Rais, who had just recently passed the time by tormenting an outlying farm with death, fire, and destruction, lie content at the corner table of an inn. His feet propped atop the wooden table, a loaf of bread lie untouched beside him on a wooden platter. His arms were crossed behind his head, and chair was standing on the two hind legs as he leaned back in a form of utter content. If one managed to get close enough, a faint sound of snoring could be heard from the figure of the camouflaged demon.
*Earlier at the farm*
The farm he had intruded upon had been nothing more than ordinary, livestock and food harvestable and ready to procure for the market stalls. Yet, there was a serenity about the place that Rais had not liked in particular, like the residents were living a happy life. The demon rose a hand to knock upon the front door, family most likely just beginning their morning meal, their last morning meal. With a simple knock on the door, he rose his hood to cover his facial features and drew his wakizashi from over his shoulder, the drawn blade behind his back. Yes, the blade to partner a katana, but he didn't believe these residents were skilled enough in combat to counter. In fact, fighting them with his fists would most likely still be an easy matter.
The door opened, and a male looking in his early-twenties greeted Rais with a smile. "Well hello there stranger, what brings you out this far away and onto my farm?" His question was harmless, pure curiosity. The response he received more than escalated the situation. Rais's lips grew into a devilish smirk, and he tilted his head upwards to reveal a single red eye to the farmer. Before any form of retaliation could have occured, the blade behind Rais's back whipped out and struck into the soft tissue of the farmer's neck; the attack swift and clean, frames ahead of what the farmer's eyes could comprehend. Rais slowly and suspensefully pulled the blade from the flesh, a lining of blood covering the steel and dripping down the farmer's open wound and mouth. The corpse went limp on the floor in front of Rais, and his assumed wife and son sat at the table with a horrified look on their face.
Rais let out a happy sigh, cowl shifting slightly to now reveal his green eye to the two. As soon as they caught sight of it, Rais had already managed to dash behind the mother and raise her from her seat. His unarmed hand had grasped around her neck and raised her feet off the wooden plank floor, the blade in his other hand angled to pierce her heart through the gap between her ribs. Rais licked his lips hungrily, cowl slipping off his head as he looked up at her face. The female looked to have not even hit her twenties, extremely young, especially to have had a child. "Quite beautiful you are, if I may say so." His teasing expression countered with a terrified look from her. "If I were sane, I might have left you to live and leave yet another rose for the world to admire her beauty.." As he drifted to silence, he lowered her so that he could whisper audible enough for her and not for the child who had scurried to the corner of the room. "But as a messenger of chaos from the depths of hell, I must let the feelings of revenge foster a home in the heart of your child." Fangs sprouted from Rais's teeth, his conscience signaling him that the boy wanted revenge even through his fear, giving Rais the satisfaction of a successful invasion. As a finale, Rais brought the body of the female higher, granting him the opportunity to scratch her skin with his fangs. He almost laughed as her body tensed and squirmed in fear, yet he suppressed it for the show of horror. Finally ending the teasing, Rais slowly bit into the soft flesh that was the girl's neck with just his fangs, trickle of blood trailing down to her collarbone. As he did so, the blade in his hands slipped between her rips and pierced her heart; her life ended mere seconds after he had a taste of her blood. The color in her eyes faded and her body went limp like her lover's, falling on the floor as Rais had a proper taste of the metallic liquid.
Acting vampiric was not necessary in his line of chaos, yet it always gave him some sort of pleasure teasing his prey. The blood and vampire act always gave it dramatic effect, and hid his actual demonic presence by having the non-intellectuals assume he was of vampire descent. Rais finished the act by glaring at the boy, then knocking over a candle as he made an escape out the front door. The candle dropped onto the wooden floor, and quickly spread across the house. Rais made sure the boy escaped, observing from a distance. The boy alive was his goal for this particular day, as it left another individual in this continent with feelings of resent and revenge.
