The leader felt the heat of the fire behind him, just in time to detect the flame coming at him and avoid it. Catching sight of the dog soon afterward, the leader focused on the metallic bull, which now became white-hot as it began to rapidly shrink around the two demon slayers, down to the size of a normal bull. The bull would attack the dog as soon as it had finished shrinking, but anyone still inside the metal bull by then would be trapped inside and roasted alive. In the meantime, the remaining demons attacked the dog to try to hold it off.

Edgeworth inspected Zenitsu’s statement as soon as it was finished. The young demon slayer had offered up his testimony without hesitation, and had held nothing back. The very idea of their friends being arrested for trying to save them infuriated Zenitsu and spurred him to action, and now the case against the Taskforce was that much stronger for it.

”You really are braver than you know, Zenitsu.” Edgeworth said with a genuine smile. After confirming that all was in order, Edgeworth folded up Zenitsu’s statement as well and handed it to Sung with a nod.
“So what’s next?” Edgeworth asked Sung. “That giant is gone for now, but if he left to chase after someone else, then we may not be the only prisoners in this maze.”

Meanwhile, the giant in question tried to catch the arrow fired at him. But since the arrow in question was made of energy, it burned the giant’s hand on contact, causing him to throw away the arrow and roar in rage. The giant turned back and charged back toward Fate, his razor-sharp teeth bared and his claws extended.

"Get them Torgal!" a voice from the shadows cried.
The dog started to pounce on the demons and attempts to maul them. Meanwhile,bird screams were heard as flame were sent toward the metal bull.
A hooded figure surounded by a firery aura and long colorful feathers emerged from the shadows.

Meanwhile Muichiro attempts another Mist breathing technique to free Genya and himself from the bull.

"You...think so? I'm not brave..." Zenitsu replied,looking down. "Nezuko and I did nothing to the Taskforce,and yet,they captured us and caged us like dangerous wild animals,just because we come from another world. It's not right! We didn't ask to end up here!"

"Yes,you are a stranger and part of the Resistance as well. Obanai and Sanemi didn't seem to trust you. I can understand that. However I can tell that you went through alot." Kagaya replied." I cannot convince you to leave the resistance and join us,but it will it be up to you. No matter what you decide in the future,you will be still be welcome in here. As for what's in it for me...well...if you want my honnest opinion...the Taskforce sees us outworlders as a threat. It's a sad truth. Unfortunatly they might not want to leave Utopia alone. Tengen hear brought me news that our enemy, Muzan Kibutsuji,king of the demons has joined their ranks."

All three sorceresses were silent for a moment. Philippa listened to Margarita and then turned to study her for a moment. Margarita quickly recomposed herself and bowed her head in deference, but now her fair-skinned face had turned a shade paler. Keira just watched the other two in awkward silence, not at all prepared for Margarita's sudden outburst.

"Noctis spoils his subjects, the Corps included. That is the only reason why they love him so. I doubt they’ll love him quite so much when they must bear the full burden of his incompetence." Philippa said sternly. "At any rate, how exactly do you intend to make them understand the current situation? Keira's made it abundantly clear that there’s simply no reasoning with either Noctis or the Corps.”

After a moment, Margarita slowly lifted her gaze back toward Philippa.

”Master Ubuyashiki. The leader of the Demon Slayer Corps.” Margarita said heavily. “The Corps obeys his every command without exception. He’s like a father to them, despite his young age. They’ve even allowed a demon into their ranks on his orders alone.”

”I’d wondered why a band of demon slayers would accept one of their mortal enemies so freely.” Philippa mused. “And what do you intend to do with this young Master of theirs?”

“I can’t say now or else one of my students might hear…” Margarita said, quickly stopping to check that no one was around. “But we in the Lodge have always had our ways.”

“Indeed. And political turmoil in Utopia is counter to the Lodge’s interests.” Philippa said finally. “We will help you in this effort, but remember. In the event that you fail, you’ll be on your own.”

“I understand.” Margarita said, and the conversation ended on that note.

Keira and Philippa disappeared, and Margarita all but slumped into the chair at her desk. These last few minutes had shaken her beyond belief. Part of her had been glad to end up in this new world. Free to teach magic in peace. To start a new life in a world that no longer needed the Lodge.

