I mean, Kodoku is very discreet compared to the giant dragons and other world shaking creatures there or on their way. The only thing it might have done that wasn't seems to have been shut down by Draco. Worst case, Kodoku just slips to the Academy Grounds where it doesn't have to be discreet anymore.

Personality: Asdreum is an emotionless demon Magi who cannot feel empathy. He is almost always serious with a cocky attitude. He knows when he is outmatched and doesn't partake in activities or battles he knows he cannot win against. Asdreum is logical and acts based on facts alone not considering the emotional solutions. He is observant, taking note of everything going on in the environment using his perspective skills.

Personality:Azetzal is a cocky, know it all bitch who believes that every soul and every life is controlled by fate and destiny this cannot be changed or altered in any way. Once a screw up always a screw up. No matter how hard you try to change what you are it is impossible. Everything that happens has already been decided and written in black and white. Your future cannot change even if you travel back in time with future knowledge and try to change it and if you somehow do manage to change it then all it means is that it was your destiny to "change" your destiny and so you never really changed it at all.
Bio: Asdreum was your typical powerless human though smarter then most he always priorities logic over emotion analysing everything and looking for the best outcome when he realised there was a war brewing between the humans and the magi Asdreum was obviously nervous due to his inte lack of power so much so he briefly considered signing up to join the military to get some magi tech though the thought left a bad test in his mouth as he disliked the hyperoptic illogical nature of humans luckily for him he eventually stumbled upon a dying Demon that had just barley escaped being captured by the humans seeing its sory state Asdreum had a idea he approached the demon and offered a deal he would allow himself to be possessed in exchange for the demon borrowing hin its power and granting him his its magic Azetzal gladly accepted his deal for the life of a single human would be but spec for an immortal demon as soon as the deal was done a mark appeared on his forehead and Axol appeared in front of him and introduced himself as his new angelic companion and explained he was sent by Grace and he was formerly invited him to the magic academy

One thing I can say is that Kodoku isn't particularly good at this pragmatic villainy/enlightened self-interest thing so far.

There's research to support this concept. Calculated manipulation tends not to reap as many benefits as just being directly cooperative, as most people who try the manipulation aren't as good as they think they are at it.
Another thing is that even the risks they did take are too much if you're playing the long game and are the kind of being Kodoku is. Unless you're able to cover up your misdeeds 100% of the time, you will get caught eventually, so the strategy isn't as effective as being directly cooperative. Of course, you might be able to get away with it if you're immensely powerful and charismatic, but that doesn't seem to be how their author was writing them.
