  The Neighborhood - What used to be Seattle, Washington, United States ​
  Inside the Facility - ​
  
  Cryogenic Chambers: Bottom Level (6th floor) - This is where each cryogenic sleeping chamber is laid out for the 10 "neighbors". It is at the very bottom of the Neighborhood in order to protect them and keep the temperature regulated from the radiation at the surface. Each chamber is spaced out about 10 feet apart. It is the largest room in the entire facility and was designed specifically to house the chambers and keep the technology safe and regulated during the last 150 years.
  
  Common Room/Regular Sleep Chambers (5th Floor) - Designers knew that eventually the "neighbors" would wake up from their slumber and therefore would need their own regular sleeping chambers and common space that were as close to normal as possible. On the 4th floor, Neighbors will find the common room, which is set up much like a living room would be set up, minus a television. There is a sofa and seats, and a dining room table that has been covered well until it is ready to be used. There is a small kitchen area, though there is no electricity or gas for hot food, obviously. Just countertops for some sort of prepping if needed.
  
  There are 10 sleeping chambers that are 8'6" wide and 14' 1/4"depth, big enough to fit a full-sized bed, a small dresser and that's about it for furniture.
  
  Plenty of toilets in the common space, though you have to bring a bucket of water with you because there is no running water. When you're done, you have to dump some water down the toilet in order to get the plumbing to work and then obviously use some water from the bucket for your hands. Showering and bathing are much of the same. But there is plenty of water that was rationed ahead of time that is undrinkable for that purpose. And plenty of water that is drinkable at least until you go to the surface.
  
  Infirmary/Quarantine Area (4th Floor) - This is where you will go for your daily health check-ups and obviously if you are feeling under the weather or need further medical assistance this is always here. There is enough medical equipment in this area to power a small hospital wing, though some of the equipment might be a little dated. It's better than nothing. This is also where those who are severely sick are quarantined from the others and monitored for the betterment of the Neighborhood to make sure the rest don't get ill.
  
  Greenhouse/Rations Room (3rd Floor) - This is one of the most delicate parts of the facility. While there might not be any electricity. There are plenty of battery-powered lights within the green room to keep some of the plants that can be grown underground alive. That being said, it takes a certain type of green thumb to grow food without any sun or natural light. One wrong move and the entire greenhouse could die off. This is also the location of the rations room, where Neighbors are expected to diligently keep check of what is still left and what is being depleted. Certain rations are more valuable than others, and certain items need to be preserved more than others so it is important to continue to bookkeep and be as accurate as possible.
  
  Weapons Room/Equipment Room (2nd Floor) - This is where all the weapons are held and where all of the equipment for self-defense is located as well as the equipment to head to the surface (such as the nuke suits etc.) Here you can practice sparing, practice your aim, or learn something new from the Questionable gun guy who may or may not be hanging around from time to time. It is also imperative that all weapons and equipment in this area are accounted for, through diligent bookkeeping.
  
  Surface Hatch (1st Floor) - This is the closest you'll get to the surface and NO ONE IS ALLOWED IN THIS AREA WITHOUT A HAZMAT SUIT AKA Nuke Suit. While radiation numbers may have decreased in this area significantly, no one is willing to chance poisoning, death, or more. There is a latch that is locked from the inside, it is locked with a timer and it is counting down currently. It will not release until the timer is up. Until then, you are stuck below the surface.

  From a young age, Max was driven to succeed. Given her circumstances, she felt she had something to prove. At first, it was for others but when it became more than clear that others were impressed by her work in and outside of school, Max never felt that she was doing good enough and needed to do more. Max is imaginative, with an unrelenting imagination and creativity that knows no bounds. She is open-minded and driven by curiosity with an intense desire to learn everything she possibly can. And she is objective, she wants to know the truth wanting to know what is really going on beneath the surface. She enjoys a good joke and likes to laugh when she feels she has the space and time for it.
  
  However, with the good comes the bad. While there was this insatiable need to do better for herself, the need to do better for others and lead them was never there. Max took the back seat in many opportunities where she could have been in the driver's seat simply because she wanted to focus on her own self-goals. She can get lost in her own train of thought, even when she is with other people. Max inadvertently comes across as insensitive or unkind, even though her intentions are generally good. She also tends to be a bit of a perfectionist and can be impatient when things aren't exactly how she wants them to be. This can be a problem when trying to lead a group of very different people.
  
  She's not someone who lets people in completely but also not someone who keeps them at arm's length...you earn her trust and you earn it for life until proven otherwise. Max is a loyal friend and a loyal partner who will put her life on the line for you if it comes to it.

