Gaster chuckled " It could have Asgroe could have killed the last child and lead monsters into another slaughter" Gaster said simply " In this world, this timeline fighting solves nothing you don't have DETERMINATION you can't RESET but someone else can and they will all your work will be undone and you will not even know it" He said highlighting the futility " So I suggest you learn mercy before you have to relearn it i hate teaching the same lesson twice"

Hilton sat dumbfounded for a moment, then sat back up, and continued "why would I learn a useless skill, mercy is just an excuse for weak monsters or humans to get out of a battle!"

Gaster shook his head " No mercy is an even harder battle, with a fight you can count on dumb luck and physical force you need not learn or worry, you need not be smart you need only be stupid and strong. TO spare another you must be able to see who they are without knowing them learn what it is that makes them happy all while under attack. If you can only resort to violence then you prove you can't even understand humans and in the end they were right you deserve to be locked away He explained as humans had feared monster for their magic and in their simplistic thinking it had been kill or be killed " If you really believe it is such then I will have a real match with you after school we can see how well your theory stands up when you can't hurt your opponent"

"find then" Hilton said, flustered and angry "i accept your challenge, to prove to you that mercy is never the answer" and with that, Hilton adjusted his glasses and took a breath "now continue with your pointless mercy lesson if you much"

Eden sat in silence thinking about the lesson "Mercy huh... strange... since when did sparing became a thing." Eden said with calm cold tone. Chloe watched Hilton's actions and said "Well someone's getting a little aggressive." Chloe adjusted her eyepatch and tightened the ribbon on the top of her head.

Chara was surprised at Hilton's words. She smiled at the challenge. That's gonna be sooo epic! She thought. Chara wanted to watch it and whenever it would happen, but she didn't know if Flowey would say she's getting involved in it, or Frisk would stop her from fighting. She waited patiently with a mischievous grin.

(Sorry I wasn't able to be on before!)

Frisk listens the whole time, staying quiet and silent. Not letting out any sound or joining in just yet. They were however interested by the lesson that W.D Gaster was teaching. Frisk liked these kind of topics, they felt that it can help them learn more information about themselves and others. Soon, the topic of mercy came up. And their head almost flies up. But another student, a new student who just came in. Seemed to be not so fond of the idea of using mercy. Frisk frowned a bit. Mercy is what the child has always used, and they believe that it's what right. "I agree with Mister Gaster..." They said silently to themselves, agreeing with the teacher. Their eyes widen as he challenged the new student. This kind of thing never happened before they fell. Maybe it was a monster teacher thing? That's what Frisk guesses.

They shift a bit uncomfortable, they hope that nothing happens at the future fight. And maybe, just Maybe. Hilton will find that Mercy can help you win in a fight. They knew that it has surely help themselves in the Underground. Frisk turns to look at Hilton.

"In my opinion. I agree with the teacher. I think that Mercy is the answer and can help you. And I hope you will think that too later on. It has helped me for sure!" They added a smile.

Hilton, now pumped for the fight after school, not even taking notes, looked at the child that agreed with gaster and snarled "well your opinion is stupid and unnapricated"

" They are the human that broke the barrier Gaster said stepping in again " Without them you would be stuck underground still trapped and if they had solved their problems with violence your family and likely you would be dust , your life in the end was their choice" He said knowing how things could turn out " But i fear such things are beyond your understanding" he said with a shrug

"oh, are you saying I couldn't take this human in a fight" Hilton said, now with a strange ice cold calmness "because if that's what your saying, your wrong, and who cares if this human broke the barrier" Hilton said, now with his head tilted slightly downward "it was better off when humans and monsters were separate anyways...now humans and monsters have more wood to fuel their racism of each other"

" Then go back is that what you want?" Gaster asked holding his hand up ready to snap his fingers " Because if that is what you desire then I can make that happen"

"N-Now... I don't think that... I uh..." Frisk stands in between the two. Not wanting any arguing. "It's fine! I know I'm not tough. Definitely not. And uh..." Frisk looks at Gaster's hand. "N-No uh... Hurting each other... Or in this case teleporting... I wouldn't want someone be get hurt...."

