She smiled, happy to hear it. "Now, I have'ta warn ya, not many men can stand t' see my chest an' stay alive" She joked with a small laugh.

Hitch, like Ilim ignored the door, taking a moment to finish his tea. afterwards, he bid Ilim adieu and Teleported to his office. there he met one of his assistants - a brilliant young man Phillip, who was almost as good with people as he was with coding - which he wrote as if he spoke it from birth. He had prepared on earlier request, a set of rugged military grade portable computers, along with a solar recharging battery pack. All in all, it fit into a nice back pack which Phillip had to carry, knowing his boss abhorred the concept of physical labor. By this time Black diamond had positioned itself over Matema, and the wireless network was refreshing at optimal frequency.Firebear said:"Hm, Mbuku, where are you right now?"
"We live in a small village called Matema near Kyela. It's about 400 km from Dodoma as the bird flies. We have some connection, but no one would be willing to share their computer or their electricity for this. No one else but us believes anymore."
There was a sudden knock on the door and a darkness nearby.
(Except instead of answering the door I'm going to sleep. Enjoy the sex scene, you night dwellers and weird time zone people.)
" 'He' asked, and I offered to come... But let's not dwell on semantics. Hitch Magnuson. It is an honor to make your acquaintance. This is Phillip, (He flicked his fingers in Phillip's direction absentmindedly) a rather sociable young lad who will help you set up your workstation, networks and accounts." Phillip bowed down slightly and gave her a big smile. "Charmed! I love your beads!" Hitch rolled his eyes slightly. "Where can we set up?" Phil asked enthusiastically. While he was doing that, Hitch was talking stock of the area, finding what little digital signatures he could, tapping into radio frequencies and hacking into the countries governmental servers to try and establish the state of the country. While he was here and he had a few hours surely, he felt that he might as well see what he could do insofar actually improving or at least prolonging these people's lives.Firebear said:Mbuku looked up from her bead work when she heard one of the women sitting with her cry out in wonder. There were two white men in the village, a rarity that had once meant death and pain, but nowadays mostly meant food and clean water. These men were alone and had nothing but their clothes, a backpack and an umbrella. Mbeku knew who they were. She stood up on her aching bones and greeted them.
"Karibuni kwa kijiji chetu, wageni."
She hobbled over to them and gazed at them with a searching look. She whispered in a rough African accent.
"Did he send you?"
She smiled a strangely white smile at Philip.Almosegosum said:" 'He' asked, and I offered to come... But let's not dwell on semantics. Hitch Magnuson. It is an honor to make your acquaintance. "Phil, you know what to do." He went over and began to set up, playing with the beads while the systems began to boot up. While that was happening, Hitch walked over to Her and asked in as delicate a manner as possible - "I am aware that , while not completely dilapidated, your town is not quite flourishing. Anything specific you would recommend be amended, should I have the chance to offer some assistance..."Firebear said:She smiled a strangely white smile at Philip.
"Thank you, dear. Would you like some? Our village lives off our bead work, you see."
She turned back to Hitch.
"My home is always open to friends of the Lord of the Warding Fire. He told me of your coming, but I am pleasantly surprised by your companion. Come, let us get out of the heat for his sake. The midday sun beats harshly in these lands to those who are not used to it."
She led them into a small house. Inside it is cramped, one room is kitchen, living area and bedroom at once. The bathroom must be in another building. Some stairs lead down into a basement and it is there she leads you. There is an elaborately decorated altar at the far wall and the smell of incense is strong. A small round table with a built in stool has been set up in a corner for the computer.
"You may start when you are ready. The faster we get the 'setup' done the faster I can begin to serve Lord Ilim's will."
"humanity is fickle, and they wont give up their luxuries even in the face of the poverty. I too am a luxury - something they won't give up. they confide in me their secrets, thinking that they are anonymous. They aren't. The question is not what I can do, but rather what would you prefer? I could easily close down the factories and have the owners jailed or fined into poverty, or I could blackmail them into submission and have them fix their problems and force them to spill back their bonuses into the surrounding country side... All of this simply because I know. As for Warming... again people are generally stupid, and the comfort and expectations that stem from the mid 90s, does not comply with our modern concerns for the future. I can not change the hearts of billions, but I can provide them with the opportunity to change it themselves - I can and do glorify champions for the causes that matter." Hitch looked over at Phillip, who was sat cross legged, swaying lightly and playing with beads, clearly waiting for Hitch to finish. He frowned before looking back at her - "He will teach you. I will be back in a few hours. I shall see what I can do." He nodded at her, before he disappeared. Leaving her with Phil who was looking in awe at where Hitch dissipated - "He is so cool!" He squealed, before gesturing for her to join him.Firebear said:"The waters are dirtied from the industries upriver. It makes the ones who drink from them sick with fever. It kills the crops and makes us more dependant on our beads than ever before. We are small and out of the way, the government focuses on the big cities and urban areas. The places with potential for industry. Sometimes there are charities coming through, but they have many more to help than us. Other than that? Could you stop global warming? Stop the coming droughts? You are a god of the digital realm. How much can you do in the real one?"
Her tone was not condescending or demeaning, simply honestly wondering.
(From the few Londoners I know, I can imagine a few colorful insults she might have heard during her performance (> ) )Delacare said:Nox sat on the dark side of the Moon. She was watching Jamie through the night sky. She had been for the last few hours. He was getting ready for bed, and had just got into bed. He tucked himself into bed, like he did every night.
'Poor dear. Why don't I sing you a lullaby?' She stepped out of the darkness closet and tucked him in properly.
"Mom? Is that you?" Jamie spoke sleepily and punctuated every phrase with a yawn.
"Yes it is, J. How would you like a lullaby to help you sleep? Just like old times." He nodded and snuggled into his bed.

Jamie was asleep before Nox was halfway through the song, but she sang it all the way through, knowing he could hear it in his dreams.
"Goodnight, dear." She bent and kissed his forehead before fading from the room.
Nox appeared in Harold's shadow cast by the desk lamp, but didn't allow him to sense her presence. He had fallen asleep at the keyboard.
'Poor dear. Jamie has no idea how hard you are struggling, just to make ends meet. You used to have such talent, until that woman broke you.' She transported him to his bed, changing his clothes to pajamas, and saved his work before shutting down the computer.
'I don't know if I should fix you, or let you scar Jamie so that I can be his rock.' She sighed heavily and stroked his face, removing the layers of built-up skin cells.
'Guess I'll just have to fix you if I want Jamie to turn out right. Lucky you.' She faded into the night.
Nox was walking in the sky above London. She spread her skirts and cleared away the clouds, revealing the starry sky and a beautiful crescent moon. She summoned a horn and played it, for all to hear, until the first rays of dawn peeked over the horizon.
