Fandom Walking Dead RP

Jason knew what everyone was carrying and no one was carrying a flashlight, except, he didn't know what Lachlan had. He looked to him. "Got one of those newfangled electrical torches on you?" He said in a terrible southern accent.

Sean peered into the darkness inside the hatch. He felt a little dizzy and swayed a bit as he stood up. Putting his hand on the brick wall behind him to steady himself he looked to Lachlan hopefully. They were doomed without light. The basement could be a death trap even though he heard nothing from below.

Lachlan walked over to the two men. He hadn't really been making much of an impression and decided he was going to start now. He loomed over the trapdoor and peered inside. He couldnt see anything but could damn well smell it. He removed a 9mm Pistol he had had since before he found Sean and switched on the flashlight. He pointed down the hatch and saw the light glint back at him from glazed eyes. He almost fell over backwards trying to get away from the rotting children he had seen below.

(Thanks for covering for me guys)

Sean put his hand on Lachlan's shoulder when he stummbled. "What is it?", he asked with concern. Before hearing the sound. That sound like a death rattle that goes on and on. He took the flashlight from Lach's hand and stepped forward to see as well. The smell hit him when he leaned over the hole, and the eyes glimmered back at him from the darkness. He swallowed sickness. The smell was even worse in a confined space. He covered his mouth and nose with his free hand, "God damn...it's...kids.", he noted with disgust. He glanced up at Jason, "Just two though...someone must have brought them here for shelter..."

"Well, didn't work" Jason said calmly and matter-of-factly. It seems like nothing ever really phased him. "It's not safe in there, there may be spores" Jason said. He looked around at the dumbfounded faces. "When a corpse rots, infection settles. The infection spreads through a small area of air around the dead infected. The only way to fight it is a gas mask, and I'm guessing none of us got that?"

Sean blinked at Jason, turning off the flashlight to conserve it's battery. "We're already infected.", he said darkly turning away from the smell, "I've seen it. This old fella at the Resort...that's where I came from....he had a heart attack. Died right there at dinner. Then tore his poor wife's throat out and came at us. Never been bit or anything. We didn't expect it and he nearly took the whole damn place down.". he explains gruffy, crouching to pull his second throwing knife from his other boot. Carter still had the first. "Those spores are everywhere now...we're all breathin' em in...seems it's only when we die...", he trailed off. Looking back into the hatch. "I don't think it matters."

Lachlan felt completely horrible. They were far too young to have existed in this world. He only hoped they got the mercy they deserved.

"I don't know though.", Sean said with a sigh, looking at the others for their opinions. He caught Lachlan's eyes, "We have two choices, here. Go down and hope we don't die. Or leave this building and hope we don't die. What do you think, Lach?" He was turning the throwing knife around and around in his hands, anxiously.

Lachlan hadn't even heard Sean. The memories blocked the information coming from his ears. He looked at Sean and choked out "I'm cool with whatever."

Sean nodded, seeing the look of horror on his old friend's face. "You might want to look away.", he said softly, understanding the reason behind Lachlan's clear discomfort. His daughter wasn't with him, and in this new world that meant one thing. "I'm gonna give them mercy. Then we'll decide what to do." He turned back to the hole, hearing their awful sounds. He held his knife in the proper manner and waited a moment before he tossed it expertly. It flew end over end, down into the hatch where it hit it's mark. The young boy collapsed, the blade stuck in his glazed right eye. His sister snarled and clawed the air with blood covered little hands. Her face was mostly skeletal, with green flesh hanging off white bone like the bark of a cedar tree. Sean took a deep breath, before turning to look at Jason. He held out his hand for the hatchet, recieved it, and threw it down as well. With a crunch it entered the little girl's forehead. She fell on top of her brother and there was silence.

