West Blue Arc: Zoomania

Peaceswore

Hurts too much, I'm done.
West Blue Arc:  Zoomania

Setting

Morning Just before the afternoon

Four days after leaving Mirestone

Very Sunny, hot and humid

96F

Ocean is calm with a breeze pushing the Lucky Nova through the waters like nothing

Island in distance still very far away

Sora Z. Lachance

The Lucky Nova was sailing perfectly on the ocean with the wind favoring them as well as the clear weather, on its bow hanging over the railing was none other than the Captain of the vessel.  There he was on his knees just looking out over the ocean as he let a sigh escape his lips. 'Yeah........... We really didn't have enough food for this crew.  Glad we didn't lose more barrels than we already have, we would be struggling then. '  Shaking his head a bit as some sweat went down his brow a small groan left him and he slipped off the railing falling to his side now simply laying there.   Currently only dressed in a white tank top and some maroon shorts Sora kept his gaze on the horizon.  It was known through out the crew that their food was coming to an end in less than a day's time.  Yeah Sora had gotten extra food before he left the port...but then three, no at least five extra people joined! Then he lost about two barrels of food in the fight at the dock! And during their adventure they had to lose another barrel to get away from a very hungry sea monster.

So, yes they were low on food, however he didn't worry too much about it, well the other night he was a bit worried since several things could go wrong before they get to the island.  Which would hamper them in getting food.  Now! Now he wasn't worried in the slightest, as he lay there he narrowed his eyes a bit before grinning happily.  In the distance he could see a black splotch, it was the island that he told the others about.  Silent Isle.  A perfect spot to restock, and this time he might not have to worry about several people joining him out of no where...maybe, never really know.

Seeing the island in the distance he pushed himself off the wooden deck and grinned.  "Welp! Looks like we won't have to survive on fishing!"  He said in a pretty cheerful voice obviously happy about this fact.  Pointing at the dot in the distance he kept his smile up.  "Up ahead is the island we are going to restock at!"  He shouted so the entire ship could be aware they were approaching their next destination.  "Assuming we didn't veer off course, which I doubt we did... That is Silent Isle, known for being everything but silent."  A light chuckle left him as he said this.  He was mainly speaking to Albi at this point but anyone close by could easily hear him.    The small creature let out a squeak letting Sora know she heard everything that was said.  After this however she hopped off his shoulder and ran off on the deck to find some shade as it was far too hot for the small thing.  Shaking his head a bit he leaned back on the railing and looked ahead of him.  "So close yet still so far~"

Things that happened in the four day skip

Food is almost gone and really only thing left his some fish and a few preserved meats

They encountered a sea monster and had to lose a barrel of food to get away from it

Seriously it's hot out

The island is still pretty far out but fear not!  They shall be arriving in due time!

Marcus Gaverenton

Marcus looked up from the small book he was writing in. Due to his severe lack of reading material, he had been stuck writing down only what came to his head, be they new ideas for mixtures or random thoughts. It was one of the few things that had made him feel sane during the voyage. He had mostly kept to himself during their trip to the next island, only talking to the crew when he felt he needed some small conversation. The only person he hadn't spoken with was the man named Elijah, who whenever Marcus tried to talk to him, gave a grunt and simple one word answers to his questions, or didn't answer them at all. He was always looking around the ship at their supplies, and taking measurements of different parts of the ship. Marcus deduced he was a shipwright, as when he had seen him rummaging in the chest he had brought on board, he had noticed an abundance of tools inside of it. Of course, he always locked the chest when he was done, and wore the key on a piece of string around his neck. When they slept, he hid the key somewhere, but the doctor was unsure where.

Closing the notebook, Marcus stood up from his sitting position on the deck of the Lucky Nova. While the previous days he had stayed in his regular coat and suit, he had finally caved to the heat and had striped down to his white undershirt and black dress pants. The tattoos on his arms were almost completely visible, though the shoulders were covered up by the tight shirt, cutting the tattoos off at the biceps. He pulled his glasses off of his face and quickly rubbed the lenses with a cloth as he walked over to where Captain Sora was leaning on the railing. Putting them back on, Marcus squinted in the distance to their destination. It was only barely visible, but with the pace they were moving at, the Lucky Nova seemed to be making good progress.

Crossing his arms over his chest, Marcus groaned. "I'm guessing that this place has all the supplies we need? Because I need to pick up some replacements for what I left at Mirstone." Pushing his glasses up to the top of his head, Marcus's gaze stuck to the horizon, taking in calm waters and bright blue sky. "It's been a long time since I've been out to sea...I forgot what the feeling was like."

Cait Merlin

Cait was currently swimming in the ocean wearing her new usual attire, a plaid bikini top and aquatic shorts; she had left her sandals on deck beside her guitar, which was safely housed in its case. Although her top was more on the modest side she could be considered half naked, which made her already dressed for the heat. Though she wasn't swimming to escape the heat either, instead she was fishing. Cait swam with net in hand and snagged multiple fish with the assistance of her fishman swimming ability; she didn't even have to come up for air, making it easier to focus on catching fish.

Cait climbed on board once her net was full. She slid her feet into her sandals and carried her bounty over her shoulder as she walked over to her captain. "That's good news Captain," she said, replying to his fishing comment. "But it wouldn't hurt to fish every now and then, don't want to rely too much on supplies. Not when there are hungry sea monsters out there," she added in a joking manner before she started to walk toward the kitchen. "I'm sure we can cook the next sea monster we come across, Captain."

"Oy, Norman! I have some fresh fish," she announced as she dumped her haul in an ice box. She then left the kitchen and made a quick detour to drop of the net she was using before picking up her guitar and pulling the case around her shoulder. She sat on a barrel near Captain Sora and started to create some acoustic music to add to the sound of the waves. She smiled a shark toothed grin as she played. Cait also liked the feeling of the sea water as it dripped down her body, or was that sweat. "So this island we're goin' to...are there any pubs? I could go for a nice cold Fischer Island Brew with weather like this."

Syrin Insinu

Syrin let out a silent sigh as he gazed on the horizon towards the slowly approaching island from his spot at the front of the ship. Sure, since it was in sight he pretty much did his job of navigating them to their location, but anything could happen so he had to keep an eye out, especially with his injured foot lowering his chances of being able to swim away easily. Speaking of his foot, he glanced down at it and frowned. After hearing from the person that tended to his wounds that they didn't know how to sow a wound shut and instead just bandaged it, something that he could have done himself, he took the liberty of taking some of the string that held his jacket together and using that to sow shut the wound, and bandaged it once more. Thankfully, he had some spare material in his emergency shoe kit that he had with him all the time to repair his shoes, but he was running low on the necessities, so he supposed this island would be a good place to land and restock. While the low food situation was annoying, he'd dealt with worse and hopefully soon enough he would be on a different boat that had an abundance because merchants tended to be like that, the off chance that a sea monster would come around and ruin things once more were fairly average, that he would admit. Shaking his head he let his mind wander back to the island that they had been heading towards. He vaguely remembered coming here once, around a year ago maybe. It wasn't anything special, just a normal merchant job, navigating and guarding their merchandise, the usual deal, though the payday was a bit better than normal. But, the point was, that it meant this island would have people looking for navigators, and soon enough he could get back to his normal life of bouncing around aimlessly, which, now that he thought about it, must sound really unfulfilling to anyone who heard him say it out loud. But he was content, and that was all that mattered to him.

Rolling his shoulder he noted where he left his jacket and chains on the ground next to him leaving him shirtless and showing the multitude of light scars and his tattoo. Normally he would have kept it on, even in this weather, but unfortunately that jacket was the only one he had with him and it was already ripped up in multiple places, he really didn't want to add sweat stains and a worse smell to it than what would normally be found at see, at least until he could buy a new one to replace it. Nevertheless, he couldn't say he didn't enjoy the feeling of the sun on his upper body. In fact, it brought back memories of... He cut himself off before he went too far down that train of thought and allowed himself to be content with simply enjoying the sunlight while he could. With a relaxed breath, he leaned forward on the railing and closed his eyes, drifting off into the breeze and melody of the world around him that was the sea.

Xiao Bamboo

"Hot...way too hot"

It was nice that it was sunny, but the temperature was very high. If humans couldn't stand it, one would imagine what it meant for a panda with dense, fluffy fur. Xiao felt it even when he stood in the shade. He thought that maybe he should remain inside the ship and find a nice, cool place to sleep. But before that he had something to do, something that he was both willing and unwilling to do. Paradoxal? Not really. He wanted to do it because it would help the crew. He didn't want to do it because it implied stepping into the harsh sunlight to reach the place where Sora was. Nonetheless, he had to do it.

Xiao was aware that there more people in the crew than Sora expected. He was also aware that they were running low on supplies. He felt really guilty as far as food was concerned, because he knew that he had a huge appetite. Xiao wanted to tell Sora since they were still at Mirstone: about the savings he had in his bag. Money which remained from his bounty hunting days.

The panda finally decided to move. Wanting to finish everything fast, he used Spectre Bullet to appear before Sora in the split of a second. "Captain, I've been meaning to tell you this before, but the chaotic chain of events that happened so far made it impossible for me to do so. In this bag which I am holding there is money. I initially thought we could use these as emergency savings, but the emergency came sooner than I thought. The sum isn't gigantic, but it can help us in our current situation. Here, 3 million berry. As the captain, I belive you should decide how to use this money, for the sake of the crew. Now, if you'll excuse me..." with that said, Xiao gave Sora the bag and immidiately ran into the ship to find a cool place where he could sleep.