But alas, those carefree days were now gone. It was time to retake her place in the sisterhood.

The metal of the bull was still molten liquid, so each slice of Muichiro's sword sliced through it as if through butter. The liquid metal took some time to reform, but with Muichiro's quick strikes coupled with the mysterious flames that struck the bull, an opening was created that would be big enough for one or two people to escape through.

In a last desperate attempt at survival, the demon Genya had started eating from lunged at Muichiro, trying to push him aside and make it through the opening to freedom first.

If the leader cared at all for his underlings, he certainly didn't show it, continuing to focus entirely on finishing the bull. One of those two heathens was a Hashira; he could feel it in every cell of his body. And killing the Hashira took priority over everything else.

Genya,his eyes now looking demonic pounced on the demon he started eating before he cpuld reach Muchiro. The young Mist hashira continued to slice through the bull.
The dog,who the hooded figure refered to as Torgal growled at the leader and blocked his way,growling at him. The hooded figure came closer,fire surounding him.
The same avian cries were heard again,as the figure took the form of a giant fiery phoenix.
Muichiro and Genya looked shocked.

"That will be all for today's leason." The class's teacher,Miss Gentiana told her student. "Be sure to practice for next week's exam!"
She stopped two students."Mr Villiers, Miss Earrick,I would like to have a word with the both of you. A blond haired young man and silver haired young woman came to her.
"Something wrong Miss Gentiana?" Jill Warrick asked.
"I'll study,promise! I don't want Lightning to lecture me again that I don't derserve to date her sister!" Snow Villiers whinned.
"No, I wanted to talk to you because,I trust the both of you,as you are both connected to variants of me from other worlds."
"Yeah,because my Eidolons are the Shiva sisters and Jill has Shiva for..."
"Eikon." Jill replied. "I am my world's Shiva's dominant." Jill added. " Why do you need us."
"I need one of you to check on Margarita." Miss Gentiana replied." Something is wrong."
"Well..." Snow started. "I'll do it!" Jill added. "Thanks Jill! I own you one! Now if you escuse me,Serah is waiting for me!" Snow replied before to leave.

A few minutes later.

Jill headed for Margarita's office. Before she could knock on the door,she heard voices. Miss Magarita's voice along with two more.
She heard them about King Noctis,the demon slayer Corps ,the Taskforce and a politcal crisis involving them all. Was Miss Margarita involved with these forces?

Hotel hallway,near Keira's room.
Ignis just returned from the restaurant with a trolley with plates of food. He just carefully placed plates of food near Keira's room when he heard things coming from the room. Keira didn't seem to be alone. He regonised one of the two voices as the one from Phillipa,the Taskforce representitive. She told them about what they planned to do. When the conversation ended, Ignis headed back to his room.

Noctis and Ignis's room.
Ignis finally returned to the room with the food trolley.
"Finally! I was starving!" Noctis said happilly as he took his plates of good,which had a hamburger and fries and Noctis's favorite pastries.
Ignis used a spell flask to cast a barrier spell around the room.
"What's wrong Specs?" Noctis asked.
"We might have a mole." Ignis replied. "Keira has an alliance with Lady Philippa of the Taskforce." ignis replied sadly.
Noctis looked shocked. " It's Imsomnia all over again!" Noctis replied.

As soon as the last testimony was given to him Sung placed it in his inventory, closing it right after. He sighed slightly at the question that was posed to him. He had never seen himself as a leader. Only as someone that was able to think through situations and see the hidden truths behind things. Yet they were looking on to making decisions. Just like the time when he was stuck in that red gate.

“If the creature went after another that was stuck in this place, then we might need to go, and help said person. However, I think it best for you to stay here with these two. I don’t want to put you in harm's way. It is not like I can't protect you, but I am not wanting to take the risk.” Sung said, looking at the small group. He had too many experiences where people he respected and loved had been hurt by the things he had fought.


Seeing the creature catch the arrow was not something that Fate was expecting. He had never seen something catch the arrow, let alone not receive damage from it. Standing his ground, he pulled back the string and shot another two arrows towards the creature. If this didn’t hit, then he was going to move onto a different tactic.

