“In your sword still beats a heart.”
Time: Day 1 / Early evening / Late summer
Weather: Beginning thunderstorm in Vahlos, clear skies and hot and muggy in Takala

Since this RP topic will be for both the Vahlos and Takala/Nashoba territories, and any neutral lands in between, try to include the location in your post (examples: Nashoba camp, south Vahlos border, Lake Maesta, etc.). If you really don’t know what to put, and they’re just somewhere within the territory, then put “Vahlos territory”.

Signups and info are here! The RP is still open!

OOC topic is here.

And our discord is here:

Lazarus Rokan :: Nashoba Camp :: Tagging: x

A pair of glowing embers flashed in the darkness of the chieftain’s old cave, and slowly, the shadows began to morph and split into a monstrous creature that emerged from its ingress. It was as if they had birthed a demon, and as daylight revealed its form, Amara must have recoiled at the sight of having such a being walk across her fertile soil, for the Underworld would have suited him far better. Thick ropes of ivy dragged across flesh marred and ravaged by Mordhau himself, and as the darkness peeled away from his flesh, so did the illusion of beauty.

Lazarus drew in a breath of muggy late-summer air that was typical of the forest’s evenings, and his attention was immediately drawn to the skies, which were hardly visible thanks to the thick canopy of treetops that sheltered the camp. One could just barely glimpse storm clouds gathering in the peaks of the Vahlos mountain range. He wasn’t sure he’d ever get used to how sheltered the forest was, to not being able to count the stars when one tipped their head back. A kingdom, he thought, should not be hidden away from the world. Its existence should be bold, purposeful. It shouldn’t have to rely on nature to protect it, but on its knights.

But were those his words, or his father’s?

A wickedly-scarred lip curled ever-so-slightly in disgust.

There was one benefit to being hugged so tightly by brush, however, and that was that it granted easy solace. The emperor, peeved by the sound of voices in camp, now slipped away, dark figure swallowed by the mass of undergrowth.

Pythus Arezio :: Vahlos Falls :: tagging: x

A droplet of moisture landed on the fine hairs of Pythus’ muzzle, and a disappointed sigh escaped his lazily-parted jaws. The clouds had chased away the last of sunlight, and now the rain had started. It was probably time he headed back to camp from his journey sunbathing at the falls. Though he’d been tasked with marking the borders of the territory today, he knew that there were few days left of summer, and he intended to enjoy them as much as he could before winter’s icy talons seized the mountain range. As much as he despised his sister’s challenger, their almighty queen, he supposed that the one benefit to her rule was that the Takala forest would soon be theirs, and hopefully so would milder weather.

The lounging canine started by slowly stretching out each limb until he physically shuddered, and splayed each toe until his paws began to ache in protest. Only then, when the raindrops increased to three or four at a time, did he finally drag himself from his rock of choice and start towards camp. He placed a few hasty licks across his haunches to smooth his fur and then quickened his pace only out of concern for the rainstorm ruining his perfect hide.

Circe Dreios
Vahlos Camp // Tagging: X

The rocky outcropping which stretched outward from the Queen’s chambers served as an excellent vantage point for the birth of the storm. The she-wolf watched through half lidded eyes as the clouds blackened and churned, consuming the last daylight with a faint rumble. The burgeoning evening brought forth the downpour of rain, her ears twitched as the heavens roared with the clap of thunder. Yet, she remained unmoving-- a stark white outline cut into the dark horizon. She could sense her daughter stirring restlessly to her rear-- a quick glance cast over her shoulder was met with a pair of glittering, wide eyes.

“Do not be afraid.” Circe addressed Kari with a softness that had become all but foreign to her, her lips drawn into a reassuring but subtle smile. The gray dappled youth shook her head rapidly, her form shrunk against the granite, giving her an impossibly small appearance.

“Come. It cannot hurt you.”

Slowly but surely, she crept cautiously to the threshold of the den on her belly. The Queen watched in fondness as Kari investigated the rain suspiciously, recoiling sharply as it pricked her nose.

“Rain, Kari. You’ve seen it before-- though you were probably too young to recall.”

“I know what it is! I’m not that young.” Kari puffed indignantly, the fur on her hackles rising in protest.

As if on que, the sudden crash of lightning split the sky in two, and sent the spunky young canine scurrying clumsily between her mother’s legs. A low chuckle rolled from the depths of the monarch’s chest as she looked down the bridge of her nose at the tiny head which poked out from between her limbs.