Keya Fenris

Keya was sufficiently bored. The initial excitement of joining the crew had worn off due to the heat and the fact that hardly anyone was sociable due to it. That and the looming threat of a food shortage. Although, said shortage wouldn't really effect her too much. She was small and thus didn't need much to eat or drink, hell one large loaf of bread could last her a week by itself. She ate more than you think someone of her size would but she didn't eat nearly as a human did. All of that aside the dwarf girl was, for once, bored. There was nothing to do AT ALL. And she really, really didn't want to risk swimming even though she knew how. With her luck she'd lose the ship and that' be that. Stranded in the middle of the ocean until she died.

Her troubles of being bored would soon be over once she saw Xiao rushing downstairs for...something. Probably to laze around and get cooled off. She herself was doing the same thing though mostly because she had very little use outside of destroying things. Didn't really need a cannonball with her around. Of course when he was in range she ran and dove, clinging to his thick fur and climbing up to his shoulder. "Hi panda man!" She told him cheerfully. "How are you today?" She asked, giving him a small smile and a hug.

Elijah Baden

Elijah opened the door from below deck of the Lucky Nova, and looked around him, taking a quick swig from the bottle of alcohol he held in his hand. He scowled at the heat that was bearing down on them from above, and wiped his forehead with his arm. This didn't do very much, though, as his arm was just as sweaty as his head. He had been comparing that rough drawing of the Lucky Nova with some of the blueprints he had on hand for ideas he had in the past down in the ships storage room, as he needed something to pass the time until he could think of what he would do from this point forwards. He didn't have a ship that he could use for himself, and the Lucky Nova truly was an interesting ship itself. He was sure if they didn't kick him off, he would become inseparable from it. Of course, getting along with the crew would take some time.

Stretching his arms above his head, he scratched his chest as he walked around the deck. He had left his jacket down with all of his other belongings, and had given up on wearing normal jeans and instead wore a pair of them that were ripped right below the knee, turning them into makeshift shorts. He had also left his shoes below deck, going barefoot around the ship. He didn't see a reason to act like he normally did when he would go into town, and with the heat, it was only more of a reason for him to dress like he usually did when it got hot on his old ship. Of course, his casual clothing was the same as the clothing he wore when he did his workouts and training, so it really was efficient in the end.

As he walked around, taking quick sips of his drink, his eyes got caught on the doctor who had ended up coming with them. What was his name? Matt? Morgan? Martin? Marcus. It was Marcus. Marcus was giving him and the fishwoman questionable looks, and when he noticed Elijah looking at him, he scowled. "Put on some fucking clothes, you two. You look like perverts.

Elijah grunted, holding up his beer. "If being a pervert means you dress comfortably, then I will say I'm a pervert." He gave a crooked smile at the man, who only scoffed and turned to look back at the horizon. Elijah's smile turned into a smug grin as he made is way to another crew member. Syrin was his name, Elijah vaguely remembered. He lumbered over to the railing and stood next to him, looking over at the ocean below them. He had kept to himself as best he could during the voyage, but he was getting bored. He needed someone to talk and drink with.

He looked over to Syrin, noticing that he looked only a few years younger than himself. He looked down at his beer, and then back up to him, before holding it out to him. "Wanna swig, buddy? It's not the best stuff, but I'll probably restock on booze when we get to shore." He looked down at his leg and nodded to it. "How's the leg? Hurting? Looks like it hurts."

Zeon G. Zephyrfield

4 days and 4 nights of hiding in plain sight while pondering the events that had transpired last, being of the marines that blew up an entire island once brewing with an invaluable amount of life and the sea monster that relieved the ship of a barrel. But what immersed Zeon's mind without fail was the action taken by the marines. What the hell were they thinking, decimating an island of innocents just because of the presence of criminals!! They had no right whatsoever to take another life, much less the hundreds they mindlessly murdered. False justice couldn't even begin to classify those bastards, and the very thought of they being the enforcers of the people, the ones who the world trusted in, the epitome of good, merely sealed Zeon's scroll. Their actions alone proved how unbelievably  accurate his people were. The knowledge he got from them was taken completely to heart, his mind was screwed, just like the government was going to be when he got his gauntlets on them. "About time i stopped running. About time i gave my people....no... this world. Real justice. Even if i have to break a few heads to get there." It was decided. Zeon had pondered through a great wall of thoughts during the days, and had finally came to a conclusion.

Eyes venting the blue sky, only to be poked by the sunlight 5 seconds after. The dyed hair wanderer had awoken. "Haghhhhh......haghhh...aghhh..." Rubbing the aftermath of tears from his yawn he got up to his feet, looking over the ship and outstretching his limbs, he was standing on the roof of the cabin. Upon looking down on the deck, he noticed several presences; A red haired man, and muscular guy with glasses and a- holy crap was that a panda...? The animal that was barely recognized via a book from childhood, ran on two legs like a human would. That left Zeon blinking at the sight. The wind felt wonderful til the heat of the blazing sun caught up with him, clothes drenched in sweat and doing no better for the situation. Being a country boy you'd think he'd be accustomed to heat, but this was on a whole other level... This was extreme...

Interrupted by his grumbling stomach, Zeon surfed his bag for some chocolate. They were 10 bars left. Taking out 2 he made his way onto the deck with a loud landing, it was time to confront the captain of the Lucky Nova. "Hey you're Sora right?" He approached the red haired man, bag strapped over shoulder and a slightly serious look. "Listen here pirate, I may have escaped on your ship, but i never agreed nor asked about becoming a plague. All of you pirates are the same, all you care about is power and wealth and will do whatever it takes to get it. You plunder and murder at will and whenever you see fit. And just like the marines? You both need to be eradicated and permanently extinguished." Zeon recalled the mans words from before. "My name is Zeon G. Zephyrfield, and my goal in life is to give this world true justice, to free this world from the virus known as the world government so that crap like what happened in mirstone and my homeland doesn't repeat itself. I don't know what a title and treasure is going to do, nor do i how many evil acts you plan on committing to get them, but unless you prove my notion wrong, i want no part of it." He bit into the chocolate unmercifully, awaiting the captain's response.

Emilie De Cortagne

Emilie put one hand on her hip, resting the other on the broom she was wielding and surveyed her own handiwork with a sharp, short nod. To most people the claustrophobic, dimly lit hallway looked no different to when she had started but her trained eye had picked out the sparse covering of dust along its rough surface and determined it to be an unacceptable blemish upon the honour of her new household. Emilie was still settling into a good rhythm aboard the Lucky Nova, many household items she would have assumed to be able to rely on were tucked away in obscure corners or simply missing, in particular the limited amount of fire wood on board meant she couldn't boil nearly as much water as she would have liked for cleaning purposes, she had reluctantly scaled back her laundry routine to a tawdry once a week and without hot water the floors weren't sparkling nearly as much as they should.

The news that they were approaching civilisation was heartening though, there were several cleaning supplies she wanted to stock up on for the long journey ahead and potentially something could be done about the washing water situation if she could acquire some kind of distillery, a sun powered glass distillery could produce clean water without fire although the amount wouldn't be much and it would look rather tacky to have it displayed prominently on the ship where it would be most effective

Emilie heard a splash from outside as she returned her broom to the closet and supposed that Cait was swimming again and sighed, thinking of the deck that would have to be mopped dry again when she got back on board. Idly Emilie wondered if there was anything in the sea that could be used as fuel for boiling water. Would seaweed burn usefully? The maid resolved to ask the half fishwoman the next time she saw her. In fact Emilie was about to head up on deck in search of Cait when she heard a loud thump, which she dismissed as the usual rowdiness of the rest of the crew and then an unfamiliar voice which she most certainly did not dismiss.

He bit into the chocolate unmercifully, awaiting the captain's response.

Snatching up her broom again, EMilie dashed up above deck and closed the distance between Sora and Zeon with a short burst of speed, levelling her broom at the newcomer with a threatening air that belied its unassuming appearance.

"Please forgive me for allowing this... miscreant to disrupt your affairs undetected Sir," Emilie said to Sora, speaking through Zeon with an odd, slightly embarrassed pitch that was probably the closest she had come to displaying emotion since boarding the Lucky Nova. "Allow me to repair the situation by ejecting them at your discretion."

Seth Igramo'El

So far Seth’s day had been pretty amazing. Not like yesterday, when Emilie had made him scrub the floor of his cabin all day because he had dropped one of his vials. She should have been thankful that it wasn’t the Blake toxin again, or she would still be rhyming. No, today was different. He had awoken early in the morning in the top of the mast. The air had a nice temperature that reminded him of home. Then he got to his chemistry experiments. Marcus had given him some pointers on mixing his toxins, but so far all he had only failed. Not that Seth cared, he was having a blast seeing all the liquids sizzle, bubble and changing color. He could have spent the entire day analyzing it.

However, after breakfast he had to start fishing. Seth had to eat quite a lot to keep up his energy, so he also had to do his part in gathering food. The only problem was his focus. Why did fishing have to be so boring? You just throw out your line and had to wait for a fish to be stupid enough to bite. Aint nobody got patience for that, especially not Seth. Fortunately there was Cait, who used her awesome fisherman karate to fish. Seth was fangirling all over her. He observed her when she was underwater and applauded when she got back with a net full of fish. He was so hyped that he almost asked for her autograph, but you don’t need an autograph from people who were supposed to be your crew mates, right?

