Fantasy Tomorrow

Gil wavered for a moment under Zach's orders. Their leader wanted everyone's mind read. Gil's fingers crept into his hair. His heart rate pounced. There was a certain amount of privacy he relinquished when he sided with them, but on principle Gil wouldn't give someone permission to snoop into his mind. "You're wrong." He said. The words came out so sure it was ridiculous he regretted uttering them a moment later. Gil grated over his cracked bottom lip. He glanced at Neko and Anastasia. Like an audience to this conversation was really what he needed.

"Who here would willingly screw us over?" Gil slid his hand against his neck. "And damn." His voice rose. "You can't just force everyone to hand over their memories."

She blinked as someone seemed to just appear out of nowhere in front of her. Ella shook her head, she must be imagining things she really must. And then things got interesting when the girl who'd appeared came over to her.... and knew her name.... "Who the hell told you my name?!" Ella exclaimed irritated "And where did you come from because I must be imagining things since my eyes told me you appeared out of nowhere?!!" She scrambled up into a standing position now, wary as hell.

"I don't care about your guys past, we just just gonna look at the past six hours or your memories," I told Gil. Why would Gil be questioning my orders. "Gil, your going first," I said as I put the restraining bracelet on his arm. "You can't port anywhere to get out of it, sorry," I said this I out a restraining bracelet on myself, and then handed one to everyone but Anastasia, because she has to go through our minds.

((@Bea Delaine , you could re enter now, by @LittleWolfie post))

"I um.. ported in?" Gus offered with a cheeky grin.

"And i know your name so the big baddies wont get you.. but me knowing you means that they know you too and we cant have that." She explained abstractly, never having to do this job before.

"What as in teleported?!" Ella exclaimed, finding the idea insane "Because I hate to break it to you weird person but that's not a real thing, it's fictional" she pointed out, looking for her exits discreetly as she did so. "Oh and big baddies? What are you like five?! You're mental!" Ella finished up and with that she bolted along the station, debating whether to head for the tracks or the stairs.

Seeing nobody else around, Gus shrugged and figured she would prove herself. She sighed with slight offence ina skin deep way. Well, big baddies was a poor choice of words.

She teleported in front of the other girl and realized far too quickly she was in her line of running and gus wasnt a very tall or strong girl. Brace for impact and save the i told you so's.

Anastasia looked between the three guys before sighing. Hearing the Gil was the first to get his mind read, my eyes looked straight at him. Suddenly his thoughts, memories and past appeared in my mind. Looking at traces of the last several hours of his memories, Anastasia's face went from neutral to a complicated face. Something that always happens when she reads someone's mind. After seeing that there was nothing suspicious, she blinked her eyes to snap out of it. She looked at Zach and shook her head.

"Well that wasn't intrusive and against my free will at all." Gil let Anastasia fiddle through his memories. He stood still but it took effort not to squirm. Zack as a person was okay but his leadership skills were bordering on dictatorship. Maybe these people had been away from the world too long to register how intrusive this was. His eyes squeezed shut as he felt Anastasia nearing the encounter he had earlier. Her lack of reaction left him momentarily confused but Anastasia either wasn't fazed or hadn't noticed the memories of him getting into a brawl.

"Great. Happy now?" Gil disliked the pouty sound in his voice. He scowled. "And also you can go to hell."

"I'm sorry Gil, it had to be done," I said to him. The last time we had our minds read, was about a year ago. Someone had let one of IGRHS into the base, we made sure he would never speak of down here. We also turned the traitor into a normal homosapian, that so he would be harm to us ever again. "I hate that we have to do this Gil, and everyone else," I said to the entire group.

Anastasia looked back at Gil for a few minutes with no emotions showing. She didn't feel like talking. So turning to Zach, she kept her gaze on him. "There's something we need to talk about later on." Anastasia picked up a handgun looking like she was waiting to be told who was next. She didn't want to read minds of her friends but if someone broke in their home, she'll willing to do it.

Porting in front of the newer girl, her wild eyes turned softer and a bit more.. reachable. She placed a hand on a hip and hoped not to get knocked down, acting calm.