“Not a word.” Kari mumbled feebly, meriting yet another mirthful laugh from her guardian.

“As you wish.” Circe replied simply, her expression settling as her attention returned to the clearing below. The mingling of her subjects was now partially masked by the thunderstorm, though she did not mind; The peaceful repose was more than welcome.

Akela Suake--Vahlos camp

As the rain poured down around the camp, one she-wolf hid underneath one of the cliff sides. The grey wolf wouldn’t dare get wet like the others. She laid on the cold rock as she watched others run for shelter. A huff escaped her lips and crossed her front paws over each other. A breeze blew through her little under hanging, sending a shiver down her bath. “Ugh I don’t like rain.” She growled to herself. It was one of her least favorite seasons. Well, to get wet in general was one of her least favorite things to do. The she-wolfs fur was too thick for water, always soaking it up and staying in her fur for days. If she didn’t cry off completely quick enough her skin and fur would start to mold and that was a no in her book. The rain stifled any smells of prey in the area so there was no point to head out in the first place. At least that’s how she saw it. Her gaze flicked over to the fresh kill pile to make sure there was enough for everyone before laying her head and lazily keep her eyes open. She kicked her long back legs out to the side to lay more comfortably with a big sigh and a twitch of her left ear. Relaxing was one of her favorite past times, and she did it a lot.
Akela was almost asleep when it started pouring harder and the wind started pushing the rain inside her little underhanging. With a snarl she hurled herself up, shaking loose droplets of water off her fur. She did not want to deal with the struggle of drying herself. She pressed herself against the back wall, grumbling about her nap being ruined.

Calef Nida—Edge of vahlos territory and Nashoba territory

The air was humid in the forest from the storm climbing over the mountains. The hot air being pushed down from the cold winds. Laying on a rock looking towards the mountains was a white she-wolf, the General of Nashoba. She loved to watch storms roll in, even loved to be in them. When thunderstorms reach the mountains it was her favorite time to watch. She had the perfect perch to sit on. Her green gaze was concentrated on the thunderheads towering over the cliffs. Her white body was laid lazily over the rock, her tail stretched out behind her. It was quiet where she was, no one to bother her or ask her questions, it was her solitude away from camp. Being the general was a lot of work, having to set up border patrols and hunting patrols every morning before she went off and tended to some things in the territory. Not many wolves bothered her unless needed, her fangs quick to launch themselves at anyone without a second thought. She didn’t talk much except setting up the patrols and giving her emperor short information tidbits if needed. With where she was sitting, she was pretty much watching the border of Vahlos. She knew that none would be crossing it, those wolves loved their mountains. The thought of it made her huff with a short laugh, her left ear flicking in amusement with herself. The sound of thunder could be heard rolling down the mountains, dragging her out of her haze and her eyes climbed up to watch the sparks fly in the clouds. Lighting was always fascinating to her, watching and knowing what destruction it could cause.

(forgive me if it’s short, I’m still sleepy from waking up.😂)

Nova Ramun :: Vahlos :: Tagging Comet Comet - Akela

Russet fur moved swiftly against gray rock with a graceful urgency. A nicked left ear flicked, hearing the soft sound of thunder in the distance, rapidly approaching. A dark nose was in the air for a few seconds before it was out of sight again. In her skinny maw, Nova Ramun held a measly little rabbit. It was all she'd been able to catch from the day's hunt. But it didn't matter much now because if she didn't get back to camp quick, she'd be soaked with the approaching rain. And though she wasn't quite a pup anymore, she still disliked the crack of lighting.

So quick, sure footed paws danced as fast as they could on the outcroppings and mountain parts. The rabbit dangled and swung from her muzzle but Nova was careful to not do too much damage. She hoped she could get back to camp before the rain began in true earnest. She'd have liked to hunt more, possibly bag a mountain goat to feed more wolves, but it seemed the goats were well hidden today.

It had taken Nova a great deal of energy and perseverance to even catch the little rabbit. She'd had to push herself a little too far and was now looking forward to a quick rest in camp while the soothing sounds of rain and distant thunder lulled her way into sleep. She pushed on. She arrived at the camp just in time to drop the rabbit on the fresh kill pile and run past Akela in her hideout from the rain. The she-wolf hated the rain because of her thick pelt, but Nova, with her short red fur, loved it. But the pup was tired and would rather sleep so she gave a quick nod and wolfish grin to Akela before darting into the den she shared with some other pack memebers.

"I caught a rabbit!" she announced, proud of herself. "Also! It's raining!"

