The War (DergTheDergon x Myla)

Sasha nodded as Dexter told her his game plan, following him dutifully the moment that he kept going. She kept her gun trained in the direction of the enemy soliders, but was only albe to down the one that shot dexter after his bullet grazed his arm. Looking into his eyes with concern, Sasha ducked down with Dexter and wtached as he began to clean his wound. Before she could take her first aid kit out and help him, he noticed the nearby body. His uniform signified a high ranking officer. Sasha was confused as to why he seemed so interested in finding out who this unfortunate man was, until he uttered the words "That was dad's best friend."

The more Dexter spoke, explaining who this man was, the more Sasha felt for him. He obviously had loved General McCallen very much, and she knew all too well what it was like to lose a friend. Sasha came up to Dexter's side, her eyes tearing up just as his were, and gently taking his hand without thinking about it. ""I'm so sorry for your loss Dex, I'm sure he was a wonderful man... just so you know, I'm not going anywhere." She smiled, just a little bit, a little proud of herself for going out and saying that when Dexter really seemed to need it.

Dexter hugs Sasha against his chest, ignoring the sharp pain in his shoulder from the sudden movement. Burying his face in her hair, Dexter voice becomes a bit muffled as he talks, "You better not... I-I need you." At that moment, Dexter silently let's out a few tears clinging onto her. The only sign that Dexter gives off that he's crying is the wet tears against Sasha. Dexter rarely cries, but seeing Stanley dead like that, broke something inside him. Dexter talks hoarsely, "Stanley didn't deserve that...." Suddenly, Dexter lifts up his head and looks at Sasha with tears running down his cheeks, "I'm not gonna let anything happen to you. I couldn't protect Stanley, but I could definitely protect you with my life." Without thinking about it, Dexter softly kisses Sasha, but then realizes what he's done and waits for her reaction a bit nervous.

Sasha wraps her arms around Dexter's back passionately, holding im close and beginning to feel his comforting warmth seeping through her clothing,warming her body up.She begins to feel a slight wetness in her hair and realized that Dexter, who rarely shows emotion at all, was crying.. Tears welled in her own eyes, understanding how heartbroken he must feel. She stood ther, motionless and silent, simply allowing him to be close to her in his time of need. She nods lightly towards Dexter as she looked into his tear-filled eyes, her heart swelling with a warm feeling of affection as he said he'd never let anything happen to her.

The next thing Sasha knew, Dexter moved closer and kissed her right on the lips, causing her eyes to widen in surprise.The kiss ended abruptly, Dexter pulling away seeming to be afraid that his sudden gesture had upset her. Far from it... her heart was pounding, her mouth feeling dry as if only his lips could satisfy her thirst right now. Sasha simply closed her eyes and kissed his lips deeply, sinking into the moment and all but forgetting about all the death and pain and fighting she's seen for as long as thier first kiss lasted. She pulled back after a little while, looking into his eyes lovingly. She then hugged him again, resting her head against him again and whispering "that was my first kiss..." despite the situation, she had a slight smile on her face.

@Myla

Dexter kissed her back with a pounding heart and pink ears. He was surprised when she willingly kissed her back, but glad nonetheless. Wrapping his arms around her hugging her back, Dexter whisper back, "And hopefully not the last from me." Dexter was torn between feeling a happy buzz from their kiss or being sadden about his friend. Burying his face against her hair once, he momentarily decides not to focus on Stanley for now. He stays hugging her for a few seconds longer while stroking her hair softly having their first kiss in his mind. Usually he wasn't the sentimental type, but definitely didn't mind being that type around Sasha.

Dexter sighs, "As much as I love being like this with you, we need to get going. We need to find a safe spot for the night to sleep in without the enemies stumbling upon us." He lets go of her kissing her head, but holds out his hand, "Ready to go, love?"

Sasha felt her heart swelling as Dexter wrapped his arms around her. "It better not be the last," she replied, standing there in his arms and feeling like she was inside a different world where just Dexter and her existed, and thier feelings for each other create all the things around them. Slowly coming down off her buzz from his kiss, she felt a little anxious and upset when Dexter suddenly let go over her, but found herself smiling and blshing lightly at his words. "Yeah. Let's get out of here." It would take a while for her to get used to be called "love" by the usually not sentimental Dexter, but she really enjoyed it. She kept holding onto his hand and they looked for a place to rest for the night ,the sun almost fully set already.

