Grace

original.gif

Grace was quiet for a few moments, until she piped up, "Being normal is boring," Grace stated, thinking about what Sawyer had said earlier, 'not all cheerleaders would like to hang out in a garage with some weirdos.' "I just mean, if your with the right people..even if they're weirdos. it kind of don't matter where you are, if that makes sense?" She shrugged, lost in thought. Still thinking on how everything would go once she got home.

Sawyer grabbed her attention when she spoke again, She raised an eyebrow. Intrigued, "Oh?" Was all she said, waiting for her to continue. Taking a sip of her drink. It was then She suggested giving her 'tune up' for free' Grace almost choked on her drink, She cleared her throat. Praying silently that nobody saw the redness on her cheeks. "I'll uh-keep that in mind." Attempting to avoid eye contact. Thank god for Ash coming in at that moment, and then Bjorn with cheeks as red as her own.

They both took seats at the table. She waved away Ryan's invite, "It wasn't a big deal, really..And I would, go. But unfortunately, i'll have to get home soon." She rolled her eyes, "I didn't pick up my uh.. mom's boyfriend's daughter, from school. We'll see if it has consequences." She knew how odd it sounded, but what else was she supposed to call her? She smiled giving a hopeful glance at Sawyer, "Maybe, another time?"

Ash narrowed her eyes at Ryan, ready to smack him for laughing at Bjorn, but he managed to keep his composure and she decided he would be fine. This time. She smiled at Bjorn as he came up, and scooted over towards Ryan so he could sit next to her. "Hey, sorry about that. You just looked so comfortable that we didn't want to wake you." She said, and pushed the rest of her fries towards Bjorn. "Are you hungry?"

With Bjorn taken care of, Ash tuned back into the conversation. Even she could tell that Sawyer was trying to be smooth and flirtatious, and it was great to watch Ryan knock her down so easily. She frowned at how Grace seemed to deflate when she mentioned this... other person. Ash considered saying something about it, but she didn't know what.

"Well I'd come, but garages are gross and dirty." She said, wrinkling her nose up at the idea as she leaned back in her seat, and crossed her arms over her chest.

Matt's face froze as the game ended abruptly and a few boo's rang out among the crowd. She didn't know what she had expected but it definitely wasn't this. The crowd began to disperse as Mason walked off and Stu got to his feet. She stood there, not really sure where to go from here. On the one hand, Mason was her friend and he had not looked pleased with himself at all after winning. He might need someone to be on his side. She felt a pang of guilt at the fact that she had rooted against him in favor of someone she had just met today. She wondered shamefully what he would think of her if he knew she'd been the one to start the chanting. He and Drake had taken her under their wing last year and this was how she thanked them.

On the other hand, Stu was new, alone, and injured. It's not like he had many people looking out for him either. Now that the show was over, all his apparent supporters had started to leave the stands and attend to other business. She couldn't imagine what it must be like to be the center of attention like that on your very first day of school.

Her guilt deepened. He wouldn't have had to be made a spectacle like that if she had stopped the whole thing in the first place. What had she been thinking? Had she really thought Mason could lose? This wasn't some teen coming-of-age movie. Underdogs didn't win in the real world.

On the other, other, hand, she could skip the drama and go swimming.

Sighing, she cut through the thinning crowd and jogged to the fence, vaulting over and running after Stu. Drake had already caught up to him and was talking to him with a smile on his face. She hoped whatever he was saying was working at cheering up their new friend.

Matt ran ahead of him and then whirled around so she was facing him head on and put her hands on his shoulders, searching his face. "Are you ok?" She asked, looking for any sign of pain. "Look, I'm so sorry, man. I shouldn't have let it get that far, I wasn't thinking. Can I do anything to help?"

**********************************************

Later that day...

