In a well lit house, towards the more expensive side of town, Melanie Coulson had her feet up on the kitchen island stool opposite her and a bowl of Cheerios in her hands while she spooned in the yummy goodness. Her mother was at the sink, her father nowhere to be seen and her brother was still trying to inspect his newly broken thumb on the couch. "Jamie give it a rest! You'll make the bloody thing worse!", Melanie called over to him, his actions frustrating her. "Ya know I'm starting to wish I stayed at troupe!" "Enough Melanie", her mother scolded, loading the dishwasher. Melanie rolled her eyes lightly and continued eating her cereal. "Yeah Mel" "Jamie, I swear to god" "Both of you shut it."


Once again they were in silence save for the everyday commotion and the TV playing Australian News.


About 10 minutes later Melanie had finally retreated to her room and took the extra time to download some music, illegally, because who doesn't. With a few new songs in her ears she danced around her nicely sized room and did as she pleased, unaware of her Skype call until she went to answer it. Rolling her eyes she answered it, sat in her chair and put her hand under her chin. "Jamie, what the hell are you doing." The 12 year old on the screen made a pouty face. "Mum says I need to stay in bed. I need a chocolate."


Melanie was going to be off her head soon enough. Not taking any care at the given moment for her silly brother who she knew had a stash in his room, Melanie shut the call completely then pulled her headphones back on and continued to move about her room with 'The Thieving Magpie' a Overture from La Gazza Ladra, by Gioacchino Rossini, playing in her ears, and no regard for her only slightly complaining younger brother.
