Dex Gustafsson
I'm just a dead boy
I'll die for you, if you want me to
“That all the candy you got? You sure you're not holding out on me? Huh??” With Juniper cradled in his arms, Dex tipped the little girl upside down and gently shook her, as if a sprinkle of fun-sized candy bars would fall cartoonishly from her pockets. This was met with peals of giggles and squeals from Juni, which only encouraged her dad to keep it up, until he remembered how much chocolate she'd already scarfed down. Then decided he should probably quit jostling the kid around so much, before the rest of his night was spent cleaning puke up off the living room floor.

On an epic sugar high from her trick or treating haul, Juni continued to bounce off the walls for a good 45 minutes, until she passed out abruptly in front of the TV. Dex scooped her up and delivered her carefully to her bed–teeth unbrushed, not even in her PJs, but he wasn't about to wake the little demon to remedy all that. Trying to get her changed out of her beloved Halloween costume would be tomorrow's battle.

Dex wandered back to the couch and began to flip absently through the channels. Staring at the television, ginger brows knitted in thought, but the pictures on the screen failed to even register to his distracted brain. His mind was elsewhere--on Kiera, to be exact. He wondered how her evening was going, if she was having fun at the bar with her coworkers. Selfishly, he wished she was there with him, straddled by those perfect thighs of hers.

The thought was a nice distraction from his insecure worries, all but convincing him that her drinking buddies were far more charming, funny, better-looking than him–whichever would sway Kiera to give into the drunken urge for a casual hook-up.

Not that he didn't trust his girlfriend. It was more like he still couldn't believe he'd ever snagged her to begin with. Dex was definitely a girlfriend guy, a monogamist, and Kiera, well…was not. She was always a wild one, and Dex couldn't help but wonder if she'd ever be able to fully change her ways just for him. As much as he adored her, it always felt like a waiting game; just waiting for Kiera to realize how boring he was compared to her old life of adventure.

Dex hopped to his feet at the sound of a knock at the door. He made a grab for the candy bowl, but was pleasantly surprised to find Kiera standing out there instead of a group of trick or treaters.

“Hey! What're you doing here??” Dex couldn't contain his elated grin upon finding her at his doorstep. “Needed a candy fix?” He joked, offering Kiera the bowl of sweets as she stepped inside. His free hand wasted no time curling around her hip so he could pull the blonde close and kiss her lips eagerly.

“Mm, and what are you supposed to be?” Dex took a step back to get a proper eyeful of her in this ridiculously sexy getup. Green eyes flickered over the black bustier that hugged the curve of her waist nicely, trimmed in ruffles and little bows. Reaching out to run his thumb along the inner seam of her sweetheart neckline, her skin beneath impossibly soft, as always.“Some kinda hot, goth…superhero?” He teased.

Sulan looked away from him, a bit annoyed by his words. Who did he think he was? Who did he think SHE was. She hadn't needed protecting at any point of her life, though she knew her cousins and family constantly did. She could handle herself. She grew up in Compton and had people shooting at her for what her family did all of the time. She even went as far as to take her protection into her own hands and join the piru gang, though everyone told her no, they knew it was Sulan and she did what she wanted so the only rule was that she'd need a different initiation the rest of the women because no one was allowed to touch her. So....she did what she had to do and jumped some girl from a rival gang and nearly beat her to death.

They knew she was always destined for more though - and soon they shipped her off to college at UNLV, close enough where they could keep an eye on her, but far enough from the violence of LA. Still, it's not like she forgot how to take care of herself all those years away. So she didn't need Sora to protect her in the least bit.

"Do you hear yourself? I let you think whatever you want when things were just supposed to be casual, but do you not hear yourself?" Sulan got to her feet and threw her hands up out of frustration pacing in a circle,"Do you think I need protection from you? YOU?! I am a grown woman, I do what I want to do Sora." She shook her head moving over to her vanity and using her perfectly manicured hands to find a joint she had already rolled somewhere knocking over things in the process as she was frantic.

She took a deep breath before she let a burst of anger guide her hands in pushing everything on her vanity to the floor with a loud crash. Him saying he was leaving triggered so much anger from the normally calm and at worst, aloof Sulan. She closed her eyes for a bit as she clutched her fist tight enough where her nails were digging into her palms, breaking the skin.

"You're such a dumb motherf**ker...if running away from your issues what you want to do? Then your stupid ass can run...I'm going to my sister's until you're gone." and with that she went to grab her phone and her keys to leave.

"God..im the fucking worst"

He could only really look at the mess she was making. With his limited movement he can only do so much. He can't stop her, he can't force her to stay. All the times he wanted to be alone and now all he wanted was for her to be with him by his side. All of his pushing away and antics had finally gotten him into a position that he wanted to avoid for a little longer. He knew he couldn't delay the inevitable..for him this was going to impossible, so why try?

Because it's her.