Fish pulled herself up out of the pool, sitting on the concrete edge and waiting for Winona to finish the lap she was on and join her. They'd met after the Mason v. Stu debacle - Jace had introduced them, since the two had been looking for the pool and neither knew where it was. Making a mental note to suggest that the school start printing maps, she'd shown them the way and then stayed to swim a while.

Winona was quiet; silent, actually. This immediately set her apart from other girls Matt had met who giggled incessantly at the word "Penis" and used the word "like" after every phrase. Sure, it made for sometimes odd communication, but her personality still shown through with no need for spoken words.

Matt didn't really have any female friends. She hadn't really fit in with other girls growing up and her mind had ended up rejecting them so that they couldn't reject her. She assumed they were all shallow and vapid, spending their time talking about boyfriends and makeup rather than cool things like aliens and food, the way she could talk to guys. Matt smiled to herself as Winona finished up - maybe she was different.

"How do you like our school's pool?" Fish asked, smiling. "The best part is, we get to swim year round, free of charge, as much as we want."

June
June was happy there was a disconnect between her and her father only in this one moment. They didn't say a word as he arrived in his car and June arrived by walking. It was almost like they were both ghosts that couldn't see each other. Almost. He did notice and he did show some emotion through a slight crease of the eyebrows and a slight frown. But, he didn't comment. He opened the door and June walked briskly to her room.

Immediately she shut the door and threw her bag down, but was way more careful as she placed her camera down. At last she was away from the school. But, the alternative wasn't any better. The unpacked boxes and scattered posters was a clear sign of it. She was still not home. The thought made her slowly trudge to the window seal, sitting and twirling in her rolling chair as she did. She stopped by her succulent plant, hugging the window for its daily dose of photosynthesis. She picked up the small watering can and sighed as the soil soaked it up. "How was your day Mr. Plant? If you had to know mine I felt like I wasn't suppose to be there. I didn't even get nervous, but then again, I don't know if I felt anything." She placed the tiny water can down and moved to sit in her rolling chair backwards. Her legs hugging the skinny neck and her arms resting on its oval head. She placed her chin down and was eye-leveled with the plant. "I saw a fight. I liked the picture I took, I just felt bad for the skinny kid. Is it bad to say I knew he had no choice. But the jock didn't look too happy either. I don't know their story. It's just crazy there was a fight the first day! And there was another girl taking pictures, maybe she's like me? But, I don't know how to approach her. I can't be like, 'oh hey! You have a camera, I have a camera. Let's be camera buddies!' I'll put that endeavor on hold. Oh, and my..." She paused. "Not sister left me at school for something else. I mean, I shouldn't be upset, Mr. Plant. She had a life here way before I did. I shouldn't expect her to just..." She groaned loudly and leaned back with her eyes closed. "I shouldn't care. I don't even like her! Granted, I know nothing about her." When she opened her eyes she got quiet once more. Not trying to hold a conversation with a potted plant any longer. Her head turned to her computer on her desk. She needed to vent through other means. Visual rather than verbal. Written words always made her feel better.

She scooted back and turned to sit properly in her chair, opening up the laptop and logging herself in. Instantly, her blog showed up. Only two readers. Herself and her Mom. As things should be. This blog wasn't visible, she could only share it with people she wanted to see it. Her mother stopped looking at it a long time ago. But June wanted to keep at it. Now, she was going to do just that. Plugging in her camera and placing the picture of the fight, she proceeded to write about her day and how she truly felt about Westbrook. As well as this arrangement with her father. And she found herself calm once more.

Thanks Mr. Plant.

Luz Hernandez

Luz wrinkled her nose, watching the quick decay of solidarity after the duel was over. This was life, wasn't it? The ebbs and flows of groups forming, prevailing, and then breaking before repeating the cycle again and again in droves and waves. Distancing herself, it was like watching amoebas in a petri dish, moving in relation to each other but never quite finding a consistent state of being.