Then Sora told them that they had almost reached their first destination and could stock up on food. ‘Finally!’ Seth exclaimed dramatically while he threw his makeshift fishing rod to the side. An island that was anything but silent sounded perfect to Seth. He could wait for loud noises. He ran to the front of the deck and opened his looking glass to look at the island. It was still little more than a blip on the horizon. ‘I can see it! I can see it!’ He exclaimed joyfully. He hopped on his feed like a dog who hears his owner turn the keys. ‘It will be amazing, won’t it? Do you think it is inhabited? Are the people there nice? If it is even humans we encounter. Maybe there will be giants! Or aliens! Not that you guys are not interesting enough or anything, but I would love some more people who are more fun in this heat.’ He had a lot more to say, but his attention was already averted.

Suddenly the rainbow haired boy had collected his courage and walked over to the captain. Good for him! It was not like the boy had gone undetected or anything. The rooftop of the cabin was not invisible or anything, especially from high up, say, the crows-nest or something. Seth had just let the boy be, assuming that he was a stray or something. Now he felt responsible for defending the boy. When the boy was done with stating his noble mission, Seth walked over to them. Not a minute to late as Emilie was already threatening to throw the boy away. No time to think out a plan, Seth had to wing it.

‘How cute! Can we keep it, Sora? Please? I will do anything! Please, Captain Sora? I will feed it and walk it and pick up the turds after it. Well … maybe not the last thing, but you get the point. We can even get to see Maid lady’s skills in action. She can eject Rainbow overboard and then we can haul him in again. We could even keelhaul him, as long as he stays.’ His plea was over. It might not have been his best ever, but for Seth it was quite something. He looked at Sora with his best puppy-eyes and waited for his response.

Norman "Looking Tough and Totally Cool" Newman

Norman yawned as he stretched in the crow's nest where he had slept. He liked sleeping in high up places if he got the chance. Otherwise he just slept in whatever weird place he felt like. He looked up at the bright sky and grinned. The weather was delightfully warm in his opinion. Reminded him of the summers on his home island, though they tended to be a bit hotter. Though who'd be surprised when the entire island is the forested land on a mountainous volcano.

He started his oddly late day with a few pushups, and adjusting his bow strings tightness. He had a cool practice idea that would net a bit of food too. He stood and sat on the edge of the crow's nest, bow in hand. Then leaning back over the edge and holding on with his legs, he looked out at the upside down ocean silently. He waited, bow drawn, as he looked for unnatural movement in the water.

He suddenly saw bubbles and a movement that didn't match the waves around it and aimed above the spot. A moment or two later a large fish jumped out if the water and he let loose an arrow at the same time. The arrow flew directly through the tail of the fish, and Norman yanked the string he tied to the arrow. The fish struggled as he pulled it up over the side of the boat and up to the crow's nest. Norman was so overjoyed he didn't even ponder if others might question the fish floating up to the crow's nest.

"Yes! Awesome!" He back flipped over the edge of the crow's nest and descended the netting in bounding leaps. When he reached the kitchen  he saw Cait leave a buncha fish for him. For a second it bummed him out that he only got one, but he got over it when he saw his was the biggest. Plus, there was so much more cooking now!! He bounded happily past Cait and deposited his own fish while thinking up recipes. "Thanks!", he yelled up to Cait. He got out his special cooking knife set and got to work, humming to the faint guitar he could hear topside.

Sora Z. Lachance

Sora looked over at Marcus as he spoke and gave the man a nod.  "Yea thats is the place, not sure if it will have everything you want last I heard only one village on that island so probably lacking in some departments when it comes to supplies.  Though should be enough to get what we need."  'Though how I'm going to get it is another question entirely....last I checked I only have a ruby... I doubt that's enough.'  At this thought a sigh left him and his eyes moved down to the sea as he watched the Lucky Nova glide along its path.  "Long time huh?  Well I hope the feeling is a good one, despite the dangers I love being out here.  Its calming, and just all around feels nice."  Letting out a light chuckle he shook his head and soon his attention turned to Cait.  "Meh true, but I don't want to eat fish every day, sounds boring after awhile.  Also....screw that sea monster.  Where the hell did it even come from!? "  He exclaimed before letting out a sigh as he put his chin on the railing.  "Probably found some other ship to torment so we don't have to worry about it.......... I think...really hope it did..."  After simply shrugging he closed his eyes a bit as he silently agonized about the heat.   He wanted to take a nap as this was perfect napping weather, but with the island so close by...well he couldn't take a nap now.

When Cait returned Sora didn't respond right away as he was in the middle of enjoying a very nice breeze that went by them which caused him to let out a nice sigh of relief.  "That's one of the best feelings~"  He mumbled a soft smile went on his face as he listened to the music that came from the guitar.  'Score with the musician.'  Opening his eyes and looking at Cait from the corner of them.  "Pub?  Well yea more likely than not.  I mean have you been to a village that doesn't have a pub?"  He asked with a light laugh.  "Be a poor village if it didn't.... Also now that you have mentioned it I really want some cool beer and or ale...."  These words left as a mumble before he pushed off the railing as he heard Xiao speak to him.

He didn't say a thing as he let the other speak when the bag was handed to him he felt as if an enormous wait had been lifted off his shoulders!  "3 million? Tha-..." Before he could even thank the other he was gone in a flash.  Chuckling a bit and shaking his head Sora placed the bag on a hook that was attached to his belt.  A place where he averagely kept a very decorative and important chest on him.  Though that item was currently indoors where he left it.  "At least now I know we can get all the supplies we need, still have some money left over."  There was obvious relief in his words, now that he didn't have to worry about money for the time being.  'Crew check, supplies soon to be check, I'm almost ready for the grand line....except for two things.'  At this thought his eyes moved over to Syrin who was currently with Elijah. 'A navigator who can handle the grand line.'  Then his eyes moved to the sail and crows next. 'And a flag, a great one that's going on the sail as well.... One that lets everyone know who we are.'   Scratching the back of his head he shrugged once again.  'Worry about that after I get my supplies and such.'  He thought as he moved away from the rail to go elsewhere on the ship.

However he didn't even make it two steps away before he was approached once again.  He listened to what the other said and raised a brow at the words but like with Xiao he didn't say a thing till he was done.  Just as he was about to respond Emilie appeared at the scene.  "Hm down cleaning the already clean?"  He asked in a lightly joking tone though he was honestly impressed how she seemed to spot dust from a mile away.  Never had his ship looked so spotless since she arrived, and he had to admit he liked the new clean Lucky Nova.  He listened to her before giving her a kind smile and waving his hand in a dismissive fashion.  "Don't worry, you were busy and its not like I have a list of who can talk to me and who can't.  No need to eject anyone from the ship yet."  He said once again he was about to respond to the boy when suddenly Seth appeared at the scene.   He had to blink several times as he listened to the other to beg for Zeon to stay.  ".....I don't think the keelhauling is really needed.  I'll keep it in mind though.  As for the keeping him part?"

Now looking at Zeon he was quiet for a moment before he sighed.  "Okay."  He said with a shrug, not in response to Seth's question, but rather in response to what Zeon had stated.  "I let you come on board so you wouldn't be stranded on that island, as I said before you don't have to stay here and with an attitude like that... I have no interest in asking you to stay."  He said calmly obviously not caring for the insults the other said when it came to him and his crew.  "I have no reason to prove anything to you, and I won't, you are free to believe whatever you want."  He kept his eyes locked on the other as he continued to speak.  "As soon as we dock you can be the first off, unless you don't want to have any part with us even now... If that's the case feel free to ask Emile to toss you overboard."  With a shrug he moved away from the trio.  "........... Emile please don't actually throw him overboard."

Moving away from the trio he watched for a moment as Norman used his archery skills to skewer more fish.  'Don't have to worry about starving, looks like these guys know how to fish so everyone can get a full meal.'  he thought as he simply smiled.  Moving to the center flag he sat down there and closed his eyes. 'Now for more important thoughts............... How in the hell am I going to convince the navigator to stay?  Should I bother?  Maybe I'll get lucky and find a navigator that's willing to come on the island................................... No, I think I used too much luck at Mirestone, I need to see if I can get him to stay.  I can't...well I can.  I won't enter the Grand line without a competent navigator, I refuse to just let us all die because of my impatience.'  With this he relaxed a moment and keeping his eyes closed started to think of different possibilities to make the other even consider joining.  It was a long shot he knew that, but if he had to guess the best way to figure out what can be done is if he was able to talk to Syrin...alone.   '....Ahhh Its never going to be easy.'

Cait continued to play her guitar. She flashed a quick smile at Norman before she frowned at Marcus. She didn't think she looked perverted. It's not like she was wearing only a speedo and letting her chest hang out; that was something she'd never do. Marcus also didn't have fins on his body like she did. It felt so good letting them breath; it was easier on her clothes too if she didn't have to slit holes in the back of her shirts and jackets.  "Someone needs to be ready for water rescues, it may as well be me considering my DNA," Cait replied.