As they kept walking, Dexter mentions, "We should find a place that has water so I could clean up my wound and rinse the blood out of my shirt to hang up to dry so I could wear it again for now. I didn't exactly have time to bring my bag so tomorrow, if we stumble across an old house or shelter, we should look through it to find some things we need." About 20 minutes later, they stumble across a small stream and what looks to be an old horse stable. About a 100 feet away, was a spot that completely looked as if it was burnt to the ground and all that was left of it was rumble and black ashes. Dexter points at the stable, "Maybe we could sleep in there, bit be care fully wheh we enter, we don know if sone one is in there." Dexter goes in first still having his knife from earlier. The place appeared to be empty. There were no animals nor people in it, but Dexter wasn't quite sure since he couldn't see well. The only light source there was the light coming from the moon. Finding some old matches, Dexter lights two sticks with it handing one to Sasha giving them some light. There was 4 stalls, so Dexter picked out the cleanest one, "We could put some of the hay there and sleep on that instead of the ground." Grabbing some of the hay stacks, Dexter arranges them to where they make a make-shift bed big enough to fit both of them. Dexter looks around again and funds some old raggedy horse blanket that looked cleaned enough to use. He bunched two of them up to make some pillows, laid one down on the hay so it doesn't poke them at night and put another one on top to cover them, "I think that's good."

Sasha looked up at Dexter's face as they walked, thinking over his words then nodding. "Sounds like a plan. Myself I don't have anything but that uniform and those clothes you lent me... come to think of it it's probably best I take the uniform off again..." Sasha looked down for a moment, taking a deep breath then refocusing on the task of finding a place to stay the night. They walked for a little while longer, the trip mostly silent as they enjoyed each other's company, until they came upon a little stream and an old abandoned stable. Noticing the completely ruined nearby building, Sasha shook her head. "Damn... looks like it got hit by artillery fire, or a tank shell maybe... didn't stand a chance."

Snooping around the stable with Dexter, makeshift torch in hand, Sasha helped him find a stop for thier makeshift bed and helped him make it up. Looking down and what they had made Sasha shrugged. "well, it'll have to do." She stretched got out other uniform and into the more comfortable clothes Dexter loaned her, climbed in and waited for Dexter to lay down beside her. Once her did, she found herself staring into his eyes lovingly for a moment, before kissing him softly and resting her head against his chest. "Goodnight, Dex," she said softly. She fell asleep after an hour or so of lying awake.

Dexter goes outside for a second near the stream, "I'll be back." Going out near the stream, Dexter sits next to the water. He unties the shirt from his wound wincing slightly. The gash has stopped bleeding, but it has become a ugly site to look at since it just looked raw and burnt around the edges. Dexter cleans out his shirt the best could in the stream. He was able to take the dry blood out and the dirt, but it was impossible to take the stains out. Sighing, Dexter moves onto his wound and gets a bit of water cleaning off all the sweat and dry blood while wincing every once in a while. Drying it off and grabbing his wet shirt, he walks back to the stable. He lays his shirt out to dry and lays down next to Sasha. Dexter smiles at her wrapping his arms around her and looks back into her eyes, "Sweet dreams." Kissing back, he lays his head back on the makeshift pillow falling asleep with Sasha in his arms.

The morning light intruded upon Sasha's eyes, harshly shining right onto her face, all but forcing her eyelids open. Her annoyance at how she was woken quickly faded as she looked at Dexter's peaceful, still-sleeping face and smiled softly. She blushed a little as she looked over his bare chest, feeling it with her hands slightly. She was so tired she didn't have time to think about the fact that this was the first time she's ever touched a man's bare chest. She laid there for a short while, hoping he didn't have bad dreams after the unfortunate sight he saw back at the base. That was a horrifying experience for Sasha... here she thought she had found a safe place, and had forgotten the harsh reality of a war zone, that there are no safe places to be found, just long enough for it to sneak up on her then smack her right in the face. It did the same thing to Dexter, too... in a very personal way. Sasha was mentally preparing herself for Dexter being more solemn for quite a while after seeing a close friend die.

Now that Sasha thought about it, Dexter mentioned earlier that the man had family. A wife and a child, maybe? If they could both still be around Sasha would help him find them and break the news any way she could. They deserved to know, rather than be kept in the dark wondering where thier loved one had gone. Either way, they did need to get moving soon. Beyond that, Sasha didn't know what to do... for now, rejoining the army seemed like no longer an option. She'd ask Dexter when he woke, but for now she just laid there quietly, enjoying his closeness and warmth until he woke up on his own.

