Under the Shadow of The Old Oak Tree (Rp)

Danni watched as the young man kissed the prince, she was shocked, although she knew the secret of the prince she did not know why a random villager would come hear and present themself to the prince as such. Feeling she had seen enough she walked out of her hidding space and ran after him as he made his way towards the fence and got him just before he went over, she was sure to keep quite not wanting to alarm the guards, knowing he must at least have an explanation she wasn't usually like this but this was the prince.

Pulling the young man away she whispered "who are you?" to him, also keeping her eyes on the prince as well.

"Of course I am Jay," she bowed and winked. "And don't fear, I will not run away from you, till death do us part." she smiled. She had gotten used to the idea of an arranged marriage. She loved Jay, always will. "Speaking of the ceremony, I need something from you for tomorrow, I need a key. Just for a little magic thing. Can you do that?" she said with a serious, yet jokey face. "Do you accept your mission?" she pressed, with a mischievous smile. She awkwardly hugged Jayson back.

Michahael's eyes widened as someone stopped his escape. He turned to see a woman whom he recognised as one of the council members and his words failed him. She had seen... the words echoed through his mind and he tugged his arm out of her grip. Where had she been hiding? He cast a panicked look around the area. Had anyone else seen? He was surely going to be exiled for his actions. To have done such a thing... The teen was petrified. his brother would kill him surely. He knew he ought to say something, but if she knew his name.. she would surely tell the guards. He would be jeopardising everything his brother had worked towards. Finally he spoke.

'Mick.' he said simply, hoping she wouldn't press for a last name. He had ruined everything.

'A magic key? Isn't that a little... harry potterish?' He asked, teasing her. It was strange to think that he would be marrying the girl that he used to play cowboys and indians with as a child. Of course, he'd had a crush on her at some stage but he'd never told her that. He figured those trivial relations were just that. At the time of their father's death he'd even been considering asking her out. But that was some time ago now. Then everything had changed. And now, as if it was always meant to be, he was going to be married to her. He flashed her a smile. 'Do you have the details or 'blueprints' of the key required?' He asked, smiling playfully at her.

"One, just because I like Harry Potter, doesn't mean you have any right to criticise me for, as it was your favourite movie. Two, no but I can draw it on," she reached into her pocket, "This napkin!" she smiled as she pretended to be an infomercial, "Napkin, for all of your face and drawing needs!" she got out her pen and drew a simple key. "Ta da!" she said. "I'm such the artist, this should go in a gallery!" she couldn't believe this was who she used to play tiggy around her yard with. He'd changed so much. She'd had a little bit of a crush on him, but it passed, kind of. Then his dad died, she comforted him. Now they were getting married, it could've been kismat.

Danni kept a firm hold of the man he looked petrified so she decided to let him go but she kepth her eyes on him, ready to chase after him if he started running and ready to stop him if he decided to do anything stupid. "I'm not going to hurt you" she said to him her voice full of kindness "I just need to know who you are, your full name not just Mick and if you're lying I WILL know" she emphasised with the will and she wasn't realy going to know if he was lying she just hoped that it would make him talk more. "and why are you here with the prince" she asked her voice sounding much more serious.

Judith looked at the two love birds, they were talking about something but she hadn't been listening. She walked away through the strees and into the shop, no one was there so she decided to rest, she thought of taking a bottle of wine from the storeroom but she didn't want to get another glove so she put it out of her mind, after her reat it seemed the shop was still abandoned expect for her so she decided to wait for someone to come by the shop outside.

Jayson laughed softly, takign the napkin off of her.

'I might be able to do it if I could see the lock it's to.' He suggested, not wanting to turn her away. He liked her company. She had comforted him when she could after his father's death but he was quick to dismiss sympathy, moving forward as best he could. He regretted that now. Lightly he kissed the top of her head, smiling softly.

'Kristina, you are impossible.' He teased.

Michahael shook his head, refusing to answer. She would tell, he knew she would tell. He would end up exiled or forced to wear one of those gloves. Jayson would find out and it would be all over. He sank to the ground, burying his head in his hands. All the effort he had taken to conceal his secret, all the time it had taken to hide it.. wasted. He was doomed. He couldn't say a word, being totally mortified. The Prince.. Oh what would the prince think? Would he order the guards to track him down? Would they kill him? He didn't know. Maybe it was better if they did. His brother wouldn't have to deal with the shame of it all.

