I loathe seeing realistic and anime faceclaims. It gets on my last nerve!
Exactly the only time I'll allow it is if you're doing some kind of Roger Rabbit esque plot where there are supposed to be literal sentient cartoon characters moving in the same reality as real humans.
I mean the story might not be my cup of tea because there's not a lot I'd be interested in with that setup. But at least the visual separation wouldn't bother me so much.
I tell my partners all the time. I don't care what we use ( you want to hand draw color coded stick figures I'm down ) just they all have to be the same or at least very similar or else it breaks my immersion.
Like you can't have some super pixelated generic anime girl alongside a photorealistic image of another character. It doesn't matter if they're both "drawn" the styles are so dissimilar it bugs me.
Honestly I usually just do written descriptions and maybe a dollmaker for an outfit because I suck at describing clothes.
This way you can imagine my character in whatever style you want.