"ugh, of course I don't want to go back" Hilton said, slightly blushing, and now even more flustered with anger, ingoring the human in front of him "and besides, going back would be pointless, since if what you say about determination and "resets" is true, then time would just fix its self up until here again"

" Frisk has long since passed that SAVE point the world can no longer return to a point behind that" he explained calmly " You can always physically go back there is nothing there to stop you" He continued he would not send the child away despite wanting to do so but well some woudl always want to fight. " To get beyond that point would take a being with the full 7 souls a god for lack of a better word so you can rest assured anything you do will not RESET to a SAVE point anymore now that we are no longer in a sealed environment"

Frisk nodded slightly. "Plus... I truly don't want to... I promised myself and my friends if I ever got to, I wouldn't. And I'm glad that it's I think... Impossible for me to reset." Frisk looks over to the two.

"hmm, so in an unsealed environment, RESETING is impossible...interesting" Hilton thought, now seemily more calmed down "but it still doesn't change the fact of the matter, that mercy is just plain pointless, and that it will become less and less used as friction between monsters and humans stir" Hilton finished, adjusting his glasses and continuing "i mean, personaly I don't hate all humans, but other monsters just don't feel the same, and the same goes for humans"

"Well... I guess that is true... But as the ambassador, I try to help everyone be at peace. And to help humans and monsters understand more about each other. As well as to try to stop this monster racism." Frisk added in. "It's hard but there are some open-minded Humans who are just happy to have monsters here. And I still also think mercy isn't useless. That's what I used when I was in the underground whenever I was in a fight. And it worked!" Frisk jumps up a bit exclaiming. "Even against strong and powerful monsters, like Undyne."

Flowey popped in, annoyed by their continous banter. "Mercy is overrated, people. Where I come from? It's kill or be killed. And look at me. I'm fine!" he said, with the words 'I'm fine!' sounding sarcastic, and somewhat mocking. Flowey sighed, once again realizing his existance has no purpose, however remembering that suicide is pointless, as he'll just have to continue... "Anyway, Frisk. The only reason you could use mercy in the first place, is because you're a kid, and you managed to capture everyone's liking. Do you know what would have happened if not for that? The story would be much more tragic."

" look, the talking flower has a point, that you probably got away with mercy, because the monsters you faced were probably grown-ups, and grown-ups are not going to open mindedly kill a human" Hilton finished.

Frisk pouted at Flowey's and Hilton's direction. They knew exactly what he meant. All too well. Frisk never told anyone, but they have had to reload in the Underground. And a lot. They have died multiple times, either it had to be when the monster they were fighting was strong, they couldn't heal. Ect. But they decided that it might be best for no one to know that. At least for now. They akwardly shift in their place, placing a hand on their arm. "Y-Yeah.. I do" They force a small smile.

" The power of the red souls is to RESET upon death frisk died over and over until they go it right" Gaster said " Monsters had no problems killing a human child " he continued before turning to flowey " It could have but they didn't but the tragedy would not have been the death of one human" he said knowing how the genocide path worked out.

"So I made my point anyway. Someone that can't RESET will die permamently. And seeing how many times Frisk died, Oh... Oh my. I believe Mercy is indeed overrated." Flowey responded, smiling at Frisk with a cocky smile, knowing he was victorious. It didn't really bring that much satisfaction, it was just something Flowey did for the sake of doing it, and for the sake of fruitful hatred.

Frisk pouts at Flowey. "Flowey.. It isn't... At least I don't think so. I know it took me a while for me to spare some... But in the end I did it. I spared everyone I met." Frisk looks slightly off to the side. "And I'm glad I did. If I didn't, I wouldn't have all these friends and family that I do now"

" All the more reason to learn to spare one another as one fight could spark another war there will be fights yes but the key is managing them " Gaster said having seen a previous timeline collapse into war and having to have it reset with new variables. " If you understand how to fight properly you won't need to kill them " He said more amused by this little conversation as if he was looking down on the students on the verge of getting bored with them and wondering what would happen if he simply removed them " But perhaps that is a good thing maybe this world has only enough room for one race" he said " Though perhaps it doesn't even have room for one " He mused having seen a great many worlds ending in grand nothingness just one child screaming and crying to the heavens for their mistakes.

"Yeah. I think that's true. Fighting would only just lead to war. And I don't think we don't need that, or that it's good. It would divide the monsters from the humans again... And also kill many Humans and Monsters in the process too... That's what I think."
