She was happy with the result of which her words created. He seemed scared, and he should be. You can't trust the people here, no matter their level. That's the point with assassin's right? You just can't trust them, which makes them good at their job. But, since she was being uncharacteristically nice to someone she didn't know, who knows what August was trying to do. Anyway, when the conversation shifted to his family, she gave him a soft smile. "If course they'll miss you. I can't say the same, but they must have cared about you. You were obviously well fed." Okay, that was mean and she didn't really mean it. "What I meant to say was you've obviously been taken care of. It will hurt them, but over time they will come to celebrate the times they spent with you, and honor your memory." Maybe that would make him feel better, but once again, the mood changed when he callednher ma'am. "Oh don't do that, I just turned 18, I'm not old yet." That's when another person she had never seen b-wait...she had seen him before. Or, he looked familiar at least. "The Assembly room. Who are you?" Vacuum Vacuum Lurker Lurker

Dominic shrugged at Angelina as well. He never really flirted with anyone before so he wasn’t even sure himself. Though, she seemed to enjoy it.

Angelina then exited the room, most likely to go to the gym. Dominic followed behind her, a small hint of a smile on his face. Though, it could barely be seen along his angular features.

As they approached the gym, the loud banging noise grew louder. He had heard it in the ceremony hall but wasn’t exactly sure what it was or where it was coming from; but he knew now. The corner of his mouth twitched as his nimble fingers gripped the domino block in his hand. The noise from the gym grew louder, reverberating in his ears. It began to drown out everything else as Dominic inadvertantly focused on it. A low growl resonated in his chest.

Russel.

The meathead was probably in there throwing around weights like they were rag dolls. Dominic shook his head in annoyance, gritting his teeth. When Angelina suggested they go somewhere else, he was more than happy to oblige. The only problem was that the gym was the only one in the facility. They could go to the firing range, which was Dominic’s personal favorite place to train.

“Want to practice your aim?” He asked the freckle-faced girl in front of him. “You could do with a better shot.”

He, on the other hand, was one of the best shooters in Thunder, especially when it came to long ranged weapons. But he never stopped trying to get better. Along with his senses and intelligence, becoming an expert shot was extremely important to him. It could possibly help him progress through the ranks here. Eventually, he’d be able to leave the facility whenever he wanted.

But for now, he was stuck inside this forsaken place and forced to be around people he didn’t particularly like.

August's words warmed his heart. Rod lived a good life before this happened to him. "I'm sure my parents would be proud." Rod thought, sharing a small smile with himself. His mom did feed him well, she had the best cookin' in town by Rod's book. "Hwat? 18? Gee whiz, you look older than I do and I'm 23!" Rod had his first genuine laugh since he came here smiling wide. Then a man came up asking where he was. Rod felt much more comfortable at this point, but his mind started racing. "Is this guy here to kill me?" "What an odd queston" and "There's food around here?" all sped through his mind at a rapid pace before he calmed down. "I second the who are you, but also, where'd ya get the food?" Vienna had woken up from a nap since last night was a complete nightmare, literally. What had happened six years ago to her family and her life still left her a little shook. Due to this, she has night terrors where she relives her past in her memories. She relives the exact moment in which she watched the house she lived in, burns down with her parents inside and she remembers the first person she killed. Vienna isn't a killer, or maybe she is? Vienna feels that it's her fault that her parents died because of what she is, secondly Vienna couldn't do anything to stop the fire, and thirdly she has blood on her hands. Vienna let out a soft sigh as she got out of bed and put on a pair of dark blue jeans, and a white tank top with white black sneaks. Vienna looked at herself in the mirror as she watched herself touch her stark white hair, running her fingers through her hair until she parted it just the way she liked. Even though her hair was a different colour, she knows that it's a reminder of what happened in her past and what she had done.

Vienna looks away as she leaves her room, and begins to walk down the main hallway. She had heard of a ceremony taking place, but she didn't know whether or not she should go to it. Vienna stopped a moment when she turned around the curb and saw a man who was being helped by nurses. Vienna had seen him before, she had never talked to him before. Vienna didn't really talk too the others around here that much, and the same goes for the boys. Vienna spent most of her life inside her house where it was safe, and it didn't give her much time to socialize. Vienna was a bit nervous when it came to talking to men, but she kept those feelings hidden away. Vienna wanted to know whether or not he was alright, but she didn't have much courage to actually ask him. So she kept her distance from the corner and looked.

