Tori always wanted to set out on an adventure.


For the past two years, Tori has been training to become a traveling warrior. With his training finally complete, he embarks on a journey to help others and find excitement. However, he is inexperienced in actual field experience, so he is still learning how to use his combat abilities.

Personality: Vermilia has 3 main traits to her personality, her lady-like behavior and morals, her impressionable and happy go lucky attitude, and her instinct for adventure and survival. her lady-like behavior stems from her early childhood, being raised to treat people kindly and to trust those she thinks deserves it. Her easygoing personality was due to her father's influence on her teaching her to making the most of what little time they have and to live and die with a smile on their face. Her adventurous personality was always something she seemed to have but her father was the one who showed her or at least told her the meaning of being a human and being the type of people they are. The gist of what he told her was that the only thing human beings need to do in life is die yet they chose to survive as if they can stop it or at least delay it long enough to leave something important so they can be remembered in memory and in history, they are something different, they don't want to survive they want to thrive and leave something behind to be remembered until the end of the world and even after that. This became her motto.


Weapon(s): She only has one weapon which is a large great sword shaped very much like a Odachi only bigger in both height and width. She also carries a small dagger.


Powers: She has two main powers which both take a different stance. The first stance is "Quickdraw" which has the user attacking quickly.This stances ability allows the user to create vacuum orbs that slash opponents repeatedly. A few of these orbs can be created for crowd control. Also uses the scabbard of the sword for none lethal blows. The second stance is called "Powerbreak" which focuses on stronger, slower strikes that breaks armor and shields alike while being more prone to to receiving damage the attacks are overall stronger(but a lot slower) than "Quickdraw".


While having to main powers she can also slightly manipulate wind due to the pure strength and speed she can wield her sword with, however this is limited to making range razor sharp wind attacks and is her second form of ranged combat (the first being the vacuum orbs from "quickdraw").


Finally her biggest power is her insane speed, she can travel at such high speeds that it almost seems like she teleported. Sadly in order for her to do this she is require to drop her main weapon, but even with her main weapon she is still very fast.

Biography: Her parents let her when she was only ten and later on she found out they were both monster hunters so she wanted to follow in their foot steps and at aged 20 she did. Training her self to get stronger Vermilia decided to best training would be combat so at age twenty she bought a sword and left the town she grew up in. That was seven years ago in seven years she had learned a lot but she still doesn't feel full prepared to try and track down her parents.

Appearance: Jeff has bright blonde hair and light blue eyes. He wears a white shirt, a light gray jacket, and dark blue pants. Jeffrey stands at about 5 feet 10 inches, and is a bit on the skinny side.


Personality: Jeff has kind of a nice, energetic personality, and can get along with just about anyone. He even tends to be very optimistic, tending to look at the positive side of things most of the time. He is also very skilled with his magic, but is quite modest about it. However, even though he is a happy guy most of the time, he doesn't like feeling alone.


Powers: Lightning magic and insane reflexes. Can also absorb electricity to become more powerful.


Weapons: A somewhat short, lightning bolt shaped sword that amplifies his magic power


Bio: Jeff was born to a family of adventurers. He always seemed thrilled about the idea of adventuring, even as a child. To him, nothing seemed more fun than discovering what no one else has seen, battling evil monsters, and collecting untold riches. He even practiced lightning magic in hopes of becoming a strong mage. However, Jeff's father was killed by monsters when he was about 15. This didn't stop Jeffrey though. With his honed skills in lightning magic, he set off for a life of adventure a year later, in hopes of doing what his dad couldn't.

Personality: (Write as much as you want here. Doesn't have to be a lot) Quiet, reserved, and most of all someone who doesn't like to answer questions yet asks others as many as possible. Vivo is the type of person who treats friends as family, and will die without a second thought for them, however his distrust in others makes it very hard to even have a mild conversation. Despite this, Vivo is extremely dependable and hard-working, with a record of zero jobs unfinished. Vivo often acts very cocky, but this is merely a bluff, as he rarely attacks someone he thinks is out of his league.