She turned her attention to her Captain and was about to reply to his pub remark when Zeon, Emilie, and Seth started to talk to Sora. After hearing Zeon's pirate rant, Cait became too lost in thought to hear what Emilie and Seth said. Part of her wanted set Zeon straight. Her intuition told her that Sora was different than the typical ruthless pirate captain. If this was not the case she would have been on other pirate ship right now heading on route to Fishman Island. Cait noticed Sora's mouth moving and decided to keep her thoughts to herself. Zeon's outlook on the Red Wave Pirates would just have to change on his own.

Cait noticed that no one's lips were moving and decided now was as good a chance to reply as ever. "I'm sure lots of towns have pubs, though I wouldn't be surprised if some cultures thought alcohol was taboo. That's definitely not the case with Fincher Island though: it'll take more than your fingers and toes to count all the pubs back home."

For a brief while, Syrin toyed with the idea of simply ignoring Elijah and continuing to enjoy the breeze and the gentle sway of the waves beneath his feet, but, ultimately, decided against it in favor of getting across the point that he didn't want to be bothered at this moment. Opening one eye, he gave Elijah a dead eyed stare that was sufficiently chilling in his opinion. He noted the person to walk up and begin talking to him seemed to be a few years older than him, but given that he didn't recognize his face or his name from before led him to the conclusion that he didn't have any notable bounty on his head at this point in time, though that was pretty clear from when the captain had asked who had a bounty on their heads. "I've dealt with worse pains, though your unironically stupid question has inflicted upon me the pain of my foot tenfold. To supplement that, you also offer cheep booze to me on an exceptionally hot and humid day, ignoring the fact that, believe it or not, alcohol does dehydrate you. And I'm not sure if you've noticed or not, but I plan on leaving this thrice damned ship as soon as possible and I won't be looking back." Closing his eye and slowly drifting off to the ocean once more, he gave one last parting statement to Elijah. "If that wasn't enough of a hint, leave me alone. I'm sure the 'or else' needn't be said." As the world began to slip away into the breeze, Syrin did his best to ignore the various antics around the ship, and subtly changed his body posture to show that he really didn't want to be bothered again.

Ah, the inside of the ship. A great place to laze around. Xiao was happily searching for the best place to sleep. But before that he heard something approaching. It was small and fast. In only a few seconds it climbed on the panda man and reached his shoulder. His initial confusion and warriness disappeared as he saw it was the dwarf girl. He looked at her with a soft expression on his face as he smiled.

"Greetings there, little one. If you take the extreme heat from outside out of the equation, I'm doing fine" said Xiao. "Did you wish to find a cool place to sleep as well?Or are you simply bored?".he asked aferwards. He found Keya quite endearing. but above all else she found her a fascinating existence, unlike anything he had ever seen before.

Truth to be told, all crew members seemed like peculiar creatures to Xiao, in one way or another, but Feya was the only one that he found...adorable.

Syrin continued to gaze out at the slowly approaching island, completely content with pointedly ignoring everyone around him till they arrived, all while enjoying the beauty of nature around him. He had an inkling that the captain of this ship wanted to talk to him about something, but he wasn't really in a mood to interact with anyone, especially since his previous trance was interrupted by Elijah, and was fine with contemplating how to reunite with Stacy, and viciously eviserating the person who stole away Robin from him, and he would have included Robin himself in that eviseration if Syrin wasn't positive he died with the explosion of the island due to a multitude of reasons, least of which being simple intuition.

Sora who was still sitting infront of the main mast watched as Elijah and Syrin interacted.   Letting a sigh escape his lips rubbed his forehead a bit before he got up himself.  'This is going to be grand..'  He thought as he did a small stretch before he strolled over to the navigator.  He didn't really make his presence that known till he stopped by the other.  Glancing at Elijah for a moment he decided to go on the other side of Syrin but not right next to him, just to give the other space.  When he got there he leaned against the railing with his back touching the decorative wood.  He didn't say anything for a bit as it seemd the other was in deep thought or at the very least ignroing his presence.  However after a bit he finally spoke up.  "I need you to join my crew."

Snapped out of his slight trance once more, Syrin didn't outwardly react to the abrupt statement from Sora, though he did have to surpress a growl that threatened to escape his throat. After quickly calming himself down, he did answer with a blunt "No."

Sora let out a small groan though a light smirk stayed on his face, honestly he saw that coming a mile away.   "Short and sweet huh?"  Again he went quiet closing his eyes as he had to think.  Averagely he wouldn't put too much effort in keeping someone that didn't want to be around him. Sadly given this situation, it would require him to put in the effort.  "Okays, going to ask you again soon just giving you that heads up.  What are you planning to do once you get away from the ship?"

Syrin stayed silent for a moment, then spoke up once more. "My answer then will also be no. And the time after that. And the time after that as well. My plans are also none of your concern. The deal was for me to navigate us to safety, and then I depart for other seas to do what I please. I've held my end of the bargain, and so I'm claiming my payment. That's all that should matter to you."

Sora casually waved one hand in a dismissive way after Syrin spoke.   "True I couldn't really do anything with knowing your plans, simply curious since this ship could take you to other destinations.  Anyway, who's Stacy?"

"This ship is directed to where you desire to go, and where you desire to go is not where I desire to go. I would know that quite well, seeing as I chart the course on every vessel I'm on. And she is none of your concern."

"Oh you desire to go somewhere?  I was getting this aimless wanderer feel from you, nomad kind of deal."  Shrugging he looked up at the sky.  "I've been meaning to ask about her before, but decided to give you space like you requested.  I'm nice like that.  Anyway, she must be of some importance since you don't come off as the sociable guy that cares for random people."

"Where I desire to go is none of your concern." Syrin then fell silent, not even bothering to respond to the second part of Sora's statement.

"....."  Looking over at Syrin he simply watched his facial expression for a moment before shaking his head and looking back at the sky.  "Guess you are firm on this then huh? I'm not going to force anyone to stick on a crew they hate.  I guess you aren't even slightly opened to the idea of getting to know me a bit before you depart?  Don't worry I won't ask where you're going, but a conversation or two between us shouldn't kill either one of us right?"

"It may very well kill you if you continue to push."

"If I were so easy to kill simply becuase I push a few people I would have never left the Grand Line the first time around~"

"And if you continue doing what you're doing, you won't live long enough to reach it again."

"Being a pirate is all about risk, there's no promise I'll get to the Grand Line.  But that doesn't mean I'm going to let myself get scared away becuase of the idea of death."

"I'm glad you've accepted the possibility of not reaching the Grand Line, because my answer to join your crew is still no."

Sora simply let out a soft laugh at this.  "Only way to stop me from getting to the Grand Line is by dying, even that might not stop me."  He siad as he shrugged.  "I got a goal, and I'm going to accomplish it.  Though if a certain someone would agree to stick with the crew till I got a navigator that will be able to handle the job.  It would make my life a trillion times easier by my estimations.  Of course, you don't care about my goals."

"No."

"Yeah, figured."  Looking over at the island he shrugs a bit.  "I think it will take about, an hour or two before we actually get to our destination, and before you jump ship.  Think you could tell me at least how you got a 7 million bounty?  Or is that another one of the things I don't need to concern myself with?"

"Some marines thought they were the next best thing since sliced bread, and I just educated them that nothing but my shoes can be the next best thing since sliced bread."

".........Your shoes?"

"My shoes are none of your concern."

"I can't even concern myself with your shoes?  Geez, is there anything I can concern myself that has something to do with you?"

"You can concern yourself with not bothering me. I highly enccourage it."

"And I highly encourage you to stay, if you do what I encourage you to do I will be kind enough to do as you encourage me to do~"

"No."

A sigh left Sora at this though really he wasn't put too down by the what...third no?  'Maybe I should leave him alone for the time being.......'  Rocking his head slowly side to side for a moment he once agian debated what he should do.  Relaxing his shoulders he looked at the other. 'This, is going to be a long two hours.'  "Ever thought about going to the Grand Line at all?"

"No."

"You know as much as i love carrying a conversation between the two of us, it wouldn't really hurt you to try and say more than one word.  And why not?  You don't seem to be a boring guy so why would you stay in the blues to live a boring life?"

"Because."

"You have a seven million bounty for showing marines that your...shoes. Are the greatest thing since slice bread, you so I'm going to need to be drunk to believe you want a boring life."

"I wanted nothing more than a boring life. I didn't get that choice."

"........."  Sora was quite and now turned so his back was no longer on the railing.  "No choice?   That bounty of yours, how did you get it.  Like really?  If you want a boring life then you wouldn't just attack marines unless....provoked."

"They took everything from me. I made sure to pay them back tenfold."

"................."  With that Sora pushed off the railing and moved away from Syrin.  "Hey, I get its not my concern, but.... I think a drink, well more than a, is going to be needed.  I had to hide mine of it for reasons.  Want some?  Swear it ain't the cheap swill."

With a derisive glance at Elijah, then at Sora, Syrin let out a mixture of a snort and an amused huff. "While this is going to make my sound like a hypocrite... Why not, as long as I'm in some shade."

