Fantasy Virus: VRV

Katja had let Glaz go off by himself, walking slowly behind him as he advanced. So it really had been because of her sister. They most be close. Katja didn’t know why she wasn’t sprinting to the place her sister were staying, but for some reason she hesitated. She wanted to grab onto the girl and spin her around, and run away with her. Yet, she was also a bit wary of facing her after so long. She was practically looking like a walking savage covered in blood and guts.

So as they reached the gas-station she had simply walked to the window and slowly glanced inside. It had been quite the sweet reunion she witnessed. Her breath caught a little as she finally saw her sister, safe. She had grown since last time, but still looked like the Kit she knew.

She decided to wait. She wanted to get clean and met her properly tomorrow, even if she could barely wait. As they started treating the Russian she could hear his pained yells. He probably hadn’t mentioned her yet, since he didn’t know they were siblings.

She made her way toward a stream close by and splashed some water in her face.

Asher McMichael

Hyejeong seemed nice enough, until she asked Asher about his past. His skin crawled at the mention of his older group. Images of his past ran through his mind... Images he didn't want to see ever again. "I had a group. They're all dead." He said bluntly, not looking Hye in the face. He tried forgetting that he ever was in a group, but once in a while he would get moments like these that would force him to remember everything about the past. A past filled with tragedy and death that he somehow survived. He tried to change the subject quickly, as he didn't want to get deeper into how or why they died. "What... What about you? Were you with a group? " He said, this time looking at Hye, still very focused on the path they were taking. At this time of the day they could get robbed by anyone, especially in this part of the woods.

Hyejeong realised that she made a mistake. People actually may want to forget about their past. It was obvious in Asher's tone that he was hurt by what happened to his old group, whatever that was. But she was curious. 'Curiousity killed the cat' they used to say often. "I'm sorry...I had no idea." She said clearly nregreeting ever asking. At the mention of her old group she bit her down lip so strong it bled lightly. "Let's just say that the world is better without them..." That made her remember that the leader of the previous group, and her ex boyfriend, might still be alive looking for her. But she hoped he wasn't, or that even if he was alive he wouldn't find her. He used to torture zombies for a hobby even though Hye never realised what pleassure he would take from something like that. Of course that was nothing compared to what he did to the living that got in his way. The apocalypse had changed him so much, that Hye was wondering if he still was the same person and not some clone of some sort. One day she realised that what he and his group did was unacceptable and she couldn't take it anymore and asked him to break up. Of course he wouldn't let her, so she decided to act. From a certain point she lured walkers towards him, always discreetly, but the bastard always made it alive. Then she came with it. A trade with some local bandits. She gives them the group, they let her go. And so she did. At night the bandits surrounded the group while it was her watch and she left, hearing some shootings a little after. The weirdest part was that she didn't feel any regrets while doing what she did... The bandits were certainly better than her former group. "I just feel safer I don't see them anymore..." She said while looking arround noticing a rather large hollow in a nearby cedar tree. "Hey, look at this." she said pointing at it. "I think both of us fit."

Asher McMichael

"Let's just say that the world is better without them..."Asher was quite surprised how Hye had responded to his question. She seemed too "sweet" to answer like that, but maybe her group was really that bad. And who could blame her for thinking like that? Asher certainly wouldn't. But what Asher didn't like about what she said was how she felt "safer" without them. "You should never feel safer. Not nowadays." He quickly replied to her. "In this world someone will try to stop your path for survival. It doesn't matter if it's those infected monsters or crazy people who just want to watch the world burn." He said, with a quite serious tone. "Believe me, you should never feel safer." He wasn't trying to scare her or act tough, or anything like that. He was just telling her the truth and was being completely honest. They continued on their path for a bit, now with the night getting closer then ever. At this rate it seemed like they wouldn't be able to find a shelter in time before night fell, but Asher was stopped in his tracks by Hye.

"I think both of us fit." Hye said pointing at huge hollow in a cedar tree. His eyes opened wider then usual at the sight of the big "hole" in the tree. There was no other option, really. Night time was very close and wandering through the woods at night was completely crazy. "Better then nothing, I suppose." Asher stepped inside the tree to see the space it had. The insides of the tree were quite dark, but the darkness inside wasn't totally blinding. It was definitely big enough for the two survivors, and looked like a good place to avoid the cold wind of the night. He looked at Hye with a slight smile on his face. "Well, don't just stand there. Come on in. I don't suppose you're afraid of sleeping with bugs now are ya'?" Asher said jokingly, sitting down on the cold dirt floor.