Weapon(s): A katana that he was given to by his grandfather. Vivo is skilled in most types of swords, however has never used any other type of weapon in his life.


Powers: Soul Style A fighting style that allows the user to control the energy of their soul, in the form of a fire, the more emotional the user is the hotter and more intense the flames become. Although this style is fairly easy to learn and anyone is able to learn it, it is extremely hard to not only master, but also has hundreds of different techniques that can beat each other(kinda like rock, paper, scissors!).


Currently, Vivo knows only knows one technique, Baby Flame, however has heard rumors of one called "Demon's Mouth", that can supposedly cut through fire and melt ice. The Baby Flame technique allows him to catch the edge of his blade on fire, burning any who are even lightly cut by it.


Extra: (Equipment, special armour, accessories, etc. Anything else that your character may have that doesn't fit in the other categories) He will sometimes use the sheath of his katana to guard attacks if the enemy is too fast or strong for him, but it does not happen very often.


Biography: (Write as much as you want here, doesn't have to be a lot. Mainly explain why they would want to become an adventurer, bounty hunter, monster hunter, etc or why they are one already) Raised by his two parents until his 10th birthday, he was trained and taken care of his grandfather for the next 5 years. This training not only taught him the ways of the sword, but also the Soul Style: Baby Flame technique, which allowed Vivo to light the edge of his blade on fire. After Vivo turned 15, his grandfather sent him to live on his own in the wild for 3 years as a test.


When Vivo came back to the village, and showed he had succeeded, his grandfather gave him the family's sword and the entire village threw a party for his return. The next day, his grandfather gave him three choices:


1) Stay in the village, and help defend it from any dangerous individuals, 2) Marry into a wealthy and powerful family from another village, or 3) learn all the Soul Style techniques along with becoming the strongest swordsman in the world. Vivo chose the third option as the the other two seemed too easy, and left the village after packing some supplies. He now hunts down and defeats strong opponents to make his name known along with to get stronger.

Race: Ice/Forest Slime Hybrid


Forest Slime
Forest Slimes are the most common type of Slime found, usually residing in forests or fields, hence their namesake. They generally take on humanoid forms, as they're the most convenient for combat. Some Slimes have the ability to morph parts of their body, most commonly used to create blades out of their arms.


As their bodies are made up mostly of water, they are very vulnerable to cold, as they freeze just as water does. They have to keep a close eye on their water absorption, as too much will destroy their forms and kill them, while too little will end up evaporating them, with the same result. Slimes are also immune to fire, for obvious reasons, though due to the previously mentioned evaporation heat can become an issue over time.
Ice Slime
A rarely-encountered variant of Slime, Ice Slimes reside in frozen tundras, constructing villages out of ice. They are experts at building things out of ice alone, and have created different kinds of ice for different situations. Being of the ice element, they are immune to cold, unlike the Forest Slimes, but are much more vulnerable to extreme heat (Minor heat is usually dealt with by their naturally cold body temperatures). They still have to watch water absorption, though due to their habitat they don't have to as closely.

Personality: Serious and blunt, and although she acts indifferent most of the time she is protective of her friends and family


Powers (Putting this first because it's central to her weapons, below): Ice magic; She can create formations of ice, large and small, out of thin air. She can only create so much, however, and has to either wait for it to melt or melt it herself using her powers before creating more. Her limit, if she were to create a solid block of ice with her magic, is about half the size of your average one-story house. She has inherited an invulnerability to cold and vulnerability to heat from her Ice Slime side, and the vulnerability to water from her Forest Slime side.


Weapons: Dual swords, created using her ice magic. She maintains them with her magic throughout battle. She also occasionally uses a sword and shield, if she's feeling more defensive, also created and maintained the same way.