Plopping down onto her nest of leaves and moss and soft fur pelts from other kills, Nova rested her head on her front paws and thudded her tail lightly on the ground behind her. A quick rest was in order.

Tanelia :: Vahlos camp :: Tags: open

Piercing sea-green turquoise-colored orbs opened as Tanelia awoke from her deep sleep. The young fae stretching as she shook out her thick ebony fur. The priestess slowly stood up and gave a gaping yawn before she padded out into the camp. Stunning eyes noting the bodies of the Vahlos awakening as the day started. Rain pattered against her dark-colored coat as the melanistic fae sat down and tilted her head upwards, allowing water to fall over her face gently. The white mark on her chest easily identified the fae as the priestess as her ears picked up the soft mutterings of the pack. So far, no one needed her yet and Tanelia was just fine with that honestly. The priestess opened her eyes to the rain before she sighed and stood up. She figured it was a good time to get ready to go gather herbs. She needed to restock anyways so why wait? Most seemed busy or distracted to Lia so slipping away would be less of a problem. Besides most knew Tanelia was either in her den or gone gathering herbs mostly. She wasn't a very common wolf to see in plain view. With those thoughts, Lia decided to quietly slip out of the camp, pawsteps light and quiet as she headed on her way.

Imani Abadi
Nashoba Camp // Tagging: Lazarus

The Priestess had stolen away into the forest at the break of day, threading through the thickly woven undergrowth with ease. Imani had learned to navigate the labyrinth of the trees as a babe, trotting along faithfully in Sabah’s wake. It was second nature to her now, though the journeys were lonesome in her absence. The elder would look over her shoulder now and then, checking to see if her granddaughter’s attention had been captured by the fluttering of startled butterflies, or perhaps a particularly strange looking mushroom. Her memory of her was fond; Silently the she-wolf scolded herself for becoming distracted. Do not dwell in the past, concern yourself only with what you can control, her mother would say.

The forest grew less dense a short distance from the camp itself, tree trunks spaced slightly further apart and adorned by moss. Rocks and boulders were strewn here and there, along with the occasional patch of regional flora. The air was oppressively humid, and the heat exhausting. Despite the weather, she remained away from the camp for a majority of the day, reveling in the stillness of the woods and the solitude it provided her. Yet, something, or rather-- someone stirred in the darkness. A feeling of unease crawled up her spine, an icy chill spreading through her veins like wildfire. Imani immediately picked up on the scent, skimming through the expansive archives of her mind. She recognized it. She recognized him. The familiar presence eased her nerves. Turning gracefully on her heels, her ethereal, pale eyes scanned the tree line relentlessly, eventually finding purchase of the great brute.

“My Liege.” The title was spun like fine silk from the tip of her tongue. Tilting her head as she regarded him, she hummed with the swish of her tail. “Going for a stroll?” The intensity of her gaze was then cast aside. “Of course, it’s none of my business. I don’t mean to impose.” Imani added respectfully. She was no fool.

Dreadful heat, mm?” Her attention was drawn briefly to the noisy scattering of a flock of birds, her eyes narrowing, before returning to the Emperor with an almost inaudible sigh. “Anyway, I don’t mean to keep you.”

Jax Nashoba Camp
CallMeLoki CallMeLoki sSilvana sSilvana

The damp morning air stirred life into the rusty red pelt curled in the back of a den a little earlier than usual. Jax lifted his heavy feeling head and peered around him with a single yellow eye. The other pack members were still fast asleep. He lifted himself heavily to his paws and carefully picked his away out of the den as to not disturb any of the others who shared this den. Once he stepped out into the fresh morning air, the sky barely breaking away from the black night sky, he took in a deep breath and proceeded to relieve himself away from the camp. Jax finally stretched his limbs out, his toes shaking as he bowed and pulled deep into stretch. Shaking off what felt like a fine mist of water clinging to his pelt, he trotted through the trees with his nose working through the different scents the forest offered. Plenty of birds had already pecked at ground, stealing away the morning bugs and grubs. He could pinpoint the trail of a rabbit from several hours ago, spying the bush leaves it had been nibbling at. He moved past, looking for something more recent.

The hyper sensitive nose started twitching and huffing in more frequently. After searching for about an hour, he picked up the trail of a small doe and her fawn. An easy meal if they were alone, and it seemed to be so as their scent trails talked alone. His tail swayed back and forth with excitement. The trail was easy to follow and he didnt have to go very far to find the pair among the trees. Jax crouched himself and edged forward. The mother was oblivious as she grazed on the plants while her fawn finished suckling on her teat. Jax waited, watching the mother slowly work her way unknowingly closer to where the wolf was waiting. The little fawn pranced around, bleating at its mother and checking out some of the plants she ate, nibbling at a few plants. Jax was watching the plump fawn with eagerness. A kill he could easily make and drag back to camp whereas the mother he would need help.

