The boy's face turned red. He didn't want to sing another song to Jinx. The one he had made up for her when they first met was terrible.

"Uh... I don't know," Timmy said, trying desperately to weasel his way out of singing. "I can't really think of a song off the top of my head. Besides, I don't have a good singing voice. If I was still being tutored by my music teacher I might have been better. But that was years ago before the undead destroyed everything. My voice is out of practice. You don't want to hear me sing now do you?"

"I'll sing!" Timmy abruptly said. He would be embarrassed of singing in front of Jinx but he would never let her see him dance. In his opinion, he was the worst dancer on earth.

Standing up straight and loosening his jaws, the boy prepared to sing 'Nessun Dorma'. He hated this song but the boy knew it by heart because Professor Gilbert always made him sing it once everyday; hence the reason why Timmy hated it so.

As the teen uttered the lyrics, Tim Blank reminiscence his final moments with Professor Gilbert...

"I'm not going out there Professor!" screeched the crying child.

The Professor and the boy, dressing in an elegant tuxedo, were backstage of a world famous opera house. Stage technicians circled around them to prepared for the next act.

"Now's not the time for this Mr. Blank!" Professor Gilbert sternly said. "You have to go out on stage and sing. You're singing career hangs in the balance."

"I can't! I'm too afraid! There's soon many people watching."

"Nervousness is only natural. Use it as fuel to do your best. You are about to perform for a packed audience. Most adults could only dream of appearing here. How can you refuse to this chance?"

One of the stagehands spoke to the Professor, saying, "He starts in sixty seconds. I hope you two are ready."

"He's fine," Said Professor Gilbert to the technician. He then turned back to the boy. "Mr. Blank, I want you to go out there and sing. Sing like you've never done before. I believe in you! You know why? Because no one else does. We orphans have to help each other or we'll never succeed in this awful world. Now go! You're on!"

Timmy reluctantly walk out on stage. Every seat in the auditorium was taken and filled by the privileged, dress in sophisticated clothing. Their eyes pierced into the boy's soul causing his heart to beat rapidly. He gawked back to his Professor who glared at him from beyond the massive curtains.

Professor Gilbert's watchful eyes flamed up, 'Sing!' they said.

The music cue, which told Tim to began, chimed throughout the monstrous chambers. Timmy's soothing voice entered the audience's ears.

"Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Tu pure, o Principessa,"

He had finished the first line of the song. While singing, he watched the crowd's reaction to him. They smiled at the boy and seemed delighted at his serene voice. Timmy, finding confidence, continued his song with his voice becoming stronger on the next line. The child then noticed one opera goer was having a coughing fit. He was making quite a racket which caused Timmy to mispronounce a word. His timid voice returned. The coughing man suddenly fell from his seat and convulsed on the lush carpeting. Ushers went to the man as his seizures suddenly ended. He lay like a dead corpse on the floor. An usher knelt down to check the man's pulse. He then put his ear to the body's chest. In a flash, the man on the ground shot up and attacked the usher, biting his neck apart.

"Tramontate, stelle! All-!"

The boy stopped as chaos ensued throughout the opera house. The crazed man leaped on to the next usher and gnawed at his arm. The audience screamed in horror as they pushed each other to escaped from the dead man's clutched. Timmy felt himself being lifted up and carried away from the platform. Professor Gilbert took the young man back stage and into a dressing room.

"Don't leave this room," the teacher yelled as he exited the door, locking it behind him.

The boy shivered, still dazed from what he had seen. He hoped the Professor would soon return so they could leave this horrible mess.

...The boy finished singing for Jinx.

"Sorry!" Tim apologized. He did realize the song was making Jinx unhappy. "Um.. Truth or dare?"

Karson heard gunshots and quickly shot up off the small orange sofa she was sitting on. She heard someone on the roof and quickly went to go check it out, her two swords in her hands and her Doberman on her left side. She walked up the stairs and turned towards the sound. Clearly, she could hear the sounds of the walkers outside but for all she knows, they can't come inside. She walked into a small blue childs bedroom to come eye to eye with a older boy, a smaller one behind him. Karson flenched, about to stab one of her swords into his abdomen but stopped, still eye to eye to him. "You're another human.. First other humans that I've seen alive. But god damn, I thought that the first other alive would be smarter than to shoot off a gun. We won't be able to leave this place at least until tomorrow night." She said, sighing and backing up out of the boys face and putting her sword's back on her back.
@Nikki Rodgers

The sound of footsteps down the corridor suddenly caught his attention. "Fuck." He rasped, realizing he had mere seconds before another teen stepped into the room. He responded quickly to having a pair of blades aimed at him, by drawing his brothers Caliber and aiming it at the girl. He then began to quickly back up to where his brother was pressed between the wall and himself. Harrison twisted his hands into the back of his older siblings shirt, barely peeking out beside his shoulder. Truth be told, the younger boy hadn't even realized that they had company until he was being herded back. For the first time since he was little, his head throbbed from the light. He leaned his head against Oliver's shoulder and spoke a light, "I'm sorry." At the girls comment of his intelligence. He knew that firing a weapon was a bad idea, but at the moment, it was either risk attracting more or watching his sibling, the only person left that he cherished, be eaten alive.