Biography: Born from an Ice Slime and Forest Slime, Amanda has lived in the Forest Slime village of Salima, located in the Elrua Forest, her whole life, unaware of her connection to the Ice Slimes since her Ice Slime parent left before her birth. All she knew was that she was born with the power to create and melt her own ice, as well as an affinity for the cold. That is, until the Ice Slimes came looking for her, claiming her to be their queen. Kidnapping her and taking her to their village, they implanted a magical alternate personality into her, which she refers today to as Alicia. With the help of the soldiers of Salima and Humans from the nearby town working together (Mainly rallying to defend against the bigger threat - Things went right back to the way they were once the encounter was over), she managed to break free of their spell. She currently resides in Salima, now commanding the soldiers there, but she feels that the Ice Slimes could be making their move again, and is looking for an opportunity to find out what their plan is and counter it.

Personality: Jun is a reckless killer. Everything he does is either for money or simply for the pure joy of ending a life. He does have a protective nature towards his comrades and will protect them until his dying breath.He likes to joke a lot and have fun. Actually the only time he's serious is when he has a job.He used to say that "If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.", while praising his skills.


Weapon(s): The Kinship Blade, a blade passed down through generations. It is said that before death the owner commits seppuku and offers his blood to increase the weapon's power


Powers:

  1. The Kinship Blade's power comes from the blood of those impaled by it. With every new body it comes in contact, the blade's toughness and sharpness rise. It will continue to suck the blood out of the victim until the victim is dead or the owner pull the sword out of the victim's body.
  2. Above average strength, despite his appearance, Jun wields his sword with ease (it is estimated that The Kinship Blade weighs as much as the Zweihänder.)
  3. Hunter perception, he is able to accurately locate someone from up to 500m away.

Biography: Almost nothing is known about his past. And he doesn't want to reveal it no matter what.The only known thing about his life is that he grew up in an orphanage and that the previous owner of The Kinship Blade was his master.

Appearance:


Ajax is an olive skinned and tanned man who stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs around 260 pounds. A thick, muscle bound figure with powerful, sinewy arms and robust legs which end in burly hands and feet and a log-like neck that holds up a head as large as the rest of his body, with a prominent jaw and chin as well as dark brown eyes, short, curly black hair and a thick but not overly long beard. Ajax is a mess to look at. He is scarred from head to toe, his eyes are sunken, his nose squashed and slightly deviated, he has cauliflower ears and his hands, forearms, elbows, knees, shins and feet are covered in extremely thick and rough calluses, giving them a leathery, bumpy look. Ajax's clothing is a loose white robe called a doric chiton, that he keeps strapped to his left shoulder with a pin and extends past his waist, ending just above the knees. Ajax also wears brown leather, hobnailed, sandal-like boots called caligae.


Personality:


Ajax is a fairly merry man, fond of living a life full of excitement and action and can be fairly easy to get along with as he is giving, loyal, honest and straightforward, seeing greed, deceit and treachery as marks of weakness. Conversely, he's also kind of nuts. He says what's on his mind, is knowingly offensive to others, enjoys battle to a mind-boggling degree and will excitedly jump at the chance to battle dangerous creatures. Smashing things to bits seems to be his main solution to any problem, too, and he has no qualms in instigating fights or escalating them when a couple words would be enough to defuse a potentially dangerous situation.


Ajax has a great distaste for magic and religion and will act rather condescending to anyone who relies overmuch on these. It’s not enough to bring him to violence but he sees over-reliance on magic or the intervention of higher forces as a queer path in life. Why credit the gods with your achievements, why rely on some mystic force you can barely comprehend when you could achieve this on the strength of your back? He feels much the same towards those who take their status as nobles as somehow making them intrinsically superior to others.


Ajax has a fairly complex world view based on strength, self-reliance and personal growth. He feels the strong come to rule the weak, but that strength isn't limited to physical strength or martial power and that the weak should, in turn, grow strong and strive for greater things in life, never letting themselves be crushed underfoot. He relishes the freedom necessary for such a growth and will readily help others to attain it, just as long as they actually put the effort to grow themselves, though his efforts can come across as him just being rather mean. He is especially harsh towards those who could stand for themselves but don't and expect others to do it for them, believing that over-reliance on others is another path to subjugation.