Fuck philosophy, she thought as she ended the livestream and checked to make sure her screen had been recorded. She'd edit and post the video once she got back to Mr. Connel's room. For now, she tweeted:
And that's how we end the first day of school at Westbrook High - with a dead thud. Welcome back!

She slipped her phone in the pocket of her jacket and walked back toward the school with her usual swagger. The girl with the camera she'd seen earlier still sat in her mind like a feather being kept in the air by the wind. She'd have to keep an eye out for her, maybe see if she could get a picture from the game for the Westbrook Witness. Luz had no way of knowing if the girl was even a good photographer, but for some reason, she was sure she was.

She pulled open the door of a side entrance and stepped into the school, going toward the nearest bathroom. She needed new stall graffiti gossip to investigate.

Neck Tie was making for the parking lot when Drake caught up with him from behind. Drake was saying a lot of words that didn’t make a lick of sense. Judging by his excitement, he seemed to think this was some kind of a joke.

The freshman did not giving Drake the courtesy of a glance. He kept on limping with his head down. He wasn’t distracted even by the McDonald’s bag Drake was holding out at him. Chicken nuggets were the last thing Neck Tie wanted to see. He vowed never to eat a nugget again.

Then a familiar face circled round in front of him. He wished she hadn't chased after him to see him like this. The boy tried to navigate past her but she put her hand on his shoulder. He shook it off abruptly.

‘I’m not your friend, so get off me! I'm going home, just leave me alone.’ Neck Tie was ashamed to look either of them in the eye, so he wedged past the gap between them and disappeared into the parking lot.

Grace

It got pretty late, Going and coming back, from foxcroft, was a total of 6 hours. Ryan & Sawyer decided to go their own way on the motorcycle. After dropping Ash and Bjorn home. Grace pulled up to her driveway. Turning the car off, and sitting there for a few moments. She almost didn’t want to go inside, could you blame her? Everything changed over the course of just a few months. There were practically strangers in her home, David’s daughter was kind of like a last minute editon to It. After thinking it possibly couldn’t get worse, she hated to think that it actually did. But then again, Grace didn’t really know June. She knew it wasn’t fair to dislike her because of it. But she just felt..not okay about all of it.

Stepping out of the car, and into the house. Regretting wearing the uniform today, she rubbed her hands up and down her arms, attempting to make herself warmer, she wondered if Bjorn felt like this, she chuckled a bit, her faint smile died down, as she walked in dreading to face the ‘music.’ Once she saw her mother sitting on the couch, she just sat down the opposite seat from her. Fully knowing that she’d want to talk. “I’m sorry.” Grace apologized.

“Where were you?” Her mother asked Grace avoided her eyes. “Helping a friend.” She said she felt her mother’s gaze burning into her, picking at a bracelet on her wrist, she shrugged. “I forgot, I’ll do better. I promise.” Grace said with a small smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. But it was enough of an answer for her mother to seemingly be comfortable with. Grace stood up, going up the stairs. “Night.” She stopped at the middle of the stairs, as her mother spoke. “I need you to make this work, Grace. I can’t do it on my own.” Grace immediately felt guilty, as she just nodded. She made her way to her room, right opposite of June’s. She considered going in to apologize to her. But it was late and she was probably asleep, coming to a decision she opened the door to her own room and closed it behind her.

She pulled out her phone, biting the inside of her cheek, thinking if she should even text. Why not? There wasn’t any harm to it. She made up her mind, and opened Sawyer’s contact. ‘Hope you got home safe, see you tomorrow.’ She pressed send, and once changed getting into bed. before drifting off to sleep she thought.

Today wasn’t all bad.

Sybil gave a half snarl, she had every abuse she knew ready to be hurled at Alester, but she held her tongue. She was quiet for a few more moments before stalking off in silence, she knew it was better to be silent and foolish then open her mouth and remove all doubt, besides she had obligations to keep. James needed to be picked up, King was in need of bite work, and she needed to make sure Hugo didn’t burn something down plus it was time to start calling her father and brothers since she hadn’t heard from them in awhile. Her grassy green eyes flashed with fire when she gave Alester final glance, before stalking off.