"Shade?  Well it is inside so yeah, we'll be able to get out of this heat for a bit."  With that he waved his hand telling Syring to follow him before he headed inside the ship.  Going below deck he walked a bit more, he made a quick stop at the men's room (which was on the way to his destination).  Entering here he quickly picked up a chest that was at the foot of his bed, attaching it to his pants he turned on his heel and headed out.   Walking a bit more he entered the stroage room.  "Yes genius place to hide it I know."  Lightly chuckling he moved to one of the shelves and pushed the back of it.  With that a panel came loose and he slid it to the side.  "I had this be one of the first things installed.  A secert hiding spot for stuff, I think the person who made it assumed it was going to be meant for treasure or something of the like.  But I changed it to hide my drinks."  With that he pulled out two bottles of some expensiveish looking ale.  With that he moved from the shelf after putting the panel back in its spot and handed one of the bottles out for Syrin.  "Here, I love this brand....never going to taste anything like it after this."  He siad with a forced chuckle

Syrin, having grabbed his jacket and chains and sending one final unamused glance at the deck, followed after Sora all the way to the storage, watching idly as he withdrew two bottles of a fairly expensive looking drink. Staring at Sora blankly for a moment, he took the botle and nodded his thanks, leaning against the wall and popping off the top, sniffing it once before taking a swig and letting out a breath afterwards. "... Not bad. 'v had worse, and I've had better, but all around... Not bad." Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair, before gazing at Sora with dull eyes, all the while seeming to be contemplating something, if the glances he kept giving between Sora and the bottle meant anything. Finally, he spoke. "One question. You get one question that I'll answer completely and truthfully."

Sora leaned on a barrel as he drank from his own bottle. "One....got it."  He siad simply no words leaving him for a time.  As he continued to sip his own beverage.  He didn't rush to the question as he had to think about it for a bit.  "......What did the marines do to make you want to fight them to the point that they gave you a seven million bounty?"  he asked as he returned Syrins gaze, now paitently waiting for the response.

Syrin let out another sigh and took a bigger swig this time. "I was born in the West Blue on an island so insignificant most people don't remember it's name. It, and it's surrounding islands, mainly fished for whatever money we needed to keep a living going. One day, marines showed up and said that a vicious crew of pirates were coming towards the island and that they were here to protect us. Understandably, we were all quite pleased with the government for caring about the protection of such a small, insignificant island. Yet, as the months passed, the pirates never came. But the marines stayed. And then they began treating themselves like kings. Taking what they wanted, when they wanted. We stayed quiet because what could we have done? The pirates could have very well still been coming, and the marines were threatening us whenever we started to muster our courage. Yet, it changed on one day. I remember I was watching the sea, daydreaming, when someone ran up to me and said something was going on in town. Apparently, one of the marines was accusing one of the village girls of harboring pirates in her home." He paused and clenches his eyes shut, then took another long drink. "Her father said he would know if she was harboring pirates in his house, as it wasn't all that big that someone could be hidden in it. He was shot. That's when I arrived, seeing the girl getting dragged away, and her father lying on the ground, bleeding to death from his gut. I didn't accept that as our new life, and rallied the whole of the village, old, young, man, woman, everyone. I gathered them as one and took them to face the marines. Heh..."

He gazes blankly at the distance as memories begin to play again in his mind. "The problem with charging a fortified bunker where the enemy has more guns than you is that, unless you're willing to sacrifice dozens of lives, you aren't going to breach it. But that's what we did. One after the other, they fell to bring us one step closer to our freedom. And when I reached them, I ensured that no one else would have to die... But it was nearly too late for most of them. Only I and one other villager stood after that massacre. Yet, our job wasn't done. We continued on, killing any marine that stood in our path till we found the village girl. She was... Well, I assume you know what happens to pretty young ladies that morally skewed people take interest in. As I went to gather her in my arms, the final marine, the leader of this whole operation, showed with a gun pointed right at us. As I went to cover her, the other villager stepped in and took the shot. I killed the marine right after. We won, but at a grave price. I buried the villagers and burned the marines. Unfortunately, the girl couldn't stand the life that was left her after this travesty and took her own. I buried her next to her father. After that, I put quite the notice in front of the now ghost village of who I was, what I looked like, and what I did. From then I travelled around and ensured that any marine I came across met an untimely end. And that, is how I recieved my bounty."

Sora was silent through this all as he listened to everything from start to finish.  By the end of it there was a long bout of silence, he didn't even attempt to make light of the situation as really after hearing that how could he.  Taking a gulp of his drink he shook his head as he looked at the door.  "The marines.....sure has fuck love to screw people over don't they?"  He said in a quiet tone. "I won't lie and say I fully understand the shit you went through... But, I...I honestly do get it, not just saying it..." After saying this he took another big gulp of his drink and scoffed.  "Justice? Ha.....they only deilever justice when they finally arrive at hell."

Syrin only nodded and took another drink, visibly meloncholy after speaking of his past.

After a moment of silence Sora got up from his spot and placed a hand on a small chest that hanged from his hip.  "Sharing something like that.  Last I checked its common curtesy give something of equal value huh?"  He let out a light chuckle as he unhooked the chest from his belt and placed it on the barrel.  ".....I haven't really shown this to anyone, cause as you say, its none of thier concern."  Sighing he drank more of his bottle before putting it down and removing a chain that was around his left wrist it wasn't hidden in the least and looked like a normal bracelet with beads.   However this was actually the key to the chest, as one bead was unlike the others and had a special pattern to it. Taking this key he placed it in a hole of the chest and turned it soon opening the decorative conatinor.  Upon opening it revealed a geniune devil fruit. "Do you know what this is?"

Syrin stared at it for a moment, closed his eyes, and took a long drink before releasing a sigh that clearly said this kind of shit wasn't what he signed up for. "I've seen the outcome of owning and eating one of those accursed fruits, no matter how brief. Can't say I'm happy to see another one."

"Accursed fruits isn't even half of it.... If I could toss it, well I know for a fact I would."  Sora said in a bitter tone, not directed to Syrin in the least.  He reamined behind the small open chest as he kept his eyes on it he, taking another swig before looking at the bottle.  "Almost gone... I was born in the Grand Line, on the largest island of a chian.  Its known as the Zuhesk Chain.... Well not known much by the Blues.  The best thing anyone out here would know about them is thier main export which got them by."  He siad before holding the bottle of ale in his hand up.  "Zuesk ale, stupid ass name sure, but... Very popular."

"Well...was popular."  Sighing he moved his hand to the chest and shut it once again, he didn't want to really speak about what he was leading up to.  However he knew it would be for the best, after all the other did tell him about his past not much reason to hold back with his.

"I'll stop delaying now.  Anyway, I was born there to the infamous Lachance family, a mafia family to be exact and co owners of this brand.  We had a...shaky relationship with the island.  We were mafia after all, but we weren't bad either.  My family honest to god protected the island from pirates of all kinds, hell we even made sure marines more or less left us the hell alone.  My father the head of this family was often went on voages, going back and forth,  often brought my sister along for the ride.  I wasn't allowed to go at the time too dangerous they said."  He snorted at and shook his head.   "I had a decent life, sure a few attempts were made on me but from 0-15 just amazing.  Then.... We got in over our heads."

Stopping here he finished the last of his drink before he continued.  "Normal day, training, playing all of that grand shit.  My father and sister arrive on the island after another voyage to god knows where.  With a new prize in her hand."  He then nodded to the chest.  "That.  It was her first and only DF.  They got it from a dying marine, which should have raised red flags right?   I mean the marine had a DF and he was dying there had to be a catch.   And shocker, there was one.  Turns out they got the damn fruit from a shitty marine that stole the fruit.  Where did he steal it from or who?  Well...jackass stole it from a Warlord.  They didnt know, not until it was too late.  It wasn't long after they got back that things went to shit.  I guess one of the warlord's men followed them or something.  I don't really know, all I know for a fact is that we were attacked.  It wasn't your normal raid, we could handle normal.... No there was at least twenty pirate ships surrounding the island, my family knew a fight was coming so we were ready, but....my family against twenty ships?  Ha, pretty obvious what happens from this point.   These pirates...never heard of negotiations. I was hopeful that we could talk it out, say it was a misunderstanding and let bygones be bygones.  It was impossible and we were forced to fight for out lives and home. Fire razed the island, explosions happening every now and then for what looked like no reason.  We fought for so so long, but in the end I lost my siblings as I tried to get away scared shit less.  I tired to hide but, it didn't work out in the end and I got pretty messed up from it, have the scars to prove it... Would have died there if  my sister hadn't gotten my ass out of the fire, literally.   In such a short time everything was gone, my family and the cities, weren't visible with all the thick smoke.  She got me to a cliff to escape, wasn't her ideal plan but we kept getting cut off before we could make it to the docks.  Once we got there again we were found, by this...bitch of a woman.  I wanted to fight, my sister didn't give me a damn chance.  Shoving that chest into my arms she pushed me off the cliff a fall which I only dislocated my shoulder."

"She never followed after me, nor did anyone else.  I couldn't go back to the island a riptide took me away"   Letting out a sigh and starring at the chest. "Three days and three nights I struggled to stay float only having a chest and some drift wood.  Luck, and I mean a shit ton of luck got me to an island still alive where I was saved by an older couple...."  He then looked up at Syrin and forced another chuckle out.  "Guess you can blame that on my own family couldn't you? But...the actions that happened after that is what really pissed me off.  The marines covered the entire shit up.  All of those deaths sweapt under the rug.  Freak storm destroyed islan!  A freak strom?!"   At this he couldn't help but slam a fist into the wall cracking it just a bit.   They wouldn't even own up to what they did!  They didn't punish that Warlord for the slaughter....why would they right?  After all it was just a freak storm that destroyed everything I loved."   Calming himself down he slowly moved his hand from the wall and let it run through his hair as he took a calming breath.  "So yeah.... I get what its like ot have your life be forced away from you becuase of greed and marines."