Before they made it inside the tree Hye replied to Asher's advice. "Believe me, you would feel safer knowing they were dead or at least gone too. They have done horrible things, some of them unspeakable." Then when he made his way to the hollow and joked about the bugs she decided to play along. "Bugs are so ewy though, you have to dispose those things if you want me to sleep in there." Oh, how she wished the world was like that again... Being afraid of bugs and other things that seemed dummy, like being afraid of dogs. Now, these weren't important to anyone's eyes. Before steppin inside the hollow she picks some can coverings and other metal things from her backpack and some fishing line, which seemed used before, and set some noise traps at nearby treers in case of a zombie approaching. Safety comes first, she says often. Then once inside the hollow she placed her back to the 'tree wall' and looked threw her backpack finding a can of beans. "It's not great but it's enough... And tasty." She said as she placed it to the ground, closed her backpack and put it back on, her bat always next to her right hand. "Go ahead and serve yourself, sharing is caring." she exclaimed while she awaited for him to have some food.

Glaz dreamed in his slumber and it was an odd one to say the least. He was in a bed, the sheets clean and the room calm and as he lay there he felt a presence curl up next to him. Though he could not turn to see it, the presence felt familiar and inviting, and he moved his good arm around to embrace it, wanting to stay in this tedium of comfort.

Unknown to him, his movements in the dream caused him to unconsciously embrace Sky in his sleep, while still letting out soft breathes of sleep.

Asher McMichael

Asher gave away a slight laugh at Hye's remark about the tiny bugs. "Poor little fellows don't even see humans that much anymore. Let them have some fun." He replied still joking around. He was glad that Hye was smart enough to be equipped with some fishing line to make some good noise traps. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea tagging along with her, maybe this would work out just fine.

Asher was a bit distracted, looking out the hollow onto the sky that was turning darker and darker by the minute. In their area, the moaning of the zombies was finally gone and the sound of wind outside the tree was so relaxing to Asher. No screaming or gun shots... Just the peaceful sounds of nature. Finally, a moment of a peace. He was thinking over the crazy day he had, and how he once again survived another day. He looked at the gun that Katja gave him, before she went to fight the horde to save the soldier. He could only hope they were alive. He hid the gun in his backpack, as it had no bullets meaning it wouldn't be very useful. His thoughts were then interrupted by Hye, already inside the poorly lit hollow with Asher. She was kind enough to offer and share her food with Asher, but he couldn't accept it.
"I've got my own food..." He said, pointing over to his grey back he had placed on the floor. "But, thanks anyways." Asher gave her a smile, in sign of appreciation. He went inside his backpack to grab some of his own supplies, but instead of his canned food, he pulled out a bottle of water. He was hungry, but in his mind didn't have to waste his food yet. However, he couldn't afford to get dehydrated, so he drank some water from his bottle. "You might want to drink some water after eating those beans." He said, extending his arm with the water bottle in Hye's direction. "Those things do leave a weird aftertaste..." He smiled, hoping she would take the water bottle. He didn't usually share supplies, but he had to repay her kindness.

Sky felt Glaz slowly reach over and embrace her. Her body tensed slightly, before she calmly sighed. Breathing in his scent, while it wasn't as pleasant as it might have been before the world went to shit, it wasn't terrible. Comforting almost.

She looks to Erza. "He saved me. I was drowning, and he dived in just to save me. He lost his hand because of me, to let me live. I hope he gets better, soon." She spoke softly, looking at the girl with her chin on Glaz's shoulder. She breathed softly, not wanting to wake up with her hot breath on his skin.

She curls up closer to him. "I'm never leaving you to do anything by yourself, ever again. You're stuck with me now, mister." She spoke softly in his ear, her voice gentle and sweet.

Glaz suddenly saw the dream bedroom begin to change slowly shifting from a clean and calm bedroom to a familiar looking reststop, he turned to see the presence soon morph into Skyla! He was shocked for a bit but he noticed the peace of the moment remained and he accepted it, "Skyla?' he murmered, still a little weak.

The teenage girl nearly jumped out of her skin. She turns at Glaz with huge eyes filled with shock. Her cheeks flush pink, and she carefully scoots away to give him room. "Y-You're alive.. I thought you were gonna die. We thought you were dead.." She talks erratically, nearly one hundred miles per hour. "I was so worried!" She snaps suddenly. "You could have been killed, or hurt worse than this! Damn you!" She cries and quickly outs her face in her hands. "Don't you ever do that again... please." She whispers as he wipes her damp eyes quickly. @Blarg222

The time seemed to drift bye; quicker than he could tell. One plank after another, one object against the door, the cycle repeated until he felt the station was secure, now that point had arrived; Now night was upon them. The dark skies were perilous to groups, and whilst advantageous to somebody like David, who traveled alone. The chances of them getting more than a few miles were near impossible in the darkness, he had a bad leg. The Russian was still fighting a battle to live, Skye was emotionally exhausted, and the newcomer... Well, David didn't rely on anybody, but he didn't expect, nor want her aid. Yet in the end, she was the reason the soldier lived.

