Under the Shadow of The Old Oak Tree (Rp)

The king dissmissed Elle saying he would send a guard for her when he needed her and she nodded, deciding to go for a walk. She was practicing her ballance skills when a large group of men aproched, she didn't notice, normally she would but she didn't feel the need to be on the watch out.

"Hey, babe, what have you got on you?" she man asked and she rolled her eyes, she had droped her bag of at her hollow and only had a pocket knife on her, at the moment. She flashed then a charming smile and said "A pocket knife." They looked taken aback and one grabed her arms, holding them behind her back, calmly Elle screamed, loudly so hlp would come. She looked them over and saw it was a gang, which was just lovely.

"Just up you B****" one said covering her mouth

Jayson looked slightly surprised by Damien's comment, frowning slightly.

'What would the prince want with one of my swords? Surely he would have thousands of his own?' He asked, surprised. He didn't quite know what to make of his request. No one had the money to buy the sword outright, so it had rested in the glass cabinet for all of its life, but surely no one would send a servant for such a priceless item. of course, he'd come for a sword. He hadn't known the item would be there.

'I don't quite understand much of what your saying sir.' He said politely, confused by his mannerisms. He didn't act like a servant, that was for sure. Before he could ask another question, Kristine came back, babbling about Michahael having fallen over in the forest or something. He hardly took any notice, just flashed her a smile.

'Thank you Kris, thanks for finding him. He has a tendency to wander.' He said with an affectionate smile at both his betrothed and his brother.

'Now that you're here, perhaps you'd help by finishing that gate for me, please Michahael?' He asked his brother, who nodded and set to work without a word. he was still trying to get over his horrible actions. He waited nervously for the guards to come running into the Smithey and take him away.

Isis had left the stall disappointed, no one had bothered to speak to her, which she found highly rude. She wandered back towards the upper class district and heard a scream. Running in the direction of the sound she came upon a horrible sight. A group of men were gathered around a single woman. Isis was furious. She dropped her things and charged into the fray, grabbing the first man by the head and slamming it against the log the woman had been balancing on.

'Leave her alone! How dare you attack a defenceless woman!' She cried, seeming much less the seventeen year old rich snob that people thought her as. She attacked the next one, kicking his feet out from under him and forcing him to let go of Elle. Ten minutes later they were all either lying on the ground or limping away.

'We'll get you next time, both of you.' The leader snarled as he left. Isis rolled her eyes, fixing her hair briefly before turning back to Elle.

'Are you alright? Did they hurt you in any way?' She asked, helping to woman to her feet.

(@Lily)

Elle got up and rolled her eyes at the men, "Good luck with that." she called out and turned to the womanan and smiled "Yes, I'm fine, I'm not usually so . . . Helpless though." she said "They were trying to mug me, al i have on me though is a knife, they got mad." she rolled her eyes and smiled "You seem like an exelent fighter, have you ever taken classes at the castle, that is what i teach." she smiled

Isis smiled slightly, shaking her head.

'No, my brother taught me before he was...' she paused. Should she tell this woman that her brother had been exiled? She shrugged. Why not, it wasn't like it mattered. '..Before he was exiled for something he didn't even do.' She said with some indignance. She fully maintained that her brother'd had no part in the events that had transpired that night. All he had done was take the blame. She had hated that he'd been exiled on his supposed 'friend's' behalf. Of course, this woman didn't need to know it had happened. it wasn't her fault that he was exiled. She smiled again, picking up her belongings and slinging her bag over her shoulder.

'I'm Isis by the way, Isis Rockwell.' She said, extending a hand. Her parents had always taught her to be polite when meeting new people. Unlike most of the wealthier families, the Rockwells didn't look down on those of less status, because it wasn't all that long ago that their own lineage had been part of the lower class. They'd worked hard for their wealth and it had taken many generations to build it up to the standard that it was today.