  History:
  Max was born and raised in a Mormon family of 10, in Boston, Massachusetts. Being the youngest of the 10, all of them were highly successful, highly motivated people. Doctors, lawyers, law enforcement officers, military men, you name it...it was something that made her feel like she always had to prove herself to be worth being in the family even at the youngest age. Her parents didn't exactly make that any easier for her, they were cold and unwelcoming people who Max felt always shouldn't have had children but due to the nature of the religion they swore their soul to overcompensate and managed to have a whole fleet. Her father was a Doctor and a pediatrician, a man who was known to never be satisfied and showed that dissatisfaction when he felt necessary. Her mother was just a housewife...but at the time they were married, that was a pretty normal thing. Out of the 10 children, Maxine was one of two girls. Max came as a surprise to most, not her arrival, but the fact that she was a girl rather than a boy. Her parents had picked out the name Maximillian and when Maxine arrived, they decided to name her the feminine version of the name instead of picking a new one together. While she was allowed to carry out her education along with the men in her family, she was also meant to carry all of the housework with her mother and her sister. The workload to do both at the same time was painstakingly difficult.
  
  The name didn't treat her very kindly all throughout school but nobody really treated her very kindly, period. Max was known as a "know it all" a "try hard" someone who wasn't around to make very many friends and when she did, they almost always turned their backs on her. So she built up her defenses in school as well as out of it. Her siblings were not the loving type. They were the type to take what they wanted, when they wanted it, and only for themselves. Max was never given the opportunities they had because she was a woman and because she was young, she was to know her place and keep in line and overall just keep her mouth shut. She was good at it, at least, doing all of those things. She took the back seat and stuck to the book, which was what people liked about her.
  
  It wasn't until she was about 25 or so after she'd graduated school, and became a meteorologist (not for TV but one that helped predict natural disasters), that she decided that her teachings with the Mormon church weren't...what she thought they were. At first, she thought her family would maybe support her in her decision to turn away from the church. But of course, she should have known better.
  
  After she broke away from the church, her parents, siblings, and any other family she had connections to cut off contact with her. In the somewhat modern world, Max found herself exiled from everyone she thought she loved and cared for. Fortunately, she had enough money to carry herself, but without any sense of community outside of her own church, she felt just as lost as ever. Max threw herself into her work from then on, trying to rebuild her life. She ended up moving to Seattle shortly after leaving the church to work for a private research company that had scouted her. There she met a man who was in a similar role as her and about a year later they were engaged. Max had made it clear that she wanted to take things slow, a stipulation that she now regrets. That job lasted from the time she was 26 to about the time she was nearly 29 when she decided to once again leave. But, she stayed in the Seattle area...finding a job as a grocery store clerk to help pay the bills. Until one day she was approached by two guys in suits....

  Shiloh, despite her gentle appearance in this photo is a bit of a bedlamite. When she's not goofing off or isolating, she is absolutely off the rails tearing into people or burning something down. Her patience with people who behave stupidly is paper thin. Shiloh definitely needs to be medicated. Some people would call her two faced, but it's more like five-faced. Her emotions and demeanor change like the weather.
  Shiloh is a very expressive and passionate individual. Don't make her feel stupid or crazy, that's when things get really sideways.

  Shiloh was a patient in many a psych unit. She was a foster child who couldn't seem to stay put, even if her presence was truly wanted. Shiloh spent most of her time going to MMA lessons and walking the woods at night. No one could stop her from doing anything she wanted to do. No one really understood why she would do odd things, like sit in the rain, eating soup. Or all the times she dove headfirst into danger to help friends that were in pretty life-threatening situations. But there was no reason to stop. To Shiloh, adrenaline rushes were a sign that you were doing life correctly. Gold star.

  Xander grew up with an eye to the sky, and a curious mind nurtured by his mother’s high hopes for him. Born in Alberta, he resided in Canada until he moved to California for his studies. After graduating with his Masters in Mechanical Engineering, he stayed at his alma mater, and moved from being in the classrooms at Cal-Tech, to the research departments.
  
  Kick-started by a successful work-study program, he entered the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and started off as an assistant to the senior engineers. Eventually, his talent and quick learning sent him to work on the rovers. Taking on the task of developing and monitoring the many sensors, he gained an expansive knowledge of the many different topics each of the sensors took readings for. Genetic and biological materials, atmospheric pressures, force readings, electronic systems, mechanical systems, etc. The list went on and on, and Xander became a jack of all trades, and master of some.

  History:
  Like his father before him, Daniel only ever wanted to be a cop, since as early as he could remember. In fact, much of his future seemed to have been mapped out for him form an early age. By high school, he was dating his childhood friend, Elizabeth, and they married at 18. A couple of years later, their daughter was born and three years after that, their son.
  
