consider it a bit devilish. But nevertheless. Juliette has her plans. "Maybe if you're lucky, I'll include you in the plans."

She opened her mouth to test out an idea, it could've involved a little breaking and entering. Or y'know, it couldn't of. Who knows really.

However, she didn't get that chance before Grace came up to them. "Oh, please, be my guest. She's awfully boring. Sweet, but boring." Juliette raised her eyebrows at Sawyer, Grace seemed a little off and... well, that seemed like something she didn't want to be involved in right now. Her gaze fell on Zach once again and made her way to him, taking a seat next to him.

"Hey, stranger."

"The fire seems, extremely interesting. But is it cool if I steal your attention for a bit?" She smiled towards the blue-eyed boy.

Raven
tumblr_inline_pk2f15m8Eg1tkzrhy_250.gif

Well, she took Mason's advice. And... called way more than she probably should've, Raven wouldn't be surprised if there was 100+ missed calls on Nancy's phone, but after the 105th. She finally picked up. So, it wasn't as bad as she was expecting. Turns out, it was Nancy's phone that was broke and not Raven's. That small sigh of relief flooded through her only for a moment, that was until she told her Abuela wasn't feeling well.

It was just a cold though. That's what Nancy said, so, that's what she believed. The scary part was over, and Raven can relax. Drink. Party. Whatever she wanted to do. Now that all the pressure was off of her, she can finally let go and enjoy herself. Back to the old Raven. Simple.

She might've pre-gamed a bit earlier prior to the bonfire, a little intoxicated more than others. But that didn't matter. Who cared? Let her have her fun.

It wasn't a surprise she saw the blonde looking a bit down. This seemed to be a routine for them. Raven walked over with drink in hand. "Hey, Barbie. Why the sad face?" She nudged her with her free hand, with a small pout on her face.

"You're too pretty to be pissed off. What's the matter?"

Tatum was taken aback by the girls aggressive response and she wasn't fond of it. She stepped back a little sizing up the girl determine if she was worth being rude towards. She rolled her eyes in return at the girl, "Didn't know asking a question gained a bitch." Tatum retorted. She wasn't going to let another girl make her feel bad fro being nice. Two could play the game of being bitchy and this girl didn't even had reason to be rude towards her. This girl seemed like the alpha type and like everyone just did what she wanted to avoid any problems but that wasn't Tatum, she wasn't one that accepted being bullied or having someone be rude without reason.

Her lunch time had become more interesting now thanks to this new interaction with this mystery girl, "Maybe your attitude is why you're having some unknown issue." Tatum wanted to call this girl out for her attitude. She was ready to lose it on her but that wasn't who she was. She wasn't one to cause a fight but she wasn't silent about how she was feeling. She moved closer to the mirror moving the girl out of the way in a manner that would anger most anyone. She seemed like someone who would either lose her mind and react negativly or react in a manner that was shocked but she respected it. Tatum was taking her chances and hoping that her attitude wouldn't come back to bite her in the ass.

Caleb
4B4D.gif

The ski trip was incredibly boring, for Caleb anyway. For everyone else... it seems like a lot happened there. Oh well. It wasn't anything that invovled him for a change, and the rumors around school had completely forgot about his so-called 'cheating' on Serena. That never happened, but he wasn't ever going to change her mind so, he couldn't do much about it. Or... what other girls thought about him. But if he was being honest, there was probably no girl actually interested in him.

Or at least interesting enough to hold his attention. But that wasn't the point.

Caleb was walking by with a lunch tray looking for an empty table, he would sit with the 'jocks.' But he really wasn't in the mood for all that. Walking past the cheerleader's table, he wasn't paying much attention, the tray was halfway off the table and his hip had hit the end of hit. Splattered the contents onto the floor. He placed his on tray on the table and turned to the redhead. "I am, so, sorry. I wasn't paying attention." He didn't have much money, but he wasn't going to do that to someone.

"I can buy you another."

Carter just rolled her eyes letting out a small laugh. "You're really naive aren't you?" A small smirk crossed her face as she slid her rather large book off the table and into her backpack. "You learn when you have to deal with assholes daily, not every fight is worth it." Carter put one hand beneath her chin and brought her voice down to a whisper. "I get to do anything, and everything I want. As long as I keep up the presence of a goody two shoes." Carter dropped her hand leaning back against the chair crossing her arms across her chest. "And that means, keep my grades up."