Elle smiled and said "I'm Elle Hoppkins." she msiled and when she said her brother was exiled she smiled sadly "I hope he knows how he can be pardoned . . . ." she trailed of, it wasn't commonly known that thw banished ones could get a spore, some knew but it wasn't spoken of often. The people prefer to shun there problems away, rather then embrace them. She smiled againa dn said "Well, why don't we head up to the castle I'll show you my training room, maybey you'll join my class." She smiled happily "I'm getting an award tomorrow, and performing with the class, They are making me wear a dress, little con artists, i swear they learnt that of me" She rolled her eyes, remembering that is how she got them to do things she needed them to do

Isis returned her smile, nodding slightly.

'i'd like that.' She was thinking about her brother. Her kind, loving brother that had been there when her parents couldn't, the brother that had taught her to stand up for herself and what she believed in, that spent months teaching her how to fight in close combat after an incident with some other girls. The memories, which she had pushed to the back of her mind, came back fresh and painful and she had to wipe away a tear.

'He'll come back,' she said in a hitched voice. 'And when he does.. he'll be better than ever.'

Elle smiled and nodds, starting to lead but when she hears this she nods "He will, he will." he hugged Isis and whispered in her ear "Be strong, be everything he would be proud of, well keep being everything he'd be proud of." She said she knew how to deal with emotions, she had gotten a degree in therapy but persued teaching as it was more needed then therapy. She whispered in her ear "He'd be so proud of you now, helping me and anyone else who needed help."

(Xx-Katherine-xX its probably easier to read through the posts. But basically what has happened is Elle is preparing for the festival tomorrow, dunno what its for but oh well, the exiled prince has returned and is in an arranged marriage with her, but he's at the blacksmith's right now trying to buy a sword. Jayson and Kristine are engaged and Kristine had to go get Jay's brother Michahael (pronounced Mick-A-El) from the castle where he just kinda kissed the younger prince. Prince Jonah doesn't even know who he is so its all fun and games. Elle was attacked by a group of random men and Isis has just helped her out. that's it in a nutshell)

Isis was surprised when she was pulled into a hug. She was fine, she just let her guard down for a moment, that was all it was. She tried to explain this to the woman.

'I'm sorry, I don't normally lower my guard like that. It just kind of slipped out.' She flashed her a smile again before pulling out of the hug. 'Do you need help carrying anything up to you quarters? I'm on my break at the moment so I don't have anything to worry about time-wise.' She offered, fixing her dark brown hair as it flicked into her eyes. She adjusted her dress accordingly, fixing the bodice carefully so she didn't look out of place. She then rifled through her bag for a mirror to make sure that her make-up was still fine.

'Sorry about that, I just have to make sure I look my best.' She explained, putting the mirror back intot the bag. 'Fighting with idiots can ruin a girl's appearance if she isn't careful.'

Damien chuckled "well, he has some blades, but unlike other princes who have been building a collection since childhood, he has only been able to begin collecting since his return from exile, despite his "colorful" history, he is the least armed of the royal family, definitely nothing to wear to such an important event as his wedding... of course i'm not here to select any individual blade, i am here to pick out quote: "the finest, most dangerous blades on offer" as he said, the routine shall be for me to pick out several of your finest blades, and then you, or one of the castle servants, to bring them up to the palace for the prince himself to select... he requested this place by name, apparently he used to come here as a child, used to play with some of the local kids and hide from the royal guards in here..."

Damien sighed, thinking of the old days and how he missed them

"anyway..."

he reached out and pulled out another blade, it was curved, incredibly sharp and strong with intricate patterns all over it except on the blade, the back of the blade had extra weight on it, to add more force into each strike.

"this blade... i assume one of yours? this shall be one of the blades bought to the palace"

he placed it on the counter and began browsing for a second.

Eliza's bright blue eyes scanned the ground as she searched for her kitten. Her light blonde hair hung in carefully curled locks as she knelt down. She could easily see the tiny white kitten's tail peeked out from under a root. She carefully pulled the tiny thing out and stood straight, her dark blue dress brushing against her ankles. She hurried back home and searched around, looking for one of her brothers. She sighed and plopped down in a chair, stroking the little animal in her arms. She sighed and let the kit run off. She needed to figure out where on earth her brothers were. She needed to figure out when she was supervising the harvest. They all had appointed weeks to watch over the harvesting in the gardens. She wasn't sure when her week was this year and she had to know before the harvest officially began. She stood and hurried outside, staring up at the entwined branches, and began searching for her brothers.