After what felt to be a decade of waiting, Jax was finally on his way back to the camp, carrying his kill with him. The fawn hung limply between his jaws legs dragging on the ground between Jax's working paws. As he neared camp, he ran into Imani and Lazarous. He stopped, blood splattered maw taking a shallow bow to the pack leader before dropping the fawn. He did not car for the cruel leader, but he still showed respect and obedience. What else could he do? "The mother is not that far off, but she will need two of us to take her down and bring her back as she was a bit larger than anticipated."

Salem Vahlos Camp
Talathel Talathel

Striking amber orbs peer out of the shared den, the thick dark clouds hanging in the morning sky indicated a lazy day for the pack. With how scarce prey already was, the critters were bound to be burrowed away as well. A deep sigh slowly expelled from her lungs as she forced herself out into the open air. She gave herself a proper stretch, ignoring the rolling thunder of Caelus's growl high in the sky. Her wide ears twitched in annoyance as she picked her away out of the camp for an early morning endurance run. The brown hued wolf blended in with the rocky mountains that the Vahlos called home, especially with the darkened sky. Her shadowed figure quickly padded along well worn paths leading up the mountain range.

Once she was a good distance from the camp where the trail became less worn and much steeper, her quick walk turned into a trot, quickly moving into a run as she clambered her way up steep rocky crevasses, using her momentum to get herself up the steep incline. Her strong legs had little issue pushing her frame to the top where she stood lightly panting. The chilled mountain wind buffeted her fur as she overlooked the camp and valley below. The Takala territory rested at the foot of their mountain. Well, the Nashoba territory now.

Salem stood there for a moment and began picking her way back down with a much easier path as raindrops began to fall. Her thick fur clung to her bulky frame, making her intimidating bulky size a little less threatening. She looked closer to a drowned sewer rat than a ferocious machine built for the kill. As the Inquisitor neared camp, she ran into the pack priestess, Tanelia. Normally the she-wolf had a very distinct scent that Salem could pick up on easily but with the rain, it was impossible to do any real tracking. "Out gathering herbs," she inquired, "would you like some help, Tanelia? Seeing as I am already soaked and out and about. " Instinctively, she tried to shake the water from her fur but it was quickly replaced.

Kaya Remira :: Nashoba Camp :: Tagging: CallMeLoki CallMeLoki sSilvana sSilvana Impius Impius

Another Nashoba member woke up. One of the dames, white Kaya. After crawling out of her cool and dark place, wolfshe shook herself from dirt and dust that she had unconsciously collected during the night (Remira was having quite big tendency to spin and turn sideways while sleeping).

When she was done, Kaya walked a little bit from a camp. She would to go for a quick breakfast at this time of the day, which was usually being a small rodent or a not careful bird. However warrior, didn’t feel like she wanted to start that *beautiful* day like this today. In general, she felt both dispiritedness and irritable at the same time. Remira couldn't say why, but she was just in a bad mood. She didn’t like anything today. Green grass, trees rustling around her, and bussy insects flying and looking for something among the bushes. Slightly growling from time to time she made a big circle around the camp, which calmed her down a bit.

As wolfshe entered the camp from the other side and saw a small gathering of Nashoba members. It consisted of their dark emperor Lazarus Rokan, one of the hunters (with whom she had the pleasure to hunt with before becoming a paladin) and the last one silver-black shewolf who was…erm.

Kaya turned her head slightly to the side watching with a hazel eyes a familiar-stranger. She associated female with appearance, perhaps Remira had exchanged a few words with her at one time, but couldn’t remember either her name or role. Anyway, dame didn’t try to not forget most of the names of others, and knowing how low her rank was, she treated everyone like they was above her. So if she wasn't going to interrupt them anyway, was it that important?

A hunter’s words broke Kaya out of her thoughts, who mentioned something about a mother and taking her off with the help of two wolves. ”Probably they are discussing about today's hunting” she thought quietly to herself. Anyway, whoever they were, whatever they were doing in their lifes or talked about, it wasn’t very elegant to just stand and stare at them. With a light step and a mock smile she came closer to three wolves and in the most cheerful and pleasant voice she said "Good morning!". Remira knew that kind of greetings with such energy caused that no one had anything against her. Even when wolfshe felt like she wanted to rip someone off because of her sulk.