"Sulan you're telling me despite everything you still think this is a good idea? You've thought all this time that my mind would..change?" No no- that's not what I want to say! He adjusted his body to sit up with a loud groan. "I could've died. I can die at anytime. You really want to worry everyday?" He asked not expecting any answers since she was in a state. He looked over at the nightstand while his feet finally touched the floor. Don't leave. Don't leave me. Don't "-Leave then. I'm not going to stop you. I'm sorry for wasting your time" He felt a ball in his throat as all he could see was the back of his body and the slamming of the door.

Once the quietness filled the space he felt like a dick. The hot tears were dripping down his face. His breathing was rapid and hurting. "This is fine..this is great. I don't deserve her anyway.." he said while he laid back to smell her scent on the sheets one last time. He'd come to realize he's made a huge mistake sooner or later.

Victor Torres
Seems like street lights, glowing, happen to be
just like moments passing in front of me
Victor hated feeling useless.

Normally, he would be dead asleep by now after a hard day's work. The man was always up at dawn to get his day going, his business running. Instead, he found himself in the shop at an ungodly hour, fixing up a Mazda with a shiny new catalytic converter.

There would be no sleep for him tonight, after hearing about a disaster earlier in the evening, a building collapse that had buried a group of first responders. Victor was out of his mind with worry upon hearing the breaking news, but luckily he was able to get ahold of his daughter, who turned out to be fine, thank god.

He wanted to get down there–and do what, exactly? Victor didn't really know. Helping locate missing people, assist pulling folks from the wreckage, whatever was needed. Above all though, it was just the urge to be there when his little girl was in danger. Of course, she wasn't so little anymore; she was beyond capable, now a remarkable young woman who could take care of herself and many others. She was saving lives every day in her profession, and Victor was so proud of her for that. But with all the dangers of her career, as her father, it never got easier.

Yessie had assured him it was best to let the professionals handle the situation for the time being, before they start accepting volunteer help from the public. But Victor had a sneaking suspicion she was just worried about how he'd perform such a task at his age. Like he might just end up getting hurt himself, and be one more injury for the frantically overworked hospital staff to deal with.

So for the moment, this was all he could do. It was either concentrate on something productive or else he’d spend the whole night pacing around the shop. At least the Mazda's owner would be happy to get their car back early.

Usually, Victor would have some music playing while he worked, just some soft background noise via the local classic rock radio station. He was nearly finishing the installation when he realized he’d forgotten to switch it on, and the eerie silence was suddenly broken by a persistent banging on the door, coupled with shouting from the other side. He immediately rushed over, grabbing the rag that was slung over his shoulder to wipe the grease from his hands.

Who could that be at this hour? A very familiar voice indeed, but they were shouting his first name--no way in hell would one of his daughters try that. And the way she yelled in such a joyfully sing-song tone, didn't exactly sound like someone who was having emergency car trouble.

“Hey! What’re you up to, loca?” His face lit up in a delighted smile when he found Maddison at the door, breaking into a chuckle at the pleasant surprise. “Come in, come in. What can I do for you?” Victor ushered her forth to welcome Maddie inside, catching her in one arm to give her a warm hug that was still careful not to get grease all over her.

Victor watched her strut inside, trailed by a set of feathery wings, closing the door behind her. “That’s some costume,” He remarked with a friendly smile, but the mechanic quickly took refuge in busying himself on the car once again, so his gaze wouldn't linger on her for too long. A bit taken aback by how stunning she looked in her black dress and those dark raspberry lips. When had she gotten so grown up?

“So how’s your night goin’?” Victor asked, glancing up from his work. “Your brother know you're out this late?” He teased, wondering what was keeping Santi occupied, if he’d let Madds out of his sight on such a rowdy night as Halloween in Vegas.

Finally.

Maddison’s face lit up when she saw him, an enthusiastic smile curved at her lips, and her half lidded eyes seemed to brighten. She hugged him in return, not caring much about his grease stained clothes thanks to the alcohol in her system. She followed him in, feathers fluttering behind her. This wasn’t her first time being there and yet she still looked around in an inebriated awe.

“What Santi doesn’t know won’t hurt him.” She slurred, picking up a grease covered tool from his workbench and fiddling with it. “Besides, I’m an adult. I can do whateeeeever I want.”

Maddison gave Victor another grin, leaning back against his workbench and crushing the bottom part of her wings. “And you’re not gonna tell him because this is our little secret. Victor and Maddie secret. Maddie and Victor.”

She turned the tool in her hands, fiddling and trailing her fingertips along the grease stains, smudging and looking at her fingers with a wrinkle in her nose. She set the tool down and wiped her hands on her dress before hopping up onto the tool bench, kicking her feet innocently.

“Can I stay? I won’t break anything I promise. I’ll be so good. No touchy just watch and maybe talk and stuff.” What ‘stuff’ meant, Maddison had no idea. Really she had no idea what she was doing, just going with the flow and trying not to appear as though the world around her was spinning and her mind was completely fogged. Trying to pretend as though the muscles straining in Victors shirt weren’t a big deal even though she couldn’t seem to take her eyes off of him once she had noticed.