“Sure, I the noise is irritating to me so I know that you must be in agony.” Angelina replied. The facility was top notch, couldn’t they find a way to make the machine a little less loud. There were people here with sensitive hearing after all. Angelina raised an eyebrow at Dominic. His tone was bland as usual so she wasn’t sure if he was insulting her or giving her a tip. Hopefully after some time she’d be able to read him better. Angelina began heading towards the shooting range. “Being in this place must be hell for someone like you. All these noises and smells must irritate you right.” Angelina shoved her hands into her pockets as she walked. “But then again you don’t really seem like the type that’s bothered by much, did you learn or were you always this emotionally stunted?” She joked with a teasing grin on her lips. “It’s like you’re apart of the Queen’s Guard or something.” Angelina wasn’t sure how he’d react to her jabs but she would admit that he was curious.

Dominic walked alongside Angelina as they walked towards the shooting range, the thundering sound of Russel dropping his weights over and over again gradually fading away. Eventually, he just tuned the sound out; it was a skill he had been honing for a while now. It didn't work all the time and it took a lot of concentration, but it was worth if it helped block out that horrid sound. It also came in handy during Thunder missions, in which he used it to focus on one or two voices in large crowds of people. The skill was a good eavesdropping tool; along with spying on his targets, it allowed him to track them just by their voice.

''I am learning to block out the things I do not want to experience,'' he said in regards to Angelina's question. ''Though, it is not always easy.''

The frown that had already been playing on his lips deepened at her jab at his expense. His brows furrowed as he glared at her, his obsidian gaze boring into the back of her head as he followed behind her. Emotions are what get people killed. Even before arriving at Thunder, he had been fairly vacant emotionally. Growing up in his particular situation would do that to a person. It also didn't help that the Thunder instructors often advised him to ignore his morals and emotions, as they only got in the way. He agreed with this philosophy, severing his own connection with his emotions and focusing solely on his actions and intellect.

However, that didn't mean he liked being teased about it. ''Did you learn to always be so annoying or were you just born like that?'' He jammed his hands into his pockets as he turned the corner onto the hallway that lead to the firing range. ''Perhaps you have adapted in such a way that you could do nothing but irritate me.''

Ah now she had screwed up. Angelina could feel his dark glaring burning a hole in her head. Fortunately looks couldn’t kill so she was fine. “That’s really something, I imagine that it takes a lot of self control.” She nibbled Her bottom lip as she said nothing else. Angelina hadn’t meant to piss him off, she’d remember that he didn’t like being teased for future reference. “Wow harsh... but to answer you’re question I was born this annoying, sadly they weren’t able to get rid of that part of me like they hoped.” She shrugged her shoulders. Angelina had to admit that it was a good comeback even if she was a little upset. Being in Thunder helped her develop a thicker skin so that she wasn’t too upset about it. “Sorry Dom, I was only playing. Didn’t mean to piss you off.” After her apology she stayed quiet once again. When they reached the shooting range she looked around, since most people were back in the main room it was pretty empty.

Amelia had come to the facility shortly before the ceremony was supposed to start, a perk of being a level one. Since she didn't live at Thunder anymore, she could more or less come and go as she pleased, except for when she was called in of course. Then she was expected to drop everything and do their bidding. Which didn't bother her in the slightest. Amelia was alive because of Thunder and she had the mindset to do anything she could to make it up to them, which included going on plenty of missions for them and doing pretty much whatever they asked whenever they asked. She was on call 24/7, but in exchange she got to live in her own house, completely paid for. She had everything she could ever need and even got some money each month to do with as she pleased. Not that she really went out and did anything, she didn't have friends per se, but it did allow her to buy her current computer and a few other things she had collected.

Once the ceremony was over, Amelia looked around for Russel. She didn't really give two shits about the newbies, and he was the closest thing to a friend that she had. Maybe that was sad to some people, but she was more or less content with her life, so it was really fine. She went to the one place he had to be if he wasn't in the main hall; the weight room. She made her way down there, opening up the door. There he was, lifting some several tons of weight. No biggie for him, though. Amelia smiled, using her telekinesis to weigh down the weights. It was harder to do than the average lifting things out of her way or brushing her hair without using her hands, but holding them down wasn't too hard. Lifting it up would have been much worse. She had been there for ten years, though, so she had had plenty of practice.

