HIEARCHY OF GODS

The Nameless Superior
one above all.jpg
The absolute supreme being of any and all universes. This deity is rarely seen or interacted with. All other gods and deities fall under this entity and his power dwarfs any under him. It said that the Nameless Superior spoke everything into existence with a single word.

The High Celestials
celestials.jpg

A group of lesser deities that take up court in the star regions and the clouded heavens. Most of them are patron gods of virtuous endeavors such as wisdom, patience and loyalty.

The Compendium Of Chaos
compendium of chaos.jpg
A group of lesser gods who act as antithesis to the High Celestials. They are responsible for the uncertain and acts of destruction and dis order throughout the cosmos.

The Elemental Spirits
elementals.jpg
Four lesser deities and siblings who govern the essence of water, fire, earth and wind. Two, Water and Wind...commune with the High Celestials and are known as patient, generous and benign gods. However the other two, Fire and Earth...have a kinship with the Compendium of Chaos and are known to be brash, hot tempered and impulsive deities.

The Jaded Oracles
jaded oracles.jpg

The watchers, time keepers and guardians of past, present and future knowledge. They are forbidden by The Nameless Superior from directly interfering with mortal affairs.

The Nine Realms Of The Abyss
realms of the abyss.jpg

The Underworld split into nine sections, each section lorded over by a set of demonic brothers who are constantly at civil war with each other.

THE NINE LORDS OF THE ABYSS
The Nine Abyssal Lords are a set of nine demonic brothers who are the children of Karderacsh, an evil elder of the Compendium Of Chaos and his union with one Tetraterra, a wise founding mother of the High Celestials. They are ranked from youngest to eldest...

Lord Of The First Realm
610836473_preview_NEW_loadingscreen.png

SCARR-TALOS
Youngest of the Abyssal Lords and least powerful of the demon brothers. He is impetuous and while his allegiance is to the evil side of cosmic order, he is not completely devoid of compassion. His realm is the least severe in punishment for the souls sent to damnation.

Lord Of the Second Realm
189564.jpg

HYBOR-URU
Next in line of the Abyssal Lords. Hybor-Uru is the most martial and militant of his brothers. He is arguably the best warrior amongst the Abyssal Lords. He too is not devoid of compassion and has even known to release a few wary souls, provided they prove their worthiness in combat. If they can best him in battle, he will give them a second chance at life on the mortal plane.

Lord Of the Third Realm

ZERASTER
One side of a set of twins born to Karderacsh and Tetraterra. Zeraster and his twin brother Zatrocittus can be seen as a pair of lethal tricksters who are more interested in engaging in diabolical games with the souls of their charges. They are poor sports and hate to lose.

Lord Of The Fourth Realm
Demon_Lord_the-necromancer-gradient_1920x1080.jpg
ZATTROCITUS
Twin brother to Zeraster, Zattrocitus much like his brother can be seen as a psychotic prankster only interested in torturing the poor souls sent to his realm with lethal and diabolical games for his amusement. A few clever souls have managed to escape the Abyss by beating him at his own games, but again, much like Zeraster, this Abyssal Lord hates to lose.

Lord Of The Fifth Realm
demon_warrior_by_fmikeart-d5378qe.jpg

TETH-ARR
This Abyssal Lord can be seen to be the most neglectful of the nine brothers. He is quite resentful about essentially being one of the guardians of Hell and finds it quite demeaning. Most of his time is spent seeking a reprieve amongst both the Compendium Of Chaos and the High Celestials, genuinely looking to upgrade his position in the higher realms of the gods.

Lord Of The Sixth Realm
demonlord_small.jpg

KUTH-PHOBIAS
This demonic brother favors the art of the wager. Known as the Gambler amongst his brothers, Kuth-Phobias loves betting on just about anything. If the souls sent to his realm are lucky enough to win in a game of infernal craps, they may have a chance to return from death.

Lord Of The Seventh Realm
Demon-Warrior.jpg

RATH-DRAKKIS
Rath-Drakkis is the schemer of his demonic brethren. Much like his brother Teth-Arr, Rath-Drakkis thinks he's cut out for something much better than being a lord of Hell. However unlike his brother, Rath-Drakkis revels in the Machiavellian plot and actively conspires with anyone and anything to rise up the ranks.

Lord Of The Eighth Realm
th.jpg

KARA-THULE
This vengeful Abyssal Lord reserves most of his hatred not for The High Celestials or The Jaded Oracles, but for his brother, Mayax. Eons ago Karra-Thule lost a duel against his older brother for control of the Ninth Realm, ergo losing the most coveted dimension of the Abyss. He is seen as only the second most powerful of the demon lords. Karra-Thule would give anything to topple his brother and take control of the Ninth Realm for himself.

