Welcome to the Jungle [Dreams of the Third Age]

10 hours later, the skiff makes its way to Rathess with little to no difficulty. There is much tension brewing in the air, but nothing of dire consequences have come forth yet. Only time would tell if he would face any difficulties.

"The gate should be in the Eastern Pyramid. Shall we set ourselves down there?" Xentair inquired. He brought up his shield and manifested Requiem just in case things took a turn for the worse. Knowing his luck, he would need it.

Syrenica chuckles softly, "Worry not friend, I won't me wrapping my coils around you. But yes, this stale set up of Creation only got slightly better with the Silver Prince and I seek to see how much further this change will go. Regardless," she shakes her head gently, "I have not traveled the East in a long time, and my last visit was in the River Provinces. Had I know the jungles here were just as lovely I would have come sooner. Still I only know what I have heard from the various settlements in the region."
Her eyes twinkle a moment with her happiness, "It is said that she is quite the little monster, that she holds the secrets of the Era before in her home, and her little army of non-humans are quite capable and strong. As much of what I heard of her, it is the Solar that makes my skin cold. So I came, at your invitation, to upset the status quo in this region. With a great interest in making the Mad Solar and his creepy cult very much gone, and perhaps enjoying some rich rewards from either Rathess or Sperimin."
Viktor nods in agreement with her. "Yes... your information is accurate, so far as it goes. As it happens, I have met Raksi, back when we were working for the Yozis. I was part of a diplomatic mission sent by Ligier. The mission itself was a total failure, as most such enterprises handled by Fiends were, but it was well worth the trip regardless. Raksi is... fascinating. Unnerving, even to someone used to Hell, but fascinating nonetheless. As you said, she plays the part of the savage quite well, but I'm certain it's eight-tenths an act. Less so with her mutant descendants, of course, but the Queen herself is a shrewd one. Though I was not prepared to... debase myself to the level she asked, I would have given much to have stayed and explored her library. The Book of Three Circles alone... He trails off, lost in thought for a moment.

"I learned of Filial Wisdom at the same time. He was to have been our next stop, but we never got close to Rathess. From what little I saw, he is at least as bad as the Deathlords; the only difference is that he wishes to feed Creation into the maw of his worm-god master instead of Oblivion's. Elder though he may be, he is in dire need of the cleansing flame."

Renna nods, directing the cloud to the pyramid. As they fly, she takes a few moments to prepare for a fight on the way to the gate by activating her Form Charm, boosts her defenses and readies her weapons. She will not be caught off guard.

Alexandra nods to Azure Crane, acknowledging and granting his request. She is comforted by his presence, with him here the mission will succeed. She turns and smiles at the count "Excellent, but I thought impaling was more your style but I digress. Count, you shall work with Azure Crane on this mission, the auspices herald a few surprises even for a man of your talent."

Kaji-Oni: Alexandra noticed the presence of many supernatural beings around Rathess. She could see two celestial exalts traveling together toward the eastern part of the city with her powers enabling to see persons of interest. Rathess is gigantic, 12 miles radius.

Seeker of the End: The Eastern pyramid is 200 yards tall but surrounded by goblins and reptilians humanoid, some smaller and a few of them significantly taller, like a couple of them being twelve feet tall and wearing all kinds of armor.

"The Gate should be underground," Xentair remarked as he looked around, "Looks like

we have to get ready for a fight now. Let's focus on getting in first though. Renna, can you create a distraction?"

Some of my charms don't function if I initiate combat. So I have to wait to make the first move.

She smiles. "Yes, I can come up with something. A distracting dance to catch the attentions of the hobgoblins. For the best effect, I'll need to set down in the middle of them. You two can jump down a short distance away while I fly up."

"We'll do that then. Let me know if you need backup." Xentair frowned, having Renna put herself in harms way for his benefit left a sick feeling in his stomach. But in the end it was her choice so he had no right to interfere with it. "Be careful, alright?" as he and Isli stepped off of the cloud a safe distance away.

