Together Again - Story

Noburo stood at the edge of the path that lead to the gang's old secret tree house. He had been back for two years teaching at the old school but he hadn't been back here for eight years. In his left hand he held his bag ad in his right hand he had a broom. He swallowed hard as the nervous knot in his stomach grew in intensity. He shoved it away with one simple step. That one step was all it took for the rush of nostalgia to kick in and he found that he was walking faster. By the time he reached the tree house he was in a full sprint.

A huge smile appeared on his face as he starred up at the tree house. He slung his bag over his shoulder and climbed up the old rickety ladder that was the entrance. When he reached the top he was greeted by an empty tree house full of dust and dirt. He crawled in the tree house and stood up. Luckily they had built it big enough to easily fit everyone when they where fully grown. He smiled as he looked around the empty tree house as memories poured in and all sense of nervousness was gone. He placed his bag and the broom against one of the walls and opened up the windows to get some fresh air in.

He crouched down next to his bag and opened it. Inside was tons of cleaning supplies. Noburo looked at the watch he had on his arm and nodded. "7:00 AM. Perfect I should have enough time to get this place cleaned up". He pulled out the necessary supplies and a speaker. He hooked up the speaker and music began to play. He stood up with knew enthusiasm, pushed up his glasses so they fit better on his face, pulled on some gloves and rolled up the sleeves of his pink polo shirt. "Alright! Lets do this!". Noburo quickly set to work. Scrubbing, sweeping, and dusting as the music echoed through the trees. Hopefully by the time the other would get there the tree house would be squeaky clean.

X  EMIKO NANASE X

One flight from New York to Haneda and a train ride later, Emiko was a few minutes away from her hometown of Chigasaki. Main attraction: Shōnan areas shoreline, running from Chigasaki towards Kamakura - a place with far less people and where Emiko had decided from a young age would be her retirement town. It had the familiarity of the home she grew up in, but the charm of traditional Japanese culture with its many temples and seasonal festivals. That, and most of her family hailed from Kamakura. Mother had broken the tradition and relocated to Chigasaki, rich in population and celebrating the Hawaiian lifestyle every Friday as the birthplace of Japanese surfing. Moving to New York had been jarring, being a very diverse and energetic City - in comparison, Chigasaki was quite the small town that enjoyed the simple things.

Even as the scenery did not differ much from Samukawa, Emiko knew well when she was merely seconds away from Kagawa Station. Normally, it was better to skip this station altogether and go straight to Kita-Chigasaki Station in the heart of the City, but she would be taking a detour to their secret [and no doubt old] tree-house. When she had arrived in Japan that morning, Emiko had not been plagued by nerves as she was now; leg was bouncing, fingers tapping at her temple and overall a jittery mess. The woman beside her must think she was in the midst of a panic attack.

"Next stop: Kagawa Station is approaching. Thank you so much for using JR again today."

Emiko gathers her backpack and slides past the woman in the aisle seat to retrieve her deep maroon suitcase from the baggage tray. Some jerk had squished his rather bulky [and much larger] suitcase atop of hers. After some struggle, she was the last off the train with her shoulder clipping the closing door on her way. She swears under her breath and hustles towards a quiet bench, away from those reuniting with friends, families, lovers and pulls her phone out.

TO: Umeko ♥

Just arrived at Kagawa. Meet you at the tree-house?

She hadn’t been able to get much sleep last night. She had gone back over her spare room just to make sure the dust was all gone. She had gotten over the memories mostly. She hadn’t told Emiko that she had moved back into her childhood home. The little townhouse she grew up in. Her grandparents never sold it. They had given the keys to the place when she graduated college as a gift. It was nice and close to enough the school she worked at was just a morning jog away. She had set up her old room for her dear friend to stay.

Her phone buzzed on the table and she leapt for it. It was comical the overjoyed look on her face as she had almost fallen over to get at her phone. She scrolled down the message. “HERE, you're here! We’re all gonna be there.” It was time. It was time to see everyone again. Her thumbs fumbled typing a reply.