"If that is all I have to do to be able to go out every weekend, drink and smoke what I want, do whatever and..." She looked over her shoulder surveying who was around and then back at Keisha. "and well, whoever I want." A sly smirk crossed her face as she watched one of her old hook ups walk passed. Watching the girl walk by from over Keisha's shoulder. "Even if she doesn't approve of some of them. She'll ignore it, as long as I keep face." Carter shrugged people didn't get it, she felt like no one had a mother like hers. Hated her for who she was, and only cared about how the rest of the world viewed her.

Carter stopped listening to Keisha and her story, she was over it. Spoiled brat that didn't have to work for anything in her life. Kids were stupid and young. They didn't seem to understand that life wasn't about breaking every rule possible. Carter had begun to zone out she ran a hand through her hair, breathing out loudly.
"Westbrook born and raised unfortunately." Carter rolled her eyes, she couldn't wait to be out of Westbrook. Too much shit, too much drama.

Neck Tie

Bx2XnEq.gif

Neck Tie had never been so glad to see Mason before.

When Mason asked who had done this to him, and when he scooped up his neck, the boy started crying. He turned his head to hide himself from the world, using Mason to shield himself from the bright fluorescent light. Then he sobbed into the older boy’s shirt, his hands clutching at Mason’s sleeves, begging for help.

He cried and cried, and blood and snot and tears and spit and everything was all over Mason’s shirt. He clung to the older kid tightly, he was scared and wouldn’t let go of him. Mason said he’d take him to hospital. Neck Tie nodded. Sure he hated hospitals, but right now there was no other place he’d rather be.

He thought Aaron would kill him. He didn’t want to die.

They soon discovered that the boy couldn’t stand on his own feet. With some support he might make it outside -- he just wanted to get out of here, as far away from Westbrook High as possible. While the older kids decided what to do with him, Neck Tie caught himself in the mirror. He saw and winced at the state of himself. He'd never seen so much blood before in his life. Quickly he turned his head away once more, hiding in Mason’s shirt as usual, hoping this had all been a bad dream.

He hadn't stopped whimpering. It hurt. Everything hurt.

His backpack was lying strewn across the floor, some of his school books spilling out, his favourite Liverpool FC pencil case mingling with the blood. There was another kid there. A stranger. Neck Tie hid from him too. He never wanted anyone to see him like that.

Zach sipped on a beer just taking in the festivities of everyone who was drunk around him. Someone was trying to start a chugging contest, some girls were finding themselves on others laps. Dares were going on, others were giggling over secrets. And the innocent kids making s'mores over the fire because that was still fun to them. Zach smiled as he watched two of the girls staring at him, it was something he was used to. One of them was nudging the other and as she got up to make her way over to him, Zach was visited by a very welcomed face.

"Juliet." A small smile crossed his face. "I haven't seen you since we got up here." He moved his seat closer to hers leaning in just a bit. Zach welcomed the distraction, he looked over to the girl who had started to make her way over prior to JJ's arrival, she looked rather defeated. He felt bad, but in his defense it was probably for the better, she would of wanted more from him than he would ever be interested in. "You've always got my attention Juliet." He smirked at the brunette next to him. "What's up?"

Samantha was so excited for her first day at this new school. Normally, most people wouldn't be, but Sam always liked to look on the bright side. She had picked out an impeccable outfit the day before, mostly to compliment her new hair. But the time she was ready, she was pretty proud of her overall appearance. Her hair was straight and stark white with a little bit of icy blue decorating the roots. Her outfit was a black black lacy dress with some heels to match. Some pink lipgloss and just enough eye liner and mascara to make her eyes pop. It was simple, but she knew it looked good.

When it was time to leave for school, she was more than ready. Her first few classes passed without a hitch. She did the customary greeting to her classmates, learned her teachers names and got all the textbooks and class supplies, and had even found some time to ask about clubs and sports.

Finally, it was lunch at last. There was a lot more variety than she had thought and she was pleasantly surprised at the selection. She grabbed a tray full of food and turned to face the masses. There were plenty of places to sit and most of the tables were full already, but she had her eyes set on one in particular.