Victor snickered at Maddison's remarks on her brother, nodding in response. He could certainly relate to his buddy's overprotective tendencies, even if Santi took it to extremes sometimes. “Our little secret,” He repeated, holding up two fingers, as if cementing his promise with the gesture.

“‘Aw, ‘course you can stay,” The mechanic answered, turning back to the car suspended above him on the lift. “You know you’re always welcome here, kid,” He added, reaching up to screw a new sensor into place in its undercarriage.

Though he was looking away, there was a deep sincerity in his tone. She was just as dear to him as Santi, his longtime best friend, all the way back to their military days. Victor was thankful she'd been bored enough to pay him a visit on this particular evening. Her presence was probably the one thing keeping him from calling Yessie at least three more times in the night, just to be sure she was still fine.

Yeah, there was just something special about Madds. She always managed to brighten his day with her sweetness or sense of humor. And there were little things here and there, like the way she'd flip her untamed mane of wild curls, she reminded him so much of a young Juliana sometimes. Not that Victor would ever admit such a thing. He rarely talked about his late wife to begin with, let alone to blurt out a comment like that about Santi’s sister. Innocent as it was, he'd never let that get back to Santiago. The last thing he wanted was to give him the wrong idea, like he was sniffing around Madds with ill intentions or something.

“Under one condition though. You gotta help,” Victor turned to Maddie with a wink, waving her over. “Bring that socket wrench, we’re gonna need it,” He chuckled, watching her turn the wrench over in her hands like some sort of foreign object.

As Madds stumbled over, he stepped behind her, and Victor had to stand quite close in order to negotiate his arms around her wings. He gently grasped each one of her biceps in his warm but calloused hands, guiding her to where she needed to stand beneath the car. “All right,” Just about to begin his lesson when he noticed how wobbly she seemed, even just standing still.

“Wow, how much have we had to drink tonight?” Victor teased, giving her shoulders a playful squeeze. He knew she was probably a little tipsy, out partying on Halloween night and all. But he was just now realizing, from her unsteady stance and slurred speech, she seemed to be more wrecked than he'd originally thought.

“Hang on a sec,” He murmured, making a beeline for the old fridge that stood in the corner of the garage. He grabbed a bottle of cold water from inside, remembering to switch on the radio as he hurried back over to Madds.

“Here, drink this,” Victor insisted firmly, holding the bottle out toward her until she took it. “All of it, okay? Or you’ll get a wicked hangover.”

Amon Mabrouk
Now all the the simple things
are simply too complicated for my life
Something suddenly bashed into the elbow he'd been resting on the couch’s arm. Surprised by the sudden impact, Amon reflexively jumped to his feet when he saw a blonde hurtling forward. But it was happening so fast, and he was too far away to do anything but watch helplessly. Luckily, it was just a minor stumble, and the woman was able to regain her footing quickly.

Talk about seeing Arthur everywhere he looked. This girl looked exactly like her from behind, even if it was just his imagination running away with him again. What was for dead certain though, was that he seemed to be some sort of disaster magnet tonight. Amon decided he should probably split before he caused any more mishaps.

However, when the blonde turned to face him, Amon was shocked to find it actually was Arthur, as if all his sorrowful moping had conjured her from thin air. But before he could say a word, she was gone. The elation he felt to suddenly see her there didn't even have a chance to register on his face. He could only stare dumbfounded as she mumbled an apology and took off running, nearly disappearing into the crowd. Amon scrambled after her, shouting her name. But his voice didn't seem to carry, quickly drowned out by the loud music still pumping through the club.

He chased her all the way to the exit, the cool night air a welcome reprieve from the stifling atmosphere he felt amidst the crowd.

“Arthur!” He yelled out again, and this time he knew she'd heard him. “Arty, wait!” He pleaded, slowing to a stop when she finally halted on the sidewalk. As Amon stepped toward her, he was awash with a whole roller coaster of emotions. His heart was pounding with the excitement of being near her again, mixed with a deep sense of relief that she was here with him, close enough to touch. The briefest little hint of the warm, cozy contentment he used to feel when they were together, holding her in his arms as they'd fall asleep together.

There was the wonderful serotonin rush coursing through him, that Arthur's pretty face always seemed to provide. Yet there was also anger bubbling up, threatening to take over at any moment and make him say something stupid to spoil the moment, as usual.

“What, you're mad at me or something? For, what, exactly?” He blurted out angrily. “You broke up with me!”

Amon sighed after his little outburst, wishing he could rewind the last few seconds. Not that he wasn’t still mad, but none of it seemed to matter in the moment, once he noticed Arthur was crying. If there was ever something Amon simply couldn't abide, this was it. Even more so if it was in response to his own doing. He would do just about anything to stop it, to fix whatever was wrong in order to dry her tears.