Listening to the man as he spoke Pyo could tell he was genuine with his words. He had been on his guard, but now he relaxed a little. He felt this was a safe enough place so he decided that this might not be a bad decision. Though, the thought never crossed his mind that someone within Utopia would not try to convince him with words to abandon the resistance. This man was trying with action, and who knew if this would work or not. It all depended on circumstances.

“Such an honest answer. Not what I was expecting. Well, I will take you up on your offer. Though, you might not like some of my methods. I am an Assassin known as the Reaper back in my home world.” Pyo said as his expression when serious.

“The Taskforce are fools that don’t understand anything. They want to control us, but if they left some of us alone. We would have never thought of fighting back.” Pyo said as he remembered how the taskforce came after him, and the person that he had befriended. His anger grew and if this man could sense blood lust, he would feel it from him. He was still calm, but he was angry. Like back in the day when he was thinking and working for revenge.

That blasted mutt was getting in the leader’s way. As the leader’s concentration finally broke, the bull lost all shape and started melting. As it did, the opening Muichiro had made quickly widened, giving him and Genya ample room to escape once they dodged the last blobs of molten metal raining down from the bull’s upper shell.

But the half-eaten demon inside with them would not be so lucky. The white-hot metal had burned him severely when Genya had tackled him, and so he lacked the strength to dodge when the upper portion of the bull melted on top of him. The falling blobs of molten metal burned him even further, and he continued to scream in pain until finally the molten metal encased him completely.

As the last of the Brazen Bull melted down, the white-hot puddle rapidly cooled into a large iron slab.

“I s’pose THAT’S just a product of training too?” The leader snarled at Genya, shooting a glare to both the dog and the phoenix. Meanwhile the remaining demons moved to converge around the leader.

“And you…” The leader pointed his sword at the cloaked figure. “Our orders were to cleanse these filthy heathens who call themselves demon slayers… specially the likes of that huh-SHEE-ruh over there…” He briefly pointed to Muichiro. “But don’t worry. The Eternal Fire’s nice and warm enough for all you freaks.”

“I understand. I’d only hold you back in a fight.” Edgeworth said. He looked down toward Nezuko and Zenitsu to see what they would decide.

Nezuko also looked at Zenitsu and cocked her head, unsure whether to stay with one friend or go with the other.

Just as Margarita was about to try to relax, she felt a presence outside of her office, and all of the color drained out of her face. Who was that? And more importantly, how much had they heard.

Immediately she threw open the door to her office and saw Jill Valentine, one of the students, whose look of shock and disbelief told Margarita all she needed to know.

“Inside. Now.” Margarita said sternly, bracing herself for a fight if it came to that.

Keira likewise could sense a presence outside her room not long after her conversation ended. Peeking outside, she caught a glimpse of what looked like Ignis fleeing the scene, which led to only one logical conclusion. If the king didn’t have any proof of her past involvement with the Lodge before, he most certainly did now.

Keira had not come this far to end up at the stake now. And besides that, Philippa did instruct her to remove herself from this imminent disaster of an “investigation”, so now seemed as good a time as any. Quickly locking her door and packing her megascope and the rest of her luggage - most of which was already packed anyway - she opened a portal and wasted no time entering it.

Noctis and Ignis's room.

A silver butterfly had been following Noctis since he left the meeting. Not many people paid much attention to small things so it easily was able to keep itself hidden. It was resting on top of a tall ottoman in the room as the king and his friend were relaxing. It was waiting for its master to arrive. When Ignus returned and set up some kind of barrier its master was already in the room.

Hua Cheng had wanted to make an alliance with several groups so he could possibly free his loved one out of the Taskforce’s grasp. He didn’t like having to follow orders from people. He was a ruler, not a follower. As soon as the two began to speak he decided to make himself known.

“It is hard to find good help nowadays. They like to stab you in the back any chance they get.”

"We'll get through that fire of yours." Muichiro replied to the leader. The dog growled toward the demons. The phoenix reverts back into his hooded human form. "Who are you working for?" the hooded figure asked. "Where is my brother? His nsme is Clive Rosfield."

A young man with messy black hair and wearing black armor wandered through the maze. "When I'll find that witch, I'll make her pay for trapping me here." Clive Rosfield muttered to himself. "She's just as worse as Mother." He noticed something in the distance. "Not another one of those monsters?" He spat annoyed.

