Leone

One month ago,

It was a dark night, just the kind that Leone hated. But it'd have to do. Today was the day everything mattered. With this latest robbery, he'd finally have enough money to board a ship to reach Vale, and his new future. He had already supplied enough for his family, and his father had found a job in the dust buisness, something that would doubtlessly pay for them all. He had left a note behind, detailing his plans, before he had left. He shook his head, trying to concentrate. He watched the truck approach, flanked by guards on both sides on horseback, as he pulled the brown bandanna over his mouth, and took a couple steps back, before getting a running start, and leaping onto the top of the truck.

The guards heard the thud as he landed, and one of them jumped onto the truck's ladder from his horse, climbing up. When the guard reached the top, he received a boot to his face, sending him falling off the back of the truck, landing on the street with a smack, as Leone grabbed the ladder, sliding down it. He whipped out one of his guns, aiming it towards the nearest guard He had loaded stolen Police-grade Shock Charges as always, instead of bullets, pulling the trigger as the nearest guard raised his gun. The man was blasted off his horse, flying into the wall of a nearby house. However, Leone didn't watch to see what had happened, as he was already reaching down, inserting the code he had stolen into the key pad, as the truck's back door opened, letting him inside. He grabbed the door's bottom, using it to slide himself under, activating his semblance a little to go faster. The surprised guard was swept off his feet by Leone's feet as they blasted into his shins, and he fell onto his face. Leone got up, shooting a shot into the man's back, knocking him out. He opened the door into the truck's cab, and ordered the driver to stop. When the truck came to a halt, the driver opened the door to get out, but was blasted out by another shot from Leone's guns. The third guard was way ahead, but he was turning around now, as Leone dived out the side, firing his last loaded shock charge. It hit the guard's horse, causing both the guard and his mount to go tumbling head over heels.

Leone brushed some sweat off his brow, heading back into the truck. "I've secured the shipment," he muttered into an ear piece. "Good," a voice responded, "Bring the truck to the usual rendezvous point." To this, Leone said nothing, taking a seat as he drove away into the night.

Current,

Now, Leone stood within the vessel's polished interior, leaning against the wall, his weapons,
Duplex Khopeshi, folded at his sides, his arms crossed over his chest. He looked around, his green eyes scanning the crowd, wondering who had the most money on them, and was the least likely to notic- He shook his head, stopping himself. This is why he came to Vale, to leave that life behind. He wasn't going to be a thief anymore. He was going to be a hunter, a life truly worth living. He watched the crowd, nothing instead, the weapons the others carried. Some of them looked quite expensive and complicated, which, when he looked down at his own weapons, made him feel just a little obsolete. He didn't see anyone yet who looked like they'd be open to conversation, so he turned his head, looking out the window, watching the vessel fly over Vale.

Redmond Clancy was one of the people near the windows of the vessel. However, while there were many looking out the window at the city below, Redmond was sitting down at the opposite wall while reading a comic. Vale from above may have been an impressive sight for all he knew, but he was too immersed in his comic to notice. But why wouldn't he? His parents had bought him a few volumes of his favorite comic series. He wondered if anyone else here was a fan of Wandering Samurai Kaito, but then he figured that if there were any fans they'd come to him since he had his comic out in the open.

Kurisu was, for once in his life, quiet. He decided it best to shut up when he was in the air. He hated heights, and the fact that this vessel was almost entirely window didn't help at all. He just quietly slumped back into his seat and hoped this hellish ride would be over soon. Hopefully this Beacon Academy or whatever would be worth the terrifying trip there..

Three years. Three years in the city of veil and already Odesse had seen the last vestiges of her life stripped away. Her home and shop burned, her mother long buried, everything she had all gone to ash. But she had never been one to sit and whimper and cry about things that it was no longer within her power to change. Instead she has spent the past couple of years rebuilding, finding purpose again in a world of human hatred and endless chaos.

One of the few things she had managed to reclaim in all this time was a place of her own. It was nothin special, a small apartment over a cafe in a district known for its art. The apartment had been the recommendation of one of her friends in the White Fang. Odesse was one of the few lucky Faunus who could hide her traits and she had managed to settle in occasionally preforming at ballets at a local theater.

