Things that lurk in the dark.

Ally rolled her eyes at all the attention he was getting and how he seemed to be enjoying it. Why was everyone falling all over themself for him? Sure he was decent looking and new to all of them, but was he really that great? It annoyed her how in a matter of minutes he already had a fan club swooning over him, and following him through that hall like a pack of lost puppies. If this was going to be an everyday occurrence she wasn't so sure she would be able to take it. She crossed her arms over her chest trying to ignore them as she walked into the classroom going over to her desk to sit.

Akio went to a empty desk next to you and sat down, usually no one wanted to be near you to risk bullying themselves but this time it worked in your favor. When asked to introduce himself he didnt even stand. "My name is akio i dont have a last name as i dont have a family so sorry about that teach." He said though he seemed to think for a moment. "Though akio morita has has a nice ring so put that down." The teacher looked flabbergasted for a moment while many people in the room chuckled.

Ally hardly payed any attention to Akio when he took a seat at the desk beside hers. She was glad to see most of his fan club leaving, going off to their own classes. The only one's left now where the ones that had class with them. She let out a small sigh when he spoke to the teacher. If anyone else had spoken to him like that they would have been sent out of the room in an instant. He was still working the crowed with everything he did. She had known having him at school with her would be strange but she had never expected this.

Other then his beginning interruption the class went on as normal and was soon over most of the nest classes went on in similar fashions till it was time for lunch at 6th. A girl from 5th asked if he wanted to sit at their table but he denied, saying he was sitting with someone already. Many a eye went wide when he got his lunch and went over to the table you sat at every day.

Ally went about the day the way she normally did, the only difference was no one bothered her and Akio was following her around. By time lunch came around she had almost gotten used to having him around her constantly. Walking into the lunch room, she went straight to the table she sat at everyday, while Akio went to got get lunch. Normally the table remained empty except for her, but today it was quite full as a group of girls sat down around around the mysterious new boy. Ally was all but shoved from the table when the girls squeezed themselves in between Ally and him. They giggled annoyingly and asked him questions like where he was from and what did he like. "Why are you wasting your time with her?" One in particular said shooting a look in Ally's direction acting like she was not welcome there. Ally glared daggers back at the girl. She had a lot of nerve coming over, invading her table, then acting like Ally was encroaching on her space. Honestly all of them were starting to piss her off a bit. She liked it better when she was the only one who could see Akio...

When they had come over to their table akio showed just the slightest bit of annoyance but had remained polite and effective in working his way in with the crowd. Though 90% percent of the questions her answered were with lies he still seemed to be getting semi along with them. When one girl asked why he was wasting her time with Ally his face became hard. "Ally here is one of my best friends and if you dont like her being here or are being discomforted by her presence you can leave now." The girl looked shocked, Akio had taken a harsh tone that almost seemed to crush her spirit and while she did not leave she became quite moopy, akio proceeded to make her trade seat with Ally to make up for her rudeness and most of the others at the table suddenly became very careful about their words to Ally. Some even started talking to her to get on akio's good side, a few even found they didnt exactly hate talking to her ethier.

Ally felt slightly better when the dark haired boy stuck up for her making the girl switch seats with her. She still however did not like the girl or any of the others for that matter. She talked to them to be polite but she knew they were only doing it to please Akio. None of them really wanted to be her friend if Akio handn't shown up that day they would have pretended like she didn't exist. "You didn't have to do that" She said to him in a hushed tone as she peeked over at him. Before she could say anything else the girls were again bombarding him with more question which Ally knew he would only answer with more lies. Soon lunch was over and the rest of the day went on in much of the same way. She went to her classes like usual, he followed her and was swarmed by more people, and she did her best to ignore them. It wasn't until school had ended and they were walking back to her house that they had a moment alone, and even then she half expected to turn around and find a few girls following behind them.

When she had told him it was unnecessary he just threw her a wink and starting talking again. When the exited the school akio seemed to deflate and sigh. "Jesus that was exhausting. Those girls are more active then any reaper ive ever met and we dont sleep, how do you humans expect me to answer when you all talk to me at once." He said in seemingly dismay of your species.

Ally smirked slightly amused by his dismay. "I know it must be awful to have girls throwing themselves at you all the time" She said sarcastically. "And don't pretend like you didn't enjoy it" She said calling him out. She knew quite well that he liked the attention even if he pretended to be annoyed. She didn't feel bad for him in the slightest bit, if anything she was a little angry for having to put up with him and his fan club the whole day. She almost like it better when she was alone all day, except for the part where she got pushed around. She had to admit it was nice having people not bother her for a whole day.