Zenitsu looked at Nezuko. "I'm sorry I coudn't protect you Nezuko,but npw that will all change. I'll take the both of us out of here. We'll find Tanjiro and turn you back into a human again!"

Jill Warrick jumped in surprise.
"I'm so sorry Miss!" Jill said sheeply. "I just..." "My apologies, I sent Miss Warrick to you. She had questions about Megascoope building." Gentiana stood between Margarita and Jill.

Noctis jumped in surprise as he saw Cheng emerging. "How did you come in?!" Noctis shouts. "It's the first time someone comes through the barrier spell." Ignis replied.

"Master,if I may?" Tengen asked. Kagaya nodded to the Sound hashira.
"I used to be part of a familly of shinobi. My father forced me and my siblings to fight to the death.Only my brother and I were left." Tengen explained. " I coudn't forgive my father,so I left with my wives and joined the Corps. That blood lust, I felt it too."

The demons all gasped aloud at Muichiro’s assertion, while the leader’s expression hardened.

“You don’t even know what you’re talking about, you little shit.” The leader hissed. “You’ll not see the holy fire until after you’ve been purged from this world, just like those other friends of yours. And once you are, make no mistake… no flame I summon can even hope to compare to the Eternal Fire.”

Then the cloaked figure spoke next, but he was barely even worth responding to.

“Never heard of him.” The leader said almost as an afterthought. “If that’s all you’re here for, you can go. Like I said, our orders were for the so-called demon slayers.”

Margarita’s stern expression instantly faded as Gentiana subtly came to Jill’s defense. Gentiana thought Jill was in danger, but it was never Margarita’s intention to harm the girl. Margarita’s face fell for a moment, but she met Gentiana’s gaze, her eyes almost pleading.

“I see.” Margarita said softly, keeping her voice as low as possible. “Unfortunately now was not the best time, and I fear she may have overheard something just now that could put her life in danger. It’s not safe for us to speak of it out here, which is why I must speak with her in private. You may join us if you must, but just know that you too will be risking your life by doing so.”

A tall, mummified male silently walked toward Clive. Despite the pitch black of the corridor, it seemed to have no problem at all spotting Clive, prepared to attack once it drew close enough.

“Tanjiro.” Nezuko echoed slowly, nodding happily to Zenitsu. She couldn’t speak quite as well as a human could, but she could understand what Zenitsu was saying.

Edgeworth said nothing for now, but made a mental note to ask these two more about themselves once they had a moment. So far all he knew about these two or about Tanjiro were the bits and pieces Zenitsu had mentioned. But clearly the three of them were quite close, so Edgeworth let them have their moment in peace.

"I don't have to guess. It's Kibutsuji who sended you to attack us." Muichiro replied. "He turned you too. What's in it for you serving him and becoming demons?" Genya spat.

"Alright,we shall speak in your office." Gentiana replied. She hoped that whatever Margarita was planning, Gentiana would talk her out of it. Gentiana and Jill went inside the office.

"You're gonna see your big brother soon, I promise. I will do my best to protect you.." Zenitsu then faced Edgeworth. "What do we do now?" he asked.

Clive noticed the momified creature. "Not another one!" he said in annoyence. A red fiery sura surounded him and his eyes started to glow. He was ready to face this monster.

The demon slayers’ words sparked an uproar throughout the demons’ ranks, with the lower demons spitting furious accusations of blasphemy at both Genya and Muichiro. Only the leader seemed to remain calm, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

”Blood Demon Art…”

His blood dripped onto the floor, then spread across the floor, walls, and ceiling of the cave in smaller and smaller droplets. Then his eyes snapped open.

”Heretic’s Demise!”

Large metal spikes shot out of the parts of the cave where the droplets settled. First came a grid of spikes that separated the two slayers and their new allies from the demons. Then other spikes emerged in rapid succession to attempt to impale the slayers and their allies.

But at the exact same time, spikes emerged on the demons’ side as well, skewering the shocked lower demons and holding them all firmly in place.

”So that’s what that was.“ The leader said in a low, blasé tone. “We were told he was an avatar of the Eternal Fire itself. That by taking his blood, the weaker of us would be purged, while the rest would be made into something new, like swords forged in the Eternal Flame. I could sense something was off from the start, but honestly, I cared less and less as time went on.”