'He doesn't know me.. We had never met..' He said finally.

Isis wandered casually along the boughs of the Oak, taking her break from the seamstress' where she worked on the weekend. She noticed a girl with one of the gloves sitting in a stall and wandered in, glancing at the wares with interest.

'Hi, what kind of things do you sell here?' She asked in a friendly tone, fixing her hair in her reflection in a glass dish

"As I said, it's for a magic trick, no locks included, you're the one who's impossible." she kissed him back, sliding over the bench. "You and your technicalities," she scoffed jokingly. "It's not like I'm secretly planning to sneak into the royals place or anything. Pfft." she rolled her eyes, "Seriously, no locks, I just need a key. I"ll make it if you want." she shrugged. "Y'know if you're not up to it."

Damien got into the village without too many problems, luckily not many here had seen him since his return from exile, so many simply thought he was some acrobat.

he nodded to some locals as he walked past "huh.. everything seems different, yet unchanged... i wonder if Merideth still makes those pies i used to sneak off and have when i was little..."

he was in luck, he smelled them cooking not far away, walking towards the smell, the old lady baking turned around and saw him, and instantly

"I know that face anywhere... Damian! oh its so good to see you, it has been years!"

"y-you recognize me Merideth?"

"the last time i saw you, you didnt even see me, you were in you're royal robes, everyone thought you were going to be king inside a year, but then the exile happened... oh i'm so happy to see you've returned"

Damian hugged the old woman and she offered him a fresh bird meat pie

"here, just like you used to like it!... now i'm sure the returned prince has better things to do than talk to an old woman, run along now, go on, scoot!"

she waved him away, smiling he did as she wished, walking off.

Damian then came upon the blacksmith, he remembered this place too, he got his first sword here, walking in the front door, just finishing his meal, he saw everyone in there.

of course Damian had his long hair tied back in a ponytail, and in his commoner clothes he didn't look like a prince.

"hello there" he said smiling

Danni looked at the boy on the ground, she felt sorry for him, he looked scared, she looked into his eyes and gave a nod at his awnser "then why did you do it?" she knew she should have stoped the questions but she didn't and it was kind of her job she walked over and gently put his hands on his sholder "and your full name?" that was really all she needed to know his name if he didn't tell her she would surely have to report it to the other members of the council and she didn't want to so that so she hoped he would tell her his name.

Judith looked at the girl that had just came in "all types of drinks" she said grinning as she looked at the girl look at herself in the galss dish. "so what do you want?" she asked trying hard to pretent she didn't see her looking at her reflection "you look fine so don't worry about it" she giggled a little.

Elle had finished her shopping and was about to go back to the castle when she remembered she had left the parchment claiming that she had to marry thr prince, at Jays. She sprinted there and entered the shop, quickly picking up the paper and she said "sorry for interupting, I left it here and needed to grab it before i headed up to the castle, the kids want to make sure that I get good jewlery, i dont own any and never planed to just like with the heels." she muttered the last part to herself akd smiled at jay "but remember i need the sword by tommorow even if it is rushed i can take no chances with all the royals gathered there will be assasins left and right"

Jayson flicked her lightly with a towel he kept nearby.

'Get your behind off of my bench!' He ordered, joking around. 'you wouldn't know the difference between an anvil and the bellows little lady, so leave it to the experts.' He instantly became serious when he saw someone else.

'Well well, I AM popular. I've had numerous ladies, a silent lord,' he gestured to Loki who hadn't spoken yet, 'And a face I vaguely recognise but cannot place. How can i help you?' He asked, fixing his leather apron and putting the iron he was working with back into the fire.He really needed to focus but business it seemed was high today. He wondered where Michahael was. he could really use his help. He looked up to see Elle again. 'And she's back. Of course, I'll have it done by the ceremony tomorrow. And do me a favour, if you see Mick, tell him to come back. i need his help here.'