"I enjoy attention sure but the constant chatter makes it hard to think up of a lie." He said with a shrug. "I almost said the real story several times just to get them off my case." "I just hope they dont do that every day, being noticed is nice but for only so long." He said with a sigh as he looked at her. "Next time we buy lunch out."

Ally laughed softly and said "Don't worry they'll probably get tired of you after a week and go harrass someone else" at least she hoped they did. being alone now she became happier and more talkative. She hated beign surrounded by people, it made her uncomfortable so would go quiet. "Okay getting lunch out sounds good to me" She agreed. As they reached the front steps to her house she slowed and looked over at him. "Ok stay here and be quiet" She nerly whispered before opening the front door and yelling for her mother. When she was met with silence she tunred back to look at Akio and waved him in since the coast seemed to be clear. She was sure her mother was at work and would not be home until later that night but she wanted to stay on the safe side.

While she went inside and he waited outdoors he sat in the bushes thinking. It was strange, he expected to be attacked by now but he had seen nothing unusual. He scanned the front yard like he almost expected something to sleep out of the grass, the silence made him edgy. He concentrated looking for signs of a threat, then suddenly he felt a ripple in the normal flow, a reaper had entered the human world. He got up quickly and walked inside. "Well the first of our hunters have arrived."

Ally was working on slipping of her shoes and setting her backpack down when Akio entered. "What do you mean?" She said looking around the room but not seeing anything. She turned to face him a confused and concerned expression on her face, waiting for him to explain. She then cautiously began to look around the rest of her house, still everything seemed normal. Just becuase she couldn't see anything though didn't mean she didn't believe him. She was on full alert as she waited for something to happen.

"I felt a reaper enter this space, it wont reach us for some time and it doesent seem to be in a hurry so we dont have to really hurry. With reapers lack of a sense of time and me hiding us it will be a few days till they find us yet." he said looking off in the east. "I dont recognize the aura so its not someone i know."

Relaxing Ally nodded. "Oh Okay.. so we're ok for now?" She said wanting conformation that something would not come swooping out of no where and try to kill her in the next few minutes. Walking back towards him she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back against a wall. "So what do you want to do? Both my parents are going to be at work until late, so we have the house to ourselves" She explained to him.

"Ya were ok, if he wasent taking his sweet time id meet him and keep you out of this fight all together." He said thinking. He was silent for a few moments thinking. When she asked him what he wanted to do he shrugged. "I dont know, ive never been human before. What do humans do?"

Ally shrugged "I don't know.. lots of things. You've been watching me long enough that you should know the kinds of thing I do" She said teasingly. It was kind of strange to think he had been watching her her entire life without her knowing it. "I'm going to make tea while you think about what you want to do." She said and walked off into the kitchen, getting out a pot of water and setting it on the stove. She leaned against one of the counters as she waited for the water to boil.

"I may have been watching you but most the time i was confused as to what you are doing. You could watched a ships captain for hours running a ship but if you never ask questions you'd have no idea what he was doing ethier." He said looking around. He followed her into the kitchen and saw her boiling water. "Ah ive seen you make tea before, perhaps we could cook something, that involves boiling water too if i remember right."

Ally laughed softly "Well I didn't being human would illude you so much after watching me. It's not quite as complicated to figure out as sailing a ship " She teased as she looked back at him as he entered the kitchen. "You want to cook something?" She asked tilting her head to the side. "Cooking only involved boiling water sometimes, it depends on what you're cooking" She explained to him and looked back at her pot that was just starting to boil. "Do you want tea?" She asked as she went to get the tea bags and tea cups.

"Umm sure." He said still mystified on the process of cooking. "But why would one meal require water but not the other?" He said thinking about it, it seemed strange that one would repuire water but another wouldnt. "I read from a book once that almost all things already contain water, is that why?"

Ally hummed for a moment trying to think of the right way to explain it to him. "Well some things just don't need water because if you used water they'd get all wet and gross like bread" She said placing a tea bag in each of the cups and puring water in over top. "Yeah that's part of the reason I guess. It's hard to explain" She sighed and handed one of the cups to him "Here I don't know how you like it. There's milk and sugar if you want it" She said and went to get the milk and sugar putting both in her own cup of tea.

He looked a bit suspiciously at the tea before taking a sip. His eyes lit up slightly and he drunk the rest rather quickly. "Hmm not bad, a bit hot though for once of the first things ive ever drunk or eaten." Death gods didnt eat or sleep, they really only did their jobs or during free time talked with each other and trained.