Sawyer
q8CGTbL.gif
After their impromptu dinner at McDonalds, the group headed in their separate ways. Ryan and Sawyer took off in the direction of the garage on the back of his bike. A three hour ride clutching onto Ryan wasn't the ideal situation but she liked the bike and she wasn't complaining. Sawyer may have not have spent the whole ride with her head titled back letting the wind whip under her hair visible under her helmet. Talk on the ride was light and frothy, no speak of what had happened earlier that day. Sawyer much preferred it this way anyway. The past had already been put behind them and she was just fine with that.

When the two of them arrived at the garage, they both grabbed a drink and made themselves comfortable in their little safe haven. Sawyer made sure to text her father and fill him in on what had happened and where she was. Oliver did seem rather concerned about the whole driving three hours away thing, but he seemed satisfied that she was back in town now and didn't say much about it. With that out of the way she decided she better fill Ryan in on the day she'd had without him.

"Okay so," She leaned back on the chair she was sitting sideways on, her head now upside down, "Grace asked me to come to some party Friday. I'm going to go, I think." She lifted her head to look at him with a grin. There was no way she was missing this party when Grace had invited her.

"Anyway, you should come too." She twisted to sit right in the chair, "She also got to watch me practice." The grin on Sawyer's face could've split it in half, "I may have shown off a little, those poor freshmen." She shook her head and clicked her tongue. Her phone vibrating in her pocket caught her attention and her eyebrow creased, was her dad texting her again? She pulled it out of her pocket and was greeted with a number she didn't recognize, but she could almost immediately tell who it was. Grace had texted her. Sawyer's grin morphed into a smile.

'I hope you got home safe, see you tomorrow'

Well, with all the shit that had happened today at least one good thing had come of it, and this was definitely a good thing. Sawyer figured Grace had probably gone to bed but she went to text her back anyway.

'I'm fine. Goodnight, Grace. Sweet dreams.`

Ryan had listened to Sawyer talk. He was sitting back in one of the couches sipping on something. "Hey, at least one of us had a good day." He said with a laugh. Ryan had caused a few problems for that day, but now that that day was over, he could start a new the next day. "What a day what a day." He said. "I still can't believe that you guys came all the way just for me." He said taking a sip. "It's crazy if you think about it... Driving three hours to save a friend. Shit with the events of today, they should make a series on Netflix about our lives..." He said before looking at the reader. He turned his attention back to Sawyer. "There's a spare bed in the back if you want it." He said finishing up. He grabbed a blanket and wrapping himself up. It was a long day. He was just getting comfy.

Ash had been planning this party for an entire week -- the Westbrook Witness had even posted about it on social media, meaning that she had a lot of hype to live up to. So, she had spent the last few evenings working on getting the house ready for the welcome back party of the year. Jace called her crazy. She called it brilliant.

"Set up your nonsense music stuff and then sit on the couch and you. Will. Party." Ash demanded of Jace while she finished up placing out some plastic cups and what have you for the party-goers. After she was finished, she hopped up on the counter, and watched as Jace worked away by the stereo.

Jace rolled his eyes. "No, no, no. I am not staying here with your... your... weird popular friends with their blonde hair and their muscles." He grumbled as he finished selecting the music for Ash's party on his laptop and started. Soon, music was pumping throughout the house from the various speakers set up throughout the main living space.

Ash sighed. "Jace, you're blonde. You would get along great with them." She said sarcastically.

"Oh, whatever. Enjoy your party." Jace grumbled and headed back down the long hallway to his bedroom.

Ash shook her head and then laid back on the island before she pulled out her phone and waited for her friends and the rest of the class body to show up. She scrolled down Twitter, although not much had happened yet.

