In my opinion, have them at least reset to zero when they die. That way, they don't come across as too OP. I mean, closest example I can probably give is Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. When he died, he literally was reborn into a youngling again and has to pick up everything from scratch.
This can also add a bit of color in their culture. Old Foln who managed to survive to extremely old age are revered greatly, making it hard for younger Foln to like, prove their own worth as they will always be held up to the standard set by the older Foln. This could lead to a divide within the Foln society as the older Foln are hellbent on preserving their original culture in isolation while the younger Foln would want to open up to the modernizing world.