Mostly jocks, they mostly laughed and joked around, the typical stereotype of a group of sports fanatics. But, what was that? One of them just got up to take his tray to the trash. Perfect timing. Without a second to spare, she quickly made her way over to the table and took the empty seat. She could hear their conversation drop as they all turned to look at her. With a smile, she started stabbing at the food on her tray.

"Sounds like a lot of fun, I wish I had been here for that. Do you guys go on trips like that often?" She looked up and looked at all of them, who seemed pretty speechless. "Oh, I'm Samantha, by the way. You can call me Sam if you want. I'm new here."

Sawyer

Sawyer kind of chuckled at JJ. If she was lucky JJ would just leave her out of this whole mess all together. The last thing she needed was to get into more trouble than she already was going to. Just as Sawyer was about to make a biting retort, Grace appeared out of no where. Sawyer offered er a smile that faded only slightly when she spoke. With a raise of her brow, Sawyer simply nodded at Grace. She made a face at JJ for calling her boring as she walked away. After JJ was gone, Sawyer turned her full attention back to her girlfriend. Sawyer watched her speak with a slight tilt as Grace rambled on a little. Something about Ash telling her....oh great...wonderful. Please don't let this be about-

Did you kiss JJ?

Ash. It was Ash. Why couldn't people just come talk to Sawyer first? That would've been super helpful right about now.

"No." Sawyer answered, not untruthfully, though she paused for a moment and let a breath out through her nose before continuing, "She kissed me. Which is what I was trying to tell you earlier before she dragged me off to tell me she wasn't gay." She snorted and shook her head, "It's not a big deal, I found her crying out on the porch about Bryan and Lexi. I felt bad and she was super emotional. It was all a big misunderstanding is all." Sawyer nodded her head resolutely. A misunderstanding. JJ had mistook Sawyer's friendliness for something romantic because of her emotional state. That's all. But now it kind of felt more like she was reassuring herself more than Grace.

"I pulled away and we've handled the whole thing. She's back to being herself. I think she's planning on getting back at Bryan, Whatever that means."

Mood: Tired | Interacting with: Vanden ( Direct Timing Direct Timing )

Coughing, Jaehwa pushed to roll out from under Vanden, laughing furiously. "Don't just fall onto me like that!" he gasped, pulling himself up to sit at the foot of the bed. He complied and handed Vanden the brochure on the nightstand. "Is there anything good to eat, or is it all junk?" They were eventually able to settle and pick some things out to order from room service. After a while of waiting in awkward silence, the television the only source of noise, the food came.

Now, scary movies were not Jaehwa's thing. He jumped at every single scare, throwing curse words around like they were nothing. Never did he actually scream, though he was close to doing so quite a few times (his pride refused to let him). "It's freaking me out, too," Jaehwa confirmed as if it wasn't obvious.

There was no denying his relieved expression once the movie was over. "Got it, I'll check." Jaehwa slid off the bed and headed over to the small closet. There wasn't anything there and he let out a sigh of relief, but it wasn't long after that a smile crept onto his face.

"Holy shit!" he yelled suddenly, slamming the door closed and rushing for the desk chair. Pushing the chair up against the door, he turned around to face Vanden with wide eyes and a panicked complexion. "I don't know if I'm just too drunk to tell but I think there might be...," he paused, taking in a deep breath, "a few hangers and the safe in there." His smile returned and he giggled some more. "Let's just get to sleep."

The idea was... odd. Sleep here? In all honesty, though, he was too drunk to make it back up those stairs right now. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad to spend the night here. He was tired, anyway. "Alright," he said, pulling off his shoes and stretching before climbing into the bed with Vanden. "Two hours? Damn... No, how about my mom and I give you a ride? She'll be here in the afternoon, so we can sleep in. Besides, it's not fair to make you get up at such an unholy hour."

"Yeah, well, I haven't had much free time." Most of her time up here had been spent with... Ava. So much for a waste. She shook her head at the whole thing. It was no doubt he'd heard about everything with Bryan and Lexi, drama tends to float around WestBrook, it only drowns when another is brought up.

"Oh. Always? Hm. Good to know." She grinned, narrowing her eyes playfully at Zach. Maybe, a small part of her had wished she never went out with Bryan in the first place. Okay, that's a total lie. A huge part of her. Why couldn't she just have someone like Zach? He was sweet, and kind, and... well, her gave her attention.