"We need rest. Unnecessary exhaustion will get us killed." David spoke, whilst addressing the new girl too, he was staring at Skyla. His eyes telling her she needed to rest - now. "Your friend will live, but he needs to rest - maybe for several days. I need you to be ready to help keep us all alive tomorrow. To do that, you need to be fresh, get some sleep whilst you can." He hated groups... Ever since the incident, he always had... But now, he was forced into the same position; the de-facto leader. More responsibility, more difficulty, more risk, and more mouth to feed. Oh it was easier surviving alone. Alas, he was too far gone, now stuck here until the worst comes. David only hoped he could stop that day for as long as possible... But if they were to survive, they needed to listen to him.

"Ezra, the same goes for you. Get some rest, sleep. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow. I'll take first watch." Of course, the man didn't expect to actually sleep. He'd had far more experience surviving on a sleepless night, since he often slept during the day. He could function reasonably well without rest for now. But the group desperately needed it.

Ezra Was So Tired Right At That Moment. After The Anti Depression Pills And Just Being Up For 2 Days Without Sleep She Probably Really Needed The Sleep. She Got In A Comfy Pose In Her Chair And Start To Doze Off.

She Had A Dream About How Her Sister Got Torn From Her Hands From One Of Those Junkies. She Also Saw How Her Brother Ran Away And Didn't Even Try To Help. She Never Knew What Happened To Her brother Maybe he's Still Alive Or One Of Those Junkies Or Maybe Even Worse. Maybe If Ezra Wasn't Such A Scared Girl She Might Have Saved Her Sister. But The Past Is The Past.

(Even More Story Line... YAY)

Skyla shifted uncomfortably as David indirectly a dressed her need for sleep. Yet she simply nodded briskly. She wasn't about to complain, or even remotely try to disobey him, he was far older and more experienced than her.

She slowly took off her sweater, bundling it into a messy, make-shift pillow, before slowly laying down. She laced beside Glaz still, not as close, yet not far. Arms length. She shudders softly, as her bare arms press against the cold marble floors. The floor smelt faintly of lemon cleaner, and plastic. She turns her back to Glaz, not wanting to bother the older man, as David has said. He needed his rest.

Time skip; 72 hours later.

It's about 8:30AM, 14°F.

Three feet of snow has now blanketed the state, possibly worse the more you head north. The freezing temperatures have slowed Biters, making them barely a threat, to none at all.

Yet they can still bite, as they are freezing. Until you are sure a zombie is totally frozen, may you approach. They are very easy to kill in this state.

Keep in mind, zombies in buildings have not been in the harsh temperatures, so they reaming thaw and incredibly dangerous. Remain cautious.

Hye shrugged. "More perfection for me then." she said clearly joking. After eating about half of the can and not hngry anymore she accepted her partner's bottle since she didn't have any water and she couldn't risk getting dehydrated but she only had a few sips before closing the bottle and giving it back. "Thanks, Asher, I do appreciate it." Hye didn't manage to remain awake for much longer due to all the running and bashing she did that day. She was inhaling and exhaling slowly while her cheeks had a light pink colour due to her face not being civered from the harsh temperature. The rest of her body wasn't cold though since she was dressed enough for that weather.

<Three Days Later>

Hye was catching up behind Asher as she was tieing her shoes. "Okie dokie. Now I'm feeling right." She exclaimed not having to worry about the zombies at least for a while. It's been days since they had seen any either way. After a little bit of walking Hye noticed some sort of a building outside the forest. She wasn't sure about what it was though. She poked Asher's right shoulder and pointed at the said building's direction. "Could that be the gas station you've talked about? I mean we don't lose anything to check it out." She said wanting to check it out.

Hunter had been walking for what felt like hours, but in reality had only been a few minutes. The three foot deep snow drifts didn't make for very easy footing but she was lucky that the tiny cabin, which was actually more like a tool shed, she had learned to call 'home' for the time being, wasn't far. She could spot it, just a few feet away.

