Futuristic Those That are Hunted

(*shrugs* I don't care. All of my characters would work with a time skip)

(I may run away for those three days because of the full moon that's calling to my wild side and what not. But what about Ky and Tor?)

(I believe so. Just for the time being. I mean, Piper seems to be the only free gifted at the moment, but if she were to get captured then she could be put in the cell with Toron. *shrugs* Then again, I'm pretty sure that Piper prefers her freedom. Plus, she could help the agents again if they're ever sent out into the open world again.)

(Okai!)

It had been a couple days since she'd met her new cellmate. She hadn't spoken a word to him and had barely eaten or drank. She'd only left the cell once for a tiny amount if food or water. The rest of the time, she stayed silent just sitting in the room and staring at the walls. She hasn't seen her dragon, brother, or dog and she knew she had no chance of seeing them for a while whilst she was in this mood. Again she just sat there staring blankly hoping something would change sometime soon.

Toron had eaten the minute he came out of that cell. He looked for Kytha but couldn't find her anywhere. After a couple hours he gave up and went back to the cell playing with the dog. He had followed routine but still hadn't seen her so he broke away from the group to go look for her after a period of searching he spotted her in her cell. Toron just looked at her. It looked like she was dead. Her eyes were dull and she didn't move but she was breathing.

Tucker sighed for the ten millionth time since this new girl had joined him. Originally, Tucker thought that she'd be fun and probably rebellious since she'd arrived tranquilized. Yet, he could tell that something terrible had happened to her. She was broken inside and it wasn't the first time Tucker had seen someone this way. Except he hadn't been able to help the last one.

Deciding that his failed tactics at being his usual flirty and cocky self were never going to work, Tucker glanced over at the girl and wondered if she'd ever talk. On the bright side, Tucker was great at talking. Kneeling beside the girl, Tucker said with a soft smile, "You know, it's not much fun for me to be talking to myself all the time..."

Vulcan looked up in the sky. The sun was slowly setting over the mountain peaks in the very distance. It was so pretty and at the same time so ugly. They weren't that much different from the prisoners - caged in this fenced dome, away from civilization, separated from normal human environment. He sighed deeply to calm down again and headed for the living area. When he got inside the building he stopped for a moment in front of the door to Amelie's room but then frowned a bit and quickly went past it, getting into his own and Xander's room. He looked up only to see his roommate asleep. He needed it. What a stressful day it had been. Vulcan lay down in his bed, not even taking his suit off. After a few minutes he had slept in. He was just as exhausted from so much fighting, arguing, injuries, even though they were healed.

However, a few hours later he woke up again, his wolfish eyes glowing brightly in the night, reflecting the light coming through the window. He lay in his bed for a minute, then stood up and walked over to the window, staring out. Full moon... It illuminated the night sky, no stars could be seen. Almost in a trance, he opened the window and climbed out only to leap to the ground. From the third floor. A normal human being would have broken multiple bones in his body but not a Therian. He walked over to the exit to the outside world and after some scanning procedures he was out. He removed the device translating his voice and stuck it into his pocket, then shifted and ran into the forest. He hadn't felt earth under his paws for too long, the grass, the wet leaves, the small branches cracking under his feet, the occasional mushrooms or berries, the fresh forest air. He ran fast, his tongue sticking out, the wind blowing through his fur. He loved this. This freedom. Even if he knew it probably wouldn't last long. He soon reached a clearing with a large moss covered rock showing out of the ground. He climbed it with just a few small leaps and stared at the full moon for a moment before bringing his head up and letting out a long loud howl, filled with love for the moon and sadness as his calls could never reach it. He stood there for a while, howling, letting his wild nature take over his human mind. When he got tired from howling, his throat dry and hurting, he just lay down and stared at it.

When morning came, he continued his trek up in the mountain. The trees were getting sparse, replaced by low bushes and small pines. The forest ground was replaced by rocks, gravel and dry yellow grass, the occasional flowers. The sun was shining brighter and hotter that lower in the valley. It was also getting a bit harder to breath as the higher he went, the more the air was getting thinner. The combination of all this was causing him to go at a slow trot, then walk. Along the way he had managed to catch and kill an old mountain goat, eating it whole and leaving only the large curled horns behind.

He would stop occasionally and just stare out in the distance, taking in the magnificent view. It was so beautiful. He didn't want to return to the camp anymore. He felt like he wanted to just run away and never return, never be found again, spend the rest of his life here. He was so delusional.

But he had to go back before they started looking for him. The more he stood there, the more his right mind was coming back to him. What the heck was he doing out there? He quickly started climbing down the mountain. Suddenly something small and white caught his eye. He stopped to look at it. It was a small Edelweiss flower, sitting on some rocks. He shifted and picked the flower, tucking it away in his pocket with the head sticking out so it wouldn't get damaged. Then he shifted again and once he was back in the forest ran for the camp, following his tracks. He had to run all afternoon and night long, so as expected he was back just after breakfast. He shifted and brushed the dust off of his clothes, then carefully took the flower out of his pocket and started looking around the square. Where was his beloved Amelie? He needed to apologize, if nothing else - for yelling at her and for disappearing like that. And he wanted to give her the flower. Edelweiss - the flower of winter and snow, of purity and daring, of beauty and love and at the same time of danger as it grew so high in the mountain peaks. It was everything that symbolized her.