It was so hard to get Bryan's attention. 'Oh, sorry, had a family thing.' 'Sorry, JJ can't come with you to the dinner, I want to go to the party and cheat on you with a dollar store blow up doll.' Okay. Maybe he didn't say the last part. But you get her point. "I... just wanted to see what you were up to." She bit her lip and glanced around the bonfire before her gaze fell onto him again.

"Hey. Uh, did you know?" JJ was hoping she didn't have to offer any context, she didn't want to talk about it any further, she just wanted to know if Zach kept the truth from her too.

Grace let out a sigh through her nose. See! Of course she didn't. There was no way that Sawyer had cheated on her, Ash was just being-- Her eyes snapped to Sawyer's when she continued. 'She kissed me.' Okay, that... makes a total difference.

"Oh."

She looked in the direction where JJ had wandered off to, and back to Sawyer.

Maybe, Sawyer had a point. Maybe, it didn't really count as cheating. How was she supposed to feel about it? She didn't say anything for the first few seconds and she stood silent. She didn't know what to say, she was just... trying to process whatever was happening. "So... she kissed you." Grace nodded understandingly.

"That was like... a week ago. If it was just a misunderstanding, why didn't you tell me? Why did I have to hear it from Ash and not my girlfriend?" And then it hit her. It was just Sawyer being Sawyer. She scoffed in disbelief, shaking her head. Whether or not Sawyer was going to tell her, it didn't matter.

"Why don't you ever tell me anything?" She crossed her arms defensively, most of the people were near the bonfire. Where as Sawyer and Grace were ways away. It wasn't as private, but she didn't really care if anyone else paid attention to the two. "You leave me in the dark about everything. God, it makes me feel like I can't--" Grace sighed, wanting to watch her words.

But it came out anyway.

"Like I can't trust you."

Sawyer

This wasn't going as well as she'd wanted it to. Of course it wasn't. Sawyer was a complete idiot and she knew it. She honestly didn't even understand herself why she hadn't told Grace the second it had happened. It was a dumb decision and she knew that but...know Grace was sitting here telling her she felt like she couldn't trust her. She was right, of course she was right. Sawyer was terrible about telling Grace anything that pertained to her or their relationship. Maybe it was just because she felt like it was better for her not to know or maybe...fuck she didn't know. She barely understood her own reasoning for things and that was definitely not good right now. How was she supposed to defend herself in an argument that she agreed with?

No.

This was completely stupid. If Ash hadn't gone a ran her mouth Sawyer would've had this whole thing under control by now. Blaming things on Ash only slightly helped anything and soon Sawyer found herself with the blame again. This wasn't Ash's fault. Hell, it wasn't even JJ's. This was solely on Sawyer and she knew it. The only conceivable thing that she could think to do now was agree with Grace and try to pick up the pieces as she went. She wasn't about to argue this with no platform to stand on.

"I don't know why I didn't tell you." Sawyer ran a hand through her hair, "I'm an idiot. But I would never do anything to purposefully hurt you." She took a step forward to take Grace's hands, "You know that right? You can. You can trust me." Sawyer gave Grace a sort of pleading look.

"I'm sorry, I'm an idiot. Can you forgive me? I'll be better. I promise."

Sawyer probably thought it was better for her to not know about the kiss. She didn't understand that. But then again, she didn't understand a lot of things Sawyer has done, as much as Grace didn't want to admit it. Her girlfriend was secretive.
Grace isn't stupid. She knows that Sawyer didn't mean to hurt her. Nobody means to hurt anyone they love, it just happens. "No, I know."

Grace didn't say anything about trust, because she didn't want to lie.

She didn't trust Sawyer, and the more she thought about it just made it clear. That's why she'd been so paranoid with Hunter, and Hunter wasn't even someone she had to worry about. Not that JJ was an issue, at this point, Grace could care less about her. Because it wasn't even about Juliette, or the kiss, or Hunter. Or... even Natalie.

It was about their relationship.

