"Alright, good" Regan said with a small laugh. She finished her coke then got up to throw it away. Regan then remembered that she had Zori's sweater. "Oh, here's you sweater" she said, taking it off from around her waist then handing it back to him.

Zori shook his head but took the sweater anyway with a small frown. "But... The mud..." He mumbled, looking at it before looking up at her with a pout.

"How about I take it home, wash it, then give it back to you next time we see each other?" I ask, taking the sweater back with a slight sheepish smile. "It'll be nice and clean for you then."

''Syo?'' A voice called from upstairs, followed by the sounds of footsteps on the stairs. A tired-looking figure appeared in the doorway, looking like they'd just woken up. Somehow, just from looking at them, you could tell they were somehow related to Syo - pretty much everything from the skinny figure to the facial features. The difference was that one didn't have silver hair.


''Hi, dad.'' Syo cracked open her can.


''Who are these guys..?'' He rubbed his eyes, yawning sleepily. ''And why the hell did you bring them over so early in the morning?'' He didn't really sound mad, though. ''Dad..It's, like, one in the afternoon.. I wouldn't call it early. Also..'' She turned to look at Zori and Regan. ''These are just some friends of mine.''

"I would like that, yes." Zori said with a small smile before looking up when the man appeared. He stood up quickly, sending the man a smile and held his hand out. "Hello there sir. My name's Zori. It's nice to meet you." He said with a small, nervous smile.

''Aye, nice to meet you too. Just call me Noah.'' He shook his hand, still sounding sleepy, but not irritated like he initially did.

Regan stood up then turned around. "I'm Regan" she said with a smile, introducing herself to Syo's dad also.

Zori nodded, shaking his hand before taking a step back so Regan could introduce herself.

He repeated his greeting with Regan, also shaking her hand. ''Nice to see Syo's actually bringing some friends over for once.''


''You make me sound like some kind of loner..'' Syo groaned.

Zori brought a hand up to his mouth, trying to stifle his laughter. Were him and Regan one of the first people Syo had ever brought home? That made him a bit happy and he found it adorable.

Syo, noticing this, elbows him lightly. ''I'll have you know I've had loads of friends over before!'' She said indignantly, although it was blatantly obvious she was lying. ''So..You guys got any plans for what you're having for dinner? I was gonna make pizza-'' Syo made a 'NO' signal to Regan and Zori, shaking her head frantically. She'd been there the last time her dad had made 'pizza', and she was convinced he'd actually somehow created a alien lifeform.

"Awwe we're your first?" Regan cooed, slightly teasing Syo. "It's okay Syo. We know you're not a loner."

Zori grinned at Syo before looking at her dad.


He smiled, nodding his head. "Yeah surrrrreeeeee- ehhhh...." He broke off, taking notice of Syo's adamant head shaking. "- um, No? I think this is a no here."

 

[SpookySneeze]

''Y-yeah! We were actually going to get, uh..'' She paused. ''..I dunno, a mcdonalds or something.'' Noah nodded slowly.


''Okay..But keep in mind I'm gonna save a few slices, and you're gonna have to have them for tea tommorow, Syo.''


''..I can't win..'' Syo whispered to herself, looking almost like she was going to cry.

Regan held in a small laugh as they tried to get free from eating the pizza. "It's okay" Regan mouthed to Syo with a smile.

 

[SpookySneeze]

''It's not, it's really not..'' She mouthed back. She swore her dad did this on purpose sometimes.


''And make sure you don't stay out dead late, okay? You heard about that kid who got arrested, yeah? I don't want my kid wandering around at night when there's those people around.''

Zori's smile faltered a bit at the mention of Butch before turning into a frown.


"With all due respect, I must disagree with you." Zori mumbled to Syo's father. "He may have gotten into the wrong things but he was an okay guy. He wasn't that bad." Zori sighed, glancing at Regan before glancing at Syo. "I'm... I'm going to take my leave now. It was nice to meet you Sir." Zori said, nodding his head and grabbing his sweater from the couch before exiting the house.

Regan's eyes widened a bit when he mentioned Butch. Regan knew who he was talking about though he didn't say his name. She glanced over at Zori and Syo quickly then watched Zori leave. She looked back at Syo's dad then gave him a small, awkward smile. "I think I'm...gonna go follow him" she said quietly, rubbing her arm before she picked up her dirty clothes. "Nice meeting you." She looked at Syo before she followed Zori out of the house.

Syo had remained silent too, knowing who her dad had meant. ''Oh, uh- Okay.'' She mumbled as she watched the other two leave, before turning back to her dad, who stood there looking kinda awkward. ''..I get the impression I did something wrong.'' Syo shook her head.


''It's fine. It's just, I think Zori, like.. Knew the guy you were talking about.''


''..Oh. Well this is awkward.''

Zori took a deep breath as he made his way outside. He sighed, glancing back at Regan when she came out.


"Sorry about that..." He mumbled, looking at the ground. "I didn't mean to just... run off like that. Hearing about Butch just upsets me you know? I may not have known him but he seemed like someone I could have been friends with."

Once Syo's dad headed back upstairs, Syo went outside to see if Regan and Zori were still there. ''Sorry 'bout my dad..'' She said apologetically. ''Hearin' about what happened to Butch upsets me too. I dunno if it's because I didn't expect him to do that, or what..''

Zori looked up and sent her an apologetic smile. "It's okay. I should be the one apologizing. I shouldn't have just left the way I did..."

"It's okay" Regan said softly, rubbing his arm gently to comfort him in someway. "I know what you mean. It upsets me too." Regan thought about the letter Butch gave her after he got arrested then sighed. She turned around to Syo. "Oh, it's okay. Don't worry about it."

Zori sent Regan a thankful smile, pulling her into his embrace. A few seconds later he pulled Syo into his embrace as well.


"You two are honestly awesome girls..." He mumbled before letting them go.


A smile now lit his face up. "How about we go get something to eat now yeah? Or go out somewhere?"


With that he would gesture to the car. Before Regan would be able to move away fully he'd pull her back once again and would place a small kiss on her forehead, taking her chin in his hand and looking into her eyes with a smile. "Really Reggie, thanks. I needed that." He mumbled softly, before ruffling her hair and walking to the car after he let go of her.

''Group hug? Awesome!'' She grinned, and then nodded at Zori's question. ''We could go to eat now, yeah.'' She headed towards the car, not seeing Zori kiss Regan (which is good for them because she'd spend the whole journey going ''I told you so! I was right! Heheh'')