Kytha sighed turning her head a little bit. "Listen it's nothing personal... It's just.. Ah never mind.." She mumbled sadly. She began remembering everything. The times alone, the time with Vulcan, the time of becoming a rebel, but most of all, she remembered Hayden. His fiery attitude, his undying determination, his sweet smile, and the time that she actually got to rest beside him and he let her.

Tucker kept his easy smile as he proceeded to sit down beside the girl, one of his knees bent with an elbow resting against it and himself leaning back on his other hand. Cocking his head at the girl, Tucker said, "Hey now, I'm not asking for your life story. Let's keep it simple." Slightly raising an eyebrow at the girl, Tucker said, "My name's Tucker. And you are...?"

As the sun was going down, Amelie got up from her seat and walked out. "I'm going for the night." She said to the secretory. Before long she was back in the living quarters. Opening the door, the room was dark and cold. She sighed at the disappointing sight. Somewhere in the back of her mind she kind of hoped Vulcan would be there waiting for her. She took a nice cold shower before going to sleep.

Amelie woke with a start. Her breathing was hard and her hair stuck to the frame of her sweaty face. Her hand searched around for someone to hold onto but all it felt was the cold of her ice. Running her hand through her hair she looked around at the damage her ice had done. The lamp on her night stand was shattered and the ice had crawled up the window. She had that dream again, where no matter what she did she was helpless in protecting him. Alec, I hope you are alright. Don't do anything stupid while I am gone. As much as she loved Germany, while she was so far away form her brother she always had dreams about him being killed, sometimes by her hand, and tonight it was by her hand. The past 24 hours have been very stressful so she decided to make a risky call. The phone rang a few times before he picked up. "Is everything ok Ams?" There was a pause before she answered. "I'm fine I just wanted to hear your voice." Her voice was low. She heard him sigh. "You do know how risky this phone call is right?" There was only silence. "If you want I can read to you like when we were young." Amelie didn't say anything but she knew she didn't have to. Thee was some rustling around till Alec started talking again. "Dad's diary, haven't read from this in a while." When he started reading it didn't take long for her to fall back asleep.

The next day went by like a blur. All it consisted of was her barking out orders and making sure things ran smoothly. The day after that she signed a form saying Kytha could go back to her normal cell with Toron. When she put the pen down she sighed. Amelie hadn't seen Vulcan at all. She wasn't as mad at him anymore for yelling at her. It was more because he avoided her.

Xander woke with a gasp, sitting up right and accidentally breathing out some flames...that singed one of the bedposts to his bed. Quickly dismissing the flames, Xander let out a groan at having to get out of his bed, but knew he'd rested long enough. Slowly climbing down from his bed, Xander got to the ground and then promptly stretched and let out a low yawn. Blinking, Xander went straight to the bathroom and looked at himself to see that he looked wearier than usual. Sighing, Xander washed his face and then went through his usual morning routine before he made his way to breakfast. Upon arriving, Xander was disappointed to find that he didn't recognize anyone other than Toron, whom Xander only saw for a few seconds.

Eating alone, Xander soon finished and began to make his way back to the dorms when he realized with a start that Vulcan hadn't been in the room when he'd woken up. Had the agents been called on some mission while Xander had been resting? Frowning at this idea, Xander made his way outside and then came to an abrupt halt when he saw Vulcan standing in the middle of the square. Xander raised an eyebrow when he took notice of the flower in Vulcan's hand. What was the guy up to? Not at all wavered by the idea of direct confrontation, Xander walked straight towards Vulcan and then smiled warmly at him before saying, "Hey, mornin', roomie. What all did I miss when I went to rest?"

Kytha looked up at the male sighing. "Kytha. Nice to meet you. Listen, I'm sorry I haven't been talking. It's just that everything right now is going to complete crap. For right now it seems I've lost my rebellious side. Heh... Sorry... I rambling again."

Tucker grinned at Kytha and replied, "The pleasure is all mine. You know, as much as I love talking about myself, I'm a great listener as well. I can imagine you don't want to talk about all the bad sh*t going down...so why not tell me some of the good times you've had?" Pausing for a moment, Tucker added, "How about a story for a story? Every time you share a story, I'll share one of my own." Tucker then smiled after saying this, already liking the idea.

(Also, Tucker is sitting beside Kytha, so she wouldn't have to look up at him)

(Oh, and Cherry, do you want me to continue to add posts about Piper's interaction with the boy since Alec can't see what she's doing right now?)

