    Appearance: Kendra stands at approximately 5'09", 137 lbs. She has lean features and a very pale complexion. Her hair is onyx black, and is usually cut to just below her ears with both form and function in mind. Over-saturation of infernal magic has permanently damaged her vision, leaving her with irises that are stained purple with emytherium poisoning. She wears a pair of specialized wide-rimmed corrective glasses that help with the emytherium clouding, and is rarely seen without them on. Permanent bags have begun to form under her eyes as a result of the stresses of guild management. She tends to dress professionally in most situations, with a preference towards blazers and suit pants over dresses and skirts.

    Persona: Kendra is a natural born leader. She is charismatic, a skillful negotiator, and witty with her grim sense of humor. She can easily maintain composure in crisis situations, and is comfortable handing down orders regardless of rain or shine. Kendra would never ask any of her subordinates to do anything she wouldn't do herself, and thus tends to lead by example when applicable. Her tact and efficiency make her an excellent guild leader, but her closest friends and family would say that she is married to her work. Besides her daily morning coffee at 5 A.M., she never allows a moment for herself. Some rumor that Kendra is romantically inept -- embarrassingly so.

Cressida, better known as Cress, comes from a long line of demonic beings known by various names throughout human history and across cultures, best captured by the Ancient Greek mythos' Erinyes, better known as the Furies. Although capable of being as frightening as their moniker implies, Furies are inherently creatures of vengeance. Though their justice can often seem extreme and their punishments heavy-handed, they are not typically inherently malicious. Back in Hell, they tended to serve as peacekeepers - as much as was possible among the infighting and barbarism, anyway - in charge of mediating conflicts where possible and ensuring that the abuse of power did not go unanswered.

Physically, Furies have varied appearances. All resemble female humanoids, though they may possess the heads and/or limbs of animals, in addition to extra appendages such as wings or tails. They can also resemble gorgons of Greek mythos and indeed were the originators of such myths. Almost all fully-grown Furies are 'crones', e.g. they resemble old women. Furies, being typically around the greater demon mark, tend to live for up to two hundred years. Very few are elaborate magicians; Fury magic is almost exclusively about the altering of the self (e.g. buffs, etc) although they also have a knack for infernal deception magic that is used to scare and/or frighten their victims. Despite being non-malicous, they tend to be sadistic in dealing with their targets, as a child might play with their food.

They can breed via individuals of any sex, and in theory of any species, and are one of the most likely demon breeds to produce half-demon offspring; Fury mating occurs through a rite known as the Baptism of Vengeance, in which the two (or more) individuals join in a mass killing of people deemed deserving of punishment, among other, more secret Mysteries. However, known attempts of Fury/Human reproduction have only resulted in offspring that cannot survive into adulthood, due to the strain Fury magic puts on the physical body, which human physiology is incapable of bearing.


[div class=fyuri04headerleft]The Present[/div]
[div class=fyuri04boxleft]Cress is considered the equivalent of a human young adult in terms of a Fury's lifespan, at age 62. She is a Subjugated Vengeance Demon; this allows her to still use the 'buff' magic native to her species, but severely limits her use of deception magic and any chance of employing actively offensive magic. Her Mark is located on the back of her neck. Otherwise, she has a fairly non-threatening appearance; light glamour magic renders her as a dark-skinned woman of six feet and two inches, with short, bobbed black hair. Her facial features are not particularly attractive, with a very long face and nose, and heavy, hooded eyes. The most distinct part of her glamoured appearance, other than the MoS, is her musculature, which reflects her role within the Guild. When in combat, the glamour drops. Her 'natural' appearance is not dissimilar, except she has the physical appearance of a human crone, scale-speckled skin up her forearms and ankles, and eyes resembling a tiger's.

Cress is a cross between the 'tank' (main) and 'dps' (secondary) archetypes in terms of her role in fighting demons. Buff magic allows her to endure large quantities of damage, and although she cannot use attacks as devastating as magicians employing Wrath and Plague magic/offensive standard magic, said buffs allow for amplified physical capabilities. All magic she uses aside from glamour and the occasional spot of deception magic is solely self-affecting. These allow for enormous stamina and increased strength in combat, but also cause massive drain on the body. If she goes 'all out', she requires three days minimum before doing so again, in order to avoid risking permanent damage to her body. Her magic falls into the 'Wrath' category. Most vulnerable to ranged attacks (as all of her own are close-range) Cress's partnership with [ CerpinTaxt CerpinTaxt 's character ] helps to cover this weak point. Since she relies on her physical ability for attack and defense, any injuries she suffers majorly impacts both of those areas.

Utilising melee weapons exclusively, Cress is a two-handed fighter, using a gigantic war-axe that has truesilver blades, but a body that she can touch without risk to her person. Her only ranged ability is with throwing axes, of which she always carries one strapped to her, but this is a last resort. She is capable of operating in a sword-and-shield manner, but does not favor it and possesses no truesilver equipment for it. Her 'specialty' areas in dealing with certain types of demons focuses on those who are more physical; those that operate through nebulous, ethereal means are something she is essentially incapable of combating.