Lachlan knew it had to be done, it was better this way. This didn't make it any more difficult though. He got up and stepped into the hatch first. He ignored the smell and his eyes were already tearing up so he couldn't see the horrors clearly. He took point, he didnt need them thinking he was weak and he was already crying silently. "Ugh come on down." Was all he managed to choke. He walked on. He could hardly stand up in here.

Sean waited for Lachlan to reach the end of the ladder before starting down after him. As he decended the stench grew stronger and stronger. He gagged, as he stepped onto the concrete. "Jesus....", he growled, looking around the room. It wasn't a very large space, and most of it was taken up by machines. Several rows of them. Above, there were florecent lights hanging from the ceiling. Sean knew they wouldn't work. There was no electricity and the machines stood silent. There was some noise though. He grabbed Lachlan's arm to get his attention. His brows were furrowed deeply as he whispered, "There is something else down here..."

Lachlan was in no mood for games now. Whatever had turned those poor kids was going to get it. He saw a single zombie move toward him. As it approached it stretched out it's arms and opened its mouth. Lachlan seized it by the throat and lifted it clean off the ground. He placed his second hand under its chin and started growling. He pulled up and tore the head from the beast before dropping it, still biting and crushing it beneath his foot. "Fuck this place." He hissed.

Sean watched with wide eyes as his old friend ripped the head right off the corpse with his bare hands and crushed it's skull beneath his foot. "Fuck this place", Lachlan said, and Sean was speechless for a moment. The brute strength and unyielding rage he had just witnessed was both terrifying and impressive. He simply didn't know how to respond. After a moment, however, he cleared his throat and looked around the dark space. "Seems to be quiet now...", he whispered, and glanced at the blood covered man holding the flashlight. He looked him over quietly before he added, "Are you gonna be alright, brother?", with concern.

Lachlan whipped toward Sean, still angry at the world. His eyes softened as he looked at him. ''I'll be fine, I just hate seeing the little ones get hurt. What's the plan from here?'' Lachlan wiped the blood onto his pants and waited for his response.

Sean nodded, frowning over at Lachlan. "I know...that's why I can't leave Jason alone with those kids.", he said as quietly as possible, while they were alone, "I trust him to protect them but...he's dangerous...don't you think? Trigger happy..." He moved over to the corpses of the two kids and picked up the llittle boy with a grunt. The stench of him filled his nose and made his eyes water. "For now I'm getting these bodies out of here. It's not perfect but it's safe...I hope."

"You can get the kids out, and I'll get this prick. Dont let those little ones see any of it okay?" Said Lachlan, picking up the mangled head and the body. "And dont let that man near anyone, he's dangerous." Lachlan waited for Sean to mov3 the kids.

Sean nodded in agreement, and tossed the rotting child over his shoulder before climbing up the ladder. He put him just outside the brick building, then returned for the other. He wasn't afraid to touch the dead when he needed to. Despite his care as he picked her up the little girl's intestines, green and black with decay, spilled out of her body and across the concrete floor. Sean gagged and swallowed bile as he pushed it back up inside her belly quickly. He had hunted all his life, and butchered his own kills, so he was no stranger to insides. This was different, though, in so many ways. He was grateful that Lachlan was already up the ladder. No one who had just lost a child needed to see this. No one should ever have to see this.

Lachlan sat facing the other man. He did not trust him at all, he was dangerous and trigger happy. They were the kind of people that hurt others. He had already murdered that poor soul earlier without hesitation. He wondered if he could so easily do that to him or Sean or worse... the two kids they had with them.

(Sorry, guys, my notifications acting funny)

Jason kept Lachlan and Sean covered as they pulled the children out of the hole. He was shocked at the News Sean had given Jason, but even though, he kept a cool head. He then saw Lachlan looking at him, and Jason seemed to read his mind. "Look, guys, the only reason I killed that girl was to protect you all, to protect me, to protect our possessions. She drew on US. She started it, and I finished it. I won't do the same to you unless you pose a threat, and right now, none of you do. Does anyone got a problem with me killing her? If so, speak up."