Melody Wright

It was finally party time. Melody spent hours looking for an outfit and touching up her roots. Her hair was slowly fading into a pastel pink and while it was pretty it wasn't bold or explosive enough for her. The mall was about ten minutes from the school where she got a mini rose gold sequenced dress. It cost her fifty dollars and she knew her father wouldn't be happy but she couldn't help herself. She noticed the food court was across from the boutique she was in and wondered if she should bring anything. Would their food? Was it a potluck? The nacho stand seemed promising and she has never seen a person who didn't like them so she goes up to the counter ordering the largest size they had. The greasy bag is handed to her and she spends the whole time in the mall trying to avoid any stains are the new dress that she put on in the dressing room. Melody had no time to waste and she hopped into the car racing the house. Finally parking she knocked on the door.

"Hey, cheer-best friend. I brought nachos!"

Rory Quinn

"Please! I promise no one will be drinking", he lied knowing there would at least be beer at the party. He should have just sneaked out the window and or told his mom he was going to the library. But once again being the good boy always prevented him from living his life. He decided to text Ash hoping to pretend there were chaperones at the party. "Hey, Ash are you there? I need a huge favor".

After a short Uber ride, Kanen found himself standing on the side of the road, stareing up at Ash's home. Not gonna lie. Kanen was jealous. Ash's parents probably paid more for yard work than the entire yearly mortgages of Kanen's home. It was bitter-sweet to stand in front of the home.

With a sigh, Kanen marched forward. With a duffel bag hanging from either shoulder, Kanen felt a bit weighed down. He had spared nothing when he raided his house for alcohol, even calling in a few connections. He was feeling optimistic tonight. He wanted to have a good time for once. In fact, Kanen was sober. He hadn't drank anything since Wednesday night, knowing it'd be an embarrassment to show up drunk to the party.

He stopped at the door, raising one fist slowly, then Pounding on the heavy wood. "It's cold! Let me the fuck in!"

Sawyer
tumblr_inline_nqdg3xwGhe1ts1o6i_500.gif
Sawyer was having a crisis. How was she supposed to decide between her leather jacket or her varsity jacket. This was literally impossible. One one hand she could go for edgy loner look, but on the other she could totally pull off the showy jock. Sawyer had been standing in front of her bed where the jackets in question were laid out for about half an hour now wrestling with what to choose. She needed an outside opinion. She needed her dad.

"DAD! COME HERE! HELP!" Sawyer yelled down the hallway and a few seconds later the sounds of someone running down the hallway could be heard. Oliver Andrews burst through the door ready for anything.

"What? Are you dieing? What's the matter?" He strode up to her and looked her over frantically as if he was looking for some sort of injury or another. Sawyer gestured toward her jackets dramatically fell down backward in between them.

"I don't know what to wear to the party!" She sighed and threw an arm over her eyes. Oliver rolled his eyes and let out a long breath. With he pinched the bridge of his nose between his forefinger and thumb.

"You are the most dramatic kid on the face of this planet." Her father groaned though a smile graced his face.

"Are you going to help me or not?" Sawyer sat up, a pleading look crossing her face as she looked st her father.

"Leather." He pointed at the leather jacket, "Definitely leather. I mean, you're trying to impress this Grace girl you told me about, right?" Sawyer nodded dutifully, "Leather always impresses the ladies. Trust me. It's how I got your mother." Sawyer laughed and plucked the jacket up off the bed before standing up and slipping it over her shoulders. She smoothed her clothes out in the mirror and grinned confidently.

"Thanks, Dad." She looked back at him with a thumbs up.

"Sure thing, Sprout." He picked her beanie yo off her nightstand, pulled it over her head all the way down to her eyes and laughed. "Don't forget that." Sawyer groaned as she adjusted the thing to the right spot and gave her dad a goodbye to which he replied, "Go get 'em, Tiger." And she left the house.