[div class=fyuri04boxright]Cress was raised in a 'coven' of Furies, as is typical of the species now on Earth (as it was in Hell). This meant that she grew up in isolation from a lot of human society, and only gained exposure to them in the last decade or so. Her species' nature proved a difficult match to the new human-demon integration, as human laws of justice differed greatly from her own people's traditional views, which forms the primary basis for why they continue to distance themselves from full integration, along with their cultural traditions from back in Hell. Wanting to defy this constraints and prove that her people were capable of successful integration, Cress left the safety of her coven eight years ago. Though she managed to keep her instincts at bay for a few years, she eventually happened upon an individual whom she felt called to act in vengeance for ( CerpinTaxt CerpinTaxt 's character). He never asked her to do this, and upon finding out what she had done, branded her with the Mark of Subjugation. In hope of one day having said mark removed, Cress has stuck with him ever since, following him to Vexpara. Her feelings around this mark are ambivalent; though she resents the restrictions it places on her, she is grateful as well for how it enables her to exist in this new world without facing being hunted like the demons she pursues. She still struggles with human ideals of justice and their many variants, and thus the structure the guild provides gives her a sense of stability and guidance which she is ultimately grateful for.

Bindings of Omu: Commanding the runic chains, Connor attempts to bind the demons limbs and prevent it from moving. Whether that be by tying itself into intricate knots or plunging into the earth, once the incantation has been spoken the chains seem to have a life of their own and will do as they must to succeed. Short incantation.
Iknea's Strength: A medium length incantation that orders the chains to wrap around an ally, acting as a second layer of armor. The chains even go as far as to redirect lesser blows, such as a lash from a tail or a weak spell.
Urserian's Wrath: His runic chains lash out, once more seeking to bind themselves to the demon. This time, however, they do not seek to bind and inhibit the movement of the demon. Not in a peaceful manner, at least. The chains will try to maim and even kill the demon. Wrapping around it's throat and suffocating it, breaking bones, dislocating and even ripping off limbs. The incantation for this spell is seemingly endless, though after a while it becomes apparent that only the first few words are unique before a phrase is repeated over and over again.
Banishment: Usually used once the demon is sealed in a Casket, whether it be his own or another one, this incantation does just as it implies. In a blinding flash of light, the contents of the Casket appear to simply vanish. The only evidence of them being an after image burnt into the interior of the Casket. The demon can be re-summoned via the after image, for use in a trial, but more often than not these Caskets are sealed away in a place that serves as a prison of demons deemed to 'unruly' for Marking. Long incantation time.
Weaknesses: Connor, though capable in the fight, is not meant to be the main source of damage. Neither does he want the attention of the demon he is trying to bind. It doesn't help that, occasionally, the demonic magics coursing through him will remind him that it is, indeed, demonic in nature. All of his spells require an incantation, some longer than others. His spells are useless and fizzle out if the incantation is interrupted or spoken incorrectly.
Equipment: A pine casket and runic chains are his primary equipment, though he does have a true silver club to back him up.
Guild Status: Augur.

    Appearance: A lean man with a mild complexion standing at 5'10", Holden weighs in at a solid 163lbs. His dark robes hide the hardened body of a harshly trained, battle tested Priest. He has a thick mop of short cropped brown hair atop his head, and bright amber eyes behind solid rimmed glasses that light his stoic but young face. A very clean individual, Holden is rarely seen out of his priest robes but is no stranger to the occasional lounging wear of sweatpants and a t-shirt.

    Persona:
    First and foremost he is a man of Faith and puts God before everything. This sometimes comes off as pious arrogance to others but he is a Vatican Priest, not a pastor. He believes his purpose is in the hunt, not spreading the Word, the world seems to be past that point now. Holden is no machine though and has no problems getting along with almost anyone. He's steady, focused, precise, and straight to the point in almost all situations. His demeanor changed drastically when his bloodlust overtakes him in using the Infernal Magics but his sedatives and team help keep that in check.

Bancroft holds an intimidating demeanor with some scars and stitches from previous encounters. He has black wavyish hair with piercing, blue eyes and Celtic-styled tattoos covering his arms, chest, and shoulders. He has a great build in his arms and legs due to his kickboxing training, and he also has quite the abs from the core concentration of the art. Bancroft prefers to wear military styled clothing due to its thickness in providing protection against physical attacks and exposure from the natural elements.

  • Amplified Impact: Upon physical contact with his target, Bancroft can amplify the impact in his hits. This standard form of magic only works better through his body so kicks, punches, and throwing objects. This means that he cannot strengthen the power and/or impact of say a bullet or electricity from his taser gun. He also cannot use this ability to quicken his speed or strength his jump. All that this ability does is increase the area in which his fists and/or feet make contact with. With humans this can stimulate greater pain to the body and as for demons it simply increases the area of damage.

Persona:
Bancroft isn't much of a leader and would rather follow after others and wait to take orders. This can limit him in his motivation to continue a task if he is by himself. But once he is assigned to a task he will see it to the end, no matter the impossibilities and/or difficulties.
While he may be built and fit he isn't the most agile or swiftest of individuals. So he'd be much better as someone to endure hits and deal his own.
Bancroft can be impulsive and blinded by emotions at times, especially when his vulnerabilities are showing. He works hard to be that reassuring figure to everyone, a figure who is strong, brave, and dependable. Never does the man wish for his comrades and loved ones to see him at his worst or to think of him as pathetic.
He often keeps to himself and to the sidelines for most situations. Bancroft will not step into a setting until he feels as though he needs to or someone asks him to. His belief is that the parties of the circumstance should work through the problem, unless the severity of it requires assistance. Bancroft sees conflict as an opportunity for growth and development, so unless he is an original party to the situation, he would prefer to stay away.