The trapped lower demons all gasped, but the leader smirked wryly.

“That explains why I’m the only one who‘s been getting any stronger, while all these mindless idiots are just barely above humans!” The leader snapped at his own subordinates, then shot a glance toward Muichiro and the others.

”You all sit tight for a spell. I’ll deal with you in just a bit.”

Without another word, the leader marched up toward the lower demons and started ripping off one piece after another, eating them with barely any change in his expression at all, despite their screams and desperate pleas.

Margarita nodded. Once Jill and Gentiana were safely inside and seated, Margarita entered as well and then closed and locked the door, casting a protection spell on the room for good measure. Lastly, to be absolutely safe, she carefully removed the crystals from her megascope and placed them in a locked storage box next to it.

”I’ve never told this to anyone in Utopia before. Truth be told, I thought I would never need to.” Margarita said, steeling herself as she looked up at Jill.

”Jill… the voices you heard were fellow sorceresses from my native world. We were part of a secret sisterhood, dedicated to protecting magic from the political forces in our world that threatened it. But although our intended cause was noble, many of the things we were driven to do for that cause were not. Innocent lives were lost on all sides as a result.”

Margarita’s gaze dropped.

“When I arrived in Utopia, I thought I could finally start anew. Only one other sorceress from our sisterhood was here with me, and with magic already well-protected in Utopia, there was no need for either of us to return to our old ways. Or so we thought, until today.”

She lifted her gaze to Jill once again.

“Before I explain any further, I must know what exactly you overheard just now.” Margarita said more firmly now. “Only then can I take the necessary steps to ensure your safety.”

The two demon slayers,and their two new allies dodged the spikes that emerged around the cave.
"You think you're a god or something?!" Genya shouts at the leader." You're just Kibutsuji 's puppet!"
"You are sick and twisted." The hooded young man told the leader. He watched in disgust as the leader consumed his own henchmen.

"About King Noctis...you were talking about him. Miss Gentiana knew him,right?" Jill replied to Margarita.
"Yes,I knew him well. I guided his late beloved Lunafreya,princess and Oracle of Tenebrae. But she when she was killed by Ardyn Lucis Caelum,I respected Lunafreya's wish and guided Noctis." Gentiana replied.
"Noctis ,just like Lunafreya is a peaceful ruler. I trust him."

Edgeworth had admitted to his weakness, the girl didn’t answer his question. She seemed more in thought about the question. The boy in yellow didn’t answer the question, he only mentioned what they were going to do next. Sung took a breath as he knew that he needed to act quickly.

“The next action is for me to go and see if there are anyone else in this hell hole and get them back to this room. So that you all can work together to protect one another until we can get you out of here.” Sung said as he started to move to the door. “Greed.” he said as he reached the door.

“Greed, stay here and watch over these people.” Sung said as he looked over his shoulder. “You all stay here, and get some rest. I will go see if there is anyone else here. Greed will protect you in my place.” Sung said as he walked out into the hall, and turned to make his way in the direction the creature left. As for Beru he was commanded to follow Sung.

Listening to the man who had brought him here was like listening to something that would have happened in the Assassin's group that trained him. Though fighting siblings would be more difficult. He and his fellow kidnapped were forced to kill complete strangers. Though he himself never participated in such a barbaric competition. His first kill was when they were betrayed. Then and only then did he become a mass murder.

He killed so many on his path of revenge it was unreal. He even killed after that, but that was a different circumstance. He could understand this man's resentment. This made it easier for the decision that he made. Maybe even making decisions for the future easier. Only time would tell for the latter.

“Your father was an idiot. Though, different from my circumstances. I was actually taken from the streets and forced into this life. If I had my choice, I would have remained a Vagabond. wandering from town to town.”

The man in red only looked at the two as if what he did wasn’t any big deal. The barrier was not something that would have been able to keep him out even if he didn't have one of his butterflies in the room.

“You and your subordinates are blind. Never looking for the small things that might be around.” He said as he lifted his hand and the silver butterfly fluttered down from it preached onto the man's finger. “A barrier can only keep out things that aren't already in the room.”