Damien watched the girl come on and grab her things as he was ignored

"whats this, was that a Royal seal on that parchment? must be important..."

he looked to the blacksmith (jay)

"hey, smithy... might i have a look at your best blades? i have a certain ceremony coming up you know, up the tree, reckon you got anything real fancy?... lets assume price isn't an option for a mo, what would you reccomend?"

Damien said this with a smile trying to keep up his "friendly commoner" appearance.

"Now, now. No need to be like that. I very much know the difference between the Anvil and the Bellows with me hanging around you so much. And I'm 4 inches taller than you, I'm no little lady," she smiled and flicked back her fringe.

Loki glared at Jay, he needed something but couldn't say it in front of everyone. He looked around, pretending to browse the empty smith's. Gosh, such hospitality. he complimented the boy mentally.

Elle laughed at jay and said "what if I never left?" she smiled andsaid "I will but remember i have afternoon martial ats called to teach." she said smiling sh only just noticed the other man "Oh im sorry im elle i teach up at the school." she sighed with relief when he said it will be dont and said "your the best, ill pick it up at ten." she flashed him a smile and then sye spilt the contense of her bag and she cursed colourfully somthing you dirnt hear frim a lady often. she gathered her things but her letter lie open on the floor and as she zipped up her bag she saw it in plain view

Jayson held up a hand to silence everyone.

'Alright! One at a time.' He turned to Damien. 'Terribly sorry about that, It's quite a busy day, being the day before the festival and all. And my younger brother has decided to play hookey on the day i need him most it seems. You asked to see my recommended stock?' He moved to the other side of the workshop, opening a cabinet to reveal several fine looking swords.

'Please browse at your lesiure while I deal with these other customers.' He said politely before going back to Elle.

'I promise it will be done by the time you come to pick it up. Payment on delivery as usual?' He asked, dealing with each person swiftly. He planted a kiss on Kristine's head.

'I'll have your key by this afternoon, if you ever stop distracting me.' He said with a laugh, taking her hand and kissing it lightly before shooing her away. 'Go see if you can find that layabout brother of mine would you?' He called after her, smiling. She was the only person to really break through his barriers. He turned to Loki, the silent man he'd never seen in his shop.

'How might i be of service to you today sir?' He asked, leanign over the bench before looking back to Damien.

'Are you alright there sir? Need any help?' he called out.

Loki nodded. "Waiting until everyone is gone." he said sinisterly.

Kristina rolled her eyes, "Fine, I'll go try and find Mick." she waltzed out of the shop and went to the royals place, first. Probably looking for something. She ran to the Castle. "Mick? Mick! Mick!!" she ran over to him. "Jay needs your help now. You decide to play hookey on the most important day of the year? Gosh." she then saw the woman. "What'd he do this time?" she asked the stranger.

Damien smiled "its fine, we all have our layabouts, theres one in every family" when he was shown the cabinet, he began looking through it "ooh, a nice selection..."

he browsed the stock, overhearing Jay talking with Elle, he couldnt help but smile inside his head, they had no idea who he truly was! he was certain he'd be spotted with ease.

when Jay came back to him, Damien reached ut and tapped the side of one sword in particular... gold trim, perfectly forged steel, and to top it all off, diamond tips on the blade, and the blade itself was made of hundreds of tiny "teeth" meaning this sword could not only slice, but could shred as well, a truly beautiful and devestating weapon.

"this one... lets say hypothetically, money isn't an issue even with this masterpiece... how much am i looking at?"

Damien was of course just humoring the good blacksmith, he had full intention of getting this beautiful blade.

Danni looked at the women that had just approached her and the man she heared her question and turned to look at her but her eyes still on the man. She didn't want to get him into troble so instead of telling her what she saw she just said "nothing all I need to know is his name, full name pefrebly" she said smiling at the lady and helpind the man up to his feet "excuse me miss but who are you?" she asked the lady.

Elle hurridly picked uo her letter and smiled "Mkay see ya Jay." she walked out of she shop glad no one saw her letter and she walked up to the palace nd when she got there the kings guards said he had asked her too meet him after her classes which finished . . . now oh well the kids would inderstand she heard some guards talling about going to get the prince an groaned she was sure hed hate her, never th less she walked to the kings study anxld kocked

"I'm a friend on Micks brother. Well, I'm his brother's fiance`." she still loved the sound of that. "And I'm not sure what his last name is right now, too many thoughts in my head." she said, dragging Mick off. "Okay, what did you do now, kid?" she pressed as they walked off.