Opening the door to her apartment Odesse made her way through stacks of books and papers and scattered instrument cases. Reaching her bed she sat down uttering a soft sigh. On the floor surrounding her bed were large bags, stuffed with books and papers as well as a silver case holding her dust and her precious Crystal Lotus. She was in the middle of packing. Soon enough she would leave this place in pursuit of her new goal, attending Beacon Academy to become a recognized Huntress.

Schizo sighed, now aboard the vessel he realized that he really hadn't done anything to allow entrance to Beacon, he hadn't finished school, he didn't take a test to prove that all the skill he had as a child was still present. He had been falling into a haze of guilt he looked out the window hoping to take his mind off the negative thoughts, the view was a sight to see he had never seen the town from up so high, even the sight of Signal academy was kinda cool from the perspective. He could see beacon academy in the distance and was already beginning to be himself again.

Jinie sighed. She wanted to talk with someone but her unsociable self had taken over again, preventing her from starting a conversation with somebody. Instead, she decided to just look out a window and down to the scene that many people aboard this ship marveled at.

She took a position in a place where less people were. She had already received a few weird stares from others, letting her silently know they wanted to avoid her. She will avoid them too if that would make them happy. Once again, she let out a sigh and just immersed herself in taking in the scenery. It was nice and in fact, it was probably the first time she had a proper bird's eye view of any city.

She looked to her left, studying the one person who was also looking out the same window. Brown hair, green eyes.. she then looked away after realizing that she might be staring too much. She didnt mean to starte but she at least wanted to familiarize herself with her soon to be classmates.

Leone turned, looking around for a moment, feeling watched. His deep green eyes fell upon Jinie, and he smiled a little as she looked away. He walked over, still grinning. "Well hello there," he said simply, making a mock bow. "I am Leone Ambrial," he continued, pulling himself back up to his full height. He wasn't that much taller than her, actually, only an inch or two. "And you are?" he inquired, his eyes spotting the two items on her belt, presumably her weapons. From the rather discreet manner in which he observed them, it'd seem that this was a habit, always examining someone's weapons. He was quite curious about the girl infront of him, carrying herself almost as if she didn't want to be in this crowd.

It felt scary on how a year ago she's not supposed to be here. According to his father plan, Thana is supposed to be send to Atlas to marry a young handsome military officer. That, is the original plan.

And now here she is, standing in the middle of the new batch of students of Beacon in Vale. Thana gripped Vortex tightly, as if she wanted to slash anyone who's standing too close to her into two.

Yui stood in the far corner of the airship for the duration of the flight. She was really nervous, not at the prospect of being in Beacon, but because of the crowds of people that was going to be with her. "I wish mom could just teach me in private." She murmured to herself, well, not just to herself.

"Oh quit being such a crybaby and suck it up for once. You do nothing but lock yourself up in your room, dragging me along with you as well! Why can't I just be a separate being." A part of her consciousness, one that calls herself Gemini, replied.

"I-I know, b-but I can't help it. B-besides, I'm not great with people, especially because of you. You just pop out at the most awkward of times." She replied, although she hoped that Gemini didn't hear that. "
I was trying to help you, you dimwit! What was I suppose to do, just stay there and stay quiet as those morons harass you?!" She screamed, which was thankfully only heard by Yui. "T-They weren't harassing me, t-they just wanted to borrow my homework." She replied, her hair turning slightly pink due to her anxiousness, also because Gemini is trying to force herself to come out.

Oh my god, that girl is such a freak. She's cute, but she must really be messed up in the head if she's talking to herself in public. Jeez, somebody give this girl a life. These were just some of the insults she heard in public, although she really couldn't blame them. Even she thinks of herself as a freak. If only she could blame it all on Gemini, but she knew she was also at fault for being too distant and shy.

At any moment, Yui was about to have an outburst and Gemini will take over. But thankfully, the airship landed at this very moment. "W0w." Both Yui and Gemini remarked as they saw Beacon. "T-this is even more wonderful than what mom had said." She said, unable to help herself but gape as she viewed her surroundings. "
Yeah, no kidding. Mom wasn't able to capture the beauty of it." Gemini said, strangely enough agreeing with Yui. "I just hope things will be better here, although I highly doubt it." She mumbled as she followed the other students, making sure to stay away from them though.

