Tyr looked in his bag and pulled out a small folded piece of paper. "This is what he looked like."

Bailey smiled softly. "He looks intense. Why would anybody want mess with him?" She noticed that the dagger she had now was in a belt on his chest. "Tyr, thank you for this," she said softly, her voice shaking as a few tears fell. She raised a hand a wiped them away quickly.

"After he died, I went back to their camp, and I killed every last one of them. I did it for him. I-I-" That was all he could say. Rage and sorrow filled his lungs, while tears steamed down his eyes.

"Hey, Tyr, it's ok. You risked your life to kill the bastard that did that to him, and I'm thankful. It wasn't your fault. I bet he's thankful you survived so you could get this to me. And I'm thank full because without you I would've gone the rest of my life not knowing what happened," Bailey said, placing a hand on Tyr's knee. "It's alright."

"I'm sorry. It's kinda funny to think that I lo- I mean know his daughter." Tyr said as he took another drink from the bottle.

"Yeah, funny I know his friend," she chuckled, taking the bottle and another sip.

What the hell is wrong with you, Tyr asked himself. How could he let himself fall in love, let alone with the daughter of his dead best friend?! He couldn't let her know. For both his fate and hers. Tyr took the bottle and drank. Today had been a strange day.

"So, how old are you anyway? And how old was my old man?" Bailey asked, glancing over at Tyr, and handing the bottle back.

Tyr reached into his bag and grabbed a small, paper wrapped block. He unwrapped it to reveal that is was cheese. He broke some off and ate it along with some bread. "You know, I haven't had a piece of this cheese until today? I got it from Brightown by an old woman that used to travel with a cart, peddling food that was the best I've ever had."

"Really? I think I had it once, in a soup I believe,"

Queen Fraya:

Fraya looked out from her tower to the courtyard below. Many humans and hybrids that had come to her as refugees were training with magic and weapons. She had more or less told them to train as a functioning force or be thrown back into the unforgiving harshness of the north. Many took the chance and she had the beginnings of a fighting force. Her nightingales were always bringing the persecuted to her fortress for protection. She would shield them from Valerians wrath but they would need to bare arms to help in their own defence.

She would need to wait until Valerian turned his attention north or a hero stepped forward to throw the king. Moving to her sanctuary she stood over a cradle made of ice. Her hands shook as she was rocked by the flash backs of the fire, the smell the sight. With a grief filled scream the ice in the room turned to spikes. As quickly as she lost control, she took back that control and with a shaky breath she returned to watching her borders, knowing Valerian liked to move quickly.

An elf walked and walked until he found two figures, he was severely wounded and is not in good shape, blood rushed down from his face. It was Dean, Dean dropped to his knees and cried. " I tried... Now I know what I truly am... A useless freak. " During the battle Dean had fled into the dark woods, it was too much for him to bear. He was a coward. Dean punched himself multiple times until he bled even more.

"Whoa, stop that!" Bailey shouted, kneeling next to the elf. "Hey, what happened? What's going on in Toron?" She asked, picking him up and sitting him next to the fkre. She pulled out one of the last three healing herbs she had. "Here eat."

" Wasn't there. I fled during the battle when that thing appeared. I've heard stories about a being that would rise and I wasn't stopping it. I would never stop it. So I ran to the dark woods and as soon as I knew they were coming for one of the first attackers, I fled to the north. Tried to maybe befriend a Wyvern or something like that. But thank you anyway." He took the herb and ate it.

As Tyr and Bailey talked, Kiara stood up. "I'm going for a walk. See if I can find anything. Alright?" She said quietly, before walking off.

All of this talking about parents and history had gotten to her, and tears filled her eyes. Memories filled her mind, flashes of her brother and parents.

She saw her brother's final breath before the disease stopped , how her mother had fallen into her husband's arms, crying her eyes out while Kiara only stayed by Alexander's bedside, silently mourning.

Then she saw her father bring his mother's lifeless body into the kingdom's gates after a particularly harsh battle. She remembered that, how her dad changed that day, and left her alone. The day she had began fighting for the king.

She walked a while, before falling to her knees in the snow, closing her eyes as she thought, trying to get the memories out of her mind.

What had she gotten herself into? She had taken on such a job with such high requirements, and was now wondering why she did. The king was still her pledge, true, but she just wasn't cut out for this.

He would die. She was fairly certain. She didn't want that, but it was bound to happen. Everyone she interacts with eventually dies, no matter how hard she tried to prevent it.

(Damn. I was hoping that somehow news of Xer'Lai's death would reach the Party.)