Renna's heart leaps up in joy at the words of caution from Xentair. Giving them a little wave goodbye, she directs the cloud to swoop up and race towards the center of the crowd on the grounds outside the pyramid. Leaping off, she tumbles and lands on her feet, dropping down to one knee. In a flash of moonsilver, she pulls out two of her fans and begins to dance. The effects of her sensual movements are mesmerizing, and soon there is a large crowd of monsters standing around her, staring at the Lunar as she dances.

17d10 → [3,10,8,1,4,5,9,4,10,8,3,4,9,3,4,2,7] - 9 successes vs the MDV of the observers. Anyone with a lower MDV is helplessly enthralled by the performance. This does not count any dice for stunting.

The hordes of goblins and hobgoblins are surrounding Renna. The reptilian joins them in looking at the performance, for now, it doesn't appear like they will assault her.

While the rest of the horde are staring at his mate, Xentair quickly locates and enters into the temple, Isli dematerialized and following behind him.

Do I have to make any rolls?

Xentair walks inside of the pyramid and would mostly that the place is in ruins. Inside it would look like what used to be a great place of worship. There are many vines and plants running through the floor and walls of the temple. The walls used to depict great images but with dust and lack of maintenance don't quite look as good as they used to be. A humanoid with dragon claws and tusks sprouting from his mouth turn around when he hears you enter, holding a tibia in one hand and the head of goblin in another. Fresh blood can be seen on his clothes. As he hold the head of the goblin in the palm of his hands. The Goblin head opens his mouth and starts talking with a grin on his face.

"A spirit and two exalts. I don't think that I ever ate any of your kind before, you smell different. Are you one of those fools who come to use my gate? They never learn."

No special rolls.

Xentair nodded in deference, but not respect. He would obey nobody, but he would show the proper protocols for being in another's domain.

"I am my own Champion. I do not follow the Yozis, the Unconquered Sun, nor the Ardent Maiden. I am my own master, and my Exaltation gives me the power to create my own destiny with my own Hand. I am Xentair, the Final Verdict, and I am a Devil-Tiger."

His castemark bursts as the twin scales burn with a black and white flame. A pair of spectral wings sprout from his back as well, one is onyx and bat-like while the other is white and feathered, like that of a bird's. However, a shroud of azure flame burns around him a a halo of black and white manifests behind his head. "Who are you?"

Spending 2 motes on Glimpses Beyond the Veil to get a read on him, if I succeed I get a basic read on his personality as well as figure out the presence of a disguise. Spending 2m on Second Xentair Excellency to get two sux via So Speaks Xentair. 10 dice= 9 sux +2 excellency sux= 11 sux. I will spend my stunt reward for Mythos Exultant to figure out his essence score.

Twisting and turning, Renna can hear the sounds of her companions having entered the pyramid. Time to go. The dance will hold them long enough to get away. With a flourish, she spins in place and takes on the form of a wasp, taking off and zooming into the entrance after Xentair.

Xentair can tell that the goblin is indeed dead , the being holding the goblin appears to just be obsessed with devouring the dead. The goblin is dead and yields no essence result but the humanoid figure holding the undead appears to be of low essence, barely enough to be classified as supernatural.

Renna would come in and see the strange scene of her mate talking with what appear to be a crazy wyld mutant holding a goblin's head.

"A devil tiger? Never heard about it. You can always come find me in the underways, if you want to find out more about me. I will be pleased to introduce you to my domain. We have a couple of my colleagues headed this way, I might come and feed on your corpse, when this is over."

As the goblin head didn't appear to be animated anymore. The humanoid with the dark robe holding the goblin's head, resumed gnawing on it.

going to wait for the others to catch up a bit and see where they are headed before posting more.

"As you command my lady..." The Count noticed the two signals that displayed in Alexandra's reading. He proceeded towards the open deck, where he would be able to jump off and begin his hunt. "Stay close Crow, you know how carried away I can get on occasions" He grinned maliciously, eager to satiate his bloodlust.

I assume we're close enough to fly on my own and begin my search, but if not I'll edit my post accordingly. Also, how far are we from the city center and the main pyramid?

"Thank you for your offer of hospitality, but I am afraid I must decline. My companions simply wish to use your gate to Yu-Shan. Nothing more nor less. If you will let us, we will leave and not impede upon your domain again." Xentair said politely.