Powers:


-Herculean: Ajax seems to have been gifted with superhuman physicality. Though his agility and manual dexterity aren’t much to speak of, he is freakishly strong and damn near tireless. His entire body is tremendously difficult to damage and eradicates poisons, toxins and disease with absurd ease. What makes this unique is that Ajax wasn't simply born powerful, but rather that his body adapted to extremely harsh circumstances much faster and better than anyone else.


It's something everyone can do. Both muscle and bone adapt to the stresses they're placed under with time, you can exercise specifically to increase your lung capacity, you can get used to extremes of temperature if you live with them long enough, but the thing about Ajax is that his gift allows him to defy normal human limits. Of course, this gift requires a high degree of dedication to constantly test and push his own limits. If he had lived a quiet life, his gift would've gone by unnoticed.


-Pride: Pride's a powerful emotion and Ajax is quite proud of himself. Proud of his superhuman body and the primitive power it represents over that acquired through money, knowledge, social influence and other roundabout ways. So much so that he is able to use his body against things that should be unaffected by mere brute force, pitting his might directly against magic and the like. This kind of pride also allows him to ignore any sort of mind-altering effects, and attempts to invade his psyche will meet with as heavy a resistance as if Ajax was fighting the person directly.


Extra:


-Pankration master: Ajax is a frighteningly skilled unarmed fighter, having trained to fight most of his life and having survived a number of ordeals through fighting skill alone. His fighting style is known in his homeland as Pankration, loosely translated as "all of might", and was originally a blend of boxing and wrestling with no rules beyond no biting or eye-gouging before more and more skills were added to its repertoire. Ajax is a particularly skilled grappler, adept at using his strength and size to his advantage, but knows how to supplement it with effective striking.


Biography:


Ajax descends from a long line of athletes, from a land far away. His father, Diagoras, was an accomplished boxer trained by his father as was tradition within the family and celebrated in his homeland for his many victories in legitimate sporting events. Ajax was trained by his father, a widower, from an early age as well and rapidly became a boxer of considerable skill himself. However before Ajax could make his debut in an official event, Diagoras was murdered, the killer managing to evade the law.


Ajax eventually discovered that his father's death was orchestrated by Diagoras' supposed benefactor, Magistrate Cleon, because Diagoras had won a fight he was asked to throw, thus ruining many a bet. Enraged, Ajax sought Cleon out to murder him with his own two hands but was subsequently defeated, bested by foul sorceries and the attack of a demonically powerful fighter in Cleon's employ, known only as Hyperanthes. He was captured and his family subjected to great shame.


Publicly tried for attempting to murder a magistrate, Ajax was sentenced to death by poisoning but before it could be carried out he was smuggled out of prison by Cleon and his associates, who then sold him to The Crypt, a brutal underground arena where people are forced to fight in rule-less deathmatches for the enjoyment of select crowds. It was here, fighting for survival armed only with a pair of old and worn gauntlets and greaves, that Ajax developed his fighting style across several years of captivity, with only one thought keeping him from despair: revenge.


As time passed Ajax befriended a few of the other fighters and together they planned an escape, which was mostly just being superior fighters taking on a bunch of crappy hired guards by surprise. Knowing he'd be hunted down by The Crypt and Cleon, Ajax decided to flee the country without involving anyone else, sneaking into a random merchant ship leaving the island which was first dragged around, then smashed to bits by a typhoon. The lone survivor, Ajax drifted aimlessly in a damaged boat until he arrived to a strange foreign land.


So began his career as a travelling adventurer. Never settling in a single place for long, always moving, always fighting, looking to return to his homeland of Erimai. The only problem is, no ship seems to know how to get there and by this point he has boarded about a dozen random ships with no clue where exactly they were going, so he is well and truly lost in this regard. His homeland could be on the exact opposite of creation for all he knows.

