Squad141 Gadiel is so intriguing! Since it looks like he's been around for some time, do you have any initial thoughts on him vs. Thea or Mara?

I'll have to read up again on those two, but I don't think he'd have particularly difficult feelings regarding them; Mara is a Lady of another great House, and we would treat her as much as he would any other, though he might enjoy any consultations with her a little more due to her well-meaning attitude. Thea would probably be a bit of a relationship, since funnily enough, Gadiel reads as someone older despite being younger than her. Plus, he's always willing to talk to another Witch about their experiences and any relation to the Green One.

maylee is definitely far less hostile towards witches than other types of arcane beings, since they are essentially humans! before becoming a vampire, she probably generally didn't trust witches who worked so closely with vampire families, but given how isolated she feels now, i think she'd be more inclined to subconsciously gravitate towards witches, seeing them as the closest things to humans that she'll be able to interact with. as much as she tries to keep people at a distance and rely only on herself, maylee really is the kind of person who needs connection with other people.

i can see them having some common ground as far as feeling like they need to prove themselves—with thea wanting to prove herself as a top spellcaster and not taking well to any kinds of insults or doubts against her abilities, i can see maylee empathizing with that, as she had to spend a lot of time as a hunter proving herself due to not really fitting the stereotypical image of a tough-looking, seasoned hunter. i'm not sure how inclined thea would be to finding common ground with a former hunter though, LOL. that same drive to prove herself may end up coming back, though, if maylee does end up developing to identify with the vampires and acknowledge the flaws of the hunters. i can imagine a former monster hunter would have an uphill battle to "prove" herself as someone who truly belongs in vampire society.

The European families could be so mean about it to, come to think of it. And you know he's going to have to constantly make sure/order her to drink some blood. i apologize in advance for any headaches she causes for godric the thought of the other vampires joking about her being his “child” is actually lowkey adorable though lmao. if maylee got wind of that, she’d be FURIOUS, given what happened to her adopted dad. something something “YOU’RE NOT MY REAL DAD”

i could totally see them having met at some point! i don’t know if godric would have ever consulted him, as she’d definitely have been around for that, but they could also just have crossed paths too! i think she would regard him with a lot more suspicion and initial hostility than she would most witches, given that he works with the ruthvens, and they’re known for being especially ruthless and depraved—she’s probably lost many a friend to the ruthvens. she also wouldn’t be able to deny that she finds him a very fascinating person, though, and she’d probably be drawn into his mystique despite herself.

Given Paige's connection to the Kaltenbruns, I wouldn't be surprised if Rennick called her in to help with Maylee's Deathdealer training (especially 'cause his patience for that sort of thing is so low xD ).

Israel quick question for you, I am trying to figure out why the Ruthven’s would allow my character’s family to stick around and how they would have proved themself to be useful, so I was thinking either 1. they provide valuable resources like the machines/various chemicals they use in their experiments or 2. they were instrumental in the Ruthven’s expanding outside of Scotland somehow? I’m leaning towards this one because then maybe my character is training to become the next family advisor?

Soviet Panda how tolerable is Godric to chaos? because the character I have in mind knows that being a werewolf in a higher position already puts her at a disadvantage so when she deals with the other houses she is….how do you say…..a smart-mouth sass machine? Maybe not outright disrespectful to the vampires but politely snarky, just enough to get under their skin but still get away with it.

Of course Gadiel can interact with either of them. I would highly recommend basing how your character interacts with them by their personality. I would recommend being careful around Rivaille, as he can fly off the handle lol. As for Raziel, he is very cautious around anyone affiliated with the Ruthvens. He might act rather skittish lol.

I'm also planning on bringing in two of the other Ruthven siblings (the NPCs) in the first couple of posts ((I must unleash my babies upon the masses lol)). They will be considered the "more stable" of the bunch, so feel free to interact.

Up to you! The second one might be great because some of the siblings (ahem Rivaille, Romelo, and Romina) definitely need someone to coordinate them and prevent them from making horrible mistakes. Albeit I must admit it might be a stressful endeavor lol.