'Great, another wave of students' Thana thought. She sighed and move to the side, close to the wall. Thana watched how the other students are whispering at the sight if her. She doesn't know what they are talking about didn't care about it as well.

If she needs friend, then her teammates would be more than enough.

Jinie slightly flinched when the man beside her had spoken. She had expected different words to come out of him but instead, he seemed rather friendly towards her She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at him, amused.

"Are you talking to me?" she asked, generally quite surprised that he had decided to talk to her but she mentally slapped herself soon after she had spoken those words. Of course he was. There was no one else near them at the moment and he was obviously looking at her. She cleared her throat before looking back out the window. "I'm Jinie Rosevier. N-Nice to meet you." she replied, trying to think of the proper words so he would not see her as trouble as a first impression. He saw her glance at her weapons, which she didn't mind. It was not like she was hiding them and she knew that soon enough, she would be seeing eveyone's capabilities.

Leone chuckled at her reaction, raising one brown eyebrow. "Why yes, I am indeed talking to you," he replied, shifting his stance slightly as she looked out the window. "Nice to meet you too, Jinie Rosevier," he greeted, still smiling. He could clearly tell her social skills needed some work, but that wasn't something that mattered too well in this line of work. They were hunters after all. Their purpose was to kill Grimm, not talk to people. Although, a good team required proper communication between all members. "You excited?" he asked, as the vessel landed, its door opening, as the breeze blew in, revealing the path to the academy. "Well, this is my stop," he joked, beginning to move towards the door with the rest of the crowd, as they streamed outside and down the path, their "Ohs" and "Ahs" quite apparent, and even Leone had to admit he was a little impressed by the place.

"In some way, I am." she told him. She really wanted to make new friends and above all, become a full pledge huntress. She couldn't think of any other way for her to use her skills for good. He bid her farewell as the ship came to a halt. It seems they were at their destination. She took a deep breath, calming her excitement and also her nervousness, before following the small throng of students outside.

She marveled at the sight before her. Beacon was grand, even better than what she had imagined and definitely a sight whose beauty that cannot be captured in a mere photograph. She grinned, happiness bubbling inside of her. She took her time checking out the place before going into the reception area for the new students.

Schizo had been lost a thought thinking about how fun it will be to fight grimm oddly enough he had been fighting grimm just yesterday, he assumed fighting at a school would warrant a greater honor then pointless hunting. The crowds moved towards the now open door, though he hadn't noticed and even if he did he liked being the caboose, if he were to walk ahead he would feel like the prey. Finally off the vessel he gawked at the amazing scenery that stood before him "Amazing, feels like home already" he chuckled to himself which caused people to look at him he had not noticed until now but he was different, he dressed like a ancient warrior and had an eye patch and carried a nasty green upon his face. He was even a bit larger than most of the students though it made him proud he didn't want people to think he was a bully or anything negative, he was a friendly person. He grunted which didn't help and caused people to avoid him, he walked the path into the school and found himself in a room filled with new students.

Leone entered the reception room, looking around the large, dome-topped amphitheater-esque room, as he sifted in amongst the crowd, standing amongst them as he made some small talk with those around him. A bright, burning smile was upon his face, and he was practically ablaze with excitement. He simply couldn't believe it, being here, in the prestigious Beacon Academy, the thing he had wanted his entire life, to begin his new life as a Hunter. He wondered what their HeadMaster would have them do first, would they pick teams? Would they attend classes? Check out their dorms? Would there be a test? He couldn't see anyone on the stage yet, the headmaster was probably waiting for the stragglers to enter the large room.

((This is the point where we wait for the rest of you to show up.))

Yuri decided not to communicate with anyone on the way to beacon, the airship was basically a flying window or at least they were windows every where, still it helped to know that home would be nearby means he wouldn't feel very homesick still not like he would want to go back to that life, the boring life of a rich person making others do your work for you not after that event when he found himself powerless no never again would he not be able to protect another and require help doing so after all he wouldn't want to lose the one family member he cared about if he could prevent it.