Alys BarrowBeing a new recruit was hard. Not knowing anyone here was hard too. Alys had been brought to the facility under duress. Either join or die. Those were the only options. She was one to hold onto her life. Her brother, Jesse, hadn't taken it from her and neither would anyone else.

As she stepped into the main room her gaze moved swiftly over the people scattered about. Some people stood in groups while others were curiously looking around, like she was. Taking a deep breath, Alys stepped further into the room and leaned against the wall.

Maggie HartMaggie left her room and traveled the halls towards the main room. She could already smell the food as she turned into the entry where everyone was gathered. Without pause she walked straight to the food and helped herself to a plate full of finger foods. She was standing and eating while watching the newest video from Missio. Her power was the best.

Conversation on her to her left caught her attention. The guy sitting and stuffing his face got right to the point. She liked that. And then the country bumpkin opened his mouth. "It's right over there, weak sauce," Maggie tilted her head in the direction of the food.

Persia rubbed her arms as she listened to these people. I'm dead? she thought, panicking. What happened?

Persia frantically tried to recall what happened, so she tuned out what the guy was saying. I found my mother... she bit her lip, desperately trying to recollect what happened next. I felt something hard hit my head... my mom then took me... I awoke to find myself in a chair...

Persia then gasped and shouted, "So that's what happened!" She then blushed, because she disturbed the ceremony. She hung her her head, trying her best to cover her face. Once the assembly was over, the delicious smell of shrimp hit her nose. She turned to notice a plate of shrimp and other seafoods. Her mouth watered as she carefully reached for one. But in mid way, she stopped, shaking her head.

No. These guys are kidnappers. There's no way my own mother would kill me.
Persia bit her lip, and sighed. Talk about mommy issues. She straightened her posture and decided to head to the gym. She turned around to open the giant doors of the main room to leave. She calmly walks out of the room, and head straight towards the gym.

Once she arrived, she calmly opened the doors of the gym, and entered the room, the disgusting aroma of sweat immediately attacks her nose. She gasps, lifting her shirt up to her nose.

Well... I guess this is how I'm welcomed to Thunder.

Russel Corsair

Just as Russel had started to build a sweat someone walked into the room and began speaking to him. Russel kept his back turned to the individual and kept pulling on the weights, an ear splitting slam echoing through the room every time he dropped them. "Look if you have a problem with it take it up with someone else. Ten tons is heavy, it's loud when you let it go. Thunder are the tech ones, they can figure something out."

One final set. With the other person forgotten Russel began lifting with renewed vigor. Perhaps he was getting out of shape but the weights seemed to be getting heavier every time he pulled them up. That wasn't possible. This should only be ten tons, nothing he couldn't handle. It only fueled the fire inside him and he began straining his muscles as hard as he could. Refusing to be beaten by a machine the brute actually began growling as if he could scare the weight machine into submission.

With one final pull and a yell the muscle man pulled with all of his strength. The cord broke and the weights came tumbling down with a louder thud than usual. Russel stood up and had a bounce to himself. It always felt good for him to fully test the limits of his strength. He stretched his arms behind his back and looked at himself in the mirror when he saw the true culprit.

Russel spun to face Amelia, putting his fist above his heart in a salute that he'd made up for her. "Hello ma'am. I couldn't find you at the ceremony so I figured I would just get some working out in." The man grabbed a towel and dried himself off before throwing it into a hamper. "Is there anything you need? Is this...Person bothering you?" The brute glanced at the person who had spoken to him earlier, tilting his head to the side and standing to his full height.

Just then a girl walked into the gym and he deflated his chest a little bit. Russel tried to act tough but he didn't want to scare a girl, especially someone who was new. The man made it a point to remember every face in this place and their power in case he ever needed them. "And who might you be? You don't really seem like the working out type. Hi, I'm Russel." The hulk moved away from Amelia to offer a huge, calloused hand in greeting.

