Other Unintentionally Weird Games

I've been on a kick lately where I want to hear about really odd games, either from childhood or beyond. While games meant to be odd are fine, I'm more interested in games that weren't intended to be weird. One strange one that comes to mind was Petz Catz 2 for the Wii. The cover makes it seem like a pretty basic pet game, from what I remember it was about a little cat village where the protagonist was tricked into giving an evil wolf a magic top hat and he destroyed the village?


It was all very surreal when you're expecting a pet simulator. I don't think I ever beat it, though I remember loving it. I'll have to track down a copy.

So anyone else have any unintentionally weird games?

There are a ton of older games that come to mind that were fucking weird. Super Bonk and James Pond 2 are the first ones that immediately come to mind,

Project Eden for PS2 is one I found odd.

That Catz game looks like an absolute trip.
This isn't exceptionally weird, but I used to play a My Little Pony game (I don't remember if it was in browser or on a CD) where you created a pony and raised it, including training it to be able to leap over fences so it could visit the pony town. And once your pony was 'grown' enough, you would send her off into the clouds, and that was it! You never got to play with that one again! As a little kid, that creeped me out, and I wondered if it was metaphorical pony death...

I played Petz Dogs 2, and it had the exact same plot. Made it to the final boss (which was even weirder), but I never beat it

I about screamed when I saw this because it was SUCH a nostalgia blast and I didn't think anybody else had played it. I remember being so incredibly obsessed with this game as a child that I beat it multiple times. I thought it was the best thing ever.
I'm having flashbacks to all the doodles I made of that wolf villain character... man.
I highly doubt I'd enjoy it very much if I went back to it, but maybe I should play it again just for fun, lol. You're right that it's definitely a very weird game.

When I was really young I was obsessed with a game called Dog's Life which was. . . kinda weird looking back on. A dog is kidnapped by some Evil Dudes and you play as another dog trying to get her back and then there's a conspiracy to turn dogs into cat food.

I must have seen multiple movies/shows about cartoon animals that had this same plot, but it still comes off as pretty messed up considering the target audience, doesn't it?

I had a loooooottt of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen game boy games