Casual Appearance: Jun is a tall black haired, seasoned Korean man. Often seen dressed in his classic attire consisting of a gray or white button up shirt, loosely tied on black tie, a black button up vest, black pants, and a black trench coat. His hands are coarse and rough from the time spent honing his skills to his level of mastery. He does not bear any scars from past battles. Instead his only external markings consist of a red tattoo in the shape of an ornate cross on right hand, which coincidentally is also his shooting hand.

Combat Appearance: When dressed up for combat in urban areas, Jun will usually just suit up in his usual clothes, but replace the black casual vest for a bulletproof vest and a tactical utility belt. His attire changes entire for operations outdoors, wearing camouflaged clothing matching the color scheme of the operation area.

Persona: Jun is a quiet man with a number of years of work in the guild beneath his belt. His overall demeanor is serious and to the point. Preferring to discuss things professionally rather than bother with stuff that does not relate to whatever mission is at hand. He rarely likes to talk about his experiences other than when prompted, but this is more prompted by the fact that there are memories he wants to suppress and would rather not reflect upon, especially memories regarding his last operation before quitting the 707th. Besides this key element of his personality is his patience, a trait that did not come naturally but rather developed over years of working in the field. He is willing to wait for the perfect opportunity and will not miss when he gets his chance, this patience also makes him incredibly cooperative with whatever team he works with, making him a valuable asset to whatever squad he's assigned to.​

Skill: Like all Cranes, Jun excels at ranged combat, being an accomplished marksman from his days before joining Vexpara. He has an incredibly keen sense of detail with very well rounded observational skills, preferring to stay in the back lines and keep a steady watch over his allies. He uses speed augmented by Infernal Magic to transition from position to position, making him a very hard target to catch.

Weaknesses: Any enemy capable of bridging the distances he positions himself quickly or catching him off guard between re-positions has a distinct advantage at close range, because Jun's hand to hand combat and close range effectiveness are questionable. While he equips himself weapons and gadgets to counter these advances such as Flash Grenades and closer range Truesilver weaponry, they are weapons designed mostly for distraction and to impair enemies rather than completely incapacitate them.

History: Before joining Vexpara, Jun served in the South Korean Military as a Dedicated Marksman in the Korean Special Forces unit known as the 707th SMB. Their job was to primarily serve as a counter terrorist organization and special response team for the Korean Government. Part of this job of course was to respond to any domestic demon threats, and Jun was proven time and time again to be an exceptional demon hunter, with he and his team resolving several crises over his 6 and a half years of service. Following this time he decided that his skills were worth some other organizations time after some incidents with higher ups in the 707th, deciding that he would become a career Demon Hunter instead of remaining some military lackey, after he was forced to make decisions that he could not agree with. Being forced to leave after an honorable discharge, that is when he came upon Vexpara after some digging around.

His distinguished career in the 707th proved to be a good enough resume for many guilds to accept him with open arms. However, Jun was drawn to Vexpara like a moth to a flame, more intrigued in them than the rest. While he had a rough start like any other newbie, he took on the role of being a Crane masterfully, providing excellent support from afar and up close in whatever operation he is assigned. Since joining, Jun has shown himself to be valuable asset to the corps and continues to do so both through his skill in hunting down demons and his experience brushing off upon others around him.

    Appearance: Arslan stands 6 feet and 1 inch and varies between muscular and bulky depending on how much alcohol and fast food he has on any given month. He hates ties, but usually wears a suit and a colored collar shirt, leaving the top buttons unprofessionally open. He doesn't focus much on his appearance, and guild members joke about his wasted face, ruined by a short hairdo and the wardrobe of a low grade mob boss.
    Persona: Recklessness is the defining characteristic of Arslan's personality. He's an adrenaline junky with a need for speed, who is depressed unless he's "in the game". Further, he's prey to magical thinking and always thinks he can get away with whatever he is doing. Arslan needs to be "on" all the time and constantly wants everyone to "cut to the chase". Three traits make him an excellent salesman and recruiter: his silver tongue, quick mind, and persistence. Arslan has spent 8 years of his life in the legal "gray zone", first being a "bank" for opioid smugglers and next, fundraising for a vigilante organization. Because of this, he plays fast and loose with the rules. That said, his conviction in his fight against demonkind is genuine, motivated by revenge and that he has dedicated years of his life to the profession.
    Arslan is a heavy drinker, and will usually go through half a bottle of hard liquor a day. He denies that he's an alcoholic, and can go without a drink with only a mild headache. He is almost certainly addicted to caffeine and has containers of pills with him on mission to avoid withdrawal. Some have called him bipolar before, but Arslan denies the existence of mental illness and self-medicates by throwing himself in dangerous and risky situations. He is usually the life of the party and is friendly, but somewhat fake. Most of his conversations are safe and shallow, and his friends in the guild joke that he doesn't have the intellectual bandwidth to understand deep topics. In reality, Arslan might have the bandwidth, but chooses not to use it - living hard and fast to avoid having to think about his life, and to allow fear, doubt, and uncertainty to seep in.

A grey peacoat and dark gloves, a pair of dark trousers and boots are his usual attire, sometimes accompanied by a jeep cap. He's rather frail looking, becoming more obvious during longer missions.