Lord Of The Ninth Realm
The_Demon_Lord_Kegalos.jpg
MAYAX
Eldest and most powerful of the Abyssal Lords. Mayax rules the final level of the underworld, reserved for the most wretched and evil souls of the mortal realm. Mayax can also be seen as the most ambitious of his demonic brothers. Not satisfied with being the most powerful of the demon lords of Hell, Mayax has his sights set firmly on ruling the mortal realm as well.

PRINCE VALENS
Galeius 2.jpg

Prince Valens is the eldest son of the former King Darris and was next in line to rule Argosian at the passing of his father. However Valens chose to betray his father and the rest of his family when he allied himself with his evil uncle, the demi-god Nastor. Nastor was the son of the demonic god of the Ninth Realm Of The Abyss and plotted to steal the throne from his brother Darris. Valens began studying the dark arts of the Blood Magics under the tutelage of first Nastor, than after the slaying of his father, under Mayax himself. He rules all of the Argosian Empire at Nastor's side and has become just as cruel as his monstrous uncle. Over the years Valens has become a powerful sorcerer and an adept practitioner of the black arts. He is ranked as Mayax's top pupil. He wears a hooded cloak and ceremonial mask to hide his deteriorating physical form...the price he must pay for all his vast power. The essence of the dark sorcery slowly consuming not only his mind, but his body as well. Any spark of humanity he may have had, died the day he betrayed his father, his kingdom and his family. Valens also serves as High Priest to the Order Of The Abyssal Shadows, the official “religion” of the Argosian Empire. It revolves around the worship of the demon lord of the Ninth Realm of the Abyss, Mayax. The demonic god demands a plethora of bloody human sacrifice on a monthly basis for his continued patronage and sanction. The Order has issued a mandate that all young men and women who are born with red hair become priests and priestesses in service to Mayax.

The Shadow Legions

Shadow Legions.jpg
The ground military forces of The Argosian Empire. The Legions number several hundreds of thousands in strength and are the most feared army on the face of the Great Lands of Khartouma.

The Dragon Born
Dragon Borne.jpg
The “Air Force” of the Argosian Empire. These warriors fight with and control large, black winged dragons that belch forth black fire. The Dragon Born are fierce looking warriors, possessing strange powers all their own. Each Dragon Born is psychically and spiritually linked with their dragon, which they refer to as their “Steeds”. They can also spit large quantities of black fire from their own mouths and eyes. Rider and dragon are so closely linked to one another, that if one is killed the other will die as well.

The Dark Slain
Dark Slain.jpg
The most elite, frightening and fearsome of all of Nastor's warriors. They are the Delta Force of The Argosian Empire and possess a number of demonic abilities. A Dark Slain must start out as a Shadow Legionnaire and work their way up, usually gaining notoriety in battle and be exceptionally skilled in combat. Than when a candidate is chosen worthy by "The One Defied" himself, they are granted passage to the Ninth Realm to be Blood Baptized by the god Mayax. A process in which their immortal souls are relinquished and replaced with the dark spirits of over a hundred slain warriors. It is than that the initiates are bathed inside the Cauldron of Damnation to which they emerge as a bestial creature outfitted with all sorts of powers. After a time they are returned to the mortal realm and presented before Nastor, who in turn awards them with their signature weapons, The Gauntlet of Souls. This is a weapon in which they use to capture an opponents very life essence, using it as a power source to fuel themselves. These demon warriors have an unwavering allegiance to both Nastor and Mayax. They are the most feared soldiers in the empire and have attained such infamy that opposing forces have been said to commit mass suicide to avoid the wrath of the "Slain".

Notable Figures

Name: Kharderash
Race: Warrior God
Pantheon Allegiance: The Compendium Of Chaos

Physical Appearance:
240432.jpg

History:

Kharderash is one of the founding Elders of the Compendium Of Chaos, a group of deities who favor the ways of unpredictability, random chance and the antithesis of order. This doesn't necessarily make them evil, they just view death, war and destruction as a vital and natural part of the universal cycle of creation. As one of the oldest beings in existence, Kharderash was created directly by the Nameless Superior and as such is seen as one of the most powerful gods in all pantheons. In the early days of creation, young Kharderash was seen to be at stark odds with his more light minded siblings. He favored war and the art of combat as an essential part of life, death and re-birth. In time he would split off with a few other of his divine cohorts to form the Compendium Of Chaos, while the rest of his brethren would organize into the High Celestials. From that time onward, the two factions would find themselves in near eternal opposition to another. With his combative nature, Kharderash would go onto to become the god of war itself and patent a divine fighting discipline he named The Chakra. The most deadly art of combat ever known. Kharderash is known far and wide to be the greatest warrior among all the gods, second only to the Nameless Superior.