Deangelo Corsair

The food looked so good. He was so tired. These were the conflicting thoughts going on in Deangelo's head immediately after he had spoken to the two people. He was so spaced out it barely registered in his mind that the two had even spoken to him. He popped a mozzarella stick in his mouth and left it hanging out of the corner of his lips as he spoke.

"My name's Deangelo. I like to eat. Nice to meet you and junk." As if that was all anyone ever needed to know about him D inhaled the rest of the mozzarella stick and chewed on it happily. It hadn't dawned on him yet that he was in a room full of trained or yet to be trained assassins but he was too tired to care at the moment. He was looking around for anything that could closely resemble a bed. Maybe the table with all the food on it. Would they get mad if he shoved it all to the side to make room? Only one way to find out.

Deangelo began doing his zombie like shuffle over to the table when a new voice spoke up. He held the gigantic plate of food in his hands limply as his eyes focused on who had spoken. Something happened that had never happened to Deangelo before. When he saw a pretty girl with a plate stacked high with food...He stood up straight and his eyes widened as if he wasn't about to pass out.

"Weak sauce? More like...Oh I got nothing." He got distracted by his own food again and began devouring it happily. He scooted himself closer to the pretty girl though, eyeing her food as much as his. You could tell a lot about people from the kind of food they ate. "Hi." He said almost as an afterthought, not even making eye contact with the girl.

Dominic nodded at Angelina's comment about his abilities. He wanted to reply with something snide and rude, as he was a bit ticked off at the moment, but decided against it. He had picked up on the slight shift in the girl's demeanor, leading him to believe that she hadn't meant her words in a malicious manner. His suspicions were proven true when she apologized to him, stating that she was ''playing''.

Rubbing the back of his neck, he sighed, suddenly feeling like an asshole. ''Sorry. As you can see, I do not pick up on jokes very well.'' Back in his hometown, when the bullies who tormented him everyday would make jokes at his expense, they would also be pounding his face in at the same time. It was safe to say he wasn't too big a fan of humor.

The inside of the shooting range was empty, much to Dominic's delight. Sound pads lined the walls, preventing the shots from the guns and other weapons from making large amounts of noise. They had partially been installed because of his complaints, as the sounds of the rounds being fired around him during target practice made him want to cut his ears off with a plastic knife. He glanced at a wall, which served as the weapons rack. A number of firearms were positioned on metal hooks; a long bolt-action .388 TP rifle caught his eye. The sniper rifle had two scopes poised side by side with red lenses; it also happened to be his weapon of choice.

He walked up to it, unracked it, and then headed over to the shooting area. Positioning the scopes to his eyes, he aimed at the farthest target. Even with his enhanced vision, the scopes allowed him to see every detail of the paper target that was hanging about fifty yards away. He took a deep breath, focusing himself, and then pulled the trigger seven times in succession. After removing his vision from the gun's scopes, he admired his work.

Dominic had shot a smiley face into the target's head, with two holes making up the eyes, another filling in for the nose, and the other five serving as the mouth. He lowered the weapon and glanced at Angelina out the corner of his eye. ''And that is why I am the best.''

"Hi, I'm Russel," a boy now introduced as Russel came up to Persia and offered a calloused hand to her. The boy is actually good looking... but his angered expression made Persia a bit too nervous. She blinked and stared at his hand, her shirt still over her nose. "Uh.." her voice was muffled. "Persia Trust. It's hard to earn my trust, though." She winced. That was a horrible pun, she thought.

Maybe I could get some answers from him.

"What do these old guys mean about 'powers' and 'death'," she asked, her eyebrow raised. She finally placed her shirt down, still cringing from the smell. "There's no way she would kill me," she muttered to herself, placing her hands into her pockets.

"Is this some practical joke?" she asked him, lightly tapping her foot on the floor, coldly staring at Russel's eyes.

Caleb shook his head at Arianna, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at her. "You know exactly how I feel about friends, and for that matter, people in general Ari." His voice rumbled deep in his chest, his eyes sliding away from the one person he did consider himself close to so that he could take in the new recruits. He would have fun in training with them, for sure, finding out what their powers were and whatnot.

Some of them looked scared. Some not so much, but sometimes those were the most fun to break. Although he couldn't go all out on them, he could probe their minds and find out their weaknesses. He focused on a tall, thin redhead with a pair of thick, black-rimmed glasses. She was standing up there with the rest of them, and though she had a pretty good poker face, he easily slid into her mind and felt her panic well up inside of him. Since he was good at pressing down his own emotions, he could easily do the same with others.

