Undead Apocalypse [Inactive]

"Then again.. I fight for my friends..", Nagisa said, sliding off of the crates and gripping her fallen knife. She rushed towards the waves and began to stab and detach the zombie's limbs, laughing as she did so.

"Just run.."

"We can either all die fighting and be stupid heroes, or maybe we could run but.. I feel better this way.."

Nagisa stepped back as a zombie clawed towards her, it's right hand scratched her stomach viciously, tearing off a bit of flesh but more of skin.

She bit her lip and grabbed the zombie's arm, flinging it into the wall behind the fighters, she then ran towards it and tore through it's chest.

"We'll see how you like it.."

Rena ran into the fray as well. She wasn't surprised that no one had taken her suggestion--being leader was Adarian's job, after all. With quick movements she dodged around zombie attacks and stabbed one in the skull. She stepped back, clutching her knife in one hand and medical kit on the other. She stayed near the edge of the horde, trying to avoid being attacked while giving her the opportunity to attack the ones on the edge.

Nagisa sighed and looked back at her friends... What was the point?

Even if they were to fight they were just going to survive another night, what about the next one? And the next one? It didn't make sense, why didn't they just end their suffering here?

But then again.. No one deserves to die so soon, they were all so young, even if it was a destroyed world they were now in they had all found a new goal, to survive, to care for each other. Did she enjoy this new life? Was she insane for doing so? Nagisa didn't know, but she knew one thing. They had to survive and live as long as possible, they had to fulfill their new goals somehow.

Nagisa sighed and ran towards the window and leapt, falling against the hard ground. She bit her lip and screamed inside as the ground scraped her left arm, as she had turned mid-air whilst falling. She then got up, limping.

Nagisa started heading towards another warehouse not too far away from theirs, leaving a bloody trail.

An explosion erupted from the other warehouse, hopefully enough to distract the Horde. Firey debris flew all around the building, bashing into the grounds around the group's warehouse.

Dan managed to take out an undead monster with just about every swing of his crowbar. As he took a moment to catch his breath he noticed some of the group heading for the broken window. Slowly, Dan retreated towards the window, fending off the ghouls with every step back. Before jumping through the window, he motioned for the others to follow.

He noticed a second warehouse in the distance, now smoldering, having looked as though it had exploded. Fearing for the safety of Rena and Nagisa, Dan ran for the other warehouse.

A third of the horde turned and started stumbling towards the now burning building. The rest are focused on storming into the current building searching for flesh.

@Rough Hands You hear a low growl and get the feeling your being followed. (Just added a new zombie "hunters" if you want to check it out)

Dan was nearly to the warehouse when he noticed he was being followed by the horde. He looked for a quick escape and found it in the form of a ladder on the side of a building next to the warehouse--Dan sprinted as fast as he possibly could until he reached it and climbed as if flames were licking at his heals. The climb felt nearly 100ft. high, but Dan knew it couldn't have been more than 50; still, on the roof he collapsed and laid their for a moment before sitting up and looking over the edge at the smoldering warehouse. "It looks like everybody is split up. I lost Rena on the run over here, and I don't see any sign of Nagisa in that building."

His attention turned back to the rooftop he was on, and his current situation of being stranded up there without the precious supplies he had brought into the first warehouse. "HA! Just my luck, huh? I should've seen that coming..."

The flames grew higher and nearby barrels caught fire and exploded, hurtling bits of flaming debris everywhere, the heat was almost unbearable, and the fire was spreading like the world was made of gasoline.

Rena, upon hearing the explosion, had whipped her head around to look out the window. A warehouse nearby had gone up in flames. That must have been Nagisa! She looked back at the entrance, where an endless line of zombies had finally taken notice of her hiding in the corner by the window. Knowing that she had very little time left since they had spotted her, she jumped through the window and landed outside. She glanced around, hoping to see someone, but quickly ducked around the side of the warehouse at seeing zombies unsuccessfully clawing a ladder. Had Dan gone up there? She knew she couldn't yell--not only would it attract attention to her, but there was no way she could get up the ladder now even if she wanted to.

Biting her lip in thought, she tried to think of what to do. Maybe there was another ladder on the other side of the warehouse? With that hope, she started running around the back and rounded the corner, expecting at any moment to hear zombies coming after her.

Dan had finally caught sight of Rena running around the building, attempting to outrun the undead horde. He jumped to his feet and began running around the roof looking for another ladder, or anyway he could get Rena to safety. On the exact opposite side of the the building was another ladder--Now Dan just had to get Rena's attention without drawing the horde...

Rena paused and looked back, trying to catch her breath. She could still hear the moaning somewhere around the corner, but her lungs desperately needed a rest, as short as it may be. Suddenly, a small rock fell down from the roof and bounced near her feet, startling her. She glanced up to see someone on the roof, and recognized it as Dan. She smiled with relief, barely stopping herself from calling out his name.

Dan did his best to silently coax Rena to head up the ladder, knowing she would be safe on the roof with him. He was wildly waving his hands above his head and making gestures that even the best mime or Pictionary player couldn't figure out.

Rena closed her knife and tucked it into her pocket. She then quickly ambled up the ladder, her progress slowed only slightly by the medical kit she still grasped in one hand. "Are you alright? You don't have any injuries, do you?" she asked quietly once she had made it onto the roof.

"I'm dandy, but our water and the rest of our supplies are back in that warehouse," Dan nodded towards the building now being overrun by a swarm of flesh-eating zombies. "And we've lost the others. Masie and Savvanah are still in there... I think. Nagisa... blew up with the other warehouse." Dan sat down scratching his head.

I hadn't paused in my slaying, my hatred and anger only fueling my actions. I was running on adrenaline. I was taking the zombies four or five at a time, decapitating and slicing furiously.

Rena turned away for a moment to get a handle on the sadness washing over her. There was a good chance that Nagisa was dead, and there's no telling whether the others survived...She took a deep breath before looking back at Dan. "They're all strong. I bet they're still alive and trying to find us right now. And Nagisa...well...she's Nagisa. She wouldn't die that easily." she tried to convince herself. "Anyway, I think our main concern is the fact that we can't get down now with all of those zombies swarming the ladders."

I shrieked as one zombie clawed my arm, but quickly killed it. Muttering a profanity, I continued with killing frenzy.

"You're right. We can't lose hope just yet," Dan ran his fingers through his short hair. "But I don't think we're exactly stranded. I think we can get inside this building--there's a skylight over there." Dan pointed. "Then we can wait for the horde to pass, if we don't draw any more attention."