Syrin glanced at Sora then closed his eyes with another drink. "Hm. So it seems."

"........Thats another reason I'm so invested in going to the Grand Line.  Yes to be pirate king, that is without a doubt something I'm going to do.  But...my other reason.  To get that sick bastard that destroyed everything, I know he/she is a warlord, and I'm going to make sure they pay back ten fold.  That, is far from an empty threat."

"Ambitious. Do you plan to use the fruit to exact your revenge?"

"Honestly?  No... Not right now I don't plan to.  Hell I don't even know what power that gives me.  It could turn me into a slug or something and I don't want to lose my ability to swim for something like that.  This fruit....its to make sure I don't forget for even a second what I need to do.  Its the last thing my sister ever gave me and despite how cursed it is I'm keeping it.  I'm going to use it to let that bastard/bitch learn who I am...before stamping the life out of them."

"Hmmph. Like I said. Ambitious."

"If it wasn't.... I don't think I could contiue on.... Ambitious, impossible, not going to happen.  So I heard, but I won't let doubt of people who aren't in my shoes stop me.  I'm going to kill the warlord, I'm going to be better than him/her... I'm going to make sure the Lachance name isn't forgotten in any generation.  That is my goal, and nothing anyone says or does will make me step off course."

"Good for you. I'm sure you'll accomplish it, or die trying."

"Yeah, I will... What is...or was your goal?  Or did you not have one even when things were good?"

"I... I was going to be the world's best fisherman. The man that could fish Sea Kings as if they were guppies. Not anymore though. That dream died with my village."

"Fish Sea Kings?  That....is utterly awesome to say the least."  Sora said with an impressed tone.  "Why are you letting something like that die?"

"Like I said. My dream died with my village." From the way he said it, it was obvious there was more to it than that.

"Letting something as grand as that die... I can understand really, why bother with something like that if people you love, or want to impress are gone.  Is that the reason you gave up?  Or is there something more to it?"

"I..." He pauses. "You see this tattoo?" He motions to the tattoo of two peoples faces drawn elegantly. "These are.... Were... My best friend and my love... With my partner in crime, my brother in all but blood, and the girl that took my breath away from the moment I laid eyes on her... Well..." He scowls and drinks the rest of the bottle in one go. "I'm sure you understand what I'm trying to say."

Sora gave a nod as he took his chest and placed it back on its spot at his hip.  "I do, without them...why bother?"  He said as he then took his empty bottle and went to set it up on a shelf nearby.  "It hurts to move on, to continue living while they can't.  At least for me.  Why am I still here? Do I deserve to be alive?  Should I give it up and just go join them?  ........Do you ever ask yourself those questions?"  He asked his back facing Syrin as he placed the bottle away

"Everyday. But... At least you have a reason to continue forward. Me? I'm just exploring the world for those that have fallen."

Looking over his shoulder at Syrin he smiled a bit. "You are going to run out of places to explore in these blues..."  He said wiht a light laugh before shaking his head.  "I still want you to join, but... I fully understand you not wanting to or not wanting to risk your life in the Grand Line."

"When the time comes and I've explored everything but the Grand Line, I'll do what I must then."

"How old are you Syrin?"

"Twenty."

"Just a year older than me huh?"  Hands in his pocket he turned and looked at Syrin. "We won't be in our prime forever, and facing the Grand Line with anything less than being the best.... Its going to mean death, that much is a promise.  After you finish exploring the blues you plan to enter the grand line right?"

"Maybe. Maybe I'll decide to sail off the edge of the world and see where that takes me. Who knows."

"Sad the say there isn't really an edge to sail off."  Keeping a smile on his face he cocked his head to the side.  "If you plan to do it, or even a small bit of you even considers going.  I think.... You should stay, I won't force you obviously.  But here you have a crew, one with many unique people to say the least.  Each with thier own goals to keep going forward and thier reasons to see it through to the end.  If you get lucky you might find a crew that will take you to the grand line when you are mentally ready..... But, I'm not certain how much we have in the luck department."

"There are more than enough people willing to go to the Grand Line, they just tend to need somone good enough to navigate it. I like to think I am. So really, I don't seem to have a problem there."

"Got it, just don't wait too long before you finally decide to go okay?  After all when we finally do get to see them again, we have to make sure to tell them about everything they didn't get a chance to see.  By the time we meet them..... Lets hope to have endless amount of tales to tell them about.  I don't know about you, but I think..... Thats something they would love to hear when we inveitably meet them again."

"I... Suppose."

"I don't have a lot left, but do you want another drink?  I think it might do us both good."

"I could go for a drink. Or nine."

"I hear you."  With that he got two more bottles and gave one to Syrin once again.  "Don't tell anyone about this stash, I usually don't touch it unles its been a partically....drink needing day.  Like now."

Syrin takes it with a grateful nod and a look that said he wasn't planning on doing anything like that anytime soon.

Taking his bottle he drank some of it before he started to head to the door.  "You know, you say you want a boring life...but if you consider hunting Sea Kings as boring....well I'm a bit worried what you see as exicting."

Syrin let out a short bark of a laugh. "Exciting...? Heh... Exciting for me used to be the idea of raising a family, that, dear captain, would have been a real adventure. But now? Now... Well, nothing is truly exciting anymore."

At this Sora let out a light chuckle and drank more of his drink.  "Family huh?  Never had the chance to even think about that."  he siad as he opened the door.  "Also, in a world this big, there's almost always something that can be considered exciting.  I got to make sure they didn't break anything, feel free to go wherever, just don't touch anymore of my ale."

Syrin snorted and waved a hand dismissivly, absently slipping on his jacket and letting his chain hang around his neck. "I've had my share of booze for today. All I want to do now is get to the island and continue forward. Go, take care of your ship, I've already done what's asked of me." With that, he slowly slid down the wall and closed his eyes, seeming to being to take a nap for the rest of the time being.

With that Sora left the room taking another and final gulp of his drink.  'Still not giving up on him............................  I want him as my navigator, I've decided this and I won't change my mind......................................easily.'

Zeon G. Zephyrfield
Finishing chocolate bar number one as without any warning, a broom suddenly appeared. It was a girl in a maid's uniform, who clearly didn't appreciate Zeon's actions towards her captain. Or she just found his presence abhorrent, though, really it didn't matter either way. He stared at her with an amuse-less look before unsheathing another bar of chocolate, revolving his attention back to the captain. The aura you give off is heated, but its ice compared to the blazing temperature. Thought Zeon as he merely considered the maid defending the captain as a wimpy move. But again it didn't matter, they were all sea criminals following the red haired dude. Upon taking a bite of his second bar of brown deliciousness, yet another one appeared, sparking with vibes he would wish he still had. Surprised at the young boy's words he stared at him for a second, while masticating the chocolate. Apparently he wanted him to stay, which... huh...? Pick up the what...? Zeon looked questionably at the begging boy, he couldn't believe what he had just heard. He was being talked about like some sort of rare creature in his presence. It wasn't exactly nice but... mehh wasn't bad either. The boy was very interesting to say the least. Rainbow huh... Keelhaul... and...cute...Well, what a lovely crowd. Sarcastically swimming in his thoughts while completely ignoring what the red-haired guy said.

Zeon looked around seeing the captain disappearing next to a black-haired fellow. With a tired sigh he balled up the garbage from the snacks and casually tossed them into the face of the maid, before leaping off the railing of the ship, right back atop the cabins roof. Advancing into his bag he made himself comfortable, by sitting on the edge with his legs crossed. "Oh yeah i forgot i had this map, might as well see what's out there." Laying the rectangular and professionally draw map with notes and details on the rise, he rubbed his finger from the now gone mirstone in the direction he assumed they headed in. "Silent Isle huh. Sounds like my kinda place." Smirking he looked over the deck and then peered to the seas. The ocean was sparkling in the sunlight, and-the island was in sight. Silent Isle was just beyond the few meters of boiling waters ahead. Yawning, Zeon returned his map to his bag and with his legs dangling over the edge of the roof, laid back in the hopes of catching some Z's.

@Mitchs98

Keya Fenris

Keya giggled and sat back down on his shoulder when he mentioned the heat. So she was right! She figured that was right. After all he wasn't exactly a small creature, even still he was covered in thick fluffy fur. Her tail was bad enough, she could only imagine how it was to have it all over her body. She shuddered at the thought, not wanting to be anywhere near that uncomfortable ever if she could help it.

At his question she grinned, "Lil bit of both I guess." She said. "Mostly bored though...everyone's too busy being miserable to talk to me." She added, pouting slightly. "Either that or they're too busy trying to be useful. I have nothing to do so I'm just kind of stuck down here until I can help." She explained. "Wanna maybe do something with me?" She asked. "Or are you too sleepy?"

Emilie Townsend

"Disgusting," muttered Emilie, studying the rubbish she had snatched out of the air before it hit her. Judging from the sickly sweet smell it was some kind of candy, Emilie didn't particularly care what other people ate but why did one small snack need it's own packaging? And why in the name of  everything good in the world did this scruffy little stowaway consider it appropriate to litter on the ship she had spent all morning cleaning? The young maid sighed and disappeared back below deck to find the rubbish bin, wondering why on earth Captain Sora had decided not to let her throw him overboard. It wasn't Emilie's place to question her orders but it was also true that the Captain might have made that decision without sufficient information and if she presented the right facts to him he might need to reconsider. In a tucked away corner of her mind Emilie opened a new file, tentatively titled "Evidence against the scruffy interloper" and resolved to keep her eye on him from now until they reached their destination, with any luck they'd be rid of him at that juncture and the matter would resolve itself but in the meantime...