The airship stopped not to long after meaning they where at the place he's spent years training to get to Beacon academy, he was over halfway their now just one more school to finish and he can be what he always wanted to be a hunter. Waiting for most other people to exit the Airship first to avoid being pushed out of the door he found himself as one of the last on the airship. To must he would look completely unarmed other than having a giant backpack on his back one of the forms of his weapon "The Rejector". Exiting the Airship he took a look at the building in front of him. It was magnificent it puts the Kennomura manner to shame and that's not something easily done.

Watching as the crowd of other new years all stumbled, jogged, ran or walked in the same direction he followed and ended up at a large reception room. Thoughts crossed his mind with the first being on the architect who made Beacon whoever it was he was a genius proved by this school and its magnificent style. He wanted to know what the Headmaster would have in mind for them first, he had heard the rumors of teams heck if your going to Beacon you can't miss them so would that be first or some other test or activity of sorts.

As Redmond was about to get to a suspenseful part of his comic, the vessel landed and the others were heading out. The comic would have to wait. Redmond put his comic in his bag and walked out with the others. Some were more eager than others, so he found himself giving way to the people bumping into him as they ran past. He hoped that none of the people who bumped into him would act like the stereotypical bully and demand that he apologize.

After making his way to the reception room, he stood with the other students and remained quiet. There didn't seem to be anyone on the stage, so Redmond assumed that the initiation hadn't started yet. He figured that this would be the perfect time to get back to the suspenseful part of his comic, so he got it out of his bag and continued where he left off.

As the ship landed Kurisu was in more than a hurry to make his way off the ship, pushing people out of his way, "Thank fuck..." he said under his breath. As he found himself on his platform, he made sure he had everything he had brought.. Hooked blades, check.... That's about it.. Yay.. He quickly dashed into the reception room, only to see dozens upon dozens of other new students as well. He began praying to Christ he didn't get stuck with a shitty team..

It is far to crowded...

Odesse sighed, chiding herself quietly for such a though. Of course it was crowded. After all it was the beginning of a new year at Beacon and much like herself many new hunters and huntresses to be were arriving for orientation. Still the reception hall was indeed crowded, packed with the many bodies of both human and Faunus alike. Bags took up nearly as much space as the bodies did. Odesse was not a fan of crowds, partially because as a Faunus she viewed humans as unpredictable especially in large numbers but also because her training had left her with a wariness of crowds. To many variables that could occur.

Setting her suitcase down in a quite area of the back that sit afforded her a good glimpse of the stage Odesse perched herself atop it. Pulling the thin silver case that held her weapon on to her lap she began to let her gaze sweep the gathered bodies. Weapons of all kinds could be glimpsed in holsters and cases or openly cradled in the arms of the others. It was not the weapons themselves that so much interested her as the capability of those who wielded them. But she would learn that overtime. For now her true concern was when orientation would begin. The sooner she could get out of this crowd the better.

Dr. Xavius

A figure strode onto the stage, walking purposely towards the microphone, as much of the room fell quiet. The woman's flat-bottomed shoes made dull thudding sounds as she walked, before she took a stand behind the microphone, her light brown eyes scanning over the room, a rather stern and serious look on her face. "Greetings, ladies, gentlemen, and welcome to your first year at Beacon Academy," she said quite emotionlessly, though a flicker of a smile was present on her face. Some clapping and cheering burst through the crowd, and she waited patiently until it all quieted down. "You all travelled a long distance on a hard path to reach this point, but let me tell you, this is merely the beginning of your journey. Wherever you came from, whether it be Vacuo," loud shouts from places amongst the crowd, clearly those from Vacuo. "Or Atlas," more cheering, "Mistral," another wave of cheering, "Or here in Vale," another cheer, this one slightly louder than the rest. "It does not matter. HERE, you are students at Beacon Academy!" the crowd broke out into loud cheering. "However, no matter what came before, this leg of your journey will be the hardest. In fact, not all of you will make it to the end of this year. Some of you may be injured, and some of you may even die." she said matter of factly, judging the audience's reactions before continuing. "In fact, last year, 1/6 of our incoming class was wiped out by the year's end. But, as a result, those who made it through are stronger, smarter, and faster than any this academy has ever produced before. Throughout the next four years, you will learn how to take your place amongst those few who make it. You will learn how to become Huntsman." she continued. "Some of you have come, believing in a more..... romanticized version of the huntsman, and let me tell you now, you are quite wrong. Huntsman are warriors, expected to lay down their very lives before the citizens of this world with no hesitation. And it is quite likely, that you will never receive even a speck of recognition for your services. So, those of you expecting to be heroes, I kindly ask you to leave the campus." she stated, her eyes cutting through the crowd, as one male turned to leave, and then another, and more, as many students began to leave. A solid 1/4 of their number. Those amongst the crowd who had wished that there were less people, had ironically gotten their wish. "Well then. Those of you that remain should head to the cafeteria, where sleeping bags have been laid out for you. For tonight, you all will sleep there, but come tommorow....." she smirked, "We will commence." she waited for a few seconds, "Welcome to Beacon Academy," she finished, before turning and striding away, and through a door, leaving everyone in the crowd, as teachers appeared, beginning to direct them to the cafeteria, which they would find, was cleared of tables and filled instead with sleeping bags.