To: Emiko

Just finished cleaning! See you there, I’m going for a run! :D

Sadly Emiko was the only number she had out of all of them. She had near done a backflip when Emiko had needed a place to stay, she could stay with her it would be perfect. Currently the tall young woman was pulling a shirt and jacket over her head while also trying to pull on a very tight pair of compression pants at the same time. Then it was socks and she tripping over her feet to tie the laces of her running shoes tight enough. Tossed her phone into the little sling like back she wore for her runs and out the door locking up behind her.

She closed the chest high metal gate as she slipped past onto the sidewalk. She dropped down  knees bent just pads of her feet touching the pavement fingertips pressed into the surface as well arms straight. Her heart was beat so fast and her stomach was a giant knot. She had a huge grin on her face and it was like a memory of the past. Today, she could make them all smile again.

“GO!” she yelled and she pressed off running like it was the race of her life. Her hair swept back by the wind in around her. She knew the way, she use to run it all the time. She was making to much noise she should’ve been lighter on her feet, but she was to focused on her meeting of friends to keep her feet from hitting heavy. She was a blur, but it was such a marvelous and longed for day this was the only way that felt right to go.

She was as usual to distracted and ran right past the tree house aimed to keep going. Did she hear music. She turned around so fast she almost sent herself onto her butt. She caught herself with her hand and flung herself back toward her destination. She came to a slow stop in front of the old thing that was there hang out. She was beaming, and made a slow almost nervous walk to the base of the tree. It had been so long. It was awkward to climb the ladder she had long limbs and had to skip a few planks on her way up.

She poked her head into the tree house. She watched a large grin on her face. She knew. He was taller, but she knew. He was cleaning. “Just like old times I guess.” She laughed and pushed up her sleeves and grabbing a scrub brush as she moved across the space. It was big enough sure, but it still looked small to the tall Umeko. She didn’t say high, but started cleaning with him. It was little past 8, but she was always late to help with class clean up anyway.

It had been a long time since she had seen Naburo. She stared at him for a little while then she smirked. “I’m still taller.”

Nestled away amidst an untouched patch of nature in Chigasaki was a small structure. A fortress lost to time, where nine children would temporarily retreat from the world and all of its problems. When here they were untouchable. Just being within these walls they felt as if they could do anything. At least that was what they had once believed. Scanning the walkway toward the familiar tree hours Kumiko slowly began to walk forward. Her attire was that of her daily work outfit; a white dress shirt, plain black skirt and jacket, leggings, and high heels. It was to her tastes a bit plain but her options were rather limited, a large portion of the remainder of her wardrobe being far more focused on comfort rather than throwing about a professional air. Now an adult she found herself caring far less for elite standard she swore by, yet this was a particularly special exception. She had to put her best foot forward.

That was why she had left early in an attempt to prepare herself both mentally and emotionally. Ever since the group had broken apart she found herself unable to try and remain connected with the others despite having various methods to communicate with them. In the face of all the changes she had to endure throwing that on as well was just too much. As such she simply pushed forward working with all her might to a better future. This day was one she had been envisioning regularly for the last eight years beginning with Kai's farewell. She needed this to go well. She wanted to show off again to try and outshine Ren despite having fallen so far from grace. She needed to know that Makoto and Umeko were both alright. She missed the silent understanding that she and Seto shared, Aya's habit of getting flustered, and even the constant mocking she and Noburo shared with one another. Yet despite having longed for this day she now found herself on the verge of panicking over the ways this could go awry. What if she was the only one to get here? Was she just a fool for believing in some promise between kids for so long? What if those memories she held of her friends meant nothing and they despised each other? Then there was Emiko. She wasn't entirely sure what she felt for her former friend after learning of what she had done but it wasn't pleasant.