A smirk appeared on his face, but he caught sight of Arianna's glare in his peripheral vision and heaved a heavy sigh, releasing his hold on the girls mind and turning to the blonde. "What?" It was his turn to ask, just to have her roll her eyes and turn away from him, shaking her own head. "Fine." He muttered, shrugging one broad shoulder and moving past her. "I'm going to blow off some steam." He paused briefly to glance at her, then kept going, past everyone else and through the winding hallways to the gym.

He could tell there were others in there already. He appeared in the doorway, noticing Russell and one of the few level ones he knew. He nodded towards both of them, his eyes lingering on the new girl for a moment before he headed over to one of the machines, discarding his shirt before beginning to use it.

Arianna, used to Caleb and his attitude, didn't really say anything back to his comment about how he felt about people. She did cast him a sideways glance, though, before searching around for someone more interesting to talk to than him. She loved Caleb like a brother, but his anti-social attitude sometimes really got to her, considering she was pretty much the polar opposite.

As she was looking around, her eyes landed on the new people. She studied them, tilting her head to the side a little. People were mingling now, but a few of the more timid newcomers were still standing up on the ledge. She glanced over at Caleb, doing a double take when she realized he was studying a redhead, standing up on the ledge still. Scoffing, she just gave him a look, which he picked up on almost instantly, his eyes moving to meet hers.

What?

She rolled her eyes and shook her head, and then he went off to the gym. "Of course." She muttered, though there was a small smile playing at her lips. Letting him go, she walked around for a little bit, before her eyes landed on a blonde she hadn't seen before, leaning against a wall. She contemplated for about a split second before approaching the timid looking girl, plastering a bit but not fake smile on her face. "Hi! I'm Arianna. What's your name? Don't tell me what your powers are, though, I like guessing." She studied the girl for a moment, then grinned. "I got it. You look like a water user." Though she knew she was undoubtedly wrong, she liked using power guessing to break the ice.

Rod said smiling at the newcomer. It wasn't the fault of others if they were mean, they just weren't raised right. "Nice to meet both of y'all, the name's Rod." When Russel adressed him in such a way, he raised a brow, then, without saying anything, he just left. He didn't think much of it, which was surprising. He went back upstairs to the Main Room. It upset him that he couldn't make many friends because he refused to speak. He looked at all the other people sparking up a conversation, something that was hard for him to do. He sighed as he sat down on the floor, grabbing a cupcake from the counter and looking around as he ate it. He shook his head then rested his head against his hand. 'Well, I guess I dont necessarily need friends.' He thought loudly.

“It’s fine, you don’t have to apologize..” Angelina waved her hand dismissively. She had already forgiven him. She hadn’t expected him to take her teasing to heart. She would remember not to poke fun at his lack of expression again. Angelina watched as he picked his weapon of choice. She grabbed her own gun, a Desert Eagle Mark XIX. Angelina turned to see Dominic already setting up to shoot his target. She walked a little closer to get a better look. It wasn’t surprising to that he’d managed to hit the furthest target with ease and he’d even managed to make a smiley. Angelina let out a whistle to show how impressed she was. “Nice, your title suits you.” She said.

Angelina walked moved over to some targets. She positioned herself and started to fire. Her goal was to hit the third farthest target in the center. Her eyebrows were furrowed as she concentrated. The young woman let out a small huff of annoyance when she wasn’t able to hit it dead center. She managed to hit some fatal areas that would kill her target or at least have them bleed out but she couldn’t reach her goal.

Sometimes Clara wondered what was the point of having a ceremony to welcome new recruits when most of the existing members of Thunder didn't give a damn. The whole thing just reminded her of school, complete with speeches and things that no one ever really listened to. Well, at least Clara never really did. Still, she made her way towards the venue because there really wasn't much choice anyway. She supposed it wouldn't be too bad, having a 'free' day -whatever that meant seeing as there wasn't much to do with all that free time anyway. In her right hand she held a book tucked lightly against her side.