Personality: Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet is a capricious egomaniac, obsessed with the inherent superiority of wizardry and magical institutions. He will never hesitate to demonstrate the merits of being a wizard, and treats non-wizards with patronizing scorn at best.


Weapon(s): A pine-wood staff, engraved with magical runes and coded phrases. It serves as both a blunt weapon and a walking stick.


Powers: Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet holds a veritable armory of powerful spells. Below are Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet's favorites.


Blink: Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet teleports a small distance away. He can do this at will, but the effect is immediately noticeable, due to the flash of bluish-greenish fluorescent light that occurs wherever he blinks away, both coming and going.


Stanmer's Unpleasant Sensation: One of Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet's most popular creations, this sends out a finger-sized beam of magic. Whatever it strikes is suddenly wracked with horrendous pain. This beam moves at the speed of light, and is directed from any one of Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet's fingers.


Mustrum's Infuriating Grapple: Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet can summon an array of sinewy tendrils to hinder and hold back his enemies. These tendrils are about as wide and as strong as a normal human forearm, and come in packs of six.


Magic Missile: Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet sends out a small sphere of magical concussive force. This sphere does just about as much damage as a thrown rock, but moves exceptionally fast and is difficult to avoid.


Telecommunication: Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet is capable of communicating with anyone, anywhere, so long as he knows who they are and can concentrate on them. Communication is usually two-way, though Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billet can freely keep either himself or his conversation partner from speaking their mind.


Extra: Stanmer, through years of alchemical experimentation, knows how to brew an exceptional cup of tea.


Biography: Born to a positively massive family, Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billets struck out on his own at the age of 12. To his great fortune, he managed to become the apprentice of the great wizard, Mustrum "Coal-Crate" Cheesewaller. For years, Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billets worked under Mustrum "Coal-Crate" Cheesewaller, learning the eldritch secrets of cleaning books, carrying buckets of water, and sweeping carpets. Bit by bit, Mustrum "Coal-Crate" Cheesewaller taught his apprentice the power of magic, and bit by bit, Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billets grew to be a mighty wizard.


The next several decades were a blur of eating, reading, and unpleasant experimentation. Somewhere during the interim, Mustrum "Coal-Crate" Cheesewaller died from a severe case of syphilis, which failed to influence Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billets beyond officially giving him control of Mustrum "Coal-Crate" Cheesewaller's magically-hidden laboratory and tower. Every so often, Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billets would leave his tower, to gather what food, funding, and materials he couldn't magically conjure. Just recently, Stanmer "Hot-Pot" Billets has set off once again, in the search of rare monster eggs and cold, hard cash. With something suspiciously close to exasperation, Stanmer "Hot-Pot Billets" is looking for a party of thugs and layabouts to bear the brunt of his burdens. With no knowledge of the local customs and history, finding a party will be difficult.

Personality: She always speaks her mind, to a fault at times. She thrives off the company of people, and has a really difficult time coping with loneliness.


Weapon(s): A scythe twice her height with a retractable blade, so it is also usable as a staff.


Powers: She has the ability to greatly reduce her center of gravity, so she can jump to extreme heights. She also has the ability to teleport, but only short distances.


Extra: She has a very small dragon named Ryuu. He isn't very useful in combat due to his size, though he does breathe fire. However, she keeps him as a companion because she raised him.

Biography: At the age of eight, her family was slaughtered by a clan of demons. With no one to raise her, a close family friend, who was a powerful wizard, decided to raise her as his own. He helped her to hone her powers and use them for combat so she could one day avenge her parents and sister. Finally, at the age of 17, he told her it was time to go out into the world and have an adventure.

Appearance: Johann is a fastidious little man in neat, formal clothes. He is clean shaven, his face round and jolly, with a neat head of dark hair and a natty little moustache. He wears glasses, as his eyesight is poor.


Personality: Johann is serious, detail oriented, and rather self-centred. Everything he does is based on learning and knowing more, as his main goal is the furthering of SCIENCE! And also MEDICINE! If he has to step on some toes to learn, then so be it.


Weapon(s): His mind.