Feeling sweat begin to form in her palms she reached into her jacket's pocket pulling out a small rectangular container, lifting the top to pull a single cigarette from the container. Inside only three remained, a reminder of just how uncomfortable she found herself with her own thoughts at this moment. She had just purchased this pack yesterday and had been using it at an alarmingly rapid pace for her normal standards. Despite having gone to the best of efforts to mask the scent in perfume a noticeable hint of it lingered on. Pressing her lips against the object she reached up with her hand, now clutching a small bright yellow lighter. Yet before she lit it a screeching filled her ears. It was faint, like some kind of dying animal. Grimacing in response she continued toward the source, finally stopping at the tree house which had been blasting out the foreign rock music. Grabbing the cigarette between her index and middle finger she stared at the object silently for a few seconds before throwing it off to the side. Not exactly the wisest move and one she knew she would come to regret later, but for right now the lingering threat of her voice ending up like Mr. Johnson's was enough to deter her from her addiction.

"Damn it," Kumiko mumbled, placing her hand on her hip as she stared at the tree house. Someone had beaten her here. Why couldn't they have been fashionably late? Doubling back wasn't a viable option either. Bumping into one of them on the way out would be awkward. Retreating off the main path wasn't wise either after going to the effort to try and look presentable. Tilting her head slightly she focused on the windows, hoping to catch a glimpse of whoever may be within as they pass by.

Noburo was to lost in his cleaning and music to notice anyone approach and the sudden voice caught him off guard. "Son of!" He turned around as fast as he could but his feet tripped over the broom. He fell with a loud "thud" and a yell. It took Noburo a minute to recover but when he did he reached into his pocket and paused the music. Noburo sat up and rubbed the back of his head placing his glasses back on his face. That was when he saw who was standing a little bit away from him.

A large smile crossed his face before he managed to hide it. "It's been eight years and yet you're still trying to foil my plans." Noburo stood up and dusted off his pink polo shirt and grey slacks. His skin was almost a sickly pale color and he moved his hands in a shooing motion. "You may be taller but I'm still older. Now go. Be gone you little bug and come back later. The adult in the room still has work to do." despite his words he couldn't stop his emotions from showing and a small half smile formed in his face signalling the joy he felt.

FROM: Umeko ♥

Just finished cleaning! See you there, I'm going for a run!  :D

It was hard to restrain the smile and how silly she must appear, sitting on a bench by herself and grinning at the phone in her grasp. Though this was indeed the age of technology and in New York, everyone had their faces in mobile devices - this was a small town in comparison with mainly retired folks residing. Umeko made it easy to smile nowadays, in those rare moments that she felt her job wasn't worth it anymore, when memories of her involvement in exposing the Itou family arose, even when she was sure those damn loan sharks would be her shadow until they finally offed her.

But would it just be them? Would anyone else even show up? Honestly, Emiko had never forgotten about the promise they had made as children... but if she had not stayed connected with Umeko, there is no way she would have taken the trip to revisit a past she much rather forget. Her own actions heavily influenced how she viewed even the wonderful moments - the times that music blared throughout the tree-house, how she would try so hard to get everyone up and dancing, to just forget the struggles of school and home life for just a moment and be free. Or the times when they would play pretend - she always decided on being a pirate, a first-mate; someone to depend on, someone who got the job done. And how she ultimately failed in the end.

Luggage in tow, Emiko travels the familiar path to where their place of serenity resided - and immediately pauses as the figure looming outside the tree-house comes into view.

He fell and she laughed. It was the same loud noise she was known for and echoed over his music to those with ears outside the tree house. “To be honest there isn’t much to foil now is there? “ She chuckled all grins. She hadn’t felt it tell know how much she missed them. She had missed them, but this she missed their smiles so much, even Noburo’s. He had glasses now. She laughed to herself they suited him.

“Pssh as if I’d let have all the glory. No living with you.” She crossed her arms and cocked a hip to the side. “ I alone work tirelessly to restore the glory of or beloved tree house to its former glory. “ Her impression of him. She teased him like old times. “ I’ll help, cause I can reach the corners and you can’t” She laughed turning her back to him looking out the small window. It felt at home to play this game with him. It might have been 8 years, but in this moment it felt like just yesterday. She could see that hint of a smile on his face and it made her smile more brightly. To live in moment like these she had messed them so. She admitted she had hoped to see Emiko first, but Noburo was also fitting.