She was slow though. The below freezing temperatures and harsh wind were making survival that much harder, and working alone didn't help much either. The few people she had met since VRV took over hadn't lasted long - hell, Hunt was surprised even she had lasted this long. Things had been hell over the last weeks, which would soon become months, and Hunter was sick of fighting. There were days when she wanted to trudge into town and just stand there, hoping that a Biter would get her or she would put the barrell of her pistol to her head, ready to pull the trigger. No matter what though, she'd always chicken out. It wasn't necessarily that she was afraid of death, more that she was afraid of what wouldn't happen if she wasn't around. She was the person always looking at the what ifs, the possibilities.

She finally reached the cabin and pulled the little wooden door open with shaking hands. She slipped inside, glad to be away from the bone chilling weather. She shut the door behind her and almost screamed at the sight before. Somehow, some way, a biter had gotten in. They had been slow the past few days, due to the temperature, but that didn't mean they weren't still around.

Hunt's still shaking hands fumbled for her gun at her side. Lifting the pistol, she aimed to the head of the monster. She pulled she trigger, almost forgetting to brace herself for the kick back. Brain matter splattered against the back of the wall, blood dripping for the hole in the Biter's head. It was obvious she could no londer stay here. She'd have to stay in town for the time being, until she could find a more secluded, permanent place.

Hunter gathered her things and prepared herself to head back out. She trudged back into the drifts, thankful town wasn't far.

Asher McMichael

Asher was glad she accepted his water bottle, the next couple of days would be really tough on both of them and they need every last bit of their strength. Hye returned the water bottle, and Asher quickly put it away back in his grey back pack. As soon as he finished and turned to face the young girl once again, she had already fallen asleep. Asher smiled at the sight of the sleeping woman. Hye looked so much more fragile and docile in her sleep compared to when she was awake smashing infected heads in, it was quite funny to Asher. He was thankful she was able to get some sleep, because he certainly didn't. He didn't sleep at all that night. Maybe it was because there was a stranger sleeping next to him, or maybe because of the monsters out in the wild waiting to eat him and his new companion. But he couldn't sleep and he didn't really want to. He preferred staying awake, looking at the bright stars in the sky, just waiting for the sun to rise once again so he could continue this journey for his inevitable death.

--TIME SKIP--

It had been three days since Asher met Hye back in the forest. They had been getting along just fine, better then Asher had ever expected. However, their sweet "adventure" wasn't going as planned. Due to the huge amounts of snow in the last couple of days, they had to change their route to the nearest town, having to go around the whole forest because all of the paths they were supposed to take were completely blocked and too dangerous. This took longer then expected. Luckily for them, with this cold the dead had slowed down, but that didn't mean safety. Supplies were now very, very few and the cold would be unbearable if they continued to travel.

Asher, even with his warm leather jacket and gloves, was starting to feel the cold.
"We must be close to civilization now..." He said to Hye as his breath turned to smoke as it came out from his mouth. Asher was stopped by Hye who had poked him and was now pointing towards a building in the distance. The gas station! He had been talking about it for a while. It was his way of knowing how close the next town was, and it looked like they were closer then ever. Hye suggested they should check it out and scavenge anything left out of it. There was no reason why Asher would disapprove this suggestion, they need some food and water fast, and maybe they could be lucky enough to find some inside. "Alright, but we approach it with caution." He said with a serious tone. "We don't know who, or what, might be inside." Asher started walking towards the gas station, hoping Hye would follow behind carefully. "Before we go in, we have to make sure it's empty from the outside. We'll enter through the back quietly, get what we can and leave through the back." He said, almost sounding like a commander ordering his soldiers. He had now lowered himself, almost crouching down, so he wouldn't get spotted by anyone who could be inside the gas station. The snow would help him out a bit too with hiding. Without making a noise, he raised his arm signalling for Hye to do the same. Asher couldn't fight at all, but that didn't mean he was stupid when it came to tactical approaches. In fact, that was probably his specialty when it came to survival.

-Time Skip-

Ezra At The Time Was Asleep Well Trying To Sleep. Every Few Minutes She Would Would Wake Up Sweating And Freaking Out Because She Kept Having A Nightmare (From My Last Post). But This Time She Had A Good Dream. This Dream She Was In Her House With Her Sister And Brother. In Her Dream She Was Just Sitting And Having A Talk With Them. I-I Mean It's Not The Best Dream But It Was Okay, A Change From Her Old Dream

Ezra Woke Up In Her Facing A Wall With Her Fluffy Coat Over Her. But Something Didn't Fell Right. She Looked Out The Window To See Something Move By.
Probably A junkie She Thought As She Walked Away. She Grabbed Her Bat And Took A Look Outside. "Yeah Probably A Junkie."