    Persona: Robyn is rarely seen without a smile, trying his best to life the mood and be the kind soul of the group. He has no intention of letting his illnesses get the better of him, always trying to outdo himself. He even has refused help from others, seeing it as pity because of how he was born. Prideful, wise-cracking, and a huge fan of sweet or spicy food. He's very attached to his firearms, and has even scolded other members for the treatment of their own weapons. "The tool isn't the issue, it's your inability to truly utilize it."

Being raised on the premises of his father's remote ranch down in Texas, Austin had an uneasy and lonely childhood to say the least. Granted, his father loved him, but the taxing farmhand life didn't make much room for family time, to say the least.
Aside from the cattle they had to take care of on a daily basis, Austin did have one peculiar acquaintance. In the dark hours of the night, the estranged child would occasionally hear eerie whispers and spot faint shadows from the corner of his eyes during the hours of midnight, when he was most vulnerable.
The result was a crippling fear from the mere mention of demons and demonic activity of any kind. It didn't help one bit being in the middle of nowhere, as that seemed like a perfect place for such events to take place.
However one day, hiding in a closet and in a fit of terror, the young Austin had decided that he'd be a prisoner to his fears no more, and that he's gonna find a way to rid his home from the lingering terrors of the shadows once and for all, no matter the cost.
Immediately he'd engross himself in studies on demons and how to combat them whenever he wasn't busy helping his father out on the farm, eventually finding himself intensively training to be a demon hunter of sorts, his resolve fueled by his hatred towards his troubled childhood.
Standing at 6'2", Austin's got a lean build from his history as a farmhand. He chooses to dress in a simple and plain manner, most often than not a shirt and a pair of jeans, accompanied by some work boots.

Personality:

The way he acts has always been affected by the environment that surrounded him, as for one he tends to speak with a slight southern accent.
He's also been taught to hold great respect for his elders/superiors, accustomed to calling them things such as Sir or Ma'am even when told otherwise.
Being in a remote location since childhood, Austin's not so keen on starting conversations since he was a bit lacking in that department growing up, but he'll still try to hold up his own side of the conversation regardless.
Austin's also pretty pragmatic at times, but that only stems from the desire to accomplish tasks as efficiently as possible, in turn stemming from his life working on the farmland. Other than that he's got a short-fuse, and he can be very arrogant and headstrong when angry, reminiscent of the ranch's bulls.
Skills: Austin was able to find an affinity for Gate magic during his time training, explained through having a prolonged exposure to demonic forces, although his ability to use such magic is not grand by any means. It boils down to being able to utilize the more basic forms of the magic, as well as an inability to hold the gates open for more than mere moments.
Weaknesses: Fear of cramped places thanks to the moments of terror he spent holed up in his closet, which is ironically similar to his weapon of choice.
Also the inability to take part in ranged combat due to the equipment at hand.
Speaking of the equipment at hand, it's naturally heavy, limiting Austin's agility greatly.
Equipment: A solid wooden casket reinforced with steel, containing truesilver spikes on the inside, mimicking the famed "Iron Maiden" torture device.
Aside from being an excruciating method to deal with demons, Austin also uses the whole thing as a battering ram of sorts, smashing it into his enemies or even throwing the whole thing at them for desperate measures, using the gate magic to recall it.

    Appearance: Irma has a relatively petite frame, standing at only 5’3” and weighing 120 lbs. While she is athletic she’s not incredibly toned and the majority of her height comes from her long legs on account of her torso being rather short though not without a distinct hourglass shape.

    With a heritage that stems from France, she is easily marked as caucasian though she maintains a healthy skin tone despite the fact that it’s evident that she doesn’t spend much time in the sun. The most distinguishable marks on her generally unmarked skin are the scars around her right eye. Not only did her iris become discolored after a violent attack when she was young, going from a brilliant blue to a rather ill shade of yellow, but that side of her face was also left somewhat disfigured. The scars that surround her right eye reach past her hairline and around her right ear, also leaving her right ear marred. Also contributed to the same events that lead to her facial scarring, the palms of her hands have distinct scarring.

    Her hair is a relatively pale shade of blonde and is thick, straight, and just a little feathery. She wears it all mostly one length, just past her shoulders and she generally doesn’t do anything very extravagant with it, mostly just casual styles such as putting it up in a ponytail, a braid, and sometimes a messy high bun.

    Much as her hair is worn in a relatively casual manner and one that does not call out for attention, so is her sense of style when it comes to her manner of dress. She’d rather go unnoticed so doesn’t wear anything too revealing or extravagant. She usually wears a plain top with jeans or slacks and sticks to darker colors for the most part, generally browns and black. Her shoes are always practical and she can never be seen wearing any very fashionable footwear or high heels. When she has time to prepare for a job and it isn't just spur of the moment, she also tends to dress professionally for the part.

    Despite the scars she bears, she doesn’t tend to try and hide them, going without even an eye patch most days even though she is practically blind in her right eye. Although she does wear a simple black patch on days her eye is particularly dry or when she doesn’t want to be noticed as much and she can very often be seen wearing a ball cap usually displaying no affiliation. In the area of accessories, as far as jewelry her tastes are extremely minimal and she is only ever seen wearing the silver cross that Estevan and Father Alonso gave her and one of the only things she has left of her family, a ring that was her mother’s.