She watched Sawyer's hands take her own, her eyes lingering on the ring before she met her eyes with her own. Sometimes, apologies hurt more than the actual actions. Grace opened her mouth to say something and closed it. It wasn't that she didn't have any words. It's because she didn't want to say them. Ignoring the tears in her eyes. She released her hands from Sawyer's grasp, pulling off the ring and placing it in her open palm.

"Sawyer, I... I can't." It wasn't about forgiveness. She forgave her, she loves her, how could she not forgive her? Grace just couldn't see herself being with someone she couldn't trust, and the longer they stood together, the more it proved it.

"I'm sorry, I just-- I can't."

590127"JESUS WHAT WAS IN THERE?!" Vanden said sitting up suddenly. After Jaehwa said the part about the hangers Vanden threw a pillow at him. "You fucker! I was about to grab you and run for it. Now get your ass in bed." When Jaehwa came to bed Vanden rolled over to face him. He stared at Jaehwa's sharp Korean features for a moment. "Are you sure Jae? That would be fucking great, because I don't see how I'm going to be able to get up in two hours..." Vanden smiled at Jae. "I can give your mom some gas money too. I think I have like five dollars left..." Vanden pulled the covers over Jae's shoulder so he would stay warm once he was in bed. His eyes were heavy and he laid his arm over Jae. Vanden's face dimmed. "Sucks having to go back so soon...I would have liked to have stayed much longer...ya know, like a year or two." Vanden said giving Jae a small smile. "Come here Jae." Vanden grabbed Jaehwa and pulled him over so that Vanden was now holding the smaller boy in his arms. "Mmm, you're warm, Jae." Vanden said with a pleasing tone. Vanden put his hand through Jaehwa's hair a few times to relax his friend. Soon his heavy eyes closed shut and he was breathing loudly.

Sawyer stared at the ring in her hand like she didn't understand what it was for a few moments. Her heart jumped up into her throat and choked the breath out of her before sinking to the pit of her stomach and making it churn. The hand that held the ring shook. This was her promise. A promise that Grace had now given back to her. Sawyer could tell this wasn't about JJ. She wasn't blind. She sucked in a breath and it came out ragged and slow, so incredibly slow. Everything seemed to crawl to a stand still for that moment. It would've reminded her of that night in her bedroom after the college trip, if it weren't for the way her heart was breaking. Suddenly she wanted that back. She wanted her bed sheets and Grace tangled up in them. She wanted to hear her say 'I love you' for the first time again. God, Sawyer wanted a fucking time machine and maybe then she could fix this mess. It was only when she saw a tear hit her hand that she realized she was crying.

Finally, Sawyer looked up at Grace with clouded brown eyes. This wasn't happening. There was no way. Sawyer loved Grace. She loved her, god damnit. Sawyer had been so very sure that she was going to marry the girl standing in front of her. So sure in fact that her father had already started making a fucking wedding scrapbook. This was impossible. They were not breaking up. No. Sawyer locked her jaw and took a few short breaths trying to calm herself momentarily. She closed her fist around the ring. This ring that she'd sold one of the few things she had left of her mother for and she shook her head.

"No." Sawyer stepped forward taking Grace's hand once more and dropping the ring down in it only to close Grace's fist over it, "No, god damnit." Her sudden moment of resolve fell away and the tears returned, she brought Grace's fist to her mouth a shut her eyes as tight as she could. This was a dream. All she had to do was fucking wake up.

Wake up. Wake up. WAKE THE HELL UP.

But she didn't. When Sawyer opened her eyes again she was still standing in the middle of the cold as hell mountains with Grace looking at her like she was someone else. Because this wasn't a dream. Oh god. This is real. Fuck. Fuck.

"Please." Sawyer voice was barely above a whisper behind Grace's hand,"Please, Grace. You keep this ring, I-I sold my mother's broach to buy it. I love you. Please, please, I can't-" Her voice broke with a fresh wave of tears, "Let me do better. Please, god, let me do better."

If there's a God that exists don't let her do this.

She stared after Grace until Raven pulled her out of her thoughts. Her gaze turned to Raven as she spoke, and Ash let out a sigh. "You're right." She said, forcing a bright smile to her face. Whatever. Who cared if Grace was too naive to believe her? Who cared if Ryder had left, just like every other boyfriend Ash had ever had? Who cared anymore?

Not her.