A few minutes drive later, Sawyer pulled up to the address she had been provided with by Grace and shut the engine of her car down. The old Mustang was probably at least as old as her dad but it still worked reliably and it was cool. Two converse clad feet stepped out of the car as Sawyer exited. The door slammed behind her and she made her way up to the door of the house. She brushed past Kanen at the door and with a deep breath she opened the door without even bothering to knock.

"The party has arrived! You may now begin celebrating."

Everyone seemed to appear at once and Ash, in her excitement to get to the door, fell off the island with a thud. Grumbling, she stood up, brushing herself off although, well, there was no dirt. The maids had scrubbed the house spotless today in preparation for this party... And they'd do the same tomorrow after the house was thrashed.

She rushed to the door, grinning when she saw Melody. The first to arrive. "Hey, girl!" She squealed and looked down at the nachos. "Ooh, they look delicious. You can go set them on the table over there." Ash said, gesturing to a table with the other snacks. She started to lead the way when pounding on the door announced Kanen's arrival. She apologized to Melody and then headed over to open the door, only to have it be opened by Sawyer busting in.

"Oh! Sawyer! You made it!" Ash squealed, and enveloped her in a tight hug. "We're going to have to like, talk later. Oh my gosh, you look so cute." She gushed as she let go, then brushed past her to Kanen. "I'll see you later, Sawyer!"

"A please would be nice." She said, closing the door after Kanen. "Bring the stuff over here." Ash instructed, leading Kanen over to the island that she had been laying on before the party started. "So what all did you bring?" She asked excitedly. "And like, how much do I owe you? My dad left us a ton of cash for the party." Well, not for the alcohol and drugs, but he didn't need to know what they were really using the cash for.

Then, Ash's phone vibrated. She pulled it out and read over the text from Rory. She found herself frowning, hoping he could make it. Anything. What's up? she texted back, before slipping her phone back into her pocket and replacing the frown with a smile as Ash looked back at Kanen.

Alester McGregor
Music was banging loud trough the box in Alester his chamber. Alester, Mason, Drake and Matt were getting ready at Alester's place. The McGregors lived in a big house, but with five children it felt really small. Once in a while a random head looked trough the door opening and asked if the music could be turned down and Alester always told them to fuck off. Alester was standing shirtless in his chamber, looking through the clothing rack placed next to the window trying to fit a good shirt for the party.

Now Susie, Alester his youngest sister, walked into the room. In one hand she held a doll, without head, and in the other hand she was holding the doll's head "Allie, Lil' Susie is dead". Big child tears came running from her eyes. Alester looked at his little sister "Oh Susie.." he ran over to his sister and knelt in front of her. He took the doll and head and fixed it "There you go, Lil' susie is alive again" Susie gave Alester a kiss and ran out of the room.

Then he looked at Mason "Which shirt do I need to pick?"

He sighed before he looked up to see his mom still in his room. "I'm going to call you and I need you to pretend to be your mom or something. Just convince my mom that there won't be any alcohol and adult chaperones". He hopped it would work or he definitely wasn't going anywhere tonight. He wasn't like his brother yet his mom still treated him as if he were. No matter what he would change all of sudden just by going to a party.

Ryan thought about his week. The start of the week was crazy, but the latter half of the week was quieter. He spent a lot of time with Sawyer. He was trying to make it up with her for leaving her at the beginning of the week. He had decided that he was going to go over to the party for a while before going home. Not that he didn't want to stay but he did wanna be alone for a little bit. "Alright, my boy... we got a party tonight. Remember we need to try and impress Ash." He said talking to himself in a mirror. "You owe her for coming all that way up there for you." He said running a comb through his hair. The comb had some hair gel on it to keep his hair in place, but not too much to make it stick too much. He walked over, grabbed his jacket and threw on some shades. It was still a little bit of light out.