Biologically Immortal


Johann achieved his goal entirely by accident. It was not in the way he desired. He is still human, but he no longer ages and does not need to eat or sleep to live. He will never die of natural causes and will look to be in his mid forties for the rest of existence.


However, he is not truly immortal. His body is still very human and he can still be killed by mundane means, such as a beating, being stabbed or shot, indirect use of magic, so on and so forth.


Magic Dead Spot


This is the unintended side-effect to Johann's experiment. He is now a complete dead spot when it comes to magic. He is incapable of using his former power and being affected by other magical powers. For the first few years, as magic was Johann's life, this was an agonizing punishment. But since then, he's found a few upsides. For one, direct use of magic powers now completely fail against him. Whether it's magical flames, mind reading, or a telekinetic shove, it just doesn't work. That being said, any beneficial form of magic, such as healing, will also completely fail.


Another side effect is that anyone who can sense things using magic is completely unable to sense him. This can be compared to the magical equivalent of seeing a ghost. He's there, you can see him and touch him, but fundamentally, he's not there.


A Doctor and a Scientist


With his life work gone, Johann had to turn to other avenues of research. The human body still fascinated him, and so he began to pursue this same topic with the same fervor by which he pursued immortality. This is not a good thing, as topics such as 'ethics' tend to fall by the wayside if no one keeps an eye on him.


In addition, Doctor Mendel has become a foremost expert on the human body and a competent physician. If you need to be patched up without the use of magic or powers, he's your man.


Extra: Johann carries a ridiculous amount of writing equipment and is always making notes.


Biography: Growing up in the small town of Krumbach, Johann cottoned on early that he possessed powers far beyond that of human norm. He was a talented warlock, interested only in furthering his own power. As he aged, though, the deeper mysteries of magic called to him, and he retreated to an isolated existence studying magic. Eventually, he determined that he did not have enough time left in his life to explore the mysteries that spurred him on so, and pushed hard to unlock the mystery of immortality.


Suffice it to say, he succeeded completely by accident. However, the the spell was incomplete. He has completely lost his magical powers, and is now a dead spot where magic is concerned. Not only that, but the immortality was not true. His only advantage was that he ceased aging. So it was that he went on a journey, learning more about the human body in an attempt to restore his lost knowledge and lost power. But now, with a forever young body, he has all the time in the world.

Biography: Not orphaned, just abandoned. His family was poor and could not afford another mouth to feed so they simply abandoned him when he was young. He was left to fend for himself and he did this well. Not very well at first but he had to learn quick in order to survive. Lucky for him he picked up on things quickly. Now, after a life of strife and hardship he has set out with a new goal. To become a hunter. Nothing better than using his skills to fight monster and make money. Biography: Coming from a distant, snowy kingdom, Zavid Burnovski traveled in search of fame, fortune, and good times. His stint in his family carnival only got him so far, however, and after 12 years as the main attraction, he jumped ship. No, really, he jumped off of the ship they were on and swam to shore. Appearance: Always coated head to toe in armor and plating. However, undernearh his helm is a face which you make you think of nobility rather than a hunter, long brown hair, blue eyes and soft features with a medium build.


Power: Although hunters are just humans, they are some of the strongest/durable humans I've ever seen. Having plenty of weapons and armor made of monsters and unknow metals in his armory that far surpasses the ability to defeat even the strongest of dragons in one on one combat. Some even granting super natural powers.


Bio: A hunter from a different part of the world. One which is untouched by modern hands and with monsters that could destroy anything from a small two to the more extreme cases, the whole world. Being a part of the guild he has hunter countless monsters and beasts for the sake of preserving humanity. He doesn't like to speak about the time before he became a hunter however.


Personality: A hunter who doesn't take many things seriously and keeps a light heart about most things unless things require to be taken gravely. He always loves a challage and being apart of nature, respecting it and it's creatures. He is also fond of chivalry and honor while disapproving anything that is cowardly or destructive. He loves to have a few drinks as well as be around women of any kind and sharing his stories to others.
