ThrashMetallix
Starfleet Captain, USS Rainier (NCC-92604)
For years now, the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation has exploited our homes out here among the New Frontier. For years, we’ve resisted them, for years we have stood against them, and engaged in all out war, and there was a time when we thought we were winning. We have been fighting this damn war now for over three decades, and now, the fighting is beginning to cease, because the IMC is on the verge of taking everything. The resources they’ve accclaimed during this war, and the backing they have from Earth and the Core Worlds has given them a tremendous advantage over us, and their technological advances are just too much. We used to be on level fighting ground. Now, the tides have turned against us. Many of the Frontier Militia are beginning to lose hope. The IMC is taking everything our forefathers have built, and made for us out here, and returning nothing. Many of us have lost friends, and loved ones, and many of us have given up the fight. We’re experiencing a shortage of manpower, and the pilots who once led our forces have become increasingly short in supply. We’ve managed to evade the IMC for some time now, but we can no longer afford to go on the offensive as much as we used to. With past victories at Demeter and Typhon, the IMC should have suffered a crippling blow, but they’ve somehow managed to recover from those losses. We’ve been unable to figure out how they’ve managed to make such a recovery, and I fear that if we do not figure out just how they’ve managed such a feat, the Frontier wil be lost....
SETTING AND ROLE:
This role play takes place in the early 23rd Century, about 2241 to be precise. Specific battles and events within the Titanfall Lore have never been specified, so a lot of what has taken place is mainly approximated as to when it happens. In this role play, the Battle for Demeter takes place in 2211. You will be playing the role of a Militia pilot that went into battle around 2216. However, an accident has left you in a state of cyrogenic preservation, of which you only survive due to the actions of your personal Titan. While you miraculously survive your endeavor, you’ve awakened these many years later to discover that the war you’ve been fighting is nearly lost, and that the IMC is very much on the verge of a complete, and total victory. With the tables changed, the setting different, how will you approach the same war you’ve been fighting, when everything has completely changed?
EDIT:
So this Roleplay got a bit more popular than I thought it would, so I’ve added a new section of pilots for player characters to b e. The frozen pilot group is already filled up, so the remaining pilot slots will be Pilots who have been fighting in the Frontier War for the Militia, and are among the few remaining pilots left for the Militia. You’re one of the few big weapons the Militia has left, as they are having difficulties training new pilots.
What are Pilots?
Pilots are not your typical foot soldier. Pilots are highly trained, very agile, and quick-thinking individuals who go through rigorous exercises to excel where regular foot soldiers would fail. With a variety of tricks up their sleeve, ranging from cloaking, to being heavily skilled in acrobatics, they are considered nearly unstoppable for any average human. It is said that the only way to defeat a pilot, is to use an overwhelming force, or introduce an equally skilled pilot. Pilots are equipped with a standard “jump” kit which allows them to jump greater distances, and even execute movements which include advanced parkour and wall-running. But of course, the biggest thing that separates a pilot from an average grunt, is its ability to pilot a Titan, and the unique bond it shares with the Titan.
Pilot Abilities:
-Cloaking:
Renders you invisible, but only for a short duration. (I'll say roughly five minutes)
-Grappling:
You're equipped with a grappling hook that you may shoot onto any surrface, or even other people. You will immediately be whisked to the area you grappled.
-Holo-Pilot:
You create a holographic decoy of yourself, which moves as you do for a short duration.
-Stims:
Boosts your reflexes and speed for a duration, as well as grants limited healing to wounds.
-A-Wall:
Creates a particle barrier which is impervious to any damage for a short amount of time. You are able to shoot through this barrier, and your shots are amplified.
-Pulse Blade:
You carry a sonic-blade, which reveals to you information in the immediate area. You're able to detect enemies through wallls, and see where they are going.
-Phase Shift:
This ability allows you to transeverse space for a very short amount of time. A potentially dangerous ability, which can result in phasing through walls or even into other people.
Pilot Weapons:
A list of these can be found here: Weapons
What is a Titan?
To put it plainly, Titans are large mech robots, with a variety of functions from military operations, to civilian labor, though the Titan is notably famous for providing heavy fire support on the field of battle, which can be the equivalent of a tank. Designed to be the extension of a pilot, rather than a remotely controlled combat mech, a Titan being controlled by a Pilot can quickly turn the tide of a single battle. Due to the amount of physical and mental stress taken on during the training of Pilots, fully certified and skilled pilots of Titans are an incredibly rare find on the battlefield. The Titan, Iike the pilot is equipped with a variety of weapons, and abilities. While a Pilot can control a Titan, the AI of a Titan is capable of operating on its own, and can communicate with the pilot to keep the pilot updated on what’s happening on the field of battle, as well as inform them of possible solutions to problems the pilot may face.
Titan Variants:
-Ion: A light hitting titan with moderate durability and moderate mobility.
Weapons: Splitter Rifle (shoots rapid energy shots)
Laser Shot (shoots a beam at a target)
Abilities: Vortex Shield (an energy shield you may summon for a short time which catches all projectiles fired at you. You are able to throw them back)
Ions may also deploy energy tripwire mines which explode when an enemy comes into vicinity.