"Want to get out of here and hit the town, maybe? I'm thinking lots of shots. There's a bar downtown that I heard doesn't card you." And partying with people that weren't these people sounded absolutely perfect, especially with someone as sweet and perfect and amazing as Raven. Raven, who was probably just as broken by Alaska as Ash was by Ryder.

"I'll by and we can take, like, an Uber down there." Well, she wouldn't buy. Her mother's credit card would buy. Fuck her mother. She could afford to pay for Ash and Raven to get drunk.

Zach listened intently to Juliette, it wasn't like he had been trying to find her either. He had other friends up here and spent his time snowboarding, which had been the main reason he was up here. Maybe it wasn't the same for most of the students who came up, everyone was looking forward to the lack of supervision and straight up drinking for days.

Zach winked back playfully at JJ his smile growing, she was fun to be around that was for sure, always wondering how Bryan had even ended up with a girl like that.
"Whenever you need me JJ, I'll back you up any day." He watched as her expression changed and dropped starring into the fire. It was unusual for JJ to seem so... Down. He had seen her upset before, but this seemed different.

Did he know? Did he know what.
"What do you mean?" He furrowed his eyebrows together. "Could you give me a bit more direction?" There was a lot of things he knew, but he wasn't even sure what she was getting at.

Mads looked over to the girl beside him, a little confused but mostly impressed with the guts to sit down at a random table that was already deep in conversion. Not many people would be willing to do that. He turned to the blond sitting beside him "Honestly I don't have the answer to that, I've only been here for a couple of months." He smiled widely. "There tends to be a lot of parties though, relatively often." Westbrook tended to be pretty wild, there was always a party and always a party with drama. Something always had to be going on in Westbrook.

He held out his hand towards her as she introduced herself. "Madison, but everyone calls me Mads." He ran a hand through his hair. "Where are you from?" Mads adjusted himself in his seat as he turned his body back to his food, they only got so much time to eat at lunch.

Jace

He'd ignored the young girl for a moment while she played the piano, his gaze turning down to his phone as it beeped. Jace was thinking maybe it was a friend, but he was brutally reminded that he had no friends. Everyone he cared for had abandoned him and instead, flashing across his screen was the last person he wanted to think about. Nova. Tears pricked at the edge of his vision as he read over the text, again and again, solidifying her words in his thoughts. It was really over now. Was it wrong of him that he still had been banking on this little hope that maybe he wasn't gay, and maybe he could get back with Nova and fix everything? It felt wrong but at the same time, all he wanted to do was be back with her. Everything had been simple, had made sense, and he'd been happy.

Just not... maybe... physically attracted to Nova. Oh hell, what was wrong with him?

Hey. Keep the guitar. Give the other stuff to your new boyfriend and have him give it to Ash. It hurts too much to see you right now.

His finger hovered over the send button for a moment, and then he clicked it. It was done. Everything was done. Jace knew all about Ian -- Ash had angrily told him about what happened on the way home -- and it had just made him feel worse. Maybe he'd fooled himself the whole time, thinking that Nova loved him and cared for him as much as he had for her. If she did care so much, wouldn't she still be as heartbroken as he was? It hadn't even been a week since they'd broken up, and she was already in a new relationship.

The screeching of chairs being moved caused Jace to look up from his phone at the girl in the room. He watched, confused, as she pushed things out of her way, and then held a card out to him before laying on the ground. What the... was this some kind of weird religious thing? Was she an alien? Oh my god, was she being taken back to an alien world now?

Instead, her body started to seize. Jace had never seen a seizure, but he didn't need to to know exactly what was happening. Panicked, he jumped out of the chair he'd been seated in, hurrying over to her. He looked down at her for a moment, wondering what to do, then he picked up the card, reading over it. Seriously? He was expected to just... leave her?

So he slowly sank to the ground, pulling his legs up to his chest while he watched, and waited, hoping that the girl would be fine.