He hopped on his bike and opened the garage door. He pulled out, closed the garage door and drove off. His first stop was the package store. He grabbed a few handles of multiple things and a few cases of beer. After he had paid he walked out and set everything in his bike saddle bags. After a few minutes, he had made it to Ash's house. He collected everything and walked into the mansion."Jesus what a big place. I got some drinks if you want them?" He asked setting them down. He saw Sawyer. She had a leather jacket. "Looks like someone decided to roll punk tonight." He said looking at the jacket. "Looks new." He said smiling."We might need to break it in." He said giving her a can.

Marilyn Cheng
Marilyn couldn’t help but stare at her twitter page after she opened it for the first time ever in a very long time. Snuggled in her humble sanctuary that is her bedroom, confused about the party that’s been occuring lately just now. Was there always a discussion about a party? She knew she wasn’t close to particularly anyone in school, infact she’s only been accquainted with most of them due to academic purposes. Only a rare few ever ended up being her friends though, and she was quite satisfied with that.

To be honest, she was intruiged by the topic- wondering if everybody’s invited. Her thoughts drifted off into wonder what would it be like to join in, as she has never been one most of her life, and experience the rave. Though she couldn’t hear the music, must be other ways to enjoy it.

Marilyn stared at the screen longingly until Royce, her younger freshman brother, entered her room to ask for advice— but stopped half-way when he noticed what she was doing, she didn’t even looked up when he went in. So taking advantage of her disability, he slowly slipped in to take a peek on her computer to see what was going on about.

“Ah....A party huh..?” Royce raised an eyebrow before switching his gaze to Marilyn, who was hopefully waiting for a response.

Obviously, Kanen was a little shocked when Sawyer just walked right in, acting like she owned the place. Ash didn't seem to care though, so neither did he. With a bit of a shrug, Kanen followed Ash into the kitchen, stopping at he island as instructed.

"Just give me whatever you think is fair." Kanen responded."Most of this stuff I got free anyways, favors and such. The rest, my step-mom won't miss." Kanen set the first duffel down, opening it up and reaching inside. First thing he pulled out was a highschool party staple. The Devils lettuce. That Wacky To-Baccy. Or, for the innocent, Marijuana. Kanen personally didnt smoke, but he was sure someone would enjoy it.

Next came out a plastic baggie filled with an assortment of pill bottles, stolen from his addict Step-Mother. Of course some of it was harder stuff than others, and this baggie wouldn't be set out for grabs. Kanen wanted to have a good time, not watch some stupid kid overdose...

As you'd expect, the rest of the duffel, along with the second, we're all alcohol. Most of it was hard liquor, but Kanen had brought a few cases of beer and lemonades, despite the fact he hated the taste. After displaying what he brought, Kanen looked at it proudly. "Imma get you all fucked up."

"I don't know what fair is! I've never bought this stuff before." Ash replied, but she figured she'd decide by the end of the night. And by decide, she meant just shove all of the money her dad had left them at Kanen. After all, it wasn't like they were aching for money, and Ash's dad wouldn't really care. He never asked for the cash back, anyway.

"Jeez, Kanen. You really went all out." Ash was grinning as she watched him pull out first the drugs, then the alcohol. "You're the best. Seriously." She said and, without asking, threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly. "Thank you. Seriously. I was worried you weren't going to like, come. But now you're here and you can party."

She released after a couple seconds when again, her phone vibrated. With another text from Rory, asking her to pretend to be her mom... And Ash panicked. When the phone started ringing, she squealed and held it out to Kanen. "Pretend to be my dad so Rory can come." She asked, hopefully.

The rest of the week flew by uneventfully, Grace was doodling a small sketch of Ash. One where she fell asleep in the car a few nights ago, when Grace got an alert from her phone. It was almost everyone talking about the party tonight, even Sawyer said a few words about it. Who was the only reason she was excited to go tonight, she typed up a few replies. Before closing her sketchbook. She looked towards her door which was open enough to where she could see June’s, room.

