"..And what was it?" Kana continued to push, her curiosity gnawing at her instincts.

 

[Diran the Thief]

Lucifer closed his eyes and paused. "... I ran away from my kingdom... I hit a princess from a different kingdom... and murdered my best friend."

Kana took in a shaky breath, taking in the news. She tried to relax the tension in her muscles, before opening her mouth to speak.


"I won't ask why, since I'm someone you just met, but I'm sure the situation was dire. It must've been hard to live with that guilt." She said softly.

 

[Diran the Thief]

"Yeah. But... it wasn't... yeah I still feel wish I never met his father." He said looking down.

 

[Birdmd]

"His father?" Kana questioned, tilting her head slightly.

 

[Diran the Thief]

"My friend's father. He was a dark Mage." Lucifer said.

 

[Birdmd]

"A.. Dark Mage..?" Kana's breath caught in her throat, as she bit her lip. She didn't have many good encounters with dark mages, and refused to bring the memories back up. Her hands shook, and Kana put them behind her back. "..I see."

 

[Diran the Thief]

Lucifer sighed. "Anyway you heard my story. Is there anything else?" He asked.

 

[Birdmd]

"Well, this seems bizarre considering I just met you, but.." Kana straightened her spine. "I'd like to help you clear your name. In any way I can."

 

[Diran the Thief]

Lucifer raised an eyebrow. "You wanna help me?" Lucifer asked.

 

[Birdmd]

Kana nodded. "Mhm. I do."

 

[Diran the Thief]

Lucifer looked down to think. "Well... at this point I'll accept anybody's help." Lucifer said.

 

[Birdmd]

Kana felt a genuine smile grow on her face. "Okay. But before we start, let's get properly acquainted. I'm Kana. Kana Suzuki." She held out her hand.

 

[Diran the Thief]

"By now I'm sure you know who I am." Lucifer said. He shook her hand.

 

[Birdmd]

"It doesn't hurt for a little hand shake." Kana grinned. "So where were you going before those guards started chasing you?"

 

[Diran the Thief]

"Well it's something I always do. I check the cities for anything regarding about my bounty. If it's bad I do what I must to make sure it doesn't show up again. If it's good then I'll leave it." He explained.

 

[Birdmd]

"So where were you planning to go next? If we wanted to clear your name, shouldn't we be looking for some sort of job? I could take it for you at a center, since you're wanted, and we could both complete it. We could do this for several jobs, but they might be difficult."

 

[Birdmd]

"And it might take awhile to reach the king.."

 

[Diran the Thief]

"I tried that. I even saved an entire village but it wasn't enough to clear my name. I could save the world for god's sake and I still would be wanted dead." He said.

 

[Birdmd]

"You're kidding.." Kana muttered.

 

[Diran the Thief]

Shook his head. "No. They just can't forgive me." He said looking down.

 

[Birdmd]

"There's gotta be something you haven't tried yet.." She murmured, leaning against a tree and crossing her arms.

 

[Diran the Thief]

"I'm sure there's some things I haven't done yet." Lucifer answered.

 

[Birdmd]

"But the question is, what are they." Kana tapped her foot, stumped. She stopped, looking around.


"..Did you hear something?"

 

[Diran the Thief]

"Just the sound of you talking is all I hear." He said bluntly.