    Persona: Irma could be considered shy. She prefers that others not get close enough to really know her but at the same time she has desire to be trusted and a need to trust others. She is not fond of speaking about herself and only does so when absolutely required. She doesn't like to recount her past and prefers to live in the present. If she does open up and tell someone about her past despite her general thinking that the past is irrelevant where it doesn't help the future, and it isn't being required of her to do so, it shows that she has come to trust them enough that she thinks they should know.

    She is considerably reserved and quiet, not very talkative unless it is necessary - she prefers to say nothing unless something needs to be said. She isn't opinionated and is generally obedient stemming from years spent in a convent. That is not so say she doesn't have opinions, she just doesn't share them with anyone unless asked and even then she generally will just agree with whatever is commonly acceptable if her opinion differs from anyone involved in the conversation.

    Typically level headed, she can stay calm in the face of a storm but certain things can trigger memories that can catch her off guard and when possible she tries to avoid them. Though it often isn't possible to avoid some of those things and so she can on occasion be seen mouthing prayer in order to stave off her more intense bouts of anxiety.

    When her memories are triggered she loses her calm and can appear rather skittish and during more severe episodes, fearful to the point of hallucinations and violence. Outside of using prayer to keep these incidents at bay, Irma uses her skills with medicine to try and prevent them.

    Persona: A caring and diligent person, Iris treats the members of the guild as if they were her own children. She scolds them from time to time due to their recklessness but otherwise is not at all surprised when hunters go in and try to get themselves killed, even uttering sarcastic remarks at how getting incapacitated would definitely allow them to take on more demons. Her usually cool and calm demeanor helps her in dealing with the toughest situations.

    Appearance: Nathan stands at 5'10 and weighs around 140 lbs. With a pale complexion, his always disheveled hair is as dark as the circles that have a permanent home underneath his eyes. Outside of this work uniform, most of the clothes he wears are baggy and too big for his body, collars hanging a bit off his shoulders and sleeves reaching over his fingers. Aside from that, his style is pretty simple, keeping to things like hoodies and plain colored shirts. He almost always has a tired-looking expression on his face that makes it seem like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

    Persona: Because of his history in the demon slaying business, there are many rumors that surround Nathan. Some say that he's a bloodthirsty killer that only hunts in search of his next meal. He has eaten massive demons and that he fights an influence even greater than the one that afflicts other Augurs. The demon blood he's consumed now runs through his veins and the sun causes it to boil. He fights an influence greater than that of other Augurs and takes on a demonic form when he can't control it anymore. Of course, those are just rumors that have inflated beyond his control. Or at least he hopes so. In reality, he's just a friendless shut-in with no social skills.

    Despite being a demon hunter, Nathan doesn't have any noble ideas about saving humanity or protecting people. In his opinion, anyone that does it willingly is insane. Just the thought of it makes him shudder. If he had the choice, he'd keep as far away from demons as possible. Unfortunately, that's all he was trained for and lacks any other skills.

    Nathan hates fighting, but it's not because he thinks violence is wrong or anything like that. It's simply because he could get killed. He values his own life and isn't keen on putting himself in danger. He's always wary of risky situations and gets anxious pretty easily. It's one of the reasons he can't get along with meatheads that only think about one thing and don't consider their surroundings. Being around them is only an inconvenience.

    A firm believer in Murphy's Law, the idea that things will always take a turn for the worse goes in hand with his wariness, He has little faith in anything and keeps one foot out the door at all times, not wanting to get wrapped up in anything bothersome. In his line of work, however, that's not always possible, so he often tries to cope with some dark humor that mixes in with all the complaints as he bemoans his cruel fate

    Of course, his cynicism also applies to people. He has great difficulty trusting others and often suspects that they have ulterior motives if they display any positivity towards him. It's much easier for him if he's ignored or treated with disdain, since he at least knows how to deal with that. He's had minimal experience with relationships and his few meaningful ones didn't end well. Because of that, being around overly friendly people makes him uncomfortable. He just can't understand them and it gets on his nerves. He always ends up tripping over his words in uncomfortable situations like that, so his go-to response is just to get frustrated and walk off.

    Despite his cautious nature, he doesn't have much tact. He doesn't hide his thoughts or feelings unless it's in his best interest, never really considering or understanding how others are affected by what he says. In general, he just doesn't know how to deal with people.

    If there's any silver lining in how poorly he deals with others, it's that he treats everyone equally. No one is spared from his horrible social skills. Although, there is a slight difference in how he reacts to demons. Even if many have integrated with society and are nothing like those that try to kill him on a regular basis, he occasionally feels awkward in their presence. It's not very surprising, considering he was forced to eat demonic body parts for several years. Even today, he's still sensitive around them, certain smells and appearances bringing back the memories that make his stomach feel queasy. It's not bad enough to affect his work, but the sensitivity is like a loathed six sense of his.

    Nathan prefers being indoors while lazing around. There're no demons to worry about and he doesn't have to deal with other people. Of course, he still has to go outside to earn money for food and his hobbies, but just taking a step out his front door is a chore and everything else is taxing in more ways than one. He doesn't hide this displeasure of his either.

    Regardless of his grievances and preference to avoid danger, Nathan still gets the job done, even if he complains while doing it. He isn't on a noble crusade, but he also isn't heartless enough to ignore a person who's in danger. As someone that's very aware of his limitations, he just prefers to avoid anything unpleasant. Since that's not always an option, all he can do is gripe.