“I’m sorry,” Amon declared softly, head cocked to make his dark chocolate eyes meet her avoidant, amber brown gaze. He took her hand and gently pull her toward him, until her slender frame was all wrapped up in his embrace. “Let me drive you home." He let his cheek rest against her soft, flaxen hair for a moment, to take in the familiar scent of that orange shampoo she always used.

Arthur says. . . .

She heard him calling her name. It was a mix of sadness and joy that she felt. The need for her just like she felt for him. She figured he got lost in the crowd as she was outside, but soon it was brought to her attention he wasn't going anywhere.

He's.. serious..

Arthur halted her body in the sidewalk. Arty.. hearing him call her that reminded her of the times before things went out of control. It almost made her want to cry more.

His face, his handsome face. Even while he sounded angry she could at least see from her blurry vision that he was concerned about her.

"I know..I know that!.."she started to say while her voice cracked and her body shook slightly out of frustration. It was now towards herself at this point. Then he did it. He said he was sorry and she allowed herself to be pulled into his embrace. She buried her face in his chest before shaking her head. "No I don't.. want to go home.." Arthur admitted. She didn't want to be alone. She wanted.. what did she want?

Her chest was heavy and her body was tingling with the help of the alcohol flowing through her veins. "Why do you make it impossible for me to hate you? Wouldn't.. wouldn't that be easier so you can find yourself someone that's ideal for you? I can't..." she started to say while taking a deep shaky breath. Was she really about to just pour her heart out to him?

"That's the main reason for breaking up. You have your views on how women should be and I'm...just not that. I can never be that for you and I thought that maybe things would change after I told you and that you would come back.. fight for me. You didn't even do that.. was all out time together- did it really not mean anything? Those thoughts have been stuck in my head for so long and now.." Arthur leaned back slightly so she could wipe her eyes and look around.. eventually finding his brown eyes.

"....I tried to distance myself recently because I thought.. maybe it would be better that way, but really..I was hurting. I wanted to see you. I just think about how.. how I still..I love you.. even after everything"

There I said it. I've gone and done it.
She thought.

"Now I've.. made a complete fool out of myself, huh?" She said to him with a small laugh to break the tension. Her body didn't want to move. Her eyes scanned his face for answers that may not have even been there. She wanted to bring up more, like that girl on the couch, but felt as though he would tell her something she would already know the answers to.

Friday, November 22nd
The city is cooling off, but still full of tourists, crime, and excess. Just another day in Vegas, baby.

Aurcel Colm

A
urcel had been waiting. It had been some time after her brother was recovered from the building collapse and he could tell that family meant a lot to Steph. Even though their encounters outside of her work weren't ideal for anyone it wasn't going to deter him. He had been courting her for a long time. This was not going to scare him off.

Aurcel was very reassuring to her and gave her space when she needed. He was on the phone with her and heard her slight snoring through said phone that he'd tease her about every morning. Anything she'd need he was there if he could be. He wanted to be that for someone. Someone reliable. Someone he didn't have to think twice about helping. That he could do what he wanted in peace.

After some chats and contemplating he felt like it was the right time to ask her out on a date. An official date. He hoped that this time it would go without a hitch, but life is always so unpredictable. He told her it would be a surprise and while they talked he went on to grab groceries and clean his place so that after his surprise of ice skating they can have a nice warm retreat. Aurcel didn't have ulterior motives for wanting to be at his place. Even if she chose to eat elsewhere he would be fine with it,but in the end he want to be close to her. Maybe even kiss that pretty little mouth of hers...just a little..just a taste.

Who am I kidding? If I kiss her I don't think I'll be as gentlemanly.. "
he chuckled to himself as he continued to get ready to pick her up. He was happy that she was going to take long to get ready. That means he wouldn't have to rush..even still he didn't want to be late. He at least wanted to be there just before the sun was setting so they'd have all night. So he could see her as soon as he could.

Dai was only supposed to be gone for 3 days and those three days turned into almost 2 weeks. There was a couple factors with that change. 1. She needed to get her head straight. 2. There was 3 other gigs that wanted her out there. Then finally 3. She had set up some very important meetings. She had been slammed ever since Halloween night.

It was almost a blur coming back to her cold home. She found a box on her doorstep as she walked up. She grabbed it and headed to her room. Dai even felt sick as she went into her room and could still smell him slightly on her sheets. Her eyes stared at her belongings that were neatly placed in the cardboard box. 'I want to..see him. No. He shouldn't want to see me. I will ruin his mood. She thought before her body was on auto pilot as she grabbed her keys and got into her car. While entering the 215 she was trying to think of everything possible to stray her from seeing him,but it all ended the same. I need to see him. If this is really the last time then I need to...try not to be so emotional. I need to tell him. He deserves to know some things at least. Even if he says nothing I'll leave quietly and he won't see me..

There goes that twinkle of hope that was shattered the last time she was at his place. She was mad,but she let that go because right now she had other things to worry about...like if he was just going to not acknowledge her and leave her outside in the cold. Dai stayed outside. She didn't know how long it had been and she couldn't help, but wrap her arms around her body.