Kumiko placed a hand against her arm, gripping it as she listened to the people within their old base of operations. The music had stopped. Two voices, a male and a female. They sounded to be older than some bored students who decided to invade their territory. All signs pointed to other people fulfilling the promise. Letting out a deep sigh she considered the alternative; just turn and leave. This would be her last chance. Anything that happened after today could tarnish those memories.

'No, no. Stop it. You're being ridiculous,' she thought, glancing over her shoulder only to visibly flinch as an individual came into view. She was a bit taller but aside from that there weren't too many changes as far as appearance went. Locking eyes with Emiko she felt her expression slowly fall from that of concern to a defensive glare. Turning away she began to briskly walk toward the ladder, awkwardly struggling to climb the planks connected to it on her way up. Everything about this seemed so much more grand when she was younger. There was no other option now but to press forward. This was going to be a pleasant experience so long as she could keep a safe level of distance. While she was cautious of Emiko she had already considered that her own grudge may ruin the reunion. That was unacceptable. It was time to be brave.

Reaching the main entry she dusted off her lap instinctively, trying to cultivate an air of professionalism as she knocked against the wood with her fist twice. Rather than waiting for a response she instead walked inside immediately after, forcing a smirk onto her face as Umeko and Noburo came into her sight.

"Wow. Glasses really suit an old man like him, huh?" Kumiko joked, shooting Umeko a grin as she taunted the history teacher.

Noburo's smirk grew even larger as another person came up the ladder. She may have changed aperance wise but that is one voice he would never forget. "Well well look what came barking up my tree." time for a good old fashion argument. He have a thumbs up and a cocky smile. "These glasses are merely a physical extension of my intellectual supiority." he was caught up in his own self praise that he forgot about cleaning for a moment. However it soon returned to him. "Both of you out! Also I don't need help reaching the corners you freakin gaunt. I came prepared." he walked over to his bag bad pulled out an extending cleaning stick. "I have utensils so I don't need any help. Now Both of you shoo and don't come back for another hour!"

@Masia @Ammy

"Another hour? But I'm so bored!"

In the doorway of the treehouse stood Aya, curvaceous and blonde, in all her newfound glory. She wore a little black skirt that hugged her thighs along with a nice jumper to keep her warm. When she was younger, she had lived in baggy jumpers that hid her figure and kept her warm, but now it was fitted and probably rather expensive. She curled her long fingers around the doorframe, drumming her false nails against the old wood, plump lips curled into a small smirk.

There they were. Noburo, he had poked fun at her although that hadn't stopped her from adoring him and everything he did. Emiko, whom she had cared for and fussed about like a mother. Umeko, tall as ever. Kumiko, shooting a tease towards the only male currently present. It wasn't everybody but even so, Aya felt a wave of nostalgia crash over her.

"It's sort of weird, being back here. This place always seemed so big when we were younger," She commented casually, not yet moving from the doorway in case Noburo really wanted all of them to leave. She had cleared all of her appointments just to get to Chagisaki earlier, and although she felt bad about disappointing her customers, it also felt like a good decision. After all, these were her friends, and she had barely spoken to them since she had moved away.

Had she changed that much?

Makoto parked her car a few meters from the path to the secret tree house, getting out with a tray packed with some home made goodies for the get together. She wore blue jeans, white blouse and a speckled black and grey blazer.  As he walked to the tree house she had to admit he felt a little strange going to meet everyone after his change unsure of how they would react or how he will react to them. He tried to tell himself that he didnt care either which way they react, he was happy now and he didnt need them to like it but still he couldnt help feeling a little nervous. There was a few he was looking forward to see some people others less so, but all tried to help him as a teenager, some a litte too much, so didn't want them to be disappointed.

he took the deep breath and walked down the path to the tree house. He tried to push his thought of his mind and wondered whether people will recognise her and thought for a moment. He smiled slyly as a thought of to test it out. "Hey! You people up the tree! Who ordered the food platter!? I hope you guys dont expect me to carry this up! Unless there is a good tip in it!" He called out her voice being more feminine than it was before.