    A green-eyed redhead who stands at 5’7”. She doesn’t cut a particularly intimidating presence. She tends to present herself in a semi-professional manner- she is usually in a suit and tie get up, but she rolls her sleeves up, exposing her forearms, and tends to slouch slightly.

    Persona:
    Only an idiot would think to put up their dukes against a demon and use their fists to solve a demon problem. Which is just as well, because that is exactly what cemented Marina as a fairly unique hunter of Vexpara- a complete and unabashed violent one who dives straight into the fray to sort out the problem. She is ALWAYS paired up with a less temperamental hunter on the account that her usual MO is ‘punch first, ask questions never’. As a result, she ends up classified more as a muscle of Vexpara than an actual operative, being only dragged along just in case roughing up is just what is needed.

    Marina, as a person, is a cynical, distrustful, and overall paranoid hunter who sees evil and demons in every person and every corner. Even to today, she doesn't quite trust the other hunters of Vexpara, and keeps them at bay with her sharp tongue and severe sarcasm. Every being has the potential of evil within them, and that is why she finds so-called ‘good-hearted’ people harder to trust than people who wear their own evils on their sleeve. She can trust the grumpy and mean to be grumpy and mean, but she can’t trust nice and warm people to be nice and warm forever. They’ll give in to their darkness one day, and she knows herself well enough to know that she doesn't have the forethought to know that she won’t see it coming. Instead, she’d rather not be too chummy with them so she will see it coming so she can deck them in the face when they do.

    If that wasn't bad enough, she trusts demons and their blood even less, and keeps those bastards at an arm’s reach. The only time one can get anywhere within an arm’s reach is presumably because she means to punch them straight in the gut. She balks at the idea of even accepting them as part of society, and believes that every single one of then deserves to, in her own words, ‘eat shit and die’. Thankfully, she doesn't get too vocal about her beliefs, but her body language and swift departure whenever a demon is around is enough to clue in others that that isn’t a banana in her pocket, and she’s not happy to see them. In the same vein, she treats halfers like scum at the bottom of her shoe, because humans aren't saints, and with demon blood running in them? That’s a recipe for backstabbing, conniving rat bastards.

    Magnolia looks like any other human being; no horns, wings, tail, or other strange appendages a regular demon would have. The only odd feature she has is her skin and hair coloring combination. Born with snow white hair and caramel skin, people used to stare at her when she was younger, pointing fingers and taking pictures without her father's or tutor's consent. Nowadays, most people believe she bleached her short hair and she's okay with that. Her round eyes are lime green and she has white freckles sprinkled across the bridge of her nose and cheeks.

    She is 5"1 and she really hates being short because people think she's an older teen; when she's not. Her hips are wide, her shoulders and torso are narrow, with lightly toned legs and arms. Magnolia would say she kind of looks like a pear whenever she tries a green summer dress. She weighs about 124 lbs.

    For casual clothes, she'd wear high-waisted shorts, blouses, billowy men sweaters, leggings, etc in warm autumn colors. Like warm oranges and reds, smoky browns, midnight black, gentle grays, vivid greens, and soft ashy pinks. Her work clothes are dark suit jackets with a white button-up shirt, stretchy pants, and a bow-tie; layered with a bullet proof vest just in case. Also boots to hide her dagger in with it's sheath inside and leather gloves on. She will always wear her green hearing aids with something that has a pumpkin on it. For example, pumpkin earrings or a foam pumpkin hair clip.

    Persona: Proud of her work ethnics and loyalty to those who have accepted her, Magnolia is a goof when it comes to social standards. Like she will talk to herself in public without thinking it's strange and move on once she lets her thoughts out. She's not graceful nor is she eloquent, so don't expect her to be a negotiator. She's not brave either, she will run away if things get too intense and if there's a heated argument, she'll freeze and stutter. However she will adapt if the situation calls for it. Even when she's scared, she will stay if that is a necessary part of the plan. Why would she stay if she's that scared? It's because she believes the person's plan has included her own safety or that person has informed her about the possibilities that may happen. She likes to be ready of what may come and if someone tricks her into doing things, she wouldn't be able to forgive them a long while. She's not vengeful but she will remember and not help them afterwards. Believing in 'teamwork makes the dream work', she would do her best to adapt to her team's personality. So if someone's quiet and serious, she will stay quiet too or if someone's chatty, she will be chatty as well.

Once upon a time he likely looked like a reasonably decent person, but those days are sort of gone, instead replaced by wrinkles and stress-induced sagging. He has a few scratches on his face caused by "falling on the job," and overall definitely looks as if he's Seen Some Shit.

    Which he has. But that's none of your business.

    In short, he's basically "over" this whole thing. The sooner he can retire to the Caribbean or Florida or where-the-hell-ever, the better; he doesn't quite have the physique or looks necessary to do such a thing while surrounded by beautiful women, but if his mannerisms and preferences are any indication, at this point he'd likely be better off not being surrounded by anyone at all.

    Persona: Quentin is a right-old English bastard, why yes he is. Years of dealing with the horrors of demons and disgusting lunchroom messes have soured any resemblance of a fatherly personality, and his bitter distate for Just About Everything unfortunately seems to extend to the vast majority of his supposed comrades in Vexpara. You know that one janitor back in high school that spat out sage life advice with the sting of fresh acid shot at full-force from a firehose, solely because he has a vested interest in seeing the youth of the world grow up to be less assholish than himself due to viewing his small part in this effort as atonement for ripping people's good natures away from them out of anger that his own was ripped away due to relentless exploitation by the capitalist machine, preventing him from reaching his fullest potential and living the life he wishes he had?