What if he's moved on already? What if he's forgotten all about me? What if he really never cared..? No! No I can't assume. I can only talk and listen..if he'll let me..she thought as she waited for him just like that night on the steps.

"Fucking Great."
I don't know what's wrong with me. I've thought of every possibility and nothing like this has ever made me feel this way..except for that 1 time. That God awful time that I can't take back. Now there's this. Her. Fuck. I thought leaving was simple and always the answer. I thought that there was no way she could distract me,but really she's the only thing that I can think about.

Sora wasn't thinking straight and he was high strung on cases. Ever since Halloween he hasn't been feeling himself. He left her place and healed. He thought that by now she should be a distant memory, but now he just got out of his bosses office after having a discussion about transferring back to Vegas. When his boss asked why all Sora could say was, "My home is over there. If you ever need help please reach out,but for now I'm leaving."

If he would've not been so stubborn and stuck in his own ways maybe he wouldn't have done so many terrible things to her. Sora couldn't help, but think that now she deserved to know everything. He was willing to peel back his persona this one time. For Her.

From the planes to the Uber rides to his car- he was exhausted. He debated on going to sleep, but he slept on the plane, that should be enough right? He's rehearsed what he wanted to say to her so many times that he could practically say it in his sleep.

I didn't text or call her because I know if I said anything either she has me blocked already or she will avoid me. I won't let that happen. I don't give two shits.

Sora drove by her place and saw she wasn't there. He went to all the places he could think of where she might be until he thought about her talking about her labs. If she's immersed into her work as me then I should've started there..

He saw her car in the parking lot and quickly parked before rushing inside. Sora peeked his head through all the glass on the doors before seeing her. There was no hesitation in sight. After he saw a good enough opening he opened the door. "Sulan, can we talk outside?" He asked while holding the door with his body, propping it open.

Better now than never right?

❛ Boss' Son ❜
Emiliano had just gotten off the phone with his last client of the day. Even though it was stressful he wouldn't let the morning ruin his evening. After all, he was going on a date with a woman he found to be his equal. Does she know that yet? No, but she will.

Emiliano had to make sure everything was perfect. He wanted to show her that he wasn't just all talk like when they were in the office. Luckily, this buisness trip in Vegas happened so now he can impress her how he knows best.

He sent a text to her after being silent for some time, making the anticipation that much sweeter. "We agreed on 7pm so I have my driver Antonio heading over there at 4pm. That should give you enough time if you haven't decided on what to wear yet. I'll see you tonight."

Emiliano made sure to have the reservations at Lago, located in the Bellagio Casino. At first he was skeptical, but the view is top tier and he did have it on his first night to see if it met his standards.

Even though everything was going perfect he still felt nervous. He didn't even know if that was the right word. He was just worried he was trying too hard, but at the end of the day he wouldn't want anyone else to steer her gaze away from him.

"I left her the car and my card, I must be out of my mind. Completely" he laughed at himself before he started to get ready to meet her at the restaurant, the woman he'd been fantasizing about for god knows how long.

Arthur says. . . .

It's been some time since Halloween. Part of Arthur wanted to forget about it,but no matter what she couldn't. She got swept up in Amon's words and patience with her that night. She definitely ruined her progress she made. Arthur and him agreed to start the ball rolling again for their relationship some days after Halloween and now here they are. She texted him to come over like she always did and turned on her shows. She did end up taking a hot shower as she tried to cool her thoughts.

Don't be nervous! He's come over before...well during that time he was my friend and not trying to make me feel uncomfortable I think...now it's different. Amon is the type of person that knows what he wants and right now it seemed like all the arrows were pointing to her.

She scrubbed her face at the realization and vigorously washed her hair. Arthur wanted to make sure he didn't look at her and look repulsed.

Arthur took a long look in the mirror after getting dressed. Her skin was bare, her freckles were prominent, and her eyes finally looked like the life had not been sucked out. It wasn't until she heard the door that she nearly jumped up and had her heart pounding in her chest. "Coming!" She said as she got to the door, her dainty orange bracelet chiming on her wrist. Don't be weird and dont seem nervous! Do you hear me brain??

When she saw him face her body seemed to be tense, but relaxed at the same time. "Finally, I was wondering if you forgot how to get to my place" she laughed as she opened the door wider. "I was just deciding on what to watch so you came at a perfect time.." she exclaimed as she closed and locked the door behind them.

Here we go..

In the last few weeks, Tobias had buried himself in his work. He didn't want to feel anything. The first few days, he found that even coming home and giving himself an hour or so to unwind from work left room for painful tears. So, he didn't give himself time to rest. When he got home, he worked some more. He worked until he was exhausted and didn't have to worry about thoughts of Dai lingering in his mind when his head hit his pillow.