Elle smiled and said "I;m sorry, i was a therepist for w hile . . I quit though i love fighting more" she said with a bright smile. "No, i need no help, but i do need to visit the older kids." SHe said remebering that they needed to see her jewlery. "Thety want to make sure i got good outfits and such for the awards tomorrow," she giggled a little remembering last yearm=, some lady's dress caught on fire, from a fire eater and she panicked, while everyone else triend to help her it was funny to se, because she claimed she was fearless

The hour was alive with people moving about and minding their own business. It was after school hours and Tamotsu was fanning himself with a small traditional Japanese paper fan, panting trying to keep cool. Today he worked at a small restaurant that had little room to work in and no AC. So far there were hardly any costumers and Tamotsu couldn't blame them. The food they served was barely edible and covered is greace. The smell was rank and it was enough to make a cockroach turn green in the face. Thankfully Tamotsu had a strong stomach and he could bare the smell of his employers awful entrees. His mind was hardly on the job though, his life troubles kept nagging at him like a horrible itch. With sweat trickling down his face, neck and chest he huffed complaining, "Damn this heat....why the hell did I choose to work here?" Tamotsus manager came up from behind him and yanked the paper fan from him, wacking him on the side of the head with it shouting, "If you don't get off your big rear end you won't have to worry about coming in tomorrow!" Tamotsu snorted a bit before re-zooming work, still trying to over come the stagnant heat.

(Short post but whateves, there isn't any interaction atm.)

Jayson nodded politely, turning to check on his brother who was busy working on the gate. Being a family business, Jayson had thought it best if michahael learnt the ropes, which came in handy for days such as this. He turned back to Damien.

'Yes I can do that. Although, why should his lordship need a dangerous weapon for a ceremonial event? It is unlikely anything would happen at such an event. There will already be millions of soldiers to protect the event and its attenders.' He reasoned, pushing a lock of hair out of his eyes. It wasn't that he was trying to disagree, but it didn't make much sense to him. He never quite understood why his father had insisted on making his final sword both decorative and deadly. The man had never explained it either. All he did was make his son agree to finish it if he couldn't do it himself. And so he had, keeping his promise. Jayson glanced back at Michahael, watching as he worked the metal with almost as much care for the finishing product as he himself had. If only he could convince him to become more involved, Jay thought sadly. He felt Mick would make a fine blacksmith. If he applied the same patience he did to his sketches.

~~

Isis shrugged, shifting her bag onto her shoulder carefully.

'That's alright, these things happen. I don't normally talk about my brother, my parents don't appreciate it being brought up too much.' She sighed slightly before changing the subject.

'The word amongst the people is that you're the one marrying the newly returned prince Damien, is that true? If so you must be so excited. For one of the people to be chosen as his bride.. I'm almost envious.' She gushed, thinking about the younger prince, Jonah, and how she would love to be chosen as his wife. 'I can't wait until they start looking for a bride for Prince Jonah. They're bound to consider my family as possible relations. I sure of it.' She blushed suddenly, realising that she had spoken out of turn. 'Oh, I'm so ashamed, forgive my outspoken ramblings. You won't tell anyone I said that will you?' She asked, a hand covering her mouth for a moment. She didn't wish for Elle to think of her as conceited, for she wasn't. She was just... Well, Isis really.

Elle giggled but was shocked it had goten out already and she went along with the kings plan, because well, it was the king after all. She laughed and said "I wasn't chosen for him, We met and he asked me." she fake gushed, inside she felt like hitting her head over and over, but she kept a bright happy face on, no one could see through it, well usually. She smiled again and shook her head "No, I wont tell a soul." she swore and started to head up to the castle.

Eliza couldn't help but pause as she heard voices and the mention of her brother, Jonah's, marriage. She peered around the corner and her bright eyes fell a bit at the sight of Elle. She was betrothed to Damien, her other brother, and Eliza was jealous. She had always been close to her brother and when he was banished for years she was heartbroken. And now here this teacher was going to take him away. She huffed a sigh and figured she might as well go say hello to her soon to be sister-in-law. She walked over, arms crossed over her chest and gave a tiny smile "Elle." Her voice had just a tiny touch of sarcasm in it and she tossed her light locks over her shoulder. "It's quite a surprise seeing you here. Have you seen Damien?"

