These Four Walls

Sam didn't hear his sister, and instead glared at Jackson. "Give me the drugs, you piece of trash," Jackson declares again.

"No." Sam says confidently, clenching his teeth and tightening the grip on his bag. He needed the drugs to get money, he ran a business from this and he wasn't about to go and give them away to some school bully.

Jackson raises his eyebrows, "What did you just say?" He takes a step towards Sam, who gulped, and began to realise that he should have probably just handed them over.

"I said... No."

Jackson cracked his knuckles, before sending the first punch in Sam's direction, hitting him in the stomach and sending him to his knees.

"Stop!", Evie immediately shouted, making all heads turn to her.

She shoved the people aside as she walked to Jackson. She pushed him, even though it did little to make him even budge.

"Stop. Picking. On. People", she gritted out, glaring him in the eye. "Get lost."

Jackson laughed mockingly. "Oh look who came to save the feeble old brother. You think you can make me go away?"

"Unless you want me giving the principal something to complain to your parents for the third time this month, effectively resulting in a school suspension, then yes", Evie replied with a bold exterior. From inside, she was expecting a punch right to her face.

Sam stood up, taking a deep breath. "We can't go to the principle about this," he says to Evie, "Or I'll get in trouble too. There's only one way to settle it, really." He says, glaring at Jackson.

"Aw... Poor sister didn't think about you and your little drug stash." Jackson says, a grin spreading on his face, "Or didn't she even know?" Jackson started to laugh, looking out at the crowd as though he was an entertainer at a play.

Cracking his knuckles, Sam lunged, hitting Jackson right in the face, in the mouth, he hit him again with his other hand, in the stomach, which led to a full fight ensuing right before his sisters eyes, hitting and kicking, it was Jackson who won, laughing like a moron and grabbing Sam's bag, he emptied the contents of it out onto the floor and took the large drug stash from him, "I'll be taking these."

As Jackson walked away, Sam laid on the floor, and he could taste the blood in his mouth, "I hope you overdose on them!" He calls, before sitting up and spitting blood out onto the floor.

"Was that..... drugs!?", she asked with a disgusted look.

Evie couldn't believe her eyes. Her brother. The fight. The white stuff, drugs.

"Oh god. No way!", she kept exclaiming, then she looked at her brother. "Sam! Drugs!? Why? When? I thought you were better than that Jackson!"

She shook her head disappointedly and started walking away.

Sam pushed himself to his feet, then stooped down and pushed all his bag contents back into his actual bag, before standing and hurriedly running after his sister. "Evie!" He calls, then grabs her arm and turns her around to face him.

"Let me explain!" He says, feeling slightly more lively after the action of the fight, his hangover almost none existent now. "I don't take them, alright?" He says, lying a little. It was true he didn't take those drugs (anymore), but he did take others. "I just sell them. How do you think I'm able to pay you off each time I get a hangover?" He says, raising his eyebrows slightly.

"Pocket money? Like all the normal older brothers do?", she replied in a sarcastic tone, raising an eyebrow.

The minor acts of rebellion were fine to deal with. But drugs? That's a whole another level of bad.

"How did you- When did you start this?", she asked.

"I- That doesn't matter!" He says, looking at her and narrowing his eyes. "How much do I have to give you to make you keep quiet, and not tell mom or dad?" He asks her, tightening his grip on her arm.

A teacher walked past them, their eyebrows raised, and Sam let go of her arm while licking his lips awkwardly. He didn't want to be yelled at for bullying his sister. He could feel a bruise forming on his eye and he sighed, knowing that he'd have to explain it to his parents.

Evie rubbed her arm on the spot where he gripped it tightly. She glared at him.

"This is really serious, Sam. And I'm not going to be a tattletale about this one. You have to tell them yourself. I'll make you tell them yourself. Now if you excuse me, I need to use my ability of being sensible, unlike you, and study in class. Nerds are the new cool now."

With that, she walked off in the direction of her classroom.

He watched her go, not being able to help himself from wondering how she would force him to tell them. He wasn't too worried, though, and decided he'd just lie if it came down to it. He looked around, then sighed. Fuck school.