Kytha grinned a bit. "There aren't many good times. But I will think of one." She said looking around the room for a minute before thinking of one. "Ever heard of Hayden Pierce? Well he became a rebel and left the agency and joined me. He may seem like a tough guy with no feelings but he has some. So me and the group had just escaped some agents and gotten to a camp and we discussed a plan on how to escape if need be. Somewhere in the middle of the chat he managed to slip away to the cliff nearby and I was on patrol that night so I went to look for him. I of course found him and saw his hand glow and I asked him what he did. He just said a personal thing and I quickly dismissed it. I laid down next to him and placed my head on his chest. I think that's the first time I ever realized what he meant to me and now he's been taken who-knows-where and is having who-knows-what happening to him and its all my fault because I gave up." She said and her smile disappeared at remembering his face and missing it and him. "I miss him.."

"Do you know where I can find Amelie? Have you seen her?" he asked when Xander approached him, still looking around like a pup that had lost its owner. There were so many people leaving the dorms and canteen that he couldn't find her smell. "The offices perhaps..." he murmured and headed for the bureau building. On the way there he hid the flower back in his pocket, walked over to the reception and asked the woman sitting behind the counter to arrange a meeting with agent Glass. After running a quick identity scan she nodded and picked up the phone, dialing Amelie's office phone number. "Agent Glass, you have a visitor."

Hearing the phone rang she answered. ~I don't remember having an appointment right now.~ Not that she had anything to do anyway. "Send them in."

Tucker's grin widened slightly at Kytha's grin, it was a pleasant surprise to see her grinning as well. In fact, he'd never seen her express anything other than depression or complete void of expression. Hearing her talk about this Hayden, Tucker could instantly tell that she had feelings for him, though it seemed like he didn't have the best of luck. If he'd been captured and taken somewhere that nobody knew where he was...well, he'd probably be wishing he was dead at this point. Shaking off these thoughts, Tucker grinned again and attempted to lighten the mood again, "Well, you shared a story, so now it's my turn. While this uniform completely restricts my movement, I can move at high speeds, like the fastest I've ever run was around 600 miles per hour. It's out of this world when you run that fast. Right, but for my story, I was fighting another gifted who could manipulate metal. It was insane. But, they had made full body armor of titanium and I couldn't get any damage through to them. So, I sprinted away, half a city away in fact, and then I stopped. I turned around and just...sprinted towards them. When I felt I couldn't run any faster, I dove towards them and punched him in the chest. I literally punched the metal off of him." Chuckling at the memory, Tucker hoped that he'd at least distracted Kytha from the fact that she'd lost a friend. God knows Tucker had lost his fair share over the past couple years.

Xander shrugged at Vulcan, he'd had no idea where his own roommate was a few minutes ago. How would he know where Amelie was? Seeing Vulcan wandering off again, Xander decided to tag along since he was wondering if Amelie was in a better mood now. She'd annoyed him the other day, though if he hadn't been so exhausted then he wouldn't have let it bother him as much as he had at the time. Xander was also curious as to the status of Kytha and her little dragon.

Kytha smirked again. "Hey, um, thanks for getting me out of that state. I've never been like that before but someone I used to consider family helped someone with barely any emotion strip everything away from me. They took my dragon, my dog, my home, and my brother is here somewhere but I have no idea.."

Tucker nodded at this and then said, "I know the feeling. Actually, I bet if you asked any other gifted prisoner in here, they'd probably be able to share something that was similar to your story. We've all got dark pasts and secrets to hide." Tucker grinned and then added, "No problem, by the way. I love to help a damsel in distress." Tucker then winked after saying this, not even thinking twice about the fact that he'd just attempted to flirt with Kytha.

Kytha stuck her tongue out playfully after he said that. "Nerd." Playfully she said to him. "Some one likes history and fantasy." She giggled and leaned o him giving him a little hug. "Seriously, thank you. I needed that push."

Tucker rolled his eyes at Kytha's nerd comment, but grinned at her. Scoffing at the history and fantasy comment, Tucker said, "Well, I do like dragons, though I doubt I'll ever meet one since they don't exist." Getting the hug from Kytha, Tucker smirked and said, "A hug from the damsel, man am I a lucky man." Hearing Kytha's thank you, Tucker grinned and said, "Hey, you're the first person I've talked to in months. I'm glad to help in whatever way possible."

The secretary told them that they were expected and Amelie's office number. "Thanks for tagging along." he told Xander as they were in the elevator that would take them to the floor they were supposed to go to. He truly was a bit nervous about confronting Amelie after he had yelled at her and then run away like that. As they were walking down the hallway he got a silly idea and quickly grabbed a sheet of paper of one of the printers along the way. When they reached her office he nodded and just slightly opened the door, sticking the white sheet of paper through and shaking it slightly, trying to imitate a white flag of defeat. He was also checking in what mood his beloved was. If she fired an ice shard at the paper they would probably have to run like the wind.

Hearing her door crack open she looked up from the paperwork. Seeing the white flag she had an idea of who it was and her pen snapped on half. "So you finally showed up. What do you want." Her voice was cold and the room easily dropped ten degrees. She grabbed another pen from the cup on her desk and started scribing notes down. Anything to get the idea of shooting a shard through the door.