Scorch: Aheavy hitting titan with supreme durability, but very slow mobility.
Weapons: T-203 Thermite Launcher (a grenade launcher essentially which ignite the ground in flame)
Firewall: You may conjure a wall of thermite.
Ability: Thermal Shield (Similar to the vortex shied, but instead of catching projectiles, it immediately melts them. This shield may do critical damage to any nearby enemies)
Incendiary Trap: Your titan releases a thermite-ignitable gas, which is easily combustable.
Northstar: A heavy hitting titan, with weak durability, and extreme mobility.
Weapons: Plasma Railgun (a titan sniper railgun)
Cluster Missiles: Fires missiles which explode on impact.
Ability: Tether Traps (a trap which is deplloyed, and may lock an enemy titan in place)
Northstars may also hover for a short duration.
Ronin: A moderate hitting Titan, with weak durability, and extreme mobility.
Weapons: Leadwall (A widespread projectile shotgun)
Arc Wave: Fires an electrical based projectile which slows and damages enemies.
Broadsword: This titan is equipped with a large blade, which can deal severe melee damage, but also provide limited block for incoming projectiles.
Phase Dase: This titan can do a quick directional phase shift.
Tone: A moderate hitting titan with moderate health and moderate mobility.
Weapons: 40MM Tracker Cannon (Fires semi auto explosive rounds)
Tracking Rockets: Fires a barage of missiles which track enemy titans, or other large targets.
Abilities: Particle Wall (A particle wall which blocks incoming fire, but may be fired through on the other side)
Tone Titans are equipped with a Sonar Lock which helps them lock onto other titans for their tracking rockets.
Legion: A heavy hitting titan, with superior durability, and very slow movement.
Weapons: Predator Cannon (A powerful minigun which can also fire a power shot which is similar to a shotgun blast)
Abilities: Gun shield (deploys a particle shield around the muzzle of the predator cannon which can catch enemy fire)
Monarch: A moderate hitting titan with moderate durability, and moderate mobility.
Weapons: XO-16 (a 20mm Automatic Rifle)
Rocket Salvo: Launches a swarm of unguided rockets.
Ability: Energy Siphon
You're able to drain the power from nearby enemy titans, or other mechanical units. This action helps regenerate your Titan's shields.

CHARACTER SHEET
Code:
[b]PILOT
Name:[/b] First and Last name.
[b]Age:
Gender:
Physical Description:[/b] Height, Weight, Skin color, eye color, hair color, other features, etc...
[b]Backstory:[/b] A little backstory to your pilot. Why did they join the Militia? Has the IMC affected them or their family?
[b]Personality:[/b] Has the Frontier War affected them? How do they behave? Are they disciplined? Experienced? Impulsive? Do they have fun in battle?
[b]Apparel:[/b]Any specific clothing your pilot wears?
[b]Pilot Abilities:[/b] Pilots are incredibly skilled tacticians with a variety of abilities that a typical grunt soldier will not have. Gameplay typically only allowed you to choose one ability, I'll go ahead and let you guys choose two. (This might be upped later on)
Abilities are as follows:
[b]Weapon:[/b]
If you wanna be brief, you may just say something along the lines of Shotgun, Assault Rifle, submachine gun, etc and I will assign you a specific weapon.
I'm also gonna go ahead and say no Smart Pistols as a main weapon. These are emergency weapons that are within every Titan. In other words... you already have one. Feel free to equip yourself with secondary weapons as well.
[b]Anti-Titan Weapon:[/b] A weapon designed in fighting Titans. They can be found in the link above. (Optional)
[b]TITAN[/b]
All Titans have built in energy shields, have the ability to discharge eectrified smoke which is used as a deterant to pilots that might jump onto your titan, a dome shield, which is deployed when the Titan is deployed from the atmosphere, and an optional ability to auto-eject the pilot, should the Titan believe it to be in immediate danger.
All titans follow these three protocols:
PROTOCOL 1: Link to Pilot
Piots and Titans share a very unique and distinct bond with one another. While the pilot may control the Titan, the Titan also aids the pilot in keeping track of situational changes in the battlefield, hazards, or potential solutions to problems that may arise.
PROTOCOL 2: Uphold the Mission
The mission of a Titan and the pilot is usually always of extreme importance. It is usually a matter of do or die.
PROTOCOL 3: Protect the Pilot
The only thing more important than the mission is the Pilot. Pilots are not easily replaced, and the Titan must do everything in its power to protect them.
[b]Titan Name:[/b] Titans are usually designated by two letters and four digits (XX-####), but have been given nicknames by their pilots.
[b]Titan Variant:[/b] Your Titan will be able to use other weapons further on.
[b]Description:[/b] A brief description of your titan, what it looks like, do you have a history with it, etc...
I think that about does it for now. If there are any questions, please let me know. I tried to make this as user-friendly as possible, especially to those who aren’t as familiar with the Titanfall universe. I am looking for a group of maybe 3-4 other players, who aren’t afraid to write out some details.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
