Ornpyat - Far from the news many wish to hear prior to the Teguznorma holiday weekend, conflict has broken out between members of the now former Democratic Peoples Party as temperments flared over a variety of grievances, including the Nakate Bazenye scandal that has followed the party for over five years. The situation was ignited by the recent failure of the controversial industry security bill which showed clearly the division within the party that had been growing under Mugara Yuza's tenure. Yuza had mentioned a course of remanagement was to be expected, however the problems within the party were too far gone for such a thing to have been beneficial. The entire ministerial chamber convened today to discuss the fallout of the national security bill but discussions diverted almost immediately into insults. Yasano Jani had started the conversation over the fears of the state of the party whereupon Kazugaka Chanu remarked on Jani and his mother, leading to a string of insults between ministers and the speaker of the chamber unable to reassert order whereupon blows were traded among ministers as the chamber erupted into total chaos.
"While it's clear you have poor relations with the party, I cannot say the same about my relations with your mother" - Kazugaka Chanu
Peace was not restored in the chamber for almost ten minutes with only the arrival of the police remove those who would refuse to stop otherwise. The Emperor was also brought in following the incident due to the clear severity of the situation. Mugara Yuza, having applied an ice pack to his bruised hand during the speech, admonished his fellow ministers for the behaviour they displayed.
"this was a sickening display I unfortunately had to also participate in against my will, to call myself a minister along with you all today disgusts me"
Mugara then declared his formal resignation as leader of the DPP and notified the chamber of his intent to run a new party apart from his former DPP colleagues. He also requested the Emperor to take immediate action towards the instigators of the violence within the chamber and to dissolve the DPP coalition government and in extension the current assembly, an opinion that was echoed amongst numerous other members of the chamber. Emperor Metenyanu notified the present ministers that it was indeed his intent to dissolve the current government and initiate an election on the first of February with the current executive cabinet remaining in power until then.
The news of these events have not made anybody happy as protests continue over the industrial security bill as many demand the Emperor to expedite the bill and immediately pass it into law, however the Emperor has already stated he intends to remain neutral on the situation until state of the new assembly is found out.
