Neckros nodded back at Kharia. "Neckros," he replied simply. "Not the name I received at birth of course, that name is a true secret, to tell you would be to give you power over me. I don't even remember it, I cast it off when I sacrificed my parents to the dread god for access to my magic." A part of him, a very small part but a part nonetheless, felt a little bad, this girl seemed to be warming up to him and believing him to be a person she could trust, and now he was informing her that he got where he was through patricide and matricide. A slightly larger part of him was upset that he hadn't attempted to deceive her as to his true nature for a longer period of time. But Neckros' master had always taught him that heroes succeeded because they could trust each other. And if you were an inherently self-serving individual, such as most necromancers are, then the best way to earn trust is to make it perfectly clear to your potential allies that they have no reason whatsoever to trust you. And the more on her guard Kharia was with him, the less likely he would be to betray her for no good reason, the more likely he would be to respect her, and the more likely he'd be to forewarn her if the need to betray her came up.