Noburo turned at the sound ofvAya's voice but holly hell he was not expecting this. His eyes scanned her body back and a small whistle left his lips. "Well looks like little kid proper grew up nicely." His mind then had a thought as his eyes moved from one girl to the other. He placed his hand on his chin while He anaylized him. A stupid grin crossed noburo's face as he nodded to himself.

Finally Noburo accepted that they weren't going to leave so he scratched the back of his head in defeat. "Fine you girls don't have to leave but I still have work to do so either grab a pair of gloves from the bag or stay out of my way." He turned away from them and walked to his bag grumbling about how he should have show up at five to start cleaning instead of seven.

Another femine voice interrupted his cleaning as she yelled something about food. Noburo pied his head out the window and looked down seeing two people. One was obviously Emiko, Seeing her but a genuine soft grin on his face. After all Noburo had been in love with her and the feelings hadn't completely left him. Then he noticed the one who had yelled about food. His brows curled onwards as he tired to recognize the girl carrying the food. Noburo the voice sounded like Makoto. His confusion slowly faded and was replaced by a Small devilish smile as he made his way to the ladder and slid down.

Noburo slid down and landed softly at the base of the tree. Staring at his full height he slowy approached Makoto. He held out his hand for the food platter. "Allow me Madame. Or would it still be Monseuir?

Seto jolted awake from the realization he overslept and was supposed to be meeting with his childhood friends by now. Instinctively, Seto grabbed his computer bag, took his laptop off the charger, the book he was reading and his wallet, and hastily put it in the bag. Quickly prepping for predicted rain later in the day, he put on his sweatshirt and grabbed his umbrella. Finally getting everything together, Seto grabbed his bike from near the door and carried it out, locking the door behind him.

Now running down the apartment's outdoor cement staircase, he kept thinking about what everyone would be like now, and how much they changed. Like how Emiko would end up doing in her life or if noburo changed much, he liked how he was growing up, or if Kumiko remained the same protective person as she was before she left. Seto got so wrapped up in his thoughts, he almost stumbled and fell down the last flight of stairs. Snapping back into reality, he reached the bottom, got onto his bike and gave it his all and biked his hardest the ten miles the tree house was away.

Finally he arrived on the old path they made years ago that led up to the old tree house. He still fondly remembers everyone working on it one summer and accidentally falling asleep every time the worked, usually waking up with more of it complete each and every time. Seto stopped his bike and drank some water, after all, he did just bike as hard as the pros during the "tour de France." Dropping his bike, he began walking down the path, with a nervous grip on his computer bag strap, tightening over every moment.

(sorry it seems a little rushed, I'm in school and I have tons of things I need to do)

Aya smoothed down her jumper and dusted some imaginary lint from her skirt, flashing Noburo a coy smile as he looked her up and down. When she was younger she had found herself rather fond of him, almost romantically rather than platonically, yet he had always seemed to have eyes for someone else. She felt fifteen again suddenly and she didn't like it, so she was grateful when the attention was diverted. Another feminine voice, one that was familiar and yet foreign at the same time-- she was sure she recognised it yet something was different. She peered out of the 'door' to look down and was taken by surprise when her gaze fell upon Makoto. Wow. Sure, back when they were teenagers they'd discussed beauty tips and things like that, but to see that he --or rather, she-- had changed so much was just quite surprising.

"Ooo. Somebody's looking fine." She teased, cocking her head to the side and grinning at her friend.

Makoto smiled upon seeing Nuboro, recognising him almost immidietly as he climbed down the tree house.  This was one of the people he looked forward to seeing again, one of the biggest asses  he knew but one who had helped him a lot during their time together. His confidence was always an inspiration to Makoto who tried to emulate. Nuboro certainly had a growth spurt over the years, the child like face became more mature and handsome. He chuckled at the question. " You had to be an ass and figure it out. I had a whole reveal planned." He said jokingly before placing his hand on his hip.' What a question to ask a gal... Who taught you manners?! I kid. Whatever I don't care really. Makoto is fine."