Over the eons, Kharderash has taken many lovers and has had countless children both god and demi-god, divine and mortal. He has fathered all of the Nine Lords of the Abyss as well as his two daughters, Diedre'Tiri and Adrazna who serve as warrior goddesses within the Compendium. Kharderash is legendary for being brash, impulsive and fierce. Yet this does not mean he cannot be reasoned with, under the right circumstances, the warrior god can impart wisdom and a fair amount of patience.

Notable Figures

Name: Dhendera
Race: Oracle Goddess
Pantheon Allegiance: The Jaded Oracles

Physical Appearance:
Dhendera.jpg

History:

In the early days, when mankind was in it's infancy, a small sect of humans broke away from their brethren in order to devote themselves fully to the service of The Nameless Superior. This was to be known in legend as the first generation of the Oracien, a monk like order of men and women whose sole purpose was to amass knowledge. However, unlike their other human brethren, they did this not in the pursuit of wealth or power...but simply to understand. This did not go unnoticed by The Nameless Superior and recognizing the pureness of their intent, he anointed the Oracien as his keepers of knowledge. However one proved herself more devoted than all the others, a woman named Dhendera. Pure of spirit, heart and soul, she embodied the Oracien, eventually becoming the first generational leader of the Order. So impressed was The Nameless Superior with her devoted service, that the all powerful deity granted her a form of godhood when she died. Dhendera was to the first of the Jaded Oracles, a new sect of deified and immortal beings who would serve as the guardians of any and all knowledge throughout the cosmos. They are the universal time keepers, omnipotent and all knowing, second only to The Nameless Superior. However as such, they are forbidden from directly interfering in the affairs of mortals, acting mainly as watchers and receptacles of all knowledge. Only one mortal is chosen from each succeeding generation of Oracien to receive the ultimate honor of ascending to godhood as a Jaded Oracle. The Oracles are by definition neutral in the realms of gods and goddesses, surpassing any notions of good or evil and answer only to The Nameless Superior.

Dhendera herself sports the title as "Mistress Of Oracles" and acts as defacto leader of the Jaded Oracles due to her being the first. For eons she has presided over the Sacred Monolith, an obelisk like structure located within the barren wastes of the Forbidden Dunes. Dhendera is a kind and motherly type deity, exercising the breath of patience, understanding and wisdom amongst any who would find themselves under her charge. Although her loyalty will always lie with The Nameless Superior, she has shown genuine compassion for all living creatures and being once human herself, shows great empathy for mankind.

Race: Goddess of Virtue
Pantheon Allegiance: The High Celestials

Physical Appearance:
Fantasy_Angel_of_punishment_009589_.jpg

History:

Tetraterra is one of the founding elder goddesses of the High Celestials, a group of deities who favor the ways of virtuous endeavors , such as patience, kindness, wisdom and love. They champion the auspices of divine order throughout the greater cosmos. She is one of the oldest beings in existence, created directly by The Nameless Superior. Somewhere in the mists of the times before time, there was a great rift that split that split the elder deities into two distinct factions. These two groups were to be known as The High Celestials, the other being the Compendium of Chaos. In the great divide, Tetraterra took up the fight against her dark minded siblings, rallying others to her side. She fought for the righteous virtues of order against chaos. As a result the High Celestials were formed, setting the stage for an eternal struggle of peace against war, design against chance, light against dark. In an attempt to reconcile the two opposing sides, Tetraterra formed a close bond with the god of war himself, Kharderash. The two fell in love and in their union produced nine children, who would eventually become the Nine Lords of the Abyss. Tetraterra was heartbroken that all nine of her sons, would swear varying degrees of allegiance to their father and by extension to the forces of chaos. The goddess has felt deep shame over her union with Kharderash and for a time was even punished by her fellow Celestials for siring abominations of the underworld in the form of her nine sons. As a result, Tetraterra has worked tirelessly to redeem herself and fosters deep hope that at least one of the Abyssal Lords can be swayed into the light. Her heart aches for her children and as such, Tetraterra has become the most selfless of her Celestial brethren. She is worshipped amongst humanity as a motherly deity.