Isis fixed her with a slightly disbelieving look but shrugged. What the woman did was her own business, not Isis'. She followed after her, not sure if she was still welcome but doing so anyway. When the princess came over she blushed slightly, wondering if she had heard her sudden outburst. Curtseying low to the princess she flashed her with a gentle and humble smile.

'Your highness, you look well today.' She said, even though the princess wasn't speaking to her.

Elle smiled and said "No, I haven't, sorry princess, I was just going to show Isis hre my fighting quarters." she said curtsing even though she was engaged, she stil had to show respect to the royals, which she happily did, "Your father did say that he was going to meet me and Daimen in the throne room after dinner. Oh and i overheard some couriers saying that he jumped out a window . . " she trailed of trying to be helpfull

Damien chuckled "you haven't seen many royal weddings i guess?... the sword is ceremonial, appearances you understand? and my prince has a certain... fondness for thing with possible practical applications..." Damien got a bit concerned, what if the custom of the prince having the blade at his hip had been removed?... then all he was doing was making a fool of himself...

"and well, if it is decided that the ceremonial sword is no longer needed, then I suppose it will be put into the prince's armory.

he selected a couple of others

"alright, that should be all"

he looked over the blades, each one would be in the thousands.

"you know you're also welcome to the wedding, we hope to see you there... bring these up to the palace any time before the wedding"

he reached into his pocket and pulled out a note, with the value of a thousand dollars on it

"here, a token of thanks for being the provider of Prince Damien's blade"

he smiled and turned around "well, duty calls... it never ends, does it? i best get back, have a nice day now!"

he walked outside and looked up at the palace

"hmm... maybe i should find my bride to be..."

Eliza gave a tiny nod to the girl and sighed "Very well, then. I was hoping I might be able to find out what the plans were for harvest rotation this year." She turned and began walking, her dress trailing beind her. She was young, yes, but she took after her mother and was very mature. But she could be quite snobby. Then again, that was Liza, smart, mature, and spoiled. She'd never admit to it but she always felt very alone and she had even felt as low to slit her wrists with knives. Years ago it been known as being 'emo' but now everyone thought you were insane. She glanced around town and spotted a empty bench. She plopped down on the cool wood and gave a tiny sigh. She sighed a lot. Liza's eyes strayed around and locked on Michahael's. She blushed a bit and looked away. The young princess had always had a little crush on the young man but knew she could never begin to think of marrying him. He was, after all, a commoner.

Tamotsu grunted as he shoved out a few orders, irritated that he was begaining to get a headahce, "There really is no ned to this heat is there?" Just as he was about to go back to his preping station Cash, Raph and Koga showed up. The three of then stood at the front desk as Cash spoke, fixing his glasses as he did so, "Hey Tamo...you busy?" Tamotsu gave him a annoyed galnce then turned his back growling, "Yeah what does it look like Im doing? Im working here!" He hated the fact that none of them really seemed to care when he was working, Gang issues were always first to them. For a long time it had been the same for him too. Cash cleared his throat and tried a different mythod, "Tamotsu we need to talk man, some of the Underlings attacked some girl not too long ago. We're going out to look for them. You in?" Tamotsu knew that tone Cash had given him. It was that light nudge saying it might be worse then he had thought. Closing his eyes in defeat he sighed throwing his uniform vest off musting, "Yeah...lets go." The four of them left and Tamotsus attitude slowly started to change, molding back into a dark time of his life.