The taller woman turned and smiled at the other two who had popped in. “Kumiko! And Aya!” She smiled at them. It was a warm site to see them all, but she was rushing past to the ladder and down. She was happy to see the two, but there was a girl with a suitcase. She almost just jumped from the treehouse, but hopped down the ladder groups of steps at a time.

“Emiko! Emiko!” She gave her her no time to respond before the shorter woman was lifted up in the tightest embrace luggage and all. “I’m so glad!” She was choking back tears like a child as she set her friend down. She took the suitcase from her there would be no fighting her for it. “Kumiko and Aya are already inside. “ She beamed and he face hurt she was smiling so hard.

She turned and little bit of a confused look on her face.  She that was Makoto! She tilted her head probably the most shocked out of all of them. “ I never thought, Makoto would end up with bigger boobs than me. “ She squinted wondering over. She looked like she would say something but she just laughed.  She turned away a looked back up at the tree house. She was laughing, but tears were rolling down her face. She was so happy. Everyone was coming, they were really coming. She sniffed and wiped her eyes with her sleeve. She had always been a big weepy idiot when it came to things like this.

“Come on, we have lot to do before the last of us gets here.” She was still smiling walking back to the ladder and up it with Emiko’s suitcase. “ You girls too.” She shouted as she climbed. “ Grab something and get to knocking the dust off something. Gotta make sure we look better than Noburo. Show him up really good.” She said his name loud as she could making sure he heard it. She placed Emiko’s suitcase down and out of the way for the moment and grabbed a rag and started cleaning high. She still had a few tears, but there was so much catching up to do. She had lost so much time.

"Did you expect anything different form Moi? Charming women with good conversation skills have never been my strong suit." he took the platter of food and chuckled as he watched Umeko bear hug Emiko. "Looks like someone is overly excited" commented Noburo but that was before Umeko commented on Makoto's breast. They where I need bigger then Umeko's and Noburo had very mixed feelings about it. However Noburo's eyes drifted down the path as as seto came into view. Seto didn't look to different from when they where younger so it wasn't hard to recognize him. Noburo raised his free hand in greeting at him. "Yo been awhile!"

He then heard Umeko tell from inside the tree house and he turned around to tell back up at her. "Oi! If you're going to show me up make sure you do it right! I don't want to have to clean up after you!" he sighed and whispered under his breathe "Guess that means we still need Ren and Kai."

"Damn, and here I was hoping that my boobs would surprise people," Aya remarked jokingly, folding her arms over her bust with another cheeky grin. Sure, she'd filled out considerably, but how can you compete with someone who didn't even have boobs before? Not that she was competing of course, heheh.

"It's weird seeing you all. In a good way, of course," The blonde added, leaning against the wall and looking around. It had seemed like forever before she arrived but now, looking upon everyone and hearing their voices, it felt like only yesterday they'd been in this treehouse gossiping and joking around, sharing secrets and teasing one another. She realised then that she had missed the sense of belonging that she felt when she was with her old friends. Sure, she had plenty of friends (not to mention lovers) nowadays, but they paled in comparison. The bonds just weren't as sacred.

X  EMIKO NANASE X

From what she remembers, Kumiko had not known of her involvement in her fathers case at the time Emiko left town; by the glare her former friend fixated her with, it is obvious that is no longer the case. Yet she proves that she is the bigger person and turns away, climbing the surprisingly stable ladder to their tree-house. Emiko lingers at the bottom, suitcase in hand and wondering if this was even worth facing her demons.

A woman rolls up beside her, before Emiko has a chance to get out of her own mind and for a moment, she is confused. Who...? And then it makes sense when Makoto calls up to those in the tree-house. She smiles, somehow her entire childhood, the way Makoto would act... she understood now. About to comment on how much she missed him - her - Noburo makes his way down the tree-house in record time.

She always felt an overwhelming sense of shame for involving him in the case and seeing him brought those moments back, when they discovered the truth. Putting her remorse aside for the time being, Emiko returns his smile, genuinely happy to see that he has done well for himself. He's so much taller!

