Hassim Alsani
in the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself
Despite being in Anchor Bay for two months, Hassim's apartment was still littered with boxes. He couldn't bring himself to pull out his things to decorate his apartment. And he knew it was because he was missing home, specifically is mother and sister. He had called them earlier and that only magnified his homesickness. It made him question why he moved here in the first place, there was nothing wrong living with his mother and sister. They were all doing fine in Boston ever since they moved there 6 years ago, why'd he leave? Maybe it was because he finally had time to live for himself, he was always looking over the women in his life for as long as he could remember. Now that they were all safe, he'd figured it was time to find his own way. Didn't mean he had to like it.
Getting the job as the lifeguard was a way to incorporate himself more into the life at Anchor Bay, but he really found himself finishing his shifts and retreating to his apartment, the gym, or some path to run with his dog Mack. When people seemed to notice him amongst the population, they dragged him along. That's exactly what happened with Carson. The barista had an interest in the lifeguard and had invited him to join her and her friends to the party on the waterfront. Hassim knew that the invite was just a way for him and Carson to get closer, because Hassim noticed her heavy flirting. He just decided to brush it off and play dumb, he didn't know how to navigate flirting and romantic feelings. And he felt like he didn't have the time for it.
The chime of his phone pulls him out of his thoughts as he sees that Carson's questioning where her people where. He partakes in the small interaction before he finishes getting ready. There was no way he was going to get out of this. This should be a good thing for him, but he felt like he was intruding or that he wasn't wanted. His phone chimes again with a message from Artemis, who Hassim had gathered was a friend of Carson. The greeting somewhat reassures Hassim and he makes his move to the front door. Alright, I'll see you later girl. He parts from Mack with a pet and a kiss to the top of the head.
Since his companion is not traveling with him, Hassim takes his bike. It'd be easier to find parking and he hadn't ridden it in a while, basically since he came to the seaside town. The rumble of the engine vibrates through and seems to synchronize with his heartbeat. It calmed him and prepared him for the rest of the day.
The drive isn't long as he had appropriately picked an apartment not far from the beach. It doesn't take him too long to find a parking spot and he is able to pull up next to a car that still seemed to be occupied. He quiets his motorcycle and pulls off the black helmet that protected his head, placing it into a small compartment adorning the ride.. He glances into the car beside him and makes eye contact with the curly haired boy in it. He recognized him as the Artemis that he spoke to earlier and who Hassim had Insta-stalked alongside Carson's other friend Astraea. Hassim softly smiles and waves at his new acquaintance before a noise pulls his head in another direction. He sees Carson and Astraea approach the vehicle and his smile widens as he internally hoped that the day was going to turn out alright. Glad to see that I'm not too late.
