News [URGENT] RpNation Apps/Tapatalk Discontinued for Now

Oh no... I love Tapatalk, and it's the only thing I can use at the moment to get onto here. I've had it for a year and I think that it's amazing and gives access to so many different online forums, and this one was my favorite... I personally do not like the online version on my phone's browser, especially how I can't even insert pictures off my phone because it's not the correct format to load on here...


Please, if it's at all possible, can this be fixed? In any way? If not, I don't know if I would be able to go on here much anymore...

I've been using the regular browser for this site for a while. It's fairly simple, and I have absolutly no problems doing it.


I hated tapatalk anyway. I knew it was a sketchy system, but whatever.
 
I use the mobile version when I'm in my phone and I wouldn't mind waiting till there's an app

Unfortunately, tapatalk cannot continue to work for RpN. However, the site should work decently on mobile - it does for me, at least, and many others. We're sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused, but it's for the better in the long run.
 
I never liked Tapatalk and researching it has led to more bad than good. Good riddance to it and anything based off it. I honestly hope their franchise falls through completely; they deserve nothing less *howl*

Well... This definitely explains why RpN seemed to be dead. The apps and stuff were discontinued... Now to get in the habit of checking the mobile site.


Regardless I wish you luck Dwiz in making a better app that doesn't rely on the thing that is Tapatalk
 
Why does everyone hate on Tapatalk? It's an awesome app where you can efficiently do stuff on, even manage multiple forums and sites on. I really like it, and personally really dislike the mobile version.


 
You can't even insert pictures onto threads on the mobile site, so I don't know what I'm going to do now....

Did you read the first and second post? Tapatalk has very bad security issues.


I was on Xenoforo's forum earlier hunting for some alternatives to show Dwiz and the general consensus amongst the forum owners there is that tapatalk is terrible due to security issues.


 
And you can insert pictures and upload pictures on the site. Plenty of users, myself included, do.


If you're having an issue with getting one uploaded then you should make a bug thread in SQ&I so the administration can look into it.

Not only does tapatalk have security issues, there's the other issue - that Dwiz was not able to cancel their service when he tried.


There are a multitude of reasons this change has occurred.


The important thing to note is that while this is not changing (that is, tapatalk is not coming back, that's done and is staying in the past) Dwiz is working on an replacement.

When on the computer site, I can insert pictures, but not on the mobile site. It always says the pictures are in the incorrect format and picture extension, even though it says it allows jpg images which is what the majority of my mobile pictures are.

Hey I can design an app for free if you guys want. I have a bunch of programmer friends who are willing to make one for free
 
While it is not a full solution yet, here is a small bit of aloe to apply to the burns we have all suffered.


When you visit the site on mobile you'll get a one time message on how to add RpN to your homescreen for quick convience, that way you don't have to constantly go to your broswer, etc.


Here is how it looks on mine, top right.