Allie hurried out beside Erza, after having not stayed watch that night so she wasn't too tired. "See anything?" She was stronger now, and much more willing to kill. Her bruised face was nearly healed, only a dark mark on half her cheek remains. She carries her gun in her grip as she looks around. The front of the building was sheltered from the snow. She looks for tracks before smiling mischievously. She tucked the gun into her belt before scooping up the freezing snow in her hands. "Hey, Erza!" She yelps, before throwing the snow ball straight into the girls chest with a joyous laugh.

@Blue Fire @Archon

Hye was glad that they finally found somethig that they would check out the gas station. Besides any supplies would be perfect since their's were running out. Hye listened to the plan carefully and nodded. She decided to do the same as Asher and follow his movements while holding tight her bat. Taking glances at the station she noticed some sort of a shadow and whispered to her partner. "Hey, check it out. There probably are rottenskins inside." She said as she kept looking at the figure. "I suggest we split up once there and check the perimetre before entering, what do you say?" That wasn't good. After all these days and they had to meet up with more corpses. There also was the danger any supply being destroyed by those walking dummys... Or perhaps there were people inside? No... That couldn't be. That could mean their death. Pushing aside those thoughts, she kept walking awaiting for her partner's orders.

"Hey What Was That For." Ezra Barked At Skyla. "This Is How You Throw A Snowball" She Said Throwing A Snowball At Her Face. She Hadn't Had A Snowball Fight In Forever. "But To Answer Your Question, I Think I Saw A Junkie But I'm Not Sure." Her Mind Had Been Playing Tricks On Her For Awhile So She Wasn't Sure.

@Cyber Wolf

Skyla gasped as the snowball burned at her flushed cheeks. "Asshat." She teases, brushing the snow off her sweater quickly. She looks around. "Let's go get us a biter." She winks. "He has to be around her somewhere. So let's clear the area, before we leave." She scoots closer to Erza, "David and Glaz are still a little weak, don't tell them that though. Unless you wanna get chewed out." She shrugs.

She carefully walks along the side of the building, her gun tucked securely on her hip. She looks to her right, and a plank of wood is sitting against the wall, several thick, elongated nails stuck out at the end. "Score." She mutters, pulling the cold plank out the snow. A shrill cry makes her lurch back, a crow darts past her, and hurries into the sky for safety.

"Bastard." She growls softly.

She turns around the back, and a Biter scrambles toward her, slowly, as frost slows it down. Skyla laughs, "Hey Erza, I found your Biter!" She bites her lip, waiting until the Biter was an arms length away. Then with a mighty swing, she slams the wood against its head, the nails lodge deeply into its skull. "Woo! Hey! I bet there are more of these frozen fucks around her! Bet I can kill more!" She shouts. It wasn't as dangerous to be out and about as it was during the thawing seasons. Yet this was just the beginning of winter. Thankfully.

Suddenly, she sees two shadows. Not Biters. People. "Fuck." She tries to pull the nails of the the biter's skull, yet she had hit him so hard that the prank was half way lodged into its skull. "Shit. Shit. Shit!" She growls as she struggles to release the weapon, the shadows getting larger.

Ezra Couldn't Wait Any Longer. The Humans Were The Dangerous People Right Now. So She Had To Take Action Now Or Never. So She Did, She Placed Her Boot On The Dead Junkies Chest And Kicked It Right Off The Nail. She Pulled Skyla To A Edge Of The Back Wall With Her. "Now Skyla We Can't Go In Head First, Were Going Have To Do It Stealthy Okay." Ezra Peered Her Head The Wall. She Hoped They Thought Skyla And Her Were Junkies. "Now Were Going To either Going Have To Bait Them Or Stick Together And Over power Them, Your Choice."

Skyla sighed, she wished David or Gaz was here to direct her, instead of sleeping. "We can't kill them, Erza. What if they are good? I say we over power them." Skyla slowly pulls out her pistol, when she sees something shift in the forest in front of them. "E-erza.." She says quietly. A rabbit dashes for them, and Skyla breaths a sigh of relief. When suddenly, five massive dogs lurched out of the foresty. These weren't normal dogs. Bits of flesh were missing around their muzzles, showing off their fangs permanently. Bones showed through their rotting skin, and their eyes were a hazy, glazed over blue. "Oh. My god.." She whispers, her hands trembling as she watches the rotting canines stumble in the snow, they hadn't noticed Skyla or Erza yet. "W-what do we do?"