“Though a barrier like this is not something I can’t break. Though, I don’t want others outside of this room to know I am here. That is the only reason this barrier is still intact.” The man said as he looked at the King with his red eye. The other was hidden behind a black eye patch.

The mummy visibly flinched and jumped away from Clive’s fiery aura. After it landed, the mummy let out a primal roar that instantly extinguished all ordinary flames in the immediate area, though how this roar would affect Clive’s aura was unclear.

The large humanoid lifted up its boil-covered arm to block the energy arrow. The arrow struck the boils and even popped some of them, causing the creature to recoil in pain.

“Agreed.” Edgeworth nodded to Sung. “Although if you happen to find any clues in this maze that I can help with, I may be able to learn more about this place and hopefully find a way out.”

With that settled, as soon as Sung was gone, Edgeworth turned his focus to Nezuko and Zenitsu, especially now that the latter had just arrived.

”Are you alright, Zenitsu?” Edgeworth asked. “Are you hurt in any way?”

If the leader heard the remarks of Genya or the newcomer, he didn’t show any signs of it, instead continuing to eat his own horrified subordinates unimpeded. His power grew and grew with each victim consumed.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the leader, the rocks that blocked off the cave entrance behind him slowly began to shift.

Also, deeper within the cave on the heroes’ side, the captive demon slayers could be heard whispering to each other.

”What’s going on?“ The male voice who had screamed earlier said, his voice still raspy. “Can you see anything?”

“As do I.” Margarita said sincerely. “Utopia has flourished beyond all expectations under his rule. And with time and experience, I know he’ll only continue to grow as a king.”

Margarita’s gaze dropped sadly. Whatever Jill heard about King Noctis, it likely wasn’t good. There was no point in putting this off any longer.

“His Majesty attended a meeting earlier today with representatives from Utopia, the 120, and the Taskforce. Two members of the Lodge - that’s what our sisterhood was called - were also in attendance. Both of them were very displeased with the Utopians’ conduct during and after the meeting. I wasn’t there, so I don’t know the whole story, but they say the king bowed his head to someone of lower rank, allowed children to disrupt the meeting, and even openly denounced the 120 as an evil empire.”

Rita slowly lifted her gaze back toward Gentiana.

“And after the meeting, the king made a decision that they both strongly disapproved of… but the less you and Jill know about those details, the safer it will be for both of you.”

He turned to Edgeeorth after he asked if he was alright. " My right arm is bruised. I talked that creepy shspe shifting monster. It turned into me and tried to attack Nezuko-Chan."

The flames's around Clive's aura were briefly extingished but came back even stronger.
"Come to me,Ifrit!"
More flames surounded Clive and grew in size. A few minutes later. A giant form emerged from the flames. A giant horned beast,with skin like rock with red flame aura visible in his eyes and all around it's being.
The beast roars as it faced the mummified creature.
Ifrit,one of the two Valesthian Eikons of fire was awakened.
Clive's conciousness was in control of the beast.

Gentiana and Jill listened to Margarita 's explainations." I..It might be a speculation,but I do think Ardyn might be involved. " Gentiana replied.
"Who?" Jill asked. "Is real name is Ardyn Lucis Caelum. He's a decendent of King Noctis. He served the Niflheim empire as a Chacellor under the name Ardyn Izunia. If I am correct, he might be working for the Taskforce as we speak." She looked toward Margarita. " I have a favor to ask of you. The next time you meet with the members of your sisterhood,ask them if they know about Ardyn Izunia and his involvement with the Taskforce. If my suspecions are correct,he might have try to toy with the King's feelings. He was responsible for the lost of his kingdom,his father and his beloved." Jill gasped. " Just like Clive,Joshua and I..." she said sadly.
"As for the king letting children in, I heard from the Kingsglaive that members of the Demon Slayer Corps have escorted the king to the meeting." Gentiana added. " One of them is young Tanjiro Kamado.There must be a reason behind this."

Genya's shot flew through the bars separating Genya and the others from the leader, who just barely heard the shot in time to avoid a fatal blow. Nevertheless, the bullet struck a sizable blow that tore off the upper half of his left shoulder.

