Isn't setting fire to unknown substances dangerous though? ;A; the chemicals could get infused into the smoke.

Unless this is a plague body, then burning stops the spreading . . . of a typical plague body, this one is different so the properties of it only able to spread through living bodies might not apply.

Actually can the Carnival Cultist disease spread through dead bodies or does the body have to be alive to carry it?

Yes it is. And you're right, it can ever spread further than the living, thus why even Bella is at risk. Of course who it affects each race is far different, that doesn't stop it from moving from one person to the next. No one has immunity, not even the dead.