"Hey.. easy. Proof, see? Im not a lune. Just tryin gto be helpful. I know a place you can get something to eat without pay."

With how fast she was running, Ella didn't see the other girl at all, just felt herself crash into something and go sprawling to the ground. What the....??? She was confused as heck when she looked at what she'd crashed into, or more who and she scrambled backwards. "No, just no!" Ella yelled "I must be going crazy I really must" Now she was backing up still, trying to work out what was going on.

"Ooff." Gus let out a sound of discomfort as she fell back, but wasted no time scrambling to her feet. She extended a lithe and freckled hand to the other girl and tried a gentler approach.

"Nobodies crazy.. andi know you are trying to figure this out.. but i exist and you saw what you saw and.. you are hungry, right? Crazy seems clearer on a full stomach." She knew it was what Ella thought of earlier.

"Anastasia, I'm next," I told her holding out my hand. There is stronger connection by touch, memories are not as fuzzy. I knew what she was looking for, and for a good reason. She wouldn't look at my past six hours, but she would look at my past . . . some people would like to know more about me, but I like hiding my real self from the actual world.

Anastasia pushed herself off the table and strolled over to Zach. She placed her hand into his. The second she did, memories, clear as day, flooded her mind. Memories that belonged to Zach. Due to the stronger connection, it took mere seconds to look at his memories. Even though she was very good at reading minds, it still took some energy from her. Once she searched and found nothing of importance, Anastasia lifted her hand away from his snapping herself out of reading his mind.

"Okay screw it, this place is no longer under lockdown," I said in a mild tone. He walked around and turned off the bracelets, and put them back into the tech room. "Minds shall no longer be read, as I find in quite pointless, that not everyone is here," I said. I walked over to the computer and tried to slow down the footage even more, yet it was a fail.

CAL: "Sorry too alarm you Zachary, but it seems that someone just entered the area, with a distinct code of DNA. There also three IRGHS agents with them."

As soon as I heard that I yelled, "Everyone brace for impact. Grab a weapon, we may end up killing one off the assholes!"

Anastasia grabbed her favorite weapon before racing out of the room. In the back of her mind, she was trying to figure out what just happened back there. But right now wasn't the time to think about it. She had IRGHS agents to shoot at. Getting a quick glance at the agents, her eyes widen. No, it can't be... could it?! She shook her head as she prepared herself.

I quickly ported into the room where the IGRHS would be. I could sense that they had a very strong telepath with them. She was reading my mind from here. So I quickly pushed her out of my head. "Anastasia, take the back flank, and Gil I want you up front with me!" I yelled as the base doors broke opened. To a shock it was Anastasia's Mother and Father. They were both like us, no wonder Anastasia got the abilities like her parents. "Show no mercy!"

Nick grabbed two beretta 92fs putting one in the waistband of his pants and gripping the other tightly. He stayed hidden in a nearby hall his back to the wall. Keeping his breathing even he listened for any noises.

Gil removed the pistol from under his t-shirt. He snapped the safety off and glided forward. His aim went from the man to the woman. Incoherently, Gil registered Zack refer to them as Anastasia's parents. Whatever the deal with that was. The moment they approached he fired. One bullet hissed into the wall, the other spiraled into the man's neck. "One of them has powers. They could teleport." Gil spoke without taking his eyes off the intruders. "If they found us, it means this place is compromised."

Ella backed up further. "Yeah 'scuse me if I don't trust you on that one Crazypants" she replied, not liking this girl one bit. How in seven hells did she know that she was hungry? No... logical explanation... she must have just worked out that since most homeless people tended to be hungry right? Yeah... that must be it...

"You seem homeless.. hm?" Gus asked, reading exactly right after she thought it on accident, then facepalmed when she realized what she said wasnt helping.

"What can i do to prove to you im honest and not nuts?" She asked and attempted to shrug off her "guess." They had to hurry. She knew they were closing in.. she could feel their disgusting intents.

I couldn't believe my eyes, there I stood in front of Anastasia's parents. I thought they had died in a fire two years ago. I quickly ran towards them, and I grabbed a Kuntana, and charged with the blade pointing towards them. These tow people were the most evil IGRHS agents on the planet. I could not let them live.