Danni watched as the lady dragged the boy with her heading back to the village she still hadn'd gotten a name but she would get it eventually. she walked back to the fountain to see the prince surrounded by gaurds. had he call them or did they see everyting, she hoped they hadn't because if they had it would have been a dissaster. She walked over and dissmised them, she had a liltle bit of power to do that but they didn't seem to mind leaving. She looked at the prince " what was that about" she asked.

Jayson raised an eyebrow at Loki but said nothing. He didn't much like the tone the guy used but he wasn't one to turn dow a good customer.

'As you wish sir.' he said pleasantly before wandering over to look at the blade Damien had chosen.

'Oh, that one. Well she's a rare beauty that one. She was my father's last work. He never got to finish her, so i did it instead.' He smiled sadly at the memory of his father. One day, one day he would have the skills of his father. he was almost there, but he'd never quite got the last tricks before his father died. Eventually he;d learn, but for now he was doing the best he could. 'I wouldn't even dare to put a price on her, but she's well within the thousands at the very least. The blade design was my father's specialty.' He said with a proud smile, a salesman once more, rather than a mourning son. His father could wait to be remembered. his customers came first.

Michahael bit his lip as Kristine came along, saving him from the woman who had demanded to know his name. he walked along with her in silence for a while before answering.

'I wanted to speak to the Prince. I don't know why, I just wanted to.' He said quietly. He then looked her in the eye, grabbing her hand anxiously. 'Please, don't tell Jay where I was. I'll get into trouble again.' He begged, seeming more of a scared little kid than an eighteen year old.

'I didn't know it was going to get busy.. it was dead silent when I left, so i figured i could go for a bit. he didn't mind.'

"I won't Mick, y'know you've got to trust me more. I'll say you hurt yourself in the forest because you were looking for good rocks or metal or something. I'll say you scraped your knee." she got out a red marker and and black one too, drawing on Mick's knee a graze. "You've got the wound to prove it too." she smiled warmly and put her arm around him. "Again, I wouldn't tell Jay. You were doing your job and you had an accident. Voila`" she lead him to the store. "Found him, Jay. He was in the forest, picking up possible materials when he scraped his knee on a rock, didn't shed a tear when I found him, just doing his job. It was silent when he left, thought it would be silent for the whole day, isn't that right, Mick?"

Loki nodded in approval.

Damien looked behind him, then leaned back

"yes... a blade like that belongs with the son of the master who crafted it... after all..."

he leaned towards Jay, speaking in hushed tones

"i guess you'd like one of your own blades on display on Prince Damien's hip, one of your own making, yes?"

he smiled to the man "... oh!" he remembered he was trying not to reveal himself, not make some dramatic appearance like that, he was lost in his own fantasy for a second "I-I'm a servant of Prince Damien, he has sent me to retrieve the finest blade on offer for his upcoming wedding while he.. uhh... is fitted for his clothes for the big day!"

Damien hoped like hell this blacksmith would believe him... if not, he had plenty to buy this blacksmith's silence...

Jonah's checks flushed red as soon as their lips met. He stood completely still as if the world just froze for the second and he let go running off. He couldn't really care as he put his hands on his lips "This wasn't the first time this happened but it was the first time another man had the courage to even attempt it, which to him wasn't a bad thing at all.". After a minute of thinking over what just happened he shook his head trying to wipe the color off his cheeks as he called for 3 of the guards. Jonah decided to try and take his mind off of everything he might as well prepare for the next event for the kingdom. He thought for a moment as the guard appeared all chanting "Sir" in unison. Jonah could never help but laugh a bit at that. "First could you go fetch maybe a cleaner robe" he asked the first guard as he received a nod in response and ran to fulfill his instructions. "I need you to get a horse ready and if you would please inform my father that I'm leaving for the time being" he said as he got the same response and they went off. "Ill start with getting a new sword to wear" he thought out loud thinking of one he might want when he noticed Danni and sighed "He was just a crazed admirer is all" he said sighing walking off in the direction as what he requested should be about ready.