"Well aren't we impatient?" The irritated leader said through clenched teeth. By now all that was left of his subordinates were a few scraps strewn about the cave, and the man's appearance had already started to lose a bit more of its humanity. Now his skin had turned grey like ash, and his once light blue eyes gleamed like steel in the faint light.

"Blood Demon Art... BRAZEN BULL!!"

The demon used the same art as before, but this time the speed and potency of the attack was multiplied more than tenfold. The metal that streamed forth from his hands circled around the group at a rapid pace, turning white hot in seconds when before it had taken at least a few minutes. Once again it started to close in around the group like a rapidly shrinking oven, gradually cooking them alive.

“If there was a personal enemy of the king involved, that would explain his remarks about an evil empire. If the 120 knew of it, they would surely understand.” Margarita said, deeper in thought and even relieved to an extent. “I shall inquire into this Ardyn as soon as I get the chance.”

But then the conversation shifted to the Demon Slayer Corps next, and Margarita nodded firmly in response to Gentiana’s statement.

“There must have been. The Demon Slayer Corps would never risk embarrassment to the king without a very good reason. Even if that reason apparently wasn’t good enough for the Lodge.” Margarita said, but then became more somber on that note.

Now that the Corps had just been brought into the conversation, she would need to be a bit more careful. But at the same time, this just might be the opportunity she needed to prevent a tragedy.

”As it happens, the Lodge mentioned the Corps today as well. But before I say anything more…” Margarita turned to face Jill again. “Jill, did you overhear anything just now in relation to the Corps?”

Seeing that his arrow did some damage, but not nearly enough to really hurt the creature. Fate was beginning to wonder what this creature was. He was powerful on his own, but Greed was one of the most powerful weapons in his world. So, it didn’t make any sense that the arrow barely did any damage. Switching the bow back to its sword form, Fate took a defensive stance.

“Hey, Greed. Do you have any suggestions?”

“Do you truly think I know anything about that creature? It is not like we are back home.”

“Well… then I am not certain how to handle this.”

“I say run and fight another day.”

“Like I can do that. This thing might be exactly what I need to get my Gluttony skill under control. Those small fry were not even worth killing.”

“Well, if that is the case. Then why not try attacking it with me again. All I can say is don’t get yourself killed!”

Fate decided to do as Greed suggested. He charged towards the creature and attempted to slash it with his sword.

“The past is the past, and there is no changing what happened. I got my revenge against those that turned me into this and discarded me.” Pyo said as he looked at the two men. He wondered what they were going to do about the two that saw him as a threat.

“What do you plan to tell the two? They didn’t seem to like me too much.”

A soft chuckle left his throat as he listened to the man with glasses. He seemed to take his warning to heart. Yet that was of little consequence. The man got straight to the point, and Hua Cheng could respect him for that. Though what he didn’t understand was why an underling was speaking like he was in charge. This would never happen in his city. Well, everyone was different.

“Both good questions. To the latter I am unfortunately associated with the Taskforce. They have taken something special to me and are holding him hostage. That is why I am reaching out to you. I want to free him, so I can stop taking orders from those idiots.”

"May I see?" Edgeworth asked Zenitsu, making sure not to push the boy to any uncomfortable degree. Unfortunately there were no medical supplies in this room, but depending on the damage, there may be at least a few basic steps they could take to keep any injury to a minimum.

Nezuko, for her part, turned toward Zenitsu's arm, lightly tugging on his sleeve to see if she could find the bruise in question.

The mummy flinched again, jumping back even further, but this time something in him seemed to snap. He returned Ifrit's roar with a roar of his own, much louder and deeper than the first, and this time lunged at Clive without regard for any of the flames emanating from either him or Ifrit.

The humanoid charged at Fate with little regard for the sword, until it carved through his side. Such a blow would normally mean nothing to this hulking beast, but there was something different about this sword.

It needed to be eliminated.

Roaring in pain and rage, the creature moved to grab hold of Fate's sword hand with one clawed hand and his corresponding shoulder with the other, intending to rip Fate's arm off if he succeeded.

The metal still hadn't hardened yet, but Phoenix's massive size was enough to push back the molten metal and make it thinner around the size. This allowed each of Genya's shots to blast holes large enough for them to escape through without getting burned, as long as they moved quickly.