Reaching the main room, she paused a few steps inside and glanced around. A group of mostly vaguely familiar faces mingled about the room, some she knew personally, some she had only seen in passing, and fewer still completely unknown to her. There was some sort of commotion to her right and she turned to see a couple of nurses leaning Lucas against the wall. It was nice to see him back on his feet...er, partially anyway. Moving over, she leaned on the wall next to him.
"Hello Blitz." she said politely. "Feeling better now?" It was rare for him to actually die from a mission and she wondered how it'd happened this time. And if he remembered her yet. Disconcerting as it was to be forgotten, it had its perks too.

Once the announcements came to an end the crowd began to disperse. Looked like nobody was required to go on any missions today, though seeing as Lucas could barely remember who most of the people in the crowd were, he figured maybe that was a good thing for him. Several people were looking at him. He was sure some of them knew him but he couldn't remember them. He looked down and took a shaky breath. "I think... I can stand on my own now."

One of the nurses began to protest but Lucas had already pushed gently away from the wall and onto his previously numb left leg. A brief temptation to gloat about it washed over him but it passed as quickly as it had come. "S-see? I'm fi-" Just as he was saying it his right leg gave out and he crippled to the floor. "Ow." He grunted simply as the nurses leaned down to help him up again.

"Hello Blitz" A voice sounded off to his left and he glanced over to see a face that he vaguely recognized, but he couldn't quite pin the name or relation to them. "Feeling better now?" The girl said. Her tone didn't sound like that of malice so that was good.

"Um, yeah. A little bit yeah." He said as each of his arms were slung over either nurse's shoulders. He felt awkward that he had little to no recollection of her. "I think I died." He said, stating what was probably obvious.

The nurse on his right side smiled at Clara and spoke up. "We'll be heading back to the healing ward if you want to join us?" She asked in a kind tone.

Luca stepped into the main room with a cold, closed-off expression on his face. He had no desire to be there when he could be training somewhere else alone, as he always did. There were only a few people at Thunder he spoke to, and not many more tried. Since arrival, Luca had been one of the most guarded agents at Thunder. His closed-off aura and cold expression made him intimidating and unapproachable to most. He also had a reputation that rivaled Caleb’s concerning his skillsets. He’d been at Thunder for seven years, and had been a Level Two for a little over a year now, and in that time the other agents had come to know him as good at what he did. He wasn’t conceited about it, because he didn’t have any reason to be. His goal wasn’t to be the best.

It was to be free.

The twenty-four-year-old assassin stopped just inside the door and scanned the room. He’d been late enough to miss the speeches given by the staff, and the induction of the newbies Thunder had swiped off the streets. These induction ceremonies were one of things about Thunder he hated most, because they were reminders of his start at Thunder, and the discoveries he’d made about the organization since. Putting his thoughts out of his mind, he took stock of who was in the room. Most everyone was. There were only maybe four agents he knew who were missing from the crowd gathered in the assembly hall. Luca had no doubt where they were, because it was where he wanted to be. But Alex wasn’t going to let him out of that room until he spoke to some other agents, and he knew it. The staff was always gunning to make Luca stop being so solitary.

He caught sight of Augustina, and the right corner of his lips turned up in a small, and rare smile. There was a smile on her face as she spoke to a few other agents, and he paused for a moment to take her in. Her beauty drew him in every time he looked at her, though he was working on not letting it affect him so much. Her black hair flowed around her shoulders, framing her pale face, which held her captivating blue eyes and gorgeous smile. Once he knew he had his demeanor under control, he crossed the room in long strides, stopping only once he stood by her side. Standing at six foot five, he towered over her five foot five frame, but he liked how short she was. Her height only added to her appeal in his eyes.

"Have I missed anything important?” he asked her, his navy blue eyes smiling down at her.

She was enjoying the conversation that was going on, for once. Even the anti social need some socializing everyone once in a while. And all was going good until another person stood beside her. Looking up, August took on a genuine smile as she saw Luca. Oh man Luca was her favorite person in this entire place, the only one she could truly stand. They became friends after a bit of time, but she started devopling romatic feelings for him soon after. "Nothing much Luca, just welcoming thr new guys," She said, looking back at Rodney and Deangelo. The tips of her ears had gone a bit pink, and August couldn't seem to contain her smile. "Luca, Rodney and Deangelo. Rodney and Deangelo, Luca," She said, introducing everyone.