...Later

Emilie loomed over Zeon, having tracked him to the roof and positioned herself directly between him and the sunshine, blocking the light with her hands on her hips. In case that wasn't enough to wake her target their was a loud, hollow thump as Emilie plopped something heavy down in front of the sleeping boy and announced herself with a light cough.

"This is the rubbish bin," she said, glaring down at Zeon with a contemptuous look and gesturing down at the round, wooden container that was emanating a slightly sour smell. "Since it didn't seem like you two were acquainted I thought I would take it upon myself to introduce you. On this ship this is where rubbish goes, not in my face, not wherever you happen to be standing at the time. In. Here, understood?"

Alex, Teri, Mac

"Wow, it really is a beautiful day outside!  My birdy is singing, Teri's flowers are blooming on days lik-..."  Before a boy with mismatched eyes could continue his words his attention was grasped by a very interesting sighting.  "Huh?  That doesn't look like a merchant ship...oh...no..."  Narrowing his eyes as he peered through the binoculars the boy gulped before running to the edge of his tree fort.  "Teri!  Mac!!  Come here!  Quick!! Hurry!!  Dash over here! Make haste!!"

After these words left the young ones lips the bushes started to move and out popped two people, one boy and the other a girl.

"What is th-"

"CODE NAMES!  WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THE CODE NAMES!?"   The girl shouted as she pointed at Alex one hand on her hip and a serious look to her face.

"H-Huh???"

"Don't huh me Alex!  We need to be using code names!!! Everyone knows super secret boarder patrol use code names to protect their identity from the enemy!"

"There is no enemy..."

"Yet! But what if there was!? We need code names!! And I gave you guys code names so we need to use them!"

"U-Um guys, male and female, boy and girl...kind of um..."

"Its just us here I don't think we need to use codenames right now."

"Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh you are missing the point!!"

"Uh...We got some trouble that we..."

"I'm not missing the point, I just don't see why we need them right now."

"You are just hopeless!  I have given us codenames for a rea-"

"Mac! Teri!! We have a problem!!"

"What!?"  They both snapped at the younger boy making him flinch as he gulped and pointed at the sea.

"There's a ship incoming....I...but its not a merchant, or a marine.  It doesn't look like a normal ship at all.  I think they are baddies, no good people, scoundrels, punks!"

"What!?  Let me see!"  Snatching the binoculars from the boy Mac raced up the ladder and used them, it only took her a moment before her eyes caught sight of the approaching ship.  Squinting a bit she was able to make out a few people on the deck but just barely.  "They don't look right."  Putting the binoculars done she looked at the two boys.  "As leader of the R.F.A.P!! I command we take action!!!"

"You know you could just say Righteous and Fun animal protectors right?"

"Actually I think RFAP sounds fine, doable, okay, not bad."

"Yeah if you spell it out, but if you just say it that's someth-"

"Focus!!!  Our island could be under attack!!  Teri!  You are going to watch the boarder!! Alex and I are going to prepare the attack!!"

"Um...What happened to the code names????"

"Shut up!  Lets go!!"     With that she hopped from the tree hoes and dashed off with Alex in tow both racing a distance away to another one of their bases that wasn't too far from here.  The remaining boy however didn't remain in his spot to survey the situation, instead he dashed off to, but not to follow his friends.  Rather he ran off to the cove to get something and conduct his own operation.

Sora Z lachance

After his conversation with Syrin, Sora made his way back onto deck and was instantly hit with a blast of hot air once again.  It made him reconsider going back in, but he decided against it.  Might as well try to get used to the heat while he could, since he would be on that island for a bit.  "I realllly hope this is just a heat wave and it cools down tonight or soon, this is going to melt my shoes to the ground at this rate."

Empty bottle in hand he made his way up to the steering wheel, they were far closer to the island than he originally thought.  At first he assumed it would take at least two more hours to get to shore.  But they must have gotten in a current as well as been given a nice breeze as the island was now far closer, less than a few ten minutes out.  He needed to adjust their course so they could head to the docks, and not crash on the rocks.  He assumed thanks to their lack of a pirate flag it was fine to stay at the docks till everything was ready.  One thing was for certain however....he wasn't leaving that island till two things were done.  First and foremost....he made a flag for his ship.  After all!  He can't call himself a true true pirate till that was done!  And secondly, he wasn't going to leave till he got some sort of navigator to work for him, he had one he wanted, but he needed to figure out a way to make it permanent.

Letting out sigh he put his empty bottle on the railing while he leaned against the wheel casually turning while he starred a bit blankly out at the island.  Now starting to get lost in his own thoughts.  A small yawn left him and really he was getting close to taking a small nap when something very suddenly woke him up.  Out of no where, there was a loud bang.  One that could be noted came from the island, and after that there was silence for a second or two... But then it was followed by the whizzing sound of a cannonball.  Something that was heading right to them.

The cannonball splashed a few meters in front of them but was close enough to send spray to the front of the ship.  This of course alerted Sora as he stood up and looked around confused.  "What now????  I didn't even do anything yet!"  He exclaimed as he soon heard another blast of a cannon from the approaching island.  "Cannon fire!  Everyone! We are underattack!!"  He shouted unaware this cannonball could very well hit the ship as it soared right for it, and before it could even land another shot was fired.

As this was going on, one may not notice a small canoe, one that was upside down approaching the ship silently yet very quickly.

Cait Merlin

Cait quickly stored her guitar into it's case as the first cannonball landed in the water. She ditched her guitar and case where she had been sitting as she ran toward the front of the ship. "Air slash!" Holding her finned arms in front of her, Cait slashed the air with one of her arms and sent an energy wave at the second cannonball. The energy wave sliced the ball in two and the pieces landed in the water on opposite sides of the Lucky Nova. Cait used her other arm to send a second air slash at the third cannonball, dispatching it the same way, but there were more cannon shots fired. As long as they were shot one at a time and she didn't get tired, Cait might be able to deal with the cannonballs herself, but that's when she noticed the flipped over canoe.

"Captain, looks like someone else is in the waters with us. They might have been capsized by a cannonball," she started to say. "Someone take over for me. I'm goin' to check it out." Fishman weren't common outside the Grand Line; humans couldn't swim forever like she could. Cait climbed over the side of the Lucky Nova and dove into the water. Once submerged in the ocean, the bikini-top clad fishwoman hybrid started to swim toward the canoe. "Hello? Are you guys alright?" she asked; bubbles left her gills as she talked underwater.

Norman "OH MY GOD, WHO STARTED FIGHTING WITHOUT ME" Newman

Norman was prepping a meal he had read about in a book. "Fish sticks" and fried potato wedges. He would have made a savory barbecue sauce to go with it, but they lacked the ingredients for anything of the sort. Thankfully they would be landing soon so they didn't have to keep hunting wild animals for food, and using the last of their produce with it. Instead he could make a whole range of tasty, delicious, yummy..... Norman wiped his mouth where he started to drool. What could he say, a chef rarely is immune to the delights of tasty foods themselves. He wondered if the crew would like barbecued pork or not.

He was just wrapping up the end of the meal and prepping to plate it when he heard yells of combat and canon fire from above deck. No hesitation, no waiting, Norman dropped everything he was doing and rain for the stairs to the upper deck. He ran up them and barreled his way topside, tucking and rolling as he came out the door. His katana was drawn from seemingly nowhere and he made a loud "HYAAAAAA" sound as he stopped. "What'sgoingon? Whostartedfightingwithoutme?!?!" Norman spoke in an extreme rush, excited to finally stab something or someone. Hopefully someone. He turned to watch as Cait jumped off the side and mentioned taking over for her. Not long after she said it he saw and heard canons firing at the boat. "DIBS!"

He thought now would be as cool a time as any to try that trick he saw a Marine captain do to some pirates once. Norman hopped up onto the railing of the boat and held his katana at the ready. As the cannonball soared towards the boat he moved into it's path. He caught the canon ball on the edge at the end of his blade and redirected it down the length of the blade and sideways into the ocean, diverting it entirely from the boat. Norman frowned at his sword and the canon ball that hit the water. That wasn't what he was aiming for at all. The Marine had been able to spin entirely with the canon ball and redirect it back to the pirates who'd fired it. Well it appeared he'd need to practice that one a bit first. Besides, it probably looked pretty cool anyway. He smirked, betting his crewmates were pretty impressed!