He tried not to show it, but he was so tired. Everything he was doing to cope with the breakup left Tobias' mind and body under a lot of stress. It was unhealthy. He was being praised by his higher ups for how much good work he was getting done, but even they could tell something was off. They saw it in his eyes. His boss told him to take a couple days off. Tobias declined the offer. Then, his boss said it wasn't an offer, it was a demand. The studio wouldn't want to lose one of their top earners to death by fatigue.

So, Tobias came home, already upset by the thought of not being at work the next few days. He'd try to get work done from home as much as possible, make sure he couldn't give in to his emotions. But deep down, he knew this break would force him to confront everything he had been avoiding.

He just didn't expect the confrontation to come so soon.

When he opened his car door and stepped out, there she was, just like before. Tobias got chills all over his body. "Dai?" He called out, voice slightly quiet. "What are you doing here?" He asked, trying to sound cold, but the words came out slightly pained despite his best efforts.

Dai was in a daze until the car door sitting startled her. There was definitely no turning back now. She slowly stood up and wiped the dirt off her pants. "I-uhm" she started to say trying to firm words while looking at him. He looked tired. More tired than she had seen him. Was this only because of work or because... of her? He instincts wanted to just pull him closer and hug him, but right now that would be inappropriate. She knew that, at least.

"I wanted to talk to you again. There was a lot of things.. that didn't sit right with me.. that night. I-if you don't think it'd be a good idea that's fine-" she finally said in a quiet, shaky voice.

Her cold slender fingers raked through her dark hair as the slight wind picked up. "I'm sorry for showing up unannounced..I just got back into town and this couldn't wait" Dai admitted. She felt like a black hole would suck her up at any moment. She couldn't even move an inch, but in realty sure would rather this than not doing anything- than not seeing him.

;; Trevor
It was just another day of Trevor doing what Trevor did best. Making money through... less than honest means. He didn't even feel bad about it. Vegas was the perfect spot, filled with people desperate to make a quick buck, tourists who didn't know any better. He was able to keep his profits up by underpaying and over pricing.

When people came into the good ol "Reliable Pawn Shop" looking to sell some goods, Trevor almost always immediately devalued their items. Picking apart any flaws, even making some up if it suited him. It was just business, nothing personal. Besides, it wasn't like these desperate souls were getting nothing, they always walked away with a handful of cash in the end. If they wanted more, maybe they should have done their research and found a pawn shop that was actually reliable.

It had been a decent Friday afternoon. Thursdays and Fridays always seemed to be Trevor's best days for acquiring items to sell. People came in, desperate for a quick buck to spend on their weekend activities. After a brief rush in people coming in to pawn their items for petty cash, there was a little lull in business. Trevor sat at the counter, flipping through a magazine until he heard the door chime.

"Afternoon, Welcome in. What can I- Oh it's you." He started his greeting before he even looked up, tone friendly at first. Although he was in the business of scaring poor suckers, he preferred to keep things pleasant whenever possible. But when he saw who had come in his tone faded into... something else. A cross between annoyance and amusement.

He was never sure what to expect when Daisy walked through his doors. She was smart. Too smart to fall for his weaponized incompetence, friendly "just doing his best" pawn shop owner act. The first time she came in she held her ground, demanded she get her money's worth on her items. He respected that. But he wished she would go somewhere else.

Until he discovered another thing about the girl. All the items she came in to sell were stolen. All it took was one unpleasant customer recognizing a gold watch as something he'd lost once in a hotel room to make the connection. So, they cut a deal. He wouldn't report her, and rather than paying her upfront- he'd give her a cut of the profits once he'd sold her items. Somehow, he'd managed a 50/50 split, even though he could tell she wanted more.

Trevor unlocked his cash register and pulled out a cash register, counting out the bills before he handed them to the girl. "That's 450, spend it wisely," he winked at her as he gave her the cash. "You got anything good for me today?"

Sora

After that night with Sora, you would think that Sulan would have crashed out and gone on a drug binge like she usually did when she didn't want to deal with feelings. Wrong. In fact Sulan did the opposite, she went on a tolerance break and started to focus harder on her studies. She was going to speed up her research as much as possible, graduate with her PhD and move far away from Vegas as she could manage so that Sora could never find her. She wanted to go home to her dad in Hokkaido, and even though they didn't get too deep into each other's personal background like that, she knew from his name that he obviously had connections back to Japan. So maybe not Hokkaido, but she had time to figure that out.

Right now though? She was sitting on a chair with her legs criss-crossed, with an over sized UNLV crewneck swear shirt, and sweatpants on to match. She had her glasses on and her tied neatly into a bun as she was glancing back and forth from her computer to a 3D model of a galaxy she was observing that had a black hole and two solar systems were being pulled to it. The model was to try and mimic what was happening to the surrounding solar system in comparison to those further away.

She wanted the model to be perfect so she had 3D printed it several times, making slight changes here and there. Her theory was that there was observable time travel caused by the black hole and the two solar systems near it because she was sure they were the same solar system just mirrored. It was a lot of guess work of course, as even with the super powerful images she acquired, they were millions of years old and not the clearest picture.