Nearing the area where the attack had been taken place he heard a commution of voices ahead. Cash shifted his glasses a bit as Koga snorted, "Just a bounch of chicks here man..." Raph smirked amused with Kogas impaitence remarking, "Yes but it WAS a girl that had been attacked. Its worth taking a look no Koga-kun?" Koge bit down on his lip ring an shot Raph a nasty look before agreeing, "Yeah yeah yeah I guess." Cash chuckled a bit at him retorting, "You act as though you have a problem checking a few cute girls out." Koga went to react but Tamotsus stillness got the attention of all three as he spoke, "What did they say the girl looked like?" Cash rubbed his chin trying to think, "Hmmm....I believe they said she had long light brown hair, kinda honey colored." Tamotsu narrowed his eyes, "Was she possibly a Teacher?" Cash, Raph and Koga all looked at him quickly as Raph spoke, "Do you know her?" Tamotsu Kept looking at the group of women musting, "No, I just know that there is a teacher at my school with that color hair. Come on, lets pass by them to get a closer look." Together the three of them gathered up in a group and headed towards the women. Cash was smirkling smuggly at them, his shades hiding his prevers eyes. Raph had on a kind smile, flashing it in their direction to be friendly. Koga ignored them all together, seeming to have tunnel vision. Tamotsu glanced over at the group, making eye contact with all of them. The air felt thick and for those few long seconds there was nothing but silence. He was paying close attention to the girl with the long brown hair, her face was vegely familuar. His gaze shifted to her arms, fade indications of bruses showed. He didn't have to ask he already knew, she was the one. This was worse then he had thought because she was the soon to be wife of a Royal. If word got out it was their Gang that had attacked her they'd all recive punishment. Tamotsu watched her for awhile longer before turning his head, the other three still keeping in step with him. Tamotsu said in a gruff tone, "Yeah....that was her." The group shared glances before looking ahead, none of them saying a single word.

Isis couldn't help but giggle slightly at Elle's mention of the prince climbing out of a window. It sounded just like someone that had been in exile for years. And she knew that the rules being in power required you to abide by could be very stifling indeed. She curtseyed again as the princess left, frowning slightly.

'Does the princess always look so down? I wouldn't have thought that she should have cause for being upset.' She glanced at her watch and her mouth formed a slight 'o' of surprise.

'I'm terribly sorry Elle, but I have to be getting back to the shop. My break is nearly over.' She said, smiling politely to the teacher before picking up her skirts and running back towards the main part of town.

~~

Jayson nodded to the man as he left, wondering why on earth he'd been given a check before the task was done, but accepting it. They needed the money, that was for sure. He gently tapped his brother on the shoulder, indicating that he could take over.

'I need you to do me a favour. Kristine needs a key made. Somethign abotu a magic trick or something. Do you think you could do it?' He asked the teen, who shrugged.

'Sure.. I don't see why not. I don't have anything better to do.' He said, setting to work. He looked up momentarily to see the princess sitting outside the smithey, and wondered if she was okay. The sight of her reminded him of his actions earlier and he blushed slightly at the memory. It then occured to him that she might think he was blushing because of her and he cursed slightly before shrugging to himself again. What did it matter? it wasn't like he could have anything to do with any of the royals anyway. He finished working the metal and set it into a cold pail of water to set it, before holding it up to Jayson so he could examine it.

'Good enough for you?' Jayson pet his brother on the head.

'Sure thing little bro, you did well. Thanks for helping me out.' He dismissed Michahael and the boy was going to go back up to his room when he thought he really ought to check if Eliza was okay.

He slowly made his way over to her, not sure if he should bow to her or not, so he gave a small bow before sitting beside her.

'You're highness. Are you alright?' He asked in a quiet voice, averting his gaze so as not to embarrass her in any manner.

Eliza tilted her head up "Oh, hello there, Michalael." She tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear and gave a flash of a smile. It went on and off, like lights. "Everything's fine. And how are you?" She made polite small talk with the young man, her eyes flickering between his eyes and the ground. She knew she had the lightest of blushes on her pale cheeks and she looked down momentarily, pretending to smooth the midnight blue satin. She looked back up and gave a little nod. "Not to bother but have you seen Damien lately?"

Danni looked at the prince as he walked away now that that was over she might as well start getting ready for the festival, she left the castle and decided to go to the blacksmith, she had to hurry up and didn't have time to go anywhere fancy she passed a cople of streets until she got to the blacksmith, before she went in she saw the same boy sh'd seen with the prince, she walked over and said hello making sure the boy didn't see him she looked at the person she thought was the owner "do you have any swords?" she asked him, looking at the boy out the corner of her eyes "might I ask for his name?" she asked him

Elle nodded and watched her go, she heard her name and spun. The elder kids were coming towards her with boxes and she looked closer and there was makeup.