Lazarus Rokan :: Nashoba Camp :: Tagging Imani ( CallMeLoki CallMeLoki ), Jax ( Impius Impius ), Kaya ( T Takka )

Even here, in this labyrinth of forest, solitude was as elusive as the mosquitos that would dance along his ear only to completely vanish when his teeth met the air. When the Takala’s former priestess arrived, his ears twitched in annoyance not only due to the pesky insects but also due to the unwanted company. Lazarus had never been close with any of his subjects, not even the Nashoba’s most trusted. He didn’t care for social calls with them, let alone the Takala, since they were virtually strangers to him. But he was now their emperor, and he had to at least keep up appearances. He could’ve sent her away, but Lazarus allowed her into his rare company in the hopes that he could eventually earn her and the rest of the Takala’s loyalty.

“A stroll…” Thick, gravelly baritones rolled from his maw like the thunder that brewed in the mountain peaks of the foreboding horizon. He often repeated phrases others uttered to him, as if tasting the syllables on his tongue, pondering their intricacies and slowly dissolving the meaning of the words. “I suppose you could call it that. And, I suppose, if it is merely a stroll, then you are not keeping me from anything.” Soot-hued ears pivoted and he shifted to face her, granting her more of his attention. A scarred maw parted once more to ask what was on her mind when another scent tickled his nose, and his lips froze to identify it.

It was difficult to grow accustomed to most of the scents of the Takala, though there was a quality to Jax’s that reminded Lazarus faintly of the fire, like smoke rising from a burning log. However, it was not as sweet as the alder of his homeland. A phantom of pain crawled along his side at the memory, but he ignored it and fixated on the other Takala. Optics slid briefly downwards to the fawn that was dropped at his feet, but returned to Jax almost immediately in disinterest.

“Your emperor and shaman have more important matters to tend to,” he rumbled, and cast Imani a sideways glance. He had only moments before admitted to not being occupied with anything. But he did not wish to waste his time doing the work of others. “Tell me, are the other hunters not able?”

Bright, cheery tones contrasted his like the soft down of a bird against an alligator’s scales, and a twinge of annoyance shot through the emperor. What was the point in leaving camp if camp followed him? At least the she-wolf who announced herself was a familiar face from his kingdom, though he was too focused on awaiting Jax’s answer that he offered up no pleasantries, only a half-dismissive flick of his ears to acknowledge her presence.

Drake Terund :: Takala’s camp and forest :: tagging: hope there will be soon someone to tag ;}

Along with the sun woke up one of the Takala’s wolves members; their councilor Drake. It looked like the new day was going to be great for him, and because of this he doesn't intend to waste any minute of it. He quickly emerged from his cool, dry place outside. Then immediately got up and with the excitation looked around. He hoped that someone had also decided to wake up that early in the morning. But the square was completely empty. Only the chirping birds was breaking the tomb's silence. It looked like he was the first to wake up.

Just like every morning the air was fresh and the grass smelled of dew, but there was no doubt that it would be hot today. Already, wolf felt the warm rays of the sun on his body. They pierced a dense bushes, a branches and canopy of the trees.

Since no one was around anyway, Terund decided that it nothing will happen if he will go for a walk through the woods. Light jogging, he went to the east. The deeper he went into the forest, the more it got warmer and colorful. The view of nature being awakening to life by Amara, was making him full of joy. The goddess evidently breathed life into him as well, and before Drake knew he started racing ahead. The dry air through which he was running suddenly became cooler due to council’s speed. He jumped over every small stream and stone on his way, hoping that this will never end. But finally fatigue caught up with him, and male stopped on a hill. Drake was gasping for a long moment before he was able to catch his breath. Finally, he looked up. The view was wonderful. The sun was already quite high on the clear sky and the heat spread over the entire surrounding area. Green and blue mountains was as usual on their places, strewn with so confusingly small trees resembling forest clearings. In the distance, he was even able to see his home.

Feeling that he was really living as he always wanted, male happily howled in his high-pitched voice. It echoed among the rocks and trees. Perhaps Takalans was able to hear him. Who knows?