Lachlan just shook his head and looked down. He didn't need any trouble. Hewatched the two children together. She looked so much like Sarah it was crazy. He just wished she was here too.

Sean cleared his throat, watching Lachlan's reaction. He understood the way Lachlan felt, because that was how he felt too. The trouble wasn't worth it right now. He didn't answer until after he had laid the last corpse outside. Then he came back in and shoved the desk back into place. It was already on it's side and noise wasn't as much of a factor now, so moving it alone was no problem for the larger man. "I don't think you should have killed her. I don't know if she would have tried anything but...now we'll never know.", he said matter of factly when he had finished. He stood in front of Jason and looked him in the eye. Then he continued, "I have a problem with your quick judgements, and the way you kill without battin' an eye, son.", he crossed his arms across his abdomen and looked thoughtfully at the floor, looking for the right words. "Things have changed, that's true, and maybe being like that is the way now.", he stated, "But you gotta realize that to everyone else you're the man pointing a gun in their face. You held on me, and on Quentin and the girl. You held on Max and Lachlan too. I could have tossed a knife in your direction as quickly as you can pull a trigger...but I'm not that type of person. Why? Cause we're all scared. We all carry now. Just about everyone you meet is gonna have a weapon drawn...that's the new way. Because we all got to protect ourselves from that common enemy. And we need to protect what little life is left inthis world if we can help it. Do you know what I'm talking about, Jason?", he looked back up at the young man, hoping he had been able to express his thought well enough. He was never one for words.

"Yeah, I got you, Sean. And I respect your way of thinking. I see the flaws in my way now, but I'm still going to stick to it. Answer this for me, Sean, your Humanity, or your life? Your Humanity, or my life? Your Humanity, or Lachlan's life, or Joey's, or Carter's? That's what it comes down to now, Sean. The World just commited Suicide, the world belongs to the dead, and now everyone is at everyone else's throats, everyone has a gun to everyone else's head, but they can't pull the trigger. Then those people die. I'm not one of those people, Sean, I'm not going to die. I want to live, to survive, to die of old age, not to die by getting gnawed on or getting shot. I choose me instead of a stranger. I choose all of you instead of a stranger. Especially a stranger with a weapon"

Sean's brow furrowed, his knuckles turning white. His hands were balled into fists and hidden in his armpits by the way he had his arms crossed. He glanced at Lachlan, then at the young girl who held the baby. When Jason was tied up in the grocery store and Sean had wanted to abandon him to protect himself and the other's who had been with him Carter had chosen to go back. Even though she knew that there were people there who could be dangerous. The older man knew how she felt about humanity. It was plain as day, with her standing there holding that baby. His own opinion on the matter was less obvious. Killing people wasn't the problem he had. He had killed a friend of his as she looked him in the eye and begged him not to. That was different though, because the woman had been bitten. He had been sparing the rest of the group from the risk that came with someone being allowed to die slowly and turn naturally. Not that it had mattered in the end. All of what they had worked for was gone. And now here he was, debating what was right and what was wrong when there was no time for it. He could have walked away from Jason earlier that night with no second thought as to whether or not he survived and that would have been the end of it. But no. He had listened to the voice of the group and gone back. To the group. He knew how Lach felt. Jason was dangerous and felt that he was in the right. The girl was a different matter. She had gone back and Quentin had convinced him to go after her. Now that damn boy was dead for it. With that thought Sean made up his mind. He nodded slowly, looking back to Jason and letting his arms drop to his sides. "Alright.", he sighed. "Are we gonna go down and get settled?"

"Yeah, as long as everyone's all argued out" Jason said. "Lead the way" he added. He didn't like the arguing with Sean, but they just had different views on the world now. He thought back to that old show. Jason was Shane and Sean was Rick. They would be friends, but their personalities got in the way. He just hoped Jason wouldn't die like Shane did, killed by Rick.