The wasp that is Renna comes buzzing into the room, just one of many bugs in this tropical jungle of a city. After circling about to get a feel for the room and those that are in it, she settles down on a wall to listen, her thin wings twitching in the shadows.

After a moment of silence, Viktor continues. "At any rate, I intend to make my way into the jungle, towards Speremin, as soon as my troops are ready to move. We should be within a short march of the city by nightfall; if we have not encountered any of Raksi's scouts before then, I plan to summon an agata to carry a message to her, offering alliance against the Goblin King. Will you do me the honor of accompanying me, dear Syrenica?"

@ the ship

Moor stayed silent and motionless during whole conversation, but after departure of Count and Crow. He steps in to brighter light makes courtly bow directed at Alexandra and begins:

"Fair Lady, I have no taste in violence so I took liberty of not volunteering to your kill team. Still being impressed by your demeanor and myself being bit of people person. I offer my services in diplomatic team, hoping to better my meager skills by witnessing your masterful work and to be able to ease your burden."

He says his words with straight face only at the end makes faint friendly smile.

Moor arrived there with Shiuko

"Thank you Moor. Your services will be invaluable. We must gather as many allies as possible to oppose Hecate. The end of an Era is coming, and creation might be destroyed if we do not succeed. " Alexandra stops nearly in mid sentence, her eyes glowing green. "Yes we have two other celestial exalts inbound." She places her hand on her Captain's control panel and begins entering an intercept course to meet up with the two exalts. She sits back comfortably in her captains chair, smiling at the flattery that the Moor offered, focusing her senses on a few nearby parrots. She focuses her will and commands them to relay a message "The forces of Heaven are here to aid you in your task. Meet up with us at the spring one mile on your present course."

Using Adopting the Untamed face to control the local wild life to relay the message. Fuck yeah sidereal survival!

It speaks volumes about the personal power and familiarity with great things that the assembled Exalts can pay so little heed to the fifth member of their company. Suhiko, formerly of House V'Neef would project majesty and power even without the golden crown on her brow. Her back is straight, her pose at once natural and commanding, her eyes piercing emerald and her face captivating in its beauty. She was born to nobility, raised to rule and command, traits that have only increased with Exaltation and experience. At this moment she is, however, lost in thoughts that have little to do with giving orders to anyone, much less her present peers. She is looking out across the magnificent vista of Rathess and sees everything both for the first and the thousandth time. In every building is a new wonder, a memory of its construction, glory and decay. She can feel the ancient queen who still lives on in her Exaltation stirring at the return to the city of her birth and rule.

At the Count's bloodthirsty words, her gaze turns to him and the reminiscence of her soul turns quiet. She cannot help feel melancholy when she regards him, he is a creature who will be eminently useful in bringing peace and prosperity to Creation, and who will be just as eminently unsuitable at living in Creation once goodness has been restored to it. The question is merely if she will have to kill him herself, or he will die facing their common enemies. She is unable to keep the ghost of a smile from crossing her lips as the words of the Harmonious Triptych Accords: The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more. No less.

"I will accompany you, Count, I would see what this Filial Wisdom has done with the birthplace of human civilization."

Syrenica smiled and gave a slightly nod, "Why yes. I would be quite honored to accompany you." She gives him a graceful bow and her coils uncoil as she giggles a little, "I wonder how much fun this will be, and I do hope the Goblin King is a good sport. Playmates on the battlefield are no fun when they are all angry about surprise alliances." She nods to Viktor and looks to the men and women through the opening in the tent. Maybe not too much fun, she did like Viktor after all, and he had an idea about what he would do here.

It was much to the surprise of Xentair that a random parrot flew into the pyramid, perching on his shoulder. It was even more surprising twine the parrot opened its beak.

"The forces of heaven are here to aid you in your task. Meet us at the spring one mile from your current course." it spoke in a woman's voice. And shortly afterwards it flew off and left.

"We'll then. It looks like we are needed somewhere else." Xentair remarked, "If you would excuse me. Renna, could you take us there quickly?" He asked aloud, knowing that she would probably be there somewhere.

Renna is puzzled, but lets it go. Shifting back into her human form, she steps out from the shadows. "Are you certain that this is not some elaborate trap? Do you know who sent that message?"