He walks out of the school, deciding that he'd go and find Ethan, and spend the day with him. His friend Ethan wasn't in school, or well, he didn't go to it, and he always had something to drink. Maybe that would permanently get rid of his hangover.

"So.....", Chloe trailed off.

Evie raised an eyebrow at her. "So?"

"Look, I had left you there because I thought maybe you needed a little brother-sister time", Chloe said, resting her elbows on the table and leaning forward. "But now I need the details of what happened over there. C'mon, I'm listening."

Evie looked into her friend's eager eyes and sighed. One trait about Chloe is that she was a major gossip girl, especially when it comes to someone she hates. And Sam was near the top on that list.

"He drank again. He was having a hangover, got irritated by Jackson and that's how the fight happened."

It wasn't a lie. Although it wasn't what Chloe had asked to hear.

Sam walked to Ethan's, his bag hitting his leg with every step that he took. He walked as fast as he could, and turned left when he got to Ethan's run down old house. Ethan lived on the outskirts of town, and he was sort of the town joke, he lived alone with his mother, who was also a prostitute, coincidentally. Their entire family was just a joke, and his parents would kill him if they found out that he was hanging around there.

He pushed open the front door, presuming that he was home. He walked straight into Ethan's mom. "Oh! Sorry!" He apologises, she smiles at him and tells him that Ethan was upstairs, before leaving through the front door. Sam heads upstairs eagerly, and walks into Ethan's room. Sam grins and walks over to Ethan, who already had a few friends sat around in a circle, they were passing around a joint.

Evie pulled her hairtie out, letting her hair loose, before tying it again more securely. She looked at her bored reflection and tried out different expressions in the mirror to see what would make her look more attentive. She liked studying, but hated lectures.

Just then a stall door opened and she immediately put on a poker face. A blonde came out of the stall, noticed her and smiled. Evie had to smile back.

The blonde stood infront of the mirror and started checking her makeup. "You're Eve, right?", she asked, looking at her reflection in the mirror.

Evie gave her a tight smile. "Evangeline, yes."

The blonde just continued,"Yeah, okay, anyways, where's Sam? Sick?"

"No, he's probably in one of his classes", Evie replied, shrugging.

The blonde turned around to face her. "Well he was my partner in Chemistry but he didn't come. In fact, he didn't come for any classes today apparently. I thought he hurt himself in that fight and went home", she told Evie.

But he was well enough to attend the classes when Evie last saw him. Where was he?

Sam had spent the day laying on Ethan's bed, on his back. The other people and he were smoking god knows what, and Sam had a massive grin on his face. He pushed hair out of his eyes as he sat up, checking the time on his watch. He didn't have to be back yet, did he? He could have a few more minutes. Hours. The joint is passed to him, and he takes a drag before passing if back to someone else.

They didn't talk much. They never did, and when they did it didn't make sense. Sam never made sense when he was high.

Evie paced back and forth while Chloe sat on one of the chairs in the first row, looking at her friend.

"Ethan", she started for the fifth time that day. "He's the one corrupting my brother, I'm telling you!"

Chloe sighed from the first row." Yes, you've probably told me that 50 times today", she drawled lazily

"That's too much of an exxageration1", Evie replied, glaring at her friend. "Now give me ideas. What can we do?"

Sam finally excused himself, he had to leave, or at least walk around enough so that he wouldn't smell of pot when he got home. He hoped his parents weren't in, it would make things a lot easier for him.

Sam walked down the street, his hands in his pockets and his eyes on the ground as he walked. 'School should be finishing soon,' he thinks to himself with a smile on his face. He didn't know why he was smiling, but he just was. As he walked, a car pulled up behind him, and Sam looked at it, curiously.

"You need a ride?" The man in the car asked him, rolling down the window. There was another man in the drivers seat, sunglasses on even though it wasn't particularly sunny.

(You can't possibly be getting kidnapped...)

"Hey! Cole!"

A guy with heavy build and messy brown hair turned around and grinned. "Yo! Evie! How's you?"

Evie couldn't help but smile. The guy was sweet, charming and had been her crush for four years straight. But this wasn't the time to blush.