She was placing something into a slot when she heard her name causing her to jump as she was startled and dropped the piece on the floor. She cursed under her breath reaching for the piece while still sitting with her legs crossed in the chair, but her manicured nails fell just short.

She turned back to see who had called her and took a deep sigh. She uncrossed her legs and bent over to get the piece and examine it closely not looking back to Sora when she spoke,"We have nothing to talk about Sora. If it's about business, make an appointment with the department secretary and she'll see if I have free time."

Depression would creep up on Ari from time to time and this happened to be one of those times. She was not happy with how her life was developing she wasn't sure how much longer she could bury it. She was starting to give up on her dream of becoming big enough that she got paid to do what she loved and that's dress up, make and perform music, and just be happy. For now she tended bar at a club that had really shady things happening, just trying to bide her time until she could save up enough to hold her over until she had this baby.

The tips were good, really good, even if she had to endure touchy men --something she'd never tell Hayden or even Rob-- but for obvious reasons it wasn't her most favorite part of working. For now though, she was off work and in the car with Hayden who she wasn't sure what she'd call them at the moment. They messed around, but they weren't really together, together? Mainly because Ari was still waiting to find out who the father was, something she could have probably already done by now, but she kept kicking it down the road afraid of the answer.

So at the very least he was her maybe baby daddy, and that explained why she was in the car with him on the way to her house. She did her usual routine of trying to mitigate her extreme anxiety of car rides, by closing her eyes and having her headphones in to limit the sounds outside of the car, but though her headphones were noise canceling, she made sure to have them on transparent mode so she could hear Hayden when he needed to say something.

Everything was all good until she felt the car jerk forward violently, accompanied with a loud thump. She clutched the door with her manicured nails, tight enough that she broke one, but she was starting to hyper ventilate. Breathing heavy as she couldn't catch her breath, afraid to open her eyes. Afraid to see the damage that could have been. Even though she didn't hear nor see the crash, not in any serious way of course, she knew it happened and her trauma told her that it was only one way crashes ended up.

"Mom..mom....mor morr....mor mor....I need you...please don't please..."

Eventually the shuttle would stop and she would get off, looking around for the people she was supposed to hang out with. She spotted Genesis and waved at her, walking up to those who had already gathered,
"Mom..mom....mor morr....mor mor....I need you...please don't please...not again"
She wasn't sure if Hayden had said something, but if he did, she was too busy stuck to the door to hear.

theo blake
❛ viva las vegas ❜
Theo had been working her ass off, that was for damn sure, so when the opportunity presented itself for her to go on a date, she had decided to take it. Consequences be damned. But Theo hadn't been on a date in what felt like years.

Was she supposed to go on a date with someone her boss was doing business with? No. Was that going to stop her? No.

Levi had seemed hesitant about the whole thing but she wasn't about to let that stop her. He had even told her not to 'throw her life away' whatever that had meant.

But so far, Emiliano had sent a car for her with his credit card. She had immediately went to Prada (after Levi's suggestion) and bought a new dress. She sent Levi a picture and then headed towards the salon to get her hair and nails done. He had given her 3 hours to shop and she had accomplished the dress shopping in 1 so she decided to treat herself (on Emiliano's card of course) to a new haircut and refresh of her nails.

She had gotten her hair cut a few inches and then a blow out, then opted for a french tip for nails. After that, it was 6:45 so she got in the car to go to dinner. She arrived at 7:10, fashionably late, of course. She walked into the restaurant and scanned the crowd for the handsome man she was meeting. She was impressed that he had gotten a reservation at Lago.

Scottie Jean Clark often felt like she was in Groundhog's day with how her days went. Wake up, go to the gym to train, then go to work. This day was not any different. She hadn't had a big match in a few months and she was feening for one. Scottie was addicted to the entire process, the big hype, the build up, then the actual fight, itself.

Until then, Scottie had to busy herself by taking as many shifts as she could at the club. Scottie had been at work for a few hours when she saw a familiar face out in the crowd. It wasn't unusual for Scottie to see people she knew, but it was Sam. And Sam was quite frankly the last person she would expect to see in a strip club.

She raised her eyebrow at him and kept doing her routine, trying to focus her attention on the handsome man who was walking closer to her.

Emiliano Castillo
❛ Boss' Son ❜
Emiliano sat at the table looking at his phone. He looked only to see charges go on his card, one after the other. If anyone else saw the balance they would've been sweating by now,but he just nodded in acknowledgment. He knew she'd spend more than enough on his card, but he was never worried. Why give her something that would decline? Why work so hard if you don't have anyone to spoil in the end?

He placed his phone down in his pocket when he felt a gaze on him. Emiliano looked over and immediately got up to greet the beautiful woman. "Theo..long time no see" he told her as his left hand grazed over her waist and he leaned down to kiss her cheek. If he wasnt wise in the head there was a million other things he could've done, but that will have to wait. He then pulled her chair out while eyeing her body as she sat down.