Nashoba Camp // Tagging: Lazarus / Jax / Kaya

The Shaman looked on in curiosity as not one but two wolves emerged from the tree line to join their company. She searched the Emperor’s eyes, for what exactly she was unsure. A reaction, perhaps. However, she found that his countenance was neutral and resolute. Turning to the newcomers, she observed the exchange in deafening silence as the waning light of day flickered and curled across unsettlingly pale irises. The first she recognized as Jax, though the identity of the she-wolf who arrived after him was unknown to her. Calmly, she surveyed them, her tail swishing every now and then behind her.

“Good evening.” The cordial return was accompanied by a subtle smile which tugged at her lips, her head bowed slightly in acknowledgment of them both.

Imani’s expression twisted in confusion as Jax suggested a hunt; The slopes of her shoulders sank in mild disappointment. She had the ability to hunt game-- that was not the issue. The hour grew late, and that aside, it was not her place to hunt. Even if she had been able to provide him with assistance, she had exerted much of her energy during the day's escapades. Fully expecting to be left to her own devices, she raised her gaze and met the Emperor’s eye in newfound fascination as he dismissed the proposition altogether. The she-wolf blinked at the limp fawn strewn at Jax’s paws, wordlessly lamenting the loss of its life. She supposed that if the doe had been killed, the fate of the young deer would have been far worse.

"The invitation is appreciated-- another time, perhaps..." Imani hummed, "Your fellow Hunters may be more suitable for the task." She offered, casting a glance over her shoulder in the direction of camp.

The wolf's black nose twitched in annoyance. How careless of him to forget that his new Emperor was the battle torn Lazarous. Zaros would have reacted differently. I can't keep comparing water to fire. Besides, he had left the counseling seat long ago, interactions with the leader weren't exactly required in this way. Some old habits died hard. Jax bowed his head and glanced up at the massive ebony clad male in front of him. "I apologize for wasting your time with the mundane task of feeding the pack," Jax stood from his seated position, his single eye slightly narrowed. If any words begged to fly off his tongue, they dared not to move from the confines of his thoughts after his one comment.

His gaze drifted over to Inami. He gave her a polite head bow. So much for trying to make small talk. Another body had joined the trio. Jax turned his head to find Remira had joined them. He would ask her to join him, but the former hunter no longer was tasked to feed the pack. He gave her a polite nod and a returned good morning, however he want in much of a mood to be around Lazarus much longer. He did enjoy the she wolf's company though, he cared never to admit it.

His mouth wrapped around the cooling body of the fawn an continued into camp with his kill. He carefully placed the body next to the rest of the smaller game animals others had brought in. Are the others not able? Jax vocally scoffed to himself. His irritation flared for a moment, his pulse beating into his head like a hammer. With sagging shoulders and a dropped tail, he didnt see the point in getting work up over semantics with Lazarous. Wasted energy to be mad about something he had no power to change. Perhaps it was good for the pack that he took over. With Circe as a threat and all.

He chose a shaded spot in the camp and ate a small rabbit for his breakfast. After he licked his lips clean, he rested back and looked around. If anyone wished to find him, he could easily be found.

Tanelia :: Vahlos :: Mentions - Salem Impius Impius

The rain soothed the priestess as she trotted along the steep, winding trails. Her pawsteps sure and confident as she made her way across the terrain. Her ebony coat glistened softly with raindrops, her piercing sea-colored orbs staring out of her elegantly formed face. As she moved, the memories of her past echoed faintly in her mind. The words which left scars and the betrayal she felt which she hid behind a shield of ice and cool feelings. Her ears pricked as she fought to bring herself back to the present as a voice wove through her mind. The ebony fae whipping around as her ears flicked back, an almost instinctual reaction that was honed from years of being forgotten by family. Icy sapphire turquoise orbs met the orbs of the approaching figure of Salem, her ears flicking up carefully as the other fae spoke. Her body relaxing as she realized this was a pack member and not her family.

"Salem." The fae greeted delicately, gently shying back as Salem approached her and shook to rid herself of the raindrops on her fur. "I was indeed going out to gather herbs, and if you would be willing to accompany me I definitely won't object to company." Tanelia spoke, her voice soft and seemingly exotic. The ebony fae was one who didn't talk often, but when she did you would realize why her name fit her so well. Her voice was soft and light (though ask anyone who has been treated by her they will tell you she has a sharp tongue to go alongside her soft one) and if one had to describe it to a T...one would say it could even sound like the tinkling of gemstone rocks chiming against the ground as they fell. Her ears were forward and curious as she tilted her head delicately "I need cobwebs, horsetail, and even a bit of moss too" her tone was all seriousness despite the delicate quality to her tone.