"Emiko! Emiko!" A voice calls from above and suddenly, Umeko is lifting her in a hug that she returns with her one free arm, a bubble of laughter escaping through her grin. From all the years they had stayed in touch, their actual trips to see each other started to fade and it had been years since Umeko had last hugged her. And yet it seems like no time had passed at all, that they were right into their normal ways and Emiko leans out of her hug to marvel at how tall she still was.

"Do you ever stop growing?" She laughs.

As her friend yanks the suitcase from her hand - she opens her mouth to argue, but it was pointless with Umeko, once she set her mind to something that was that - and begins to scale up the tree-house, Emiko dutifully follows in order to repair their place of serenity [and now, possible new drinking hideout]. She passes Noburo on her way to the ladder and pats his shoulder in greeting.  Her fingers take hold of the planks, pulling at them slightly to test their durability. Satisfied, Emiko begins to climb, thinking of the countless times she did this as a child.

"Hey people seriously my eyes are up here!"Makoto complained jokingly as ever one gathered putying her arms around her breast as if to cover  himrself up. "You all are pereverts  you know that? " she chuckled and looked at everone there taking everyone in. Everyone looked amazing and it was difficult to process everyone and pick one in particular to interact with. He fell into an old habits, remaining silent and hearing evertone interact. So much for being a changed person, he thought to himself a little annoyed.

Noburo smiled as He felt Emiko's hand pat his shoulder. It had been to long since he last saw her. Though doubts filled his head as he guessed that her and Kumiko where still at odds. It was understandable that they still hadn't made up but it confused Him why Kumiko was still acting like she use to around him. Didn't Kumiko know that Noburo had played a roll in bringing down her father as well? He shoved the thought aside and yelled over at Seto. "Might as well get over here. Everyone else is!" After yelling that he followed Makoto and Emiko up the ladder Climbing one handed as he was holding the food in the other.

When he reached the top he slid the tray of goodies in the entrance and pulled himself up. He grunted grumpily as he took the lid of the food and started to gnaw on one of the treats. He placed them next to his bag before he started rummaging through his bag. Noburo then walked over to the speaker he had set up and began to pack it away as he no longer had a need for it. While he was packing it he found time to complainant Mako on the food. "Merci pour la cuisine, Madame Makoto."

Kai rolled out of his bed with a groan, the remants of his 'adventures' of last night remained in his bed. He wondered how he was gonna tell her she had to leave, if only I could remember her name he thought to himself. With a smile he figured out a way out of the name dilemma, "Hey beautiful time to get up, I have an important meeting I have to go to so you need to leave." It wasn't a lie today was the day that Kai and his friends promised to meet in eight years time, and honestly Kai had thought about skipping it, but the promise had been made right before Kai had left to live with his father. Just thinking about his father filled Kai with fear and he flinched.

After finally getting the girl to leave Kai got ready to go to the old tree house. After putting on a pair of khaki slacks and a white button up, Kai ran his hand through his hair and flashed himself that 'million dollar' smile in the mirror before heading out the door. The trip to the tree house was quite pleasant with a mixture of excitement and dread filling him as he neared the simple structure that used to be like a second home to him. It was very apparent that Kai was one of the last ones to arrive. So he made his way, quite begrudgingly, up the all to familiar ladder into the tree house, "Man first to leave, and last to arrive how did I manage that?" Hey asked with a smirk on his face.

Noburo paused as he heard someone climb the ladder. It was Kai and he was braggng about how he was first to arrive. He smirked as he stood up silently and walked to the entrance. He crossed his arms and a cocky grin was implanted on his face. Once Kai got into view Noburo decided it was time to burst his bubble. "More like first o leave almost last to arrive. Sorry but the glory of first place goes to me." Kai had certainty grown up becoming annoyingly handsome. Kai was probably popular with the ladies, which annoyed Noburo even more.

Kai gave his friends a confused look, almost last to arrive he thought to himself. He looked around the room and noticed that indeed there were in fact two people still missing, Ren and Seto. Still Kai had to gain his composure and get the last word in, and noticing that everybody was cleaning while Noburo stopped to 'greet' him, Kai smirked "Oh Noburo you never cease to amaze me, how are you going to make all these beautiful young ladies clean while you sit there?"