    That's Quentin, except he also kills demons as a side-job.

    Appearance: Nikodem is a muscular man of 6'3" tall and 200lbs with auburn, curly hair that he keeps in a short bushy tail behind his head. He always take care to be well-shaven and clean when he's not on duty. He wears a full suit of armor when in battle, the armor in question is a hybrid mix of plate armor combined with modern combat armor. When he's not wearing his armor or the combat fatigues that go under it he's wearing some regular trousers, shoes and jumpers/shirts depending on the weather. He is covered in a all kinds of scars from head to toe, showing off that he has been in a close call or three in the past.

    Persona: Nikodem is a calm and structured person who stays calm even under the hottest of fires but he can be a pain in the ass outside of combat. He is always serious and living by a code but seems completely oblivious to jokes. He only seems to find amusement after a good fight with no casualties on his side. He is an empathetic person who doesn't mind being a shoulder to cry on or to punch into if it helps someone, he just isn't that approachable for those who don't know he's like that due to his serious demeanor. He has a strong distaste for demons, the only ones he tolerates and accepts are his colleagues when they act agreeable to him. Has an odd tendency to make the effort of putting on or taking off his armor some sort of precise ritual, it doesn't actually do anything beyond putting his mind at ease as it makes him feel secure against demons when he wears the armor after the ritual. He is a very honest person who abhors lying and is usually kept from talking with the press because of it. He does tend to protect his fellow hunters from harm when he can, just as he will try to protect innocent civilians from harm if possible.

    Appearance: Finlay towers at an unusual 6'5", having been affectionately mistaken for the Cabers people traditionally toss in Scotland. In all honesty, he does resemble a tall, sturdy tree with leaves crimson and orange as his own fiery braid and hawk. His brawn is legendary and mutton chops fresh off the grill.

    Persona: Finlay looks every bit like the ancient celts who fought naked back in the ancient times, but his demeanor is arguably calm and collected, most of the time. If you peer through the hefty musculature, he gains the allure of a warm fatherly figure. It wouldn’t be far from the truth, but that father is a hardy Scotsman whose traditional values would put an anglican priest to shame. He tackles interhuman interaction with humor and is an excellent pep talker. However, his interactions with demonkind are noticeably colder.

    Appearance: Angelica is tall, 5'11'', and scrawny. She's lost the dull-eyed, half-starved look she had before steady meals were a part of her life, but she's still got an air of unsteadiness and fragility that she can't shake no matter how much she boasts about her magical prowess. She hopes it'll go away once she's no longer underweight. Her features are delicate, the eyes piercing, the mouth soft. Her hair is dark, long, and curly.

    Angelica moves, most of the time, like she's trying to take up space. There's times that her walk is more of a swagger, with a certain confidence and assurance, an insistence that she be noticed and remembered. It's undermined by the dozens of tiny tells of imperfect health- she favors her left leg, has moments of dizziness, tends to panic and ramble during stressful conversations. Her voice is smooth, pleasant, and tinged with a drawling accent.

    She describes herself as having two faces- one human(ish), one demon. The biggest difference is coloring- her skin turns from brown to blue-gray and her hair shifts from human brown to an inhuman black- unnatural, light-eating. Her eyes are a constant- her irises are a luminous, glowing yellow-gold, with almost no whites and near-indiscernible pupils. The shift isn't something she has control over- it happens when it happens. Shifting into her "demon" face is a side-effect of using her magic.

    Persona: Angelica is a lot of things.

    First and foremost, she's cocky. She is exceptionally good at what she does, and she knows it, and she's just a little smug about it. She figures she has a right to be proud, especially when faced with the kind of suspicion that can follow an unsubjugated demon of uncommon strength. She doesn't much care. She's met Greater demons, and she'd chew off her right arm before she willingly turned into that.

    She's brave, the kind that comes from being afraid most of the time. Selectively stubborn- just on the things that really matter. Cares more about getting what she wants and doing the right thing than winning arguments. She's loyal to Vexpara because she believes in what they do- it's a conditional thing. Stay honest, stay upright, and she'll stay on because she believes in the mission.

    She's cautious with people. Not hostile, or opposed to the idea of having friends, just... wary. It takes time for her to start trusting someone. She likes people, but she knows from personal experience that they have a great capacity to be awful.

    She's obsessed with food. She eats more than it seems like a girl her size should, and hides food in her room- half because it makes her feel safe, and half because she tends to wake up starving in the middle of the night. She always has at least three snacks on her person at any given time. Food is the one thing that isn't a grand moral principle that she will fight someone over. She spent most of her childhood underfed, and she's not about to be self-conscious about catching up.

He has multiple tattoos on his body, most of them are inspired by religion. The only one you can see when he is clothed is the semicolon on his neck. He is part of the Hani minority of China.
    Although his body is masculine, his face is much softer. His skin is pale and his hair is white. He has slanted, light grey eyes with long lashes. Minghao's eyebrows are light brown, framing his face nicely. His lips are full, and due to him having high body heat, they're quite pink. The man's nose is straight. He fits into the box of what you would think an Ouro would look like.
    Minghao moves very elegantly, his steps are very quiet. He always walks with a good posture, a habit that was hammered in his head since he was a little boy. All in all, he's very fairy-like. It is pleasant to watch him work and move.