Tanelia usually wasn't one to accept help in her duties as she took her full-on priestess duties with a full seriousness sometimes unseen. Her soft smell of Madagascar vanilla mixed with hibiscus and jasmine flowers wove through the air gently as she turned around to continue her route through the trees. Her paws surefooted as she leaped and bounded up the trail towards where she knew the best herbs could be found. Lia paused as she came to a break in the trees, her head tilted upwards as the rain fell down upon her. The droplets running down the elegant angular face, running like tears as the priestess waited for Salem to accompany her.

Calef- Edge of Vahlos and Nashoba territory- Open

The general had enough with watching the storm roll over the mountains. It was a beautiful sight but she had duties she needed to take care of. With a sigh that came from deep in her chest, she heaved her white pelt up and started descending down the rock that she was sitting on. The she-wolf slowly and quietly made her way into the tree-line of the forest, her steps silent as a mouse. She had duties she needed to do but she was in no rush. She wasn't really in the mood to give one of the younger wolves a new scar to take care of. As she made her way through a faint smell hit her nostrils that made her pause, the hair on her hackles stood on end. A low growl started to rumble in her throat as the smell was recent but not close. It went further into the territory, looking for more food. She followed the smell quietly, staying close to the path but made sure her scent didn't travel to the dangerous creature. The she-wolf came across a part where the smell was at it strongest. I dead carcass. The beast took down a deer. she growled again as she sniffed over what was left of carcass and one thought came to mind. Mountain lion. by the smell of it, the big cat has already moved on but it was still in the area. She wanted to go tell her emperor but there was no time. She charged after it, seeing the pelt of it in the distant trees. a snarl escaped her jowls as she launched herself over a log and onto the big cat, the cat's scream echoing through the forest. The two rolled together in balls of fur, tufts of fur and blood flying everywhere. This lion was a threat to her pack and she was here to end it.

The grey she-wolves eyes followed one of the other hunters as she came in from the pouring rain with a rabbit. She huffed, now knowing that she would get some backlash for not doing the same. The female looked out at the rain with a forlorn look. She hated getting wet. It was just always so hard for her to get dry again. her eyes darted back to the other hunters in their dens nice and warm with some food that they helped catch. She sighed. "Okay... I guess it's my turn." She muttered to herself before dragging herself up and out into the rain. Her ears pinned back against her head as she raced down the mountain cliff to the closest shelter before the rain pierced the thicker part of her coat. she stopped in another cliff hanging to shake off what water that was on her and with a growl she muttered to herself again, "These mountain tops are too much for me. Raining all the time." She looked down at her next path, surveying how she would get down. with the rain it made the rock sides slicker, and the mud was hard to get a grip on so she would have to be careful or she would tumble down. Once she decided she found a good way down, she started to make her way out of the cliff side. The mud and rock-sides were slipper than she thought, her feet already starting to slide underneath her. She whined as she desperately dug her nails into the mud but to no avail she slid. She hoped she didn't slip over the mountain side and just down. one nail caught on a jutted rock, stopping her sliding but her body swung over the edge, her back legs dangling over. This was not good.

Kaya decided to leave too. It seemed that now the attention of the other two wolves would be focused on her. She, on the other hand, didn’t want to waste her energy on a disgruntled leader. White wolfshe nodded politely at them and slowly walked away. It looked like most of the pack wasn’t awake yet and for now she has free-time. Remira returned to her place and lay down out side bored. She closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep. Dame hoped that by this the waiting for something to do will be faster.

Suddenly she heard something. It was at first quiet, but few seconds later came closer to her. It sounded like a flying insect. She ignored it, hoping that soon it will go away. But little creature instead of going back on it’s way, decided to keep flying in circles over the wolfshe. However, after the irritant sound stopped. Paladin opened her right eye to make sure it gone. To her surprise, it didn’t happen. She saw a little fly, sitting in front of her on a ground. Totally ignoring light wolf, it was washing its hideous body with a black small legs. Without care, leaky insect started from a big head, then cleaned the glass wings, ending on its back. Then fly rose into the air again, only to fly around Kaya’s head. This time wolfshe was watching intruder, getting more and more upset. Annoying parasite, felt more confident and sat on her dark nose. Then began to walk on a black muzzle’s dart just like on the path. That was deffinitly enough.