Oliver shifted his shoulder's to better conceal the younger teen from harm. He twisted his face up in mock, tightening his grip on the weapon. "We had no choice." He responded, taking defense for the boy. As the girl stepped back, Oliver thought it was polite enough to lower his weapon. "Don't try anything." He spoke, monotonus, but clear. "I have no problem with shooting you." Oliver set the weapon into his belt, flicking on the safety before sighing. "What's your name?" He asked after a brief moment of silence, turning to help his brother. Oliver didn't like turning his back on a new person, but his brother was hurting and needed him. The brown haired boy felt the bits of adrenaline that kept him going fade away and he lost his balance when his grip into his brother's shirt was dismantled. "Woah, hey." Oliver spoke, wrapping his arms around the boy. "It's okay."

Oliver glanced over his shoulder at the girl, setting down his sibling. "He wasn't bit." He stated. "I think he's getting a cold or something."

Karson looked over at the two before replying. "Karson. This place is loaded with food, water, and medicine. Help yourselves." she said gruffly before turning around also and heading downstairs. She would have told them to get out, but by the looks of the two, they needed help. She replied to his comment about shooting her, "And I have no problem with stabbing you in the throat and letting my dogs tear you apart." She picked up her small lab as she headed downstairs, hopefully the two boys following her as she plopped down on the couch and waited for the two to help themselves to whatever was in the house, leaning her head back and closing her eyes. "So... you two drawing more of those walkers outside was a real bad idea, luckily they can't climb or come in here. They can't smell us either, hopefully. So we will just.. have to wait everything out.."

Timmy went to his room and laid down on the comfortable mattress. He thought about all the fun adventures his best friend and he would do in the morning...

You were all on the platform and I was waiting for chess to come to the building. I made it clear I only wanted chess.

Tilting their head, Chess didn't like the idea of going alone with this kid. Not in the slightest.

But, hey, if that's how they decided to move their piece, Chess's only right here was to follow along.

Walking over to Xi, Chess pulled out something from their jacket, shoving it towards him. Startled, Xi took a few steps back, but Chess grabbed him by his collar, pulling him down down to their height. Whispering something in their ear, they made their way over towards the cable. Chess didn't like the turn of events, especially considering their natural paranoia and skeptism towards everything both served to make them well aware of things happening around them, but just as overthinking as well. In fact, they could have well been over thinking the situation, seeing the worst possible outcome to it when it was far from that to begin with. Saluting off Xi and Go, Chess started to make their way towards the cable, gripping it's diameter in their hands, before something would tug at their sleeve desperately.

"W-why?! Let me come too!"

Chess shook their head and briefly gestured their head down towards Necro, waiting in the building.

"He's... he's a nice kid! He won't mind if I come along too?! Don't..."

From Necro's perspective, it was obvious that Jeson has quite a liking to Chess as well, seeming determined to come along from the numerous pointing and desperate arm/sleeve tugging. Though in the end, Chess gave him a firm pat on the shoulder, before wearily climbing down the cable towards the building.

"... that Necro kid is kind of odd."

"T-the files...???"

"... what did she tell you?"

Unlike Go and Xi's brief bewilderment, Jeson looked troubled. He watched as Chess made their way down before returning to the rest of the group, awkwardly fidgeting his hands in his pockets. Xi scratched their head for a second, as if trying to figure out how to phrase the words, before cocking his head to the side with an irksome grin.

“… they’re a tough peanut. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Paranoia will get both of them before it gets just them.”

“Yo, curly-kid, how’d you even empathize with the kid to begin with? The fuckin’ prick had me by the neck too…”

When chess made it over, metro nodded and gestured toward the door that went down into the building. Going before her, he opened the door and disappeared into the darkness beyond it. He knew they both had a hell of an adventure in front of them. This had been a clan's hideout for the longest time. He wasn't sure if they still subsided here, but you could never be too careful. He cocked his gun.

((oh god the adventures of two very cautious individuals who don't like each other))

Unlike Necro, who appeared to be aware of what he was doing and why they were here, Chess did not have that information. Sure, they were aware of what used to be present-day areas and where some connections where, as well as locations of each Syndicate and what they were up to, but you stop getting updates once people start to die. You just kind of, assume, that they got arrested, and then actually realize the whole weight of the apocalypse a few days afterwards. But from what Chess could tell, whatever the kid was being cautious about, it definitely wasn't good. The sound of a gun cocking seemed to surprise them, but not in the audible way. It was the more
shoulders jump or eye's widening type of surprise. Visually, not audibly. But it was one of the visual precedents on how anxious and uneasy that they were, before it melted back towards indifference. Necro had opened the door and disappeared into the poor, little lighting beyond it, and Chess followed (somewhat, but not too) closely behind, their revolver in hand. Chess did have a few other arsenals along with them, but their revolver was the quickest and easy-instant thing that they had within their own hand.

While Chess did consider speaking up, it was from what they considered that staying quiet might have been the best choice. How was the kid even going to respond? Better be quiet than be annoying.

Maybe someone he knows is in here? Or possibly he's aware of what was in this building before, which is why he's cautious towards it? Getting some intel would have been appreciated, but it seems he's more of an action-before-gesticulatory person. Well, actions do mean more than words, at least in this scenario.

Perhaps they will get information later on once they've wandered deep enough. If Chess goes long enough without knowing, they'll ask, no big problem. But as for now, they followed in Necro's shadow, making sure to keep their footsteps light, and well, their guard was already high from the moment this entire apocalypse started. It's what happens when you grow up thinking the entire world is a literal threat to your safety.