Ian's eyes moved about the cafeteria, occasionally resting on a face he recognized before moving away again. It was interesting to him to think of all the stories each individual had to tell, each with a slightly different point of view. He was drawn from his contemplation by a light in his peripheral. It was Nova's phone. He averted his eyes and busied himself with pulling out a folded up physics notesheet from his pocket. Obviously he was curious about what she was doing but he'd seen too many relationships fall apart from being too nosy and paranoid of what the person's significant other was doing. If it was important for him to know, she would tell him, hopefully. They both had their own lives that didn't necessarily involve each other and that was perfectly fine. The brief moments of silence were a little unsettling to Ian considering how much he surrounded himself with noise, but he was content just sitting there as long as Nova was by his side. She had a wonderful effect on him that was always so calming. Noise and movement always felt like a need to the teenager, but the brunette next to him seemed to quelled that need.

The Evans boy tried to focus on figuring out his notes on springs, partially because he truly didn't understand them, partially to let his girlfriend do what she needed to do. After a few sideways glances however he noticed Nova seemed pensive however and it was eating away at him. If there was anything he could do to put her mind at ease as she did for him Ian would do it. He gently reached out and put a hand on her back. "Everything okay? You seem...not distant but there's definitely something on your mind. Anything I can do for you?"

Green eyes scanned over the petite girl as Ian offered a soft smile. He genuinely wanted to help in any way he could, even if the way to do that was to just shut up and leave it alone. Sierra had somewhat told Ian about her talk with Nova on Christmas Eve. His sister couldn't remember all of it but she remembered telling Nova about Ian's desire to help people. Hopefully his girlfriend would remember that conversation and know that he wasn't just offering help out of a sense of duty, he was doing it because he actually cared. txlos txlos

Grace

Sawyer was making this all too hard. She couldn't deal with this. Clenching her jaw tighter, she avoided Sawyer's gaze and focused elsewhere. Holding back whatever tears hadn't of fallen already. She didn't want to see Sawyer cry, or hurt. But she knew that there was no avoiding that. And that just made it ten times worse.

There wasn't a way to dull the pain in her heart, which only broke more when she finally met her eyes and noticed her tears falling. Her pleads for her to be better. She didn't even know that Sawyer had sold her mother's things for the ring. And that just proved her point more.

Sawyer loved her, she loved her so much that she was willing to withhold the truth with just about anything. There was no changing that. Or 'being better.' Grace killed her to see her crying because of her. She wanted to wipe away her tears, to hug her, to kiss her and tell her it was okay. But she couldn't because it wasn't.

Nothing was okay about this.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She spoke low. Gripping the ring tighter in her hand. She'll keep the ring if it'll help her, but it'll in no way help Grace get over it. "Please don't hate me. I-" She shook her head as the tears she was holding back fell free.

Softly taking her hands away from Sawyer. "I'm sorry." Her voice gave way and cracked mid-sentence, but she couldn't stay here any longer. Grace turned around and kept walking, she didn't want to turn around. Her thoughts weren't her actions and she turned her head to get a last glance at her girlfriend--

Ex-girlfriend.

Juliette smiled at Zach. Gosh, how was one guy seemingly so perfect? It was unfair how she got the bad pick of the litter with Bryan. Her smile faded soon after and she distracted herself with checking out her manicure. Damn, she'd really needs one. Maybe she'll go with--

Nevermind.

She didn't have anyone to go with.

Maybe... she'll... ask Sawyer, or something... yeah. Refocusing on Zach, it was either he was playing dumb, or he was just being genuine and he really didn't know. She went with the second option because she knew he was one of the good ones. Despite what others think about her, Juliette was an excellent judge of character. At least... she thinks so. "Eh. Nevermind."

"So, what's a pretty guy like you doing all alone?" She teased, laughing at her cheesy attempt of a flirt.

Raven grinned. Even if Ash wasn't being genuine, it was better off that she could at least attempt to make her smile and succeed. Whether it was a bit forced or not. It still meant something at least. "Of course, I'm always right." She stated with an eyebrow raise.

Her surprise was written on her face when she'd invited her out. And, well, Raven had said she would have fun tonight. So, why not? "You don't have to convince me. I'm all for getting out of here."

"But we're splitting the bill." It didn't matter if she was going out with the richest person in the world, Raven didn't want to seem dependent. She worked for her money, she can handle a few shots. Money or tolerance, she means both. It didn't take long for the two to get an Uber, or the... terrible bar downtown apparently. It wasn't as bad as one might think.

But it was a little run-down and it seemed like the place newly-divorced husbands would come to have a scotch. However, Raven wasn't complaining.