Grace had driven her back to-and from school, these last few days. I should just ask.. She thought, with a huff of breath she got off her bed. Heading towards June’s room, knocking a number of times before opening the door. “Um, hey.” Grace said, it was kind of awkward. Considering they don’t actually talk to each other unless they have to. “So, there’s a party tonight.” She said leaning against the doorframe. “I’m going...you want to come with?” She asked with uncertainty.

“Be ready in 10.” Grace said without even listening to her answer, heading back to her own room to change, if only finding clothes were easy. Okay, so maybe it was. But that wasn’t the point. She wanted to look her best tonight, because..reasons. After deciding that a tight enough shirt and jeans would do it’s job, ..hopefully, throwing a jacket over herself. She continued getting ready.

It was at least 35 minutes later, when June & Grace were finally in the car, driving to Ash’s house were the party was held. “It’ll be fun, and it’ll give you a chance to meet new people too.” Grace sounded like her mother, she rolled her eyes at her ownself. “I’ll introduce you to some friends.” They pulled up to Ash’s house, she’d been here a few times before, so it was nothing new.

Walking in, Grace waved and gave a small smile to Ash. Who seemed a bit preoccupied with her phone at the moment. She noticed Kanen and avoided eye contact, she knew he was going to be here. But Grace didn’t have to like it.

Grace approached Sawyer and Ryan. Although Her eyes completely focused on Sawyer, “Hey.” Grace spoke. Sawyer looked, well she looked good. “I like your jacket.” Throwing a smile her way, it wasn’t so much the jacket that made her look attractive. Grace’s gaze lingered, and then she remembered about June. “Oh, uh. This is June, my um..” She paused trying to find a word for her. She realized she couldn’t. “This is June. that’s Sawyer and Ryan.” Introducing them to each-other.

Kanen was preoccupied organizing his alcohol when suddenly the small girl practically pounced on him. It was a surprise, but not a bad surprise, not even in the slightest. In absolute honesty, Kanen was a bit bummed when she let go, expecting her to wander off to greet everyone else. But she didn't, instead she just pulled her phone out, asking a favor.

Kanen laughed. "Really? I'm supposed to pretend to be your dad?" He laughed."I wouldn't know the first thing about being Mr. West." Nonetheless he put his hand out to take the phone. "Rory better be thankful."

He dialed Ash's number and handed the phone to his mother. This had to work he refused to stay in the house all night while everyone else was having a good time. "Hi. I'm Rory's mother Sadie. I just wanted to make sure that the party would safe so my son could attend. Will there be chaperones? ", she questioned. Rory knew this was going to take a while so he decided to get dressed.

When Sawyer burst into the house and Ash cam up and gave her a hug, Sawyer stiffened a moment in surprise before gently patting Ash on the back. Not even a second later she had already left Sawyer and was whisking Kanen off with his most likely alcohol stuffed duffel bags. Sawyer stood kind of awkwardly in the corner until Ryan appeared in the house had made his way over to her.

"You came." She took his offered beer, "Thanks. It is new, gotta look my best, you know?" Sawyer laughed and shoved a hand in one of the jackets pockets. She brought the beer to her lips and eyed the few people who had already shown up. Ash and Kanen seemed occupied with going through Kanen's duffel, which she was pretty sure she just saw weed come out of, and she also saw Melody gracing then with her presence as well. Sawyer mentally cursed herself for being early, totally not cool.

Her mood considerably lightened when Grace made her entrance. As the girl made her way over to she and Ryan, Sawywr didn't even notice the other girl with her because her eyes were too busy taking in the shirt that Grace had on. When Grace finally arrived, complementing her jacket which made Sawyer make a mental note to thank her dad, and introduced June Sawyer tore her eyes away from Grace to smile at the other girl.

"Nice to meet ya." Sawyer's characteristic grin appeared, "I'm Sawyer, as you've been told." She glanced at Grace, "You look good too, by the way. That shirt makes your...eyes pop." That may or may not been a little too heavy but she'd already said it so there was no going back now.
