Elias Stein
The sun sprayed strands of Elias's hair seemed diluted more than normal, as if the life had been drained from every aspect of his being. Those eyes were another story, deeper in color and holding a more animalistic tone, the gaze of a starved predator. He was watching everyone, everything, honed in on the tiniest details that most would miss. He was searching. Always searching. For weeks, he hadn’t slept and it showed on his features. He’d become more of a lone wolf, his black blood demon having surfaced during that time. A time that seemed to drag on and on, the days melting into one long never ending day. As Ikora pulled them out into the courtyard, getting ready to speak about the situation they’d been faced with, Elias gave her his full undivided attention. When the wavelength below erupted like an explosion, he felt a slight pull, but like oil to water it didn’t mix. When the screams began, he continued to stare straight ahead at the woman, listening intently to her words. Ever since he’d let his black blood demon off its leash, unable to contain the beast within due to the explosive bouts of anger and despair he’d been wracked with at hearing his twin sister was missing, the demon itself had kept him in check. Elias became hyper focused on the hunt. He had little care for anyone outside of his ‘pack’ of people who imprinted on him and a growing chagrin for the lack of answers all the teacher’s had.
Once she signaled them to get moving, he carefully aligned himself next to Gwen and Hitomi, refusing to make eye contact with either of them as he addressed them. “ I’ve got my shit under control but if you use your wavelengths on me, I won’t anymore. That’s not a threat, it’s a certainty. So try to stay the hell away from me. “ He said dryly, knowing the lack of emotion behind his words no longer startled anyone. They’d all watched him decline over the last couple weeks, a steady but sure process. He’d become obsessed with trying to find his sister, even spending days at a time in her lab trying to figure out what the hell could have happened to her, or why. Zero results had come to fruition which only irritated him more. He walked past Rin, only giving her a small look of acknowledgement, never wanting to gaze at her for too long lest she see the cracks in his sanity starting to show. Could she see the wolf staring back at her? He didn’t know and he didn’t want to frighten her if she became unable to recognize the person who was supposed to make her feel safe.
“ I don’t have time for this shit. “ He exclaimed towards Marcus before he moved towards the top of the stairs, hands still shoved into his pockets. An explosion sent him flying off from the courtyard of the DWMA, hair rippling about wildly as his hands slowly appeared from where they’d been nestled. He landed in one of the alleyways below, another burst being heard to make his airborne to ground transition flawless. His palms were scuffed but he dusted them off slowly, removing the debris that had freckled his skin like confetti. A hand rose to allow his fingers to comb through his hair, hues darting to the side as he felt motion behind him. A group of thugs were already on the prowl, tormenting someone in the narrow passage he’d found himself in. This only pleased him because he knew they’d have nowhere to run off to. A fist met the face of one of them, sending them flying into a nearby wall before he turned and grabbed the back of another’s head, slamming it down into the ground with a very surprisingly tactful amount of pressure to cause them to fall unconscious. The other in the trio was disposed of just as quickly, without being fatal, before Elias continued moving throughout the city, using his abilities to keep him speeding through the snaking and twisting paths of Death City. A big but isolated blast could be seen every now and then from different areas, unconscious bodies being discarded carelessly behind him, the only remnants that signaled he'd been there.
He stopped at one of the cross roads, feeling a much more potent wavelength that sent his instincts for danger on high alert. Slowly those crimson eyes rose, landing on the twisted face of a kishin prowling in the lower parts of the town. Its tongue was serrated, flailing about like an active whip as its head began to rotate clockwise to complete a full circle before it went still. He took a big whiff of the air around them and his gaze hardened, jaw locking. “ Another dead end, you don’t smell like who took her. “ He spoke through grit teeth, canines flashing as he lunged forward and grabbed onto the monster’s head, those knuckles immediately paling from the strength behind his grasp. “ Useless. Fucking useless. “ He continued, staring deep into the eyes of the being who had gone astray as he tightened his grip on their face that he could feel trying to rotate or wriggle out of his grasp. But it was riddled deep with a madness that it could never be saved from, even as it seemed almost human with its visible panicking when the kishin felt the threat that Elias really posed. That was the natural desire to stay alive, regardless of what it had become. It was a moments breath away from death and it knew it, one could see it in its eyes. “ Consider this a mercy. “ The head exploded suddenly, the body combusting too, which caused bits and pieces of its flesh to scatter about the immediate area around Elias along with the Stein himself. His skin was splattered with its warm blood, those eyes swirling about as they matched the color of the liquid dripping down his face. A small smile spread but it was ghastly, fleeting in essence, and was only there for a second before it disappeared entirely. He reached out, his hold more gentle this time as he devoured the soul in front of him, licking his lips casually. That marked 99 souls.