When he sat down in his seat it was like his brown eyes couldn't be drawn anywhere else. "You look beautiful, I'm happy to know someone has gotten use of the card" he said.

God she looks appetizing. I must hold off.. at least until dinner is over. Yes, that's what I'll do. I think that will make sure I'm not just starstruck from her right?

"Hmm.. now that I think about it I haven't really seen you in months. How have you been? Running around like crazy I bet..probably would call for a drink to ease your mind?" He asked and suggested as he picked up the menu.

My fucking heart hurts.
There were other people that looked at him,but not anybody that mattered. There were whispers and talk about who he was and what a crazy fool he was being. An idiot at best- So fucking what? Even a man that was right next to Sulan glanced at her before speaking. "It looks like she doesn't want to talk to you. So you should just leave"

Sora's eyes darted and he rested his hands on his hips before a crooked laugh escaped. "Do I know you?" Sora asked while the man looked dumbfounded and stumbled to react. "No, right? So don't fucking speak to me" he exclaimed lowly and sighed after moment before his eyes could even turn back to Sulan.

"Sulan I'm not making an appointment to talk to you. This can't wait. I can either make this room a living hell for everyone in here or you can come out here with me for no more than 5 minutes." Sora told her while his voice bounced off the walls. He was serious and he wasn't backing down. There was no more waiting in his eyes because once he realized she was something he needed everything else didn't matter.

"Please.." he finally said with his voice cracking as he was sounding desperate- too desperate for his liking. Saying things like 'please' and 'I'm sorry' weren't easy for him and in the time he's gotten to know her those words were easier and easier to come out. He wasn't sure yet if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

Tobias stiffened slightly as he listened to Dai, nervous about what was ahead of them. She seemed nervous, upset- like she didn't mean him any harm. But then again, last time she was here she had a similar energy and he knew how he ended up after that visit.

Him being exhausted wasn't helping his mood either. Tobias felt like he needed to have all of his defenses up now, which took extra energy. This left him with hardly any energy to come across as welcoming or polite. He didn't want to hurt Dai, he really didn't. But more than anything, he didn't want to let himself get hurt.

"It's fine," he muttered coldly, not pushing back on her apology for showing up unannounced. She could have at least texted, but the time for that had passed, he wouldn't let himself get angry over something so pointless. He took a breath before nodding. "I'm swamped right now, but you can come in for a little bit." He immediately slipped into his business like persona, finding it was the easiest way to keep his guard up in this situation.

Tobias headed for his front door, opening it and letting Dai inside, following her in and closing the door behind them. "Take a seat," he gestured to the seats in front of his kitchen island. "Can I get you a water or anything?" Tobais remembered where the water ended up last time, but figured he'd still ask. It was only polite after all.

Thomas Brush

Reddington Meadow

There was a frantic knock at Stassi Perova’s front door.

After fumbling through the security code on the gate, her bookish friend had pelted up the sandy grounds and come to a skidding halt on her front step, out-of-breath and wild-eyed and bedeviled. He looked worse than usual… while it was typical for Oliver to be a little disheveled and agitated, but at the moment it appeared that he hadn’t slept, eaten, or showered in far too many days. One side of his face was bruised purple-green, from the ridge of his cheekbone all the way down to his jaw, and his fingers looked to have been bitten badly enough to nearly draw blood. He was breathing in ragged gasps, as if he’d just sprinted a mile to get here– and he had, in fact, sprinted far more than a mile to get here.

…He also had a desiccated vintage animatronic ninja turtle mask under his left arm.

And from the way he was rapidly tapping at his wrists and nearly bouncing up and down in anticipation, it was clear that he wasn’t going to explain any of that. The door had barely cracked open and the two had only just laid eyes on each other when Oliver could no longer contain the flood of words he’d been holding back for Lord knows how long, and they all spilled out at once:

“I found the buyer. They were in L.A and apparently they were out of the country so I was going to grab the bus and… did you know that to take the bus from out of state into California you need to have a valid I.D? My school I.D expired last month because I’m not a student anymore so they said I couldn’t get on the bus so I had to hitchhike with this guy in a brown van that smelled like cigarettes and fish and it was terrible because the whole way he was talking about how he doesn’t usually pick up crackheads, but I’m not a crackhead. I’m not. Just because I sell crack doesn’t mean I do crack, and i don’t even sell crack. I just distribute crack. But I didn’t say that because he might’ve maybe been a cop or D.E.A. or something. Speaking of cops, the LAPD might be after me because of this. I set off an alarm climbing back out through the wrong window, so I had to get back to Vegas by… well anyway, I need to get this to Sulan because if I don’t, Hadley’s going to throw a turtle and I can’t let Hadley throw a turtle.”

By the end of his stammering and entangled tirade, Oliver’s last burst of adrenaline had been completely burned away and he was left slumped against the doorpost, ashen and wheezing. When he spoke again, he barely had the air to be heard above a whisper.

“...Can I sit down?”