Colt had to sneak into the auditorium because the airship was late. He listened to the... principal? He watched as many students left as she said her last sentence and was surprised to find that the group had definitely shrunk. Colt walked slowly towards the cafeteria hoping he could find someone to talk to. He kept his blue eyes under his gray hair looking around for anyone but to his dismay many people had already found friends to talk to. He walked in to see everyone undressing and some guys having no shame so he walked over to a sleeping bag and sat on top. I need to get some friends he thought.

Odesse had exited the auditorium no sooner than the speech had ended. She was indeed pleased with her first impression of their principle, a stern yet practical woman by all appearances. The woman had not even blinked when 1/4 of the the new students had chosen to leave before the year even began. But she did agree, those whose idea of being a huntsman was some romanticized notion of heroics and recognition would not last long. Being a huntsman was much like being a soldier; fighting and dying to defend others. That much she was ready for. However the prospect of spending the night packed into the cafeteria with the rest of the newcomers was not something she was so ready for. Facing down monstrous beasts who could easily rip her apart was easy for Odesse, socializing however was not.

Entering the cafeteria Odesse quietly made her way towards one of the far windows. Though this would be a good time to get to know some of the others who she would be with for the next for years she opted for observance. As it was many had already found little groups and gathered. Odesse saw very few other Faunus among the humans, many of whom were to theirselves or clustered tightly together. Shaking her head she settled down on a sleeping bag just beneath the window. Pulling over her case she opened it, carefully removing the 12 blades that formed her Crystal Lotus. Glancing up briefly she soon set to work on carefully cleaning and oiling the blades.

Leone

Leone left the auditorium quite impressed. Their headmaster had clearly showed them just what they could expect from her and this school, leaving no room for mistake. But even he was surprised, when a whole fourth of their student body walked out on them when their headmaster had told them about the lift of a hunter. Personally, he was a little disappointed at that, but he wouldn't walk out now. He couldn't walk out now.. He had spent years working up to this, and would not go back to Vacuo. He walked amongst the crowd, picking a sleeping bag towards the middle of the room, casually greeting those nearby, as he set down his rather small bag. He stretched a little, looking around as many others either already went to sleep, or were chatting. He spotted a girl beneath the window, cleaning and oiling her blades, deciding he'd talk to her later. Instead, he walked over to a gray-haired kid sitting alone on his sleeping bag. Leone walked over, standing infront of him. "Well hello there!" he said merrily, before making yet another mock bow. "I am Leone Ambrial," he said, pulling himself back up. "And you are?"

As Kurisu walked into the Cafeteria he quickly seen how packed it was, people literally sleeping everywhere, on tables, chairs, on the floor. Ew. "Sleeping in here? Cramped next to all these people? Nooo thank you." However, he decided he may as well take a look around, maybe meet some people. He eventually found his way to the far windows and propped himself up and sat on one of the sills of it. He noticed a woman next to him cleaning and oiling a dozen blades, eventually finding himself just calmly watching her do so, albeit in an unknowingly creepy manner.

Colt sat next to hardly anyone everyone thought he had an eerie vibe or something like that. He grabbed his book and started reading and heard the conversation going on next to a girl cleaning her blades. They are probably perverts or there isn't very interesting conversation he thought. He was thinking about walking over there but he wasn't into crowds instead he just kept reading and eavesdropping in on others conversations.