If a Thunder newbie was unfortunate enough to wander towards one of the darker parts of the room, they might've felt a chill run down their spine from the narrowed, silvery eyes watching their every move.

Damien hated these little ceremonies with a passion. New faces, new obnoxious dramas and clingy pests, new enemies.

Perhaps worst of all, he was supposed to welcome these idiots. And sometimes he did, but only if it was absolutely necessary. Otherwise, he only attended for the slight entertainment their fears and uncertainties brought.

The blurred images and sounds of his first day still haunted his memories some nights. That didn't mean he'd show these new kids any mercy, however. Damien sure hadn't gotten any.

No one dared to approach him, and he wasn't surprised. Perhaps a tiny bit disappointed he wouldn't get to scare anyone, but not so greatly it was worth doing anything about. Now a touch bored, he simply leaned on the wall with his arms crossed, listening in on all the inane conversations that surrounded him.

What a place.

Amelia rolled her eyes as a newbie she recognized from the ceremony came into the weight room. She didn't really have time for the new kids, she needed people who were more matured and knew what the hell they were doing. She lifted her shirt to her nose, making Amelia roll her eyes again. Sure, sweaty Russel didn't smell like Roses or anything but she could at least have the decency to pretend like it didn't exist when she walked into the weight room of her own free will. Honestly, what did she think a weight room was supposed to smell like anyways? A candle store? Whatever. She was sure the girl had some terrible back story like the rest of them that could have anyone sobbing by the end. Poor girl. (Sarcasm, if it's not obvious lol)

Amelia could tell that Russel was starting to struggle with the weights, but he was definitely doing it. Good for him, being able to use his ability like that. Thunder would be impressed. All of a sudden the strings snapped on the weights, causing Amelia to jump and release her hold on them. Well. Maybe they wouldn't be too happy about that. Oh well. It's definitely not the first piece of equipment he has broken. Or... the first anything he's broken.

Amelia smiled - er, attempted a smile - at Russel's offer to get rid of another girl that she hadn't noticed when she walked in. She seemed plenty annoyed, that was for sure. "I got here only a few minutes before it started. And, I suppose I'll let her go, this time," Amelia said in a voice that would have shot poison if it could. Russel greeted the newbie, offering her a hand. Always so polite, she thought. Amelia hadn't rubbed off on him at all, if anything he had rubbed off on her. She was generally kind to people she saw on the street and in the outside world, but people in Thunder we're either competition or not worth her time. The girl made a dumb joke about her name, and immediately went off into asking questions. Before Russel could answer she butted in.

"A joke? You think this is a joke? Did you not just walk in here and witness a man lift ten tons? Is this a joke?" she asked, flinging a weight that was laying on the floor into a wall. "You should feel lucky to be here," she finished in a quieter tone. It really pissed Amelia off when they acted like Thunder burdened their life, when it had done so much for her own. The girl was ungreatful, really. What was her power even? Did she deserve to be here?

Alys BarrowAlys lost in her own thoughts was startled when a blonde haired female came up to her asking questions. One side of Alys' mouth tipped into something resembling a smile. "Alys." She waited and tried to keep her mind blank, in case she was a telepath or some other mental, while the girl checked her over, guessing at her power.

"A water user?" Alys laughed. "No. I'm an illusionist. What about you?" She raised a thin blonde brow, "I know you're not a mind reader." She looked around the room and noticed some people were already acquainted with each other. She looked at the girl beside her and asked, "Been here long?"

Maggie HartMaggie with half a sandwich in her mouth watched as Deangelo made his way to the table but stopped in his tracks to stare at her. She liked to eat but she didn't like to have an audience. Cocking an eyebrow, Maggie glared at him even when he continued to look at her food.

It was then that Weak Sauce, or rather Rod, spoke up. She spoke around her sandwich, "Advice?" Tilting her head to the side and staring off into the distance in thought she finally said, "Keep your nose clean. Do what they tell you. Don't piss anyone off. The usual stuff."

Her gaze turned towards August. She'd seen the girl around but had never been interested in making a connection. Maggie was more into people she didn't have to explain everything to. Or people who enjoyed food, she eyed Deangelo again before glancing at August again. "Maggie."