The wolf’s face furrowed in anger. Her all muscles tightened. She jumped. Her gray jaw opened with a loud snarl. Fly felling that this is probably the right time immediately disappeared. For a moment grumpy female was satisfied. Yes, let no one think that they can do what they want with her.
But with victory, another problem arrived. The hunger twisted her. Actually, she had eaten nothing today. Though Remira cooled from her childish morning grimaces, she winced at the thought of hunting. It wasn’t like dame was lazy and and didn’t feel like doing it. Rather, Kaya meant that she would probably be able to track down and catch some small insipid mouse in such a short time. It should be remembered that she could not stay too long from the camp, sharply when emperor got up. “But maybe if….” she thought. Her ears got up hopefully. There was way to got more chance for better meal. Wolfshe quickly went to the place where Jax headed.
Ginger male was resting in the shade. He looked pleased. That was good... Paladin came closer a bit uncertainly, though. She wasn't sure how to start talk to convince him.
- Do you have a second?- She started. Female shook her head nervously, while looking for the next appropriate words. - So today there won't be hunting, will it?- She asked.

Salem Vahlos Territory
Talathel Talathel

Salem did not expect the healer to accept the Inquistors help, seemingly without hesitation. "I did not mean to startle you, dear." A friendly smile flashed between furry frosted cream lips as her own gentle voice weaved through the air. Although others seemed to think herb gathering as a mundane task, Salem silently enjoyed it I na rare occasion. There was an inner peace she found at picking at plants and learning. However, a Priestestss full responsibilities were not to her taste.

The black she wolf was definately a spectacle. The melanistic creatures voice seemed to always send warm shivers down her spine. Warm, friendly, mystical, with a hint of winter's icy wind, is how Salem would describe if she had to. She looked up at Tanelia after she bound up the hill, her floral scent still faintly hanging in the air despite the rain. Salem couldnt argue she was in good company. She quickly picked her own way up to join the fae.

Her own scent practically disappeared with the weather. Her earthy scent nearly blending in with the mountains they lived in. "Cobwebs, horsetail, and moss, she repeated to herself to help memorize it. Moss and cobwebs would be easy, but she was a little embarrassed to not know where any horsetail would be. She didn't need to voice her lack of knowledge since Tanelia would know and was leading the way. "It has been a while since we have really spoken. How have you been doing?" The Inquistors question was sincere. There was a depth of care and concern in her voice, hiding under the typical small talk starter question.

Tanelia :: Vahlos :: Mentions - Salem Impius Impius , Akela Comet Comet

Tanelia did indeed know where she needed to go, instinct and habit guiding her paws through the pathways as the rain soothed her unease. While most wolves disliked the wet weather, she coveted it. The soft patterning of water on the trees, plants, and earth allowed her some calm in the tumultuous memories that often plagued her mind. Lia's paws led her towards her favorite spot to gather cobwebs, moss, and horsetail. Her mind already imaging how much they needed and what to grab (not that she enjoyed the taste of horsetail in her mouth mind you). As Salem apologized for startling her the fae huffed a delicate laugh. "Salem, it doesn't take much to startle me." The melanistic fae pointed out gently, her exotic voice almost echoing in the quiet. A flash of pure shock registered in the stunning sea-colored orbs as the inquisitor asked her how she had been doing, and the fae paused...debating on what to say for a minute before she spoke. "I have been...alright. How about yourself?" Pure politeness habits are what caused the fae to ask and also try to change the topic off of herself.

Her paw sled the duo from the steep climb towards the secret place she knew most of her herbs could be found. Moss decorated surrounding trees which glittered with raindrops, seeming to gleam with otherworldly elegance as she smiled faintly. Cobwebs glittered from around tree roots, raindrops glittering gemstones among the silky web strands. Horsetail plants in a small clump around the shadows of the slightly open space seemed to move faintly in a slight breeze as the fae stepped to the side to show the small place (and secretly her getaway from life itself) to Salem.
"This is where I often come for herbs... especially moss and cobwebs." Tanelia murmured fondly as she padded towards the horsetail clump, lowering her jaws to bite through some stalks of the bushy fern plant and began piling a few next to her.

While focused on her task, her ears faintly picked up a yelp not too far from where her space was. And immediately the fae was on her paws, taking off through the mountainous terrain. She would know that yelp anywhere. She knew her packmates anywhere. It was Akela. And it sounded like the other fae was in trouble. The ebony fae skidded to a stop as she took in the scene before her. Akela's body was over the edge of a cliff. Her hind paws dangling in the air and quick as a viper striking, the priestess jumped into action. Her body lunging forward to try and catch Akela.
"Akela. Hold still." The order was quick, short, and commanding. Gone was the soft-spoken and withdrawn fae - in her place was a priestess; commanding, stern, and all business.