Name: Kel' Kadesh
Race: Elder God
Pantheon Allegiance: The High Celestials

Physical Appearance:
Kel Kadesh.jpg

History:

Like his siblings, Kel' Kadesh is one of the oldest beings in the cosmos. He was created directly by The Nameless Superior, albeit slightly after some of the others. When the great rift split the elder gods asunder, Kel' Kadesh was quick to stand with his sister, Tetraterra. Impulsive to a fault and wanting to spare the honor of his sister, Kel' Kadesh challenged Kharderash directly. This was a mistake, as his sibling was far better versed in the art of combat. Kel' Kadesh was soundly defeated in the ensuing conflict. As the rift spurred on, the impulsive elder god, decided to take up the bow and arrow as his weapon of choice. Through perseverance and infinite patience, Kel' Kadesh slowly began to master the weapon to such a degree, that his bowmanship was nearly unmatched. Through his new skills, Kel' Kadesh, along with his other siblings, managed to fend off Khaderash and his allies. It was than that the two opposing factions of elder gods formed. Khaderash and his followers coalesced into the Compendium of Chaos, while Tetraterra, Kel' Kadesh and others organized into the High Celestials. Because of his bravery and the mastering of his signature weapon, Kel' Kadesh became the patron god of archers, as well as the virtues of patience and perseverance. Kel' Kadesh is amongst the most even tempered and just minded of any of his elder god siblings and is slow to anger. He looks at the world of Khartouma as well as the rest of the cosmos at large with a benevolent eye and a kind spirit. A small tribe of obscure archers formed in the image of the High Celestial god, calling themselves the Monks of Kel' Kadesh...they have dedicated their service to the archer deity. They champion the virtues of patience and never giving up as well as becoming the most proficient bowmen in all the land.

"Dantavish"

Dan Tavish 1a.jpg

Dan Tavish 2a.jpg

Dan Tavish 3a.jpg

The legends of the lost city of Dantavish are many and varied. How old it is, who exactly built it and even the forgotten race that inhabited the city are not exactly known. Located in the hostile wastes of the desert in western Khartouma known as The Land Of The Black Sand, Dantavish has been a ruin for thousands of years, yet it has been the prime location for a famous and equally mysterious megalithic structure known simply as The Monolith. The Monolith is a towering black obelisk like edifice at the very center of the ruined city. Yet as the rest of the city is slowly withered away by time, wind and sand, the Monolith seems as pristine as the day it was first erected. Dantavish has a foreboding reputation of being an accursed site, with all sorts of tales swirling about all manner of strange and frightening phenomena that stalk it's decayed streets. Some scholars seem to think that Dantavish rivals even The Argosian Empire in age, and that the former rather than the latter was the first true civilization to arise on Khartouma. The only thing that most agree on concerning the ruined city, is that a terrible catastrophe befell it and it's people and that Dantavish had surely aroused the anger of the gods. It is unknown how the Monolith had become the center piece when concerning the Jaded Oracles and why the all wisdom knowing deities make the edifice their central focal point when dealing with mortals. The wise woman, known as the Prophetess, also takes residence within the walls of the forgotten metropolis. She seems to be both a dedicated servant and mouthpiece of sorts for the Jaded Oracles. Exactly who she is or where she comes from, is just another tantalizing mystery entwined in the enigma of Dantavish.

Notable Figures

Name: Adrazna
Race: Elemental Goddess
Pantheon Allegiance: The Elemental Spirits

Physical Appearance:
Adrazna Water Goddess 1.jpg

History:

Mistress of the oceans, queen of the high seas, empress of the waves...all are names to describe the goddess Adrazna, one of the four great Elemental Spirits of Khartouma. In the time before time, and during the period of the Great Rift between The High Celestials and The Compendium of Chaos, Adrazna was created. Looking for ultimate governance over the face of the cosmos, each faction sought to create a class of elemental deity to help legitimize their projected control. The Compendium of Chaos created the spirits of water and fire, known as Adrazna and Halcyion respectfully. Once the Great Rift had cooled and neither side, claimed victory over the other, the four elementals settled into their roles as the living embodiments of the four great elements. Since she and her brother Halycion were created by the progenitors of chaotic disorder their personalities reflected dispositions of trickery, deceit and selfishness. Adrazna is a fickle and impulsive goddess. She is quite unpredictable in her mood swings and is just as likely to reward or show favor to her loyal human subjects as she is to callously sink a hapless vessel for not showing proper tribute. However her most notable characteristic is her carnal appetite. A sensual and beautiful goddess, Adrazna has taken a host of lovers both mortal, god and everything in between. As a result, her offspring are many and quite varied. Being the selfish deity that she is, Adrazna shows little interest in any of her children and has often left them to be looked after by their fathers, whomever they may be. However as the half seed of the elemental goddess of water, all her children have the potential to have a degree of influence of that specific element if properly trained in the use of their half elemental powers, although none of her offspring would have the full control over all liquids as their powerful mother does. Some of her children throughout the many eons have trained to such a degree, that they proved to be a suitable match for the goddess in the mastery of the water element...many of them opposing her, seeking to replace their mother as the new Elemental god or goddess of water. All offspring challengers to her throne have thus far, failed.