Then suddenly the metal faltered a bit more, melting off the edges and splashing onto the ground. The entire structure nearly collapsed altogether, but then started trying to recompose itself again.

The rocks blocking the cave had been cleared, and now there was someone else in the cave who had the leader's attention.

"Stay out of this, witcher!" The leader barked at the figure. "I've no quarrel with you; not this time."

The figure in question did not 'stay out of it'. Golden cat-like eyes gleamed in the dim light as they caught sight of the group behind the barred blockade. Then, in a swift motion, the figure let loose a telekinetic wave that knocked the demon off his feet, causing whatever control of the bull he still had to finally break.

"Explain yourself, Menge. Now." A gravelly male voice ordered sternly. The figure stepped out of the shadows to confront Menge, revealing an armored, pale-skinned man with long white hair and two swords strapped to his back. After taking one good look at Menge, the white-haired man took out the smaller of his two swords and pointed it at Menge, who laughed as he rushed straight into the silver blade.

"Nice try, freak." Menge snarled, wrenching the silver sword out of the surprised white-haired man's hand, then pulling it out and tossing it aside. Menge then tried to pin the white-haired man down, though the white-haired man managed to push back to an extent, leaving them in a deadlock for the time being.

"Someone's bleeding back there. I can smell it." The white-haired man said to the group, pointing with his eyes deeper into the cave. "They may need help."

“By all accounts you may be right." Philippa said, though her tone and expression were far from pleased at the prospect. "It's a shame, really. I'd almost hoped they would be smarter than that."

Setting aside her musing, Philippa turned to face Ardyn and Muzan.

"If the Corps really is foolish enough to attempt a rescue, they will have already dug their own graves. All that remains is to pre-empt any Utopian intervention on their behalf." Philippa explained. "What do you intend?"

"He changed his form to Zenitsu's" Little Tanjiro will want to see his friend after all!" He said with Zenitsu's voice." When he'll see his best friend trapped in a cell miserable,he'll make himself known."
"Change back...I don't want to see one of those slayers..." Muzan hissed.
Ardyn transformed into Yoirichii Tsukigumi. "How about a "friend" of yours then?" Ardyn said,grinned.
Muzan looked horrified. "Not...him..."
Ardyn,changed back to himself. "Though for this plan to work,I'll need Ouphris and Gyutaro as well."

Phoenix’s fire softened the metal of the bars, allowing Muichiro’s sword slashes and Genya’s gunshots to make short work of the barricade.

Hearing the metallic clanging as the blockade fell, Menge bared his teeth and bit hard into the white-haired man’s neck. Menge managed to take a few greedy gulps of blood before the interloper made a hand motion that suddenly pushed Menge away.

While the white-haired man collapsed to all fours and reached for a black bottle from his belt, Menge turned his focus back toward the demon slayers, this time using a hand motion to create a magical shield around himself.

"Keep going. The shield can only take so much damage before it breaks." The white-haired man explained. He started to get up, but now there was something different about him. He staggered more than before, and now there were black veins running across his pale face and neck.

"Again with this blasted fog!" Menge snarled, annoyed. He made no attempt to pursue Muichiro at the moment, instead focusing on the weaker of his opponents: the white-haired man.

Rushing out of the mist toward his prey, Menge lunged at the white-haired man, who was still recovering. The white-haired man just looked at Menge, making no attempt to stop the crazed demon from biting into his flesh yet again.

Menge glared tauntingly at the two demon slayers as he greedily gorged himself on the white-haired man's blood...

Then the glare evaporated.

Menge stopped feeding on the white-haired man and threw him against the wall with a hard thud, but the damage was already done. Now Menge was retching and reeling, and the same black veins the white-haired man had were appearing all over Menge as well. Between that and Muichiro’s attacks, the shield dissipated into nothing.

"Now!" The white-haired man shouted. Blood was now dripping from his nose, and overall he was not in the best shape, but he pushed himself through it and reached for a different bottle from his belt.

Seeing Jill's guilt, Margarita immediately turned tense again. Jill was right, but perhaps there may be a better solution.

"You have a point, Jill. It would be cruel of me to make you keep such a secret from a close friend of yours." Margarita said soberly. "Perhaps it would be best if we erased your memory of this incident instead. And the same for you as well, Gentiana."