Syrin Insinu

While it may have looked like Syrin had sunken down to the floor to take a nap, he was doing anything but. Having the bottle that Sora had given him in one hand, and his dagger twirling lazily in the other, Syrin was contemplating on the conversation he just had with the captain of this ship. While he did feel a bit more comfortable around Sora, that didn't change his desire to go his separate way and to live out his life. He had already gotten his "revenge", and he truly had no desire for any more beyond finding the person who took away the kill on Robin from him, though that was fairly petty and it was just to get satisfaction. Though Sora's quest for revenge brought up some questions in mind about his fruit. He may have said that he didn't know what it did, and that it may as well turn him into a snail, but Syrin found that hard to believe. The fruit was worth enough to destroy a whole island for, which meant it was extremely valuable. Hundreds of millions of bel if he was going to be honest with himself. That was a target put on this crew the moment anyone found out the captain had an uneaten fruit of that magnitude. The reasons to leave this ship were just building and building. Syrin sighed, and took a swig of the ale. He really wanted to get on the island and just continue his life. He sighed again.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of a distant boom, followed by the swaying of the ship ever so slightly. Narrowing his eyes, he growled and shoved himself to his feet. Drinking the rest of the bottle in one go, he shoved it in his jacket pocket and re-wrapped his chain around his arm and clipping the dagger back on it. Stalking onto the deck, he started spinning his chain lazily, while eyeing the crew with half lidded eyes. "So... Someone wanna tell  me who's interrupting my me-time, and when I get to kill them...?" He paused and moved towards the edge of the railing and stared at the rapidly approaching canoe. His face morphed into that of annoyance as he began spinning the chain faster and faster. "Look's like I'm going to get my wish sooner than later. Goodie..."

Seth and Keya ...oh and Xiao

Splash! The sound of a canon ball hitting the water completely derailed Seth's train of thoughts. He had been pondering about what he thought about this Zeon guy. He was sort of glad the boy could stay, but the boy was so ignorant. No thank you or anything. The boy just threw his trash and walked away. Seth didn't know what to do. Follow the boy and ask for an apology? Not really Seth's style. Leaving him in peace? Definitely not his style either.

Non of that lamenting anymore. They were under attack. "YEEEEEHAAA!" Set screamed in anticipation. He finally got a good excuse to play with his favorite kind of toys, the shooting and exploding kind. The past four days he had been nagging Sora about the cannon. He really wanted to take the old thing out for a spin. He was the ship's marksman after all. Sora said no countless times. Somehow Seth got the feeling that Sora wanted Seth as far away from the canon as physically possible. However, Seth could be very persuasive (read annoying). He got Sora to promise that when the need would arise he could fire one or two shots with the canon. That was all Seth wanted to hear. So what that he had to promise upon the pirate code to wait for the a dire need. No big deal. Sora probably hadn't expected that the day would come so soon. Seth ran over to the canon and started pouring gunpowder into the cannon.

Before Xiao could reply to Keya, the sounds coming from outside made his ears twitch as he completely shifted his attention. It was the sound of a canon ball. He smiled as he looked at his tiny friend. "Well, little one, it seems we both will have something to do pretty soon" with that said, the giant panda rushed outside, with Keya still on his shoulder. The panda looked around, trying to understand the situation.

Keya perked up when she heard the sounds of cannon fire and the cannon ball hitting the water, grinning wide at the panda's response to it. He seemed to share her sentiments of no longer being bored. Sure it was fairly dangerous given the fact they were being shot at. But hey! Less boring now right? "Awesome!" She replied cheerfully, lightly clinging to his fur when he ran out so she didn't fall off. Once outside she looked to see Seth already prepping the cannon to fire back. "Hey Seth! Any clue what's shooting at us?" She asked, having been downstairs for the initial hail of cannon fire.

She was definitely excited now however, watching with wide eyes as everyone seemed to scramble about and prepare for the fight.

BOOM! "Yeah! That's what I'm talking about!" Seth exclaimed as he watch his canon ball fly through the air ... and drop in the water about 5 measly meters from the boat. "Well ... That was meant like that. Just a ... eh ... warning. Yeah! Fear us, bitches! We have a big canon too!" Admitting your mistakes was for the weak. It was not really his fault anyways. Sora did not want him to get acquainted with the canon, so how could he expect him to shoot straight at the first shot. Moreover, Sora had said that he could only fire two. Not that Seth would follow his rules, but he would have to make the next shot count. He had to show Sora that he could be trusted around the canon so that he might get more permission in the future.

His mind was racing over all awesome possibilities to make the next one count (including, but not limited to throwing the ninja-kid after the ball to deflect it in the right direction midair), when he noticed Keya. "Hey Keya! I have no clue and I simply do not care eith-" Seth told her, until something disrupted his language capabilities once again. "Wait a minute ... no, that's crazy ... I am crazy! ... and also dangerous ... I love danger! Fair point. It's been decided. Keya, how would you like the ability to fly and check it out by yourself?" Without waiting for her answer he started prepping the canon with a lot more gunpowder than the previous shot.

Xiao was about to scold Seth on the waste of munition, but then he heard his last comment, and immediately understood what it implied. And he also didn't like it. Not even one bit. In fact he was rather angry about Seth's suggestion. "Seth, I am warning you. If you try something which is dangerous for Keya, I will paw-nch you. Really hard." said the panda.

Keya stared at Seth as he seemingly stopped talking mid-sentence, wondering what he was thinking. Knowing him it was a crazy idea akin to blowing up the bell tower and ziplining down it with them still inside. She was even more confused as he talked to himself, a grin forming on her face. Maybe Seth was crazier than she originally knew, it definitely seemed that way. When he asked if she wanted to fly she easily figured out what he meant, even before Xiao's threat. "I'll be fine panda man!" She assured him before hugging his neck...or what space of his neck she could grab, and running over to Seth.

"So what's the plan?" She asked. "Do you think you'll be able to do it? That last ball kinda didn't make it..at all." She said, staring at the water where it landed. She didn't care if she had to swim, she'd just rather not be shot into a tree or something.

"Of course I can do it!" Seth said confidently while he worked the canon. "I have been a gunner for quite some time now. It's just that Sora didn't take good care of this baby, it's rustier than I'm used to. And yes, of course it's dangerous. Have you met me? Everything I do is dangerous to some extent. Panda-sensei, I would be honored to receive one of your famous paw-nches. That would be amazing! And even at full force. Wow! The only thing I ask is that we do that some other time. I'm busy at the moment as you can see. And ... I'm done." The lead ball rolled inside the shaft onto the load of gunpowder. "Now Keya, all you have to is climb inside and hold on the lead ball, like hold on for your life, which is kinda the same. I believe these balls are of the non-explosive kind, so you only have to jump of before it hits the sand. Wouldn't want to get caught in-between, now would we? So, are you ready?!"

Seeing how Seth was and the fact that Keya wasn't bothered by it, Xiao couldn't help but sigh. "You know what? Do whatever you want" said the panda. If cannon balls were to reach their ship, Xiao would manage to deflect some of them with a technique of his.

Keya listened with wide eyes as Seth spoke of his plan, obviously up for it even before he had asked. Sure it was dangerous, a little crazy, and she might get squished by a cannonball that may or may not explode...but eh. How was that any more dangerous than the bell tower? Of course when he asked if she was ready she didn't hesitate at all to run and climb into the cannon. "Ready!" She called out, her voice echoing in the chamber. "I'll be fine panda man I promise!" She added, knowing her fluffy friend was worried about her. She latched onto the ball with all her strength immediately after, tail and all curled around it. "Ready!"

Any reasonable human would have at least hesitated, but Seth was no reasonable human. He let down the glowing torch and lit the fuse. "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" He shouted. However non of that was audible as the canon fired. Seth ears rang. He watched as the canon ball flew towards the beach. He was glad to see that it would actually hit the beach. He was not prepared to lose his sister in arms this soon. Now all he had to do was pray that he was right about the kind of canon ball he had sent his friend flying with.

Zeon G. Zephyrfield

Zeon was nearing the end of a delightful dream where he was sailing a ship on a sea chocolate bars, when what appeared to be a huge waste bin swallowed him, thus casting him back to reality. "Ughhh... What in the....huh?" Opening his eyes slowly, his blurred vision caught an oddly familiar figure standing callously in black and white. It was the maid girl.... "Oh... it's just you...." Zeon sat up, comforting his head top. Apparently he'd been bopped like a pest by the maid with.... a waste bin. That totally solved the mysterious reason to the lovely dream's awkward ending, as it was because she completely ruined it. Giving her his attention, he listened to what she had to say, as its importance would have to be the same weight as the wooden cylinder. "She really woke me up for this...?" He asked himself, nodding in understanding to the maid's statement. Zeon kept position on the roof of the cabin, sinking deep into thought about the many possible endings the dream could've had. He refused to accept being swallowed by a waste bin, i mean... Come on!!!! Seriously?! Who would want to end their adventure by being devoured by garbage?!?!

Grabbing his bag quickly at the sound of interpreted cannon fire, Zeon stood up, observing the crew of pirates in their attempt to protect the ship. It was honestly amazing to see what a few recently gathered individuals with the same intent, show off their abilities as they did. "Guess this group of pirates ain't going down easy." He whispered, eyes wandering along the stretch of the sea. Zeon squinted at the island, just now realizing where the enemy fire was coming from, questions of "why?" plaguing his thoughts. Why was "Silent Isle" attacking an approaching ship, with no real evidence of its affiliation? He leaped off the cabin's peak, landing on the clapboard deck with a hollow thud, making his way to the ship's stem. Peering over at the trio by the Lucky Nova's cannon, he noticed the young boy who reasoned with the captain for his sake not too long ago, aiming live ammo at the island. Shuffling through his bag, Zeon made his way to the young boy, tapping him lightly on the shoulder and offering him a chocolate bar. It wasn't much by the standards of others and would hardly be considered gratitude, but to him, giving up a bar of chocolate when running low on them was a huge honor.