    Persona:
    He is introverted and observant. Minghao would rather listen than talk. He has a calm and professional aura to him. You'll feel peaceful just by looking at him. He is sensitive to others' needs and very empathetic. You can reveal any secrets to him, and he'll take them to the grave. The man actively puts others before himself and pats himself on the back for being a good 'dad'. Minghao is a quick learner, always stuffing his nose in a book.
    However, he's not all rosy and without problems. He likes to bottle up his emotions. This causes him to carry lots of emotional baggage and grudges. He hates asking for help, and would much rather tackle his problems alone. He is prone to being cynical and having a dark outlook on life.
    Minghao is not afraid to swim against the current. He is known to be religious and a traditional man. He has good manners and great etiquette. Minghao has respect for his elders and he cares for his juniors. A sincere man, he is easy to get along with.

    Appearance: Nik stands at 6' even, and weighs 175 lbs. She is a fierce woman, built of mostly muscle, imposing in both stature and expression. She is fair skinned, but tans easily during sunny months. Her hair is auburn in color, mixed with lighter shades of oak. Nik's eyes are blazing crimson, and appear to give off an ethereal energy of their own. Scars run lattice across her impressive musculature, telling of many grievous wounds sustained, survived, and healed. Long shirts and pants are the usual makeup of her attire, worn as a cover for said scars. Nik holds very little regard for fashion, and thus does not tend to tend to her own appearance as often as vainer individuals. Red scales run up her arms, up to her shoulder blades as a result of emytherium cell growth caused by many years of infernal magic. She tends to hide these features, and dull the color of her eyes with Deceit glamour magic.

    Persona: Nik is a quiet giant. She prefers to let her actions do the talking, and fears that words will never be enough. Nik is fiercely determined, and easily chooses to fight tooth and nail to ensure the safety of innocent people. She believes those that prey on the defenseless are cowards. Though she is not the most confident directing other people, she has proven to learn quickly to be an efficient hunter-captain in Vexpara. Nik is loyal until death, and often considers her comrades before her own well being. Even though she is quiet most of the time, it is easy to get her short temper fired up.

    Nik has picked up tending to bonsai trees and reading poetry as therapy for her temperament.

    Appearance: A pale, bouncy-looking woman who measures up to 5'7", Abigal resembles the sort of person with way too much time on their hands. Quite obviously demonic in appearance, a pair of jagged horns sprout from her temples and a network of bony carapace webs its across her body, she's not someone who can hide her heritage, even from the least astute of observers. Her horns, in addition to the tail that writhes at her back has even let to the misunderstanding that she's a Greater Demon on more than on occasion, even though it's just an unfortunate pairing of racial traits. Her Mark of Subjugation is displayed reasonably openly, on the right side of her neck.

    Persona: A decidedly troublesome demon that has has taken to the underbelly of human society like a rat to cheese, Abigail is someone who has no issue with demeaning herself, or exploiting the hearts of the always-desperate men of the world for a quick buck. In public, she wears the face of a bubbly young woman, hopping from place to place and thought to thought, concerned only with the here and now; An appearance that is definitely not becoming of her age. In private, that is to say when in the company of herself and herself only, that personality drops and is replaced by a slower, more methodical one. Regardless of which mode she's in, the woman's shamelessness remains steadfast and firm, having no problems to doing much of anything in order to get by.

    Appearance: A striking pair of blue eyes peer through the white bangs that hang across her forehead from which short and slender horns protrude. Haruka’s skin color is a reddish purple and adorned with lively tattoos from a time when she believed them fitting. One could assume she’s proud of them, still, with how liberally she shows them to the world.

    Persona: The path to redemption is arduous and lengthy. But she treks this journey, still. Outwardly, she reveals the appearance of a rowdy, raunchy, young punk. Inwardly, she exercises control and restraint. She flirts with the contrast of how she presents herself versus how she acts. Her persona borrows bits and pieces from human philosophers, whom she studied to better understand humans and, ultimately, herself, noting the similarities between her and humans, and where they end.

    Appearance: Knut is a simple looking fellow for a Lesser Demon, his face looks like he was flung face first into a wall at some point. The only features that give away that he is in fact a demon are hi pointed ears, small tusks, discolored skin, size and his goat-like legs. He stands at 7'3'' (2,20m) tall if he'd stand fully upright and weighs 243 lbs (110kg) equally spread between his muscle mass and fat. His hair is raven black and always in a state of half-long disarray. He often wears clothing with zero fashion sense as he just goes for what feel comfortable and not for what makes visual sense.

    Persona: The best way to describe Knut is to call him a lovable idiot. He's a very kind and warm personality who likes just about anybody and goes out of his way to make friends out of all his co-workers. He isn't the brightest tool in the shed though as he often doesn't take situations serious enough and just in general isn't very smart. He is quite a calm person and always seems to just emit that calmness to those around him if they let him. He has no demons of his own or skeletons in his closet and seems generally just to scare, but that is probably because he just doesn't realize he's in danger. He is very spiritual though as he believes most of the things he encounters as an exorcist are troubled souls trapped in a hole of the road of life which need to be helped out of the hole one way or another.