  For a while, Daniel had what he viewed as the perfect life. A wife who loved him, two healthy children, and he was rapidly progressing in his law-enforcement career. Then, in 1995, Daniel started an affair with a female nurse who he'd met whilst hospitalised after he was shot in the leg during a raid. The secret relationship lasted four months before Elizabeth caught them in the act. The married couple soon filed for divorced; even after Daniel ended the affair, Elizabeth couldn't forgive him for it.
  
  Knowing he was in the wrong, Daniel didn't legally fight Elizabeth for full custody of their children, but was instead grateful she agreed a schedule for the children to stay with him. However, as time went on, he found himself seeing less and less of his children, before he was finally hit with the bombshell two years ago that she was moving to England with the children and her new husband. Naturally, his contact with the kids was reduced to whether he could get the time off work to make a trip from Texas to the UK. When he did visit, it felt like he was a stranger to his own children and every phone call after that felt more forced, like even they were rejecting him from their new lives.
  
  Daniel's only focus became on his work, where he at least felt like he could make a difference and was still needed.

  History:
  Alphonse grew up in poverty where his single mother housed him and his five brothers in Grigny, France. Alphonse, being the second-oldest middle child, was often tasked to be the "second in command" underneath his eldest brother in the household when his mother would leave for work, which grew within him an innate resentment toward taking up authoritarive roles. Predictably so— he suffered from the usual burdens of middle child syndrome, but the accidental neglect allowed him the freedom to fly under his family's radar while also pursuing interests that needed not be witnessed by judging eyes. In fact, being in the closet, and secretly reading fashion magazines in his actual closet, culminated a lot of pent up self expression inside the young French boy, and he dreamed to be a model one day.
  
  Eventually, his secret obsession with fashion and fortune paid off when he was scouted on the street in his senior year of highschool for his "angelic good looks", and he became well known as "the boy who went from rags to riches" pretty much overnight. It was a wish came true for Alphonse; however, his dream would turn awry once he grew to discover the grim realities of being a model in a cutthroat industry. Namely, he had been pushed to a point where he had stepped over close friends for opportunities, acted a fool for approval, and disrespected his body for higher ups in order to gain more fortune.
  
  His family had never told him to do so, but Alphonse was easily influenced, and found himself drowning in what seemed to be the consequences of his own desires. Slowly but surely becoming entirely fed up with the French modelling scene— Alphonse had him and his family move to America after terminating his contract with his old employer at the age of 20. Now, setting foot in the "land of freedom" and easily buying a plot of land for him and his family— he swore to himself to take it easy for the rest of his life, and to focus on fulfilling himself rather than topping the charts. Truly, he would live life for himself (and his family) and nothing else would get in his way. Beside that, His most recent gigs were a handful of major roles in shows and movies, and even a few commercials here and there; however, one fateful day, he had shown up to an audition, only to find himself standing in front of two mysterious men in suits and ties. Little did he know, after that day, he'd never see his family again.

  Trixie Shin was born in Vancouver, Canada, on December 5th, 1978, to South Korean parents. She had a pleasant upbringing during her early years, living with a happy family and consistently achieving high grades since elementary school. However, everything changed when her father was mysteriously killed by a Jamaican gangster when she was just 15 years old. This marked the beginning of her descent into darkness.
  
  At the age of 16, she began engaging in petty crimes such as stealing bikes and vandalizing properties, all while taking up smoking. These actions not only put her at risk of expulsion from high school but also strained her relationship with her mother, pushing it to the brink of permanent estrangement. Trixie's involvement in these minor criminal activities drew the attention of an all-female street gang known as the Rogue Roses. She eventually accepted their offer to join, gradually rising through the ranks and gaining popularity within the group.
  
  When she turned 17, Trixie committed her first murder. Her victim was a 12-year-old Somali girl walking home alone from school, a tragic event that would mark the beginning of a long and violent history. At the age of 18, to evade police detection, Trixie sought out a South Korean plastic surgeon involved in the black market and underwent a facial transformation to make it harder for law enforcement to identify her.
  
  By the time she reached 20, Trixie replaced her cigarette addiction with marijuana in an attempt to cope with her increasingly violent lifestyle. At 21, the leader of the Rogue Roses initially contemplated expelling Trixie, considering her to be growing less useful. However, instead of expulsion, she was demoted, a decision that fueled her anger, though she kept her frustration concealed without complaint.
  
  Trixie's life took a new turn when the police managed to locate her through a VPD informant who had infiltrated the gang. As she attempted to flee from the approaching police, she encountered two mysterious men in suits and ties. Without uttering a word, one of them sprayed a substance near her face, rendering her unconscious. It was at this point that Trixie's story truly began...
