Rowan smirked a little and hen thought about it. "We did a lot as a family. He and my mom always acted like madly in love newlyweds. Kinda gross as their child, but sweet." She thought again for a moment and shook her head slowly. "No...I don't think so...no...wait," she pulled a locket out from under her shirt. "He gave it to me when I was so young I almost forgot. I don't think it's what you have in mind, but he told me to always wear it to think of him and my mom." She says. It was oval in shape, metal, and small with intricate carvings. Inside was a slight reddish coloring.

Eric looked at her and then the locket before leaning over and reaching to touch it. He snapped hia fingers back, "Of course." he said as he sat down again, "I have only had your father as a mentor for one mission, one of his and I was just shadowing. As a warrior that is what you do as a child. He was amazing, but I knew there was more then that. On a mission every member has their roll, they play it as best as they can and remember that in the end the most important thing is to keep your leader safe and alive. The leader knows what they are doing, how, when to do it and the meaning behind it. They report that into Hector in a very simple way. I've always been told I was special, there are a few of us that are. We are born with a gift that exceed anything else. Your father's gift was hiding, like mine is fighting. Our brains are wired differently that way. Your father his something in that necklace, that metal is from this world and the spell he cast means only you can touch it. Other then humans that don't have magic, but anything that has magic, been touched by it or even had any relation to it, can never touch that necklace. Guess we should worry about what is in there and why."

Rowan raised an eyebrow in surprise and curiousity. She looked from him to the necklace, holding it in her palm and bringing it up to look at it. "How do we do that? I mean is there like a spell or type of code that he could have set to keep it locked?" She asks, looking back up to him. "I might be able to find out if that's the case. Surely if he thought something could happen he would have left something for me or one of you here...right?" She knew her father, but she didn't know the part of him from this world as well as the rest of them did.

Eric nodded, "He left something, but if we open this, if might not be your father we are helping. Best to know for sure. There are a lot more out there then you want to play with at once . "

Rowan nodded in understanding. "Okay. I will see what I can find to learn more." She hesitated. Once they were talking she was not so nervous around him. "What about the task Hector gave you...us..." she shook her head a little. "I don't understand quite what I can do to help?"

Eric smirked, "Pretty simple actually, all you have to do is get in Brandon's way when he knows I'm missing. You'll be my partner by keeping the guard dog occupied for a few seconds for me to slip away. "

"Wonderful." Rowan said with a faint smirk. "I thought he knew though...?" She half says and half asks, but realized it was stupid question given her job. "Anyway...I think I can manage that...or rather I know I can since I have to." She says with another smirk.

Eric chuckled, "Brandon feels guilty, he couldn't see it if we told him." He frowned and sighed, "I want to believe Brandon can be trusted, but I can't be sure. After Emery' s future wife was found out, i question who to trust. I want to trust him to be on Hector's side, but I can't take the chance yet. "

Rowan nodded in understanding. "Then I'll keep him distracted. And we'll...though more likely you...will figure out who to trust." She says gently. She was relieved Hector and Kyle* knew at least.

Eric nodded, "Everything will work out just fine, then we can focus on other things." he stated as he started to think about everything and sighed, "One more thing. Can you try to talk to Hector about keeping Hayden away."

Rowan's bit her lip but then nodded. "Yes." She says, then hesitated. "Why? If I may ask? She misses you terribly, and I'm sure you miss her?" She asks quietly.

Eric sighed, "That is why." he frowned, looking down as he thought about it, he smirked a little, "I miss her and I love her. I have been trying to stay focused but when I think of how close I am to her, here, I just want to be with her." He chuckled, "When this mission is over she is going to kill me for this. Not being with her is the hardest part of being back and it hurts." he sighed again, frowning as he looked at her, "But if I'm near her, I won't be able to help myself. I love her, I just wanted us to have a good marriage and ended up falling in love with her stubbornness and her strength. None of that will help in this mission, I can't be in love with her like I want and the moment I see her I will be.

Rowan gave him a gentle smile. "Then I will help keep her away for now by speaking to Hector. But when this mission is over, you should go to her." She says with another smile.

Eric smirked at her, "When this is over, I will take my love and spend as much time as she can stand with me." He chuckled.

Rowan couldn't help smiling broadly, she was oddly happy for him. "Good." She says. Then she sighed. "And what about Emery?" She asks. "I mean, is he going to know that his brother isn't really brain washed, or is he to be kept in the dark as well?" She asks, genuinely curious. "Because if he needs to be kept in the dark, I just need to be in the room to keep him away practically." She rambles a little, she still couldn't understand why he seemed to hate her so much.

Emery chuckled, "I wouldn't be so pessimistic about him. Emery has always been kind of that way. A lot more kinder then now, I am sure but I can help you if you want him to behave."

Rowan smirked a little and looked to him curiously. "Oh? And how is that?" She asks. She tried not to sound too eager.

Rowan looked at him surprised a moment and then she laughed. "I think I rather like that idea. I'll have to give it a try next time." She says, still smiling.

Eric chuckled, "Seriously? If you do, run. Pretty sure once he realizes what happened he'll try ducking your had into something. "

Rowan giggled a little. "I may get it in once and never again, if I'm lucky enough to not lose my hand for it." She says. "Luckily I'm fast." She adds playfully. She liked Eric. He was surprisingly easy to talk to.

Eric laughed, "Oh, I am sure you are. But Ember is a Dier, out running him is not going to be easy. " he pointed out

Rowan giggled some. "I'll keep that in mind, I suppose I'll have to be just fast enough to be able to find a hiding spot." She says with a grin.

Eric smirked, "Mud is your best option. Trust me, Dier are trained to use animal abilities. I think it is cheating but Ember has always been an animal lover, so it works."

Rowan smiled a little. "Well, I suppose that makes sense for Emery. Oddly enough." She says. "I will have to keep that in mind though, just keep some mud around at all times for the moment I get brave enough to flick his nose." She says, giggling some as she realized how strange it sounded.