"Have you seen Sam?", she asked.

"He must be here somewhe-Oh, he wasn't there in physics today! I thought he got sick or something", he replied, frowning.

Evie thought about calling home to check but if he wasn't there, her mother would be worried after talking to her and she didn't want that.

"Hey, you know where Ethan lives, right?", she asked him, to which he grimaced and nodded in reply. Sam and Cole were best friends before he had met Ethan.

Then he widened his eyes. "Do you think Sam's with Ethan?"

Evie sighed and replied," I'm sure about it."

"Hold on", he said, taking out his phone. "I'll just send Amy a message and then we'll go look for him."

Amy was his girlfriend of one year. They were the definition of a perfect couple. Evie didn't want to admit but she always got very jealous when they so much as talked about each other.

"I would've rejected that offer, being the kind person I am, but I'm very desperate right now", she said with a frown.

(He isn't being kidnapped, no, don't worry xD )

Sam looked at the car again, suspiciously. "No, no I'll be fine thanks." He said, looking at the car before turning his head and beginning to walk off. The car followed him down the street slowly, creepily. Sam turns, "Can you stop following me?" He demands, anger clear on his face.

That's when the guy got out of the car, out of the back. He slid open the door, and Sam stepped back, until the man charged for him, his arms going around Sam's waist, a hand over his mouth as he pulled him backwards and into the vehicle.

When the door slammed closed, the man let go of his mouth, and Sam started yelling.

"What the fuck man? Let me out!" He scrambled over to the door and began to bang on it, desperately.

(Well, we could time skip to later that evening, like maybe 9:30 at night, and Evie could be very worried, and thats when theres a knock at the door, and the police have found Sam (he isn't dead but more detail later) heh? :3)

(Oh oh ok)

Evie paced back and forth anxiously, glancing at the door every few seconds.

"You told us yourself that there was nothing to worry about", her mother commented from across the room, frowning at her. "Tell me the truth, Evie. Where is he? Was he with that rotten boy again?"

"Mom, he's with Cole", Evie lied. "You asked him yourself."

Thankfully, Cole had agreed to lie about this. This officially made him the perfect guy to Evie. He had even driven all around the town to look for Sam that day but they didn't find him anywhere. Although it was proved that Sam had been with Ethan as the latter just smirked when Evie had asked him where Sam was.

Just as her mother's mouth opened to speak, their doorbell rang. Evie hurried to open the door.

The policeman stood at the door, and when Evie opened it they raised their eyebrows. "Excuse me miss, do you happen to have a parent at home who we can speak to?"

The policeman looked friendly enough, sort of chubby with a pleasant smile on his face, a bald and shiny head. "It's just that, well we're supposed to talk to the parents."

Evie stared at him with wide eyes, and then her gaze travelled to the miserable-looking Sam behind him. She peeked at her unaware mother and leaned in to the policeman.

"What did he do, Officer?", she whispered.

The police officer narrows his eyes. "That's really not your business miss and I think you know what. I'd like to speak to a parent now please."

Sam was looking down at the floor, hugging himself and keeping his eyes away from Evie.

(Now I remember! The Glade is from the maze runner, right? Are you literally trying to be Newt? xD )

Evie glared at the police officer. "Rude", she muttered to herself and called her mother to come.

This is it. Sam was going to get what was coming and this time, his little sister won't be able to defend him.

(Newt is just my favourite character, and TBS is my favourite actor xD I've recently become obsessed with the books and so I changed my thing to the glade xD )

Their father walks into the room and eyes the police officer, he walks over to the door and leans against it. "What happened, is he okay?!" he asks, looking at Sam, he sees how he was avoiding eye contact and narrows his eyes. "What did he do?!"

The police officer looks from him to the boy and sighs, "do you mind if I come in and tell you inside?"

Their father nods and lets him in, shutting the door behind them. Sam stands next to the police officer, his hands in his pockets. He felt sick.

"We came across your son, and, to put this simply, found that he's under the influence of illegal drugs." The man says simply, and their father gasps, anger clear on his face. "Marie!" he calls.

(Would you mind being Michael here? :) )