Dexter wakes up half asleep feeling Sasha's hands against his chest and instantly knew it was her. He stayed relaxed, but felt a bit sore on his shoulders and neck. He had bruises start to form, but Dexter wasn't too worried about them. He stayed relaxed for a few moments until his thoughts went back to Stanley. He laid his arm over his eyes silently. It saddened him to think of his friend. Dexter wanted to shove his saddenness into a drawer and lock it up, but found it impossible to do so. Eventually, Dexter mumbled, "We need to find Vanessa, Mikey and Lily. Vanessa was his wife, Mikey was his 5 year old son, and Lily, was his 3 month old baby... I'm not looking forward to telling Vanessa that Stanley is dead." Dexter says softly as his voice cracks, "I-I don't know if I could do it." His eyes becomes filled with unshed tears and whispers, "I can't make her a widow and a single mom... I-I can't do it..."

Sasha notices Dexter's eyes opening and smiles to him, saying nothing. This was very a comfortable silence between them and Sasha had no intention of breaking it, and laying here with him was almost like continuing to pleasantly rest. She almost felt as if she could just lay here all night, until Dexter suddenly seemed to be struck by the sadness of his thoughts at least. With a sympathetic look in her eyes, Sasha gently laid her hand on his chest as he spoke, looking into his eyes lovingly as he spoke his pained words.

"Dex..." Sasha began, tears welling in her own eyes, "I understand how you feel but she deserves to know... I'll be there when you find her, right by your side... she'll be sad for a while but she'll find out eventually wehter you tell her or not. The sooner she findds out, the more time she'll have to heal. I'll help you find them... we'll search for them right away, I owe you that much at least." Sasha leaned in to kiss him softly as if to finalize this promise to him.

Dexter nods, "I know where she lives, Vanessa lives all the way in Sumter and judging by the fact that we're surrounded by open field and horses, I think we might be in Maplewood. They been living in the same house ever since they got married for about 10 or so years. By car, she lives 3 hours away, but by foot it is going to be a long walk. Maybe since this is a stable, there's horses around or a beat up tractor or maybe an old car if we get lucky. If not, we'll keep walking until we find something." His wipes his eyes and looks at the sunshine, "Hopefully the weather doesn't change soon, we don't exactly have a change of clothes or an umbrella." He strokes her hair subconsciously and looks around, "Maybe if we look around before we leave, we'll find something useful?" He lay there with her leaning her head against his chest and sighs trying to relax, but still feels tense and sad. After a few minutes, Dexter gently takes her head off her chest and sits up, "We need to get going soon, we can't stay here for long."

Sasha listens as Dexter tells her about the journey ahead, taking his hand, nodding every once in a while, and offering the occasional few words of encouragement. "Yes... we'll probably find something around here," she said, still laying her head on his chest, managing to stay calm for him despite all the anxious thoughts clouding her head. She could tell that he was still feeling very off today, and she hoped that at least it didn't get in the way of fighting if they needed to do so, or any other general survival task on thier way. Sasha sits up with him, nodding and feeling his cheek. "I agree.... let's look around for something to make the journey a bit less tedious first." After searching around the barn for a while, Sasha spotted a car parked her a small ruined house at the end of the field. "Hey, Dex!" She called to him. "We might've found gold over here." Not literal gold of course, but perhaps the fastest way to get to where they needed to go, if Dexter could get it working and it didn't break down last the last one. "Think this one'll run, Dex?" She asked once they were close. It didn't look any more beat up than that old jeep they were driving before, but that wasn't saying much. This was just your standard four-door compact car, not much special about it. If they could get this working it could save them a lot of time, and they could get rid of this bringer of bad news business quicker that way. "I just hope this one lasts longer than the last," Sasha thought out loud. She stayed nearby looking out for enemies and giving Dexter moral support as he started hotwiring the car. In the distance gunshots could be heard... the faster they get out of this area the less chance they'll be caught up in that skirmish, and therefore the more chance they have of surviving.

Dexter goes to get his shirt that he cleaned off in the stream. It still had the blood stains, but at least it was clean. When Dexter hears her call him, he walks over to her as he puts on his shirt and nods agreeing, "Gold, indeed." The first thing he does is pop the trunk to make sure they don't have an accident similar to last time. He moves quickly not liking how close one could hear the gun shots. He closes the hood before he moves onto hot wiring the car, "This one should last longer, the engine isn't as burnt out as the last one was and it has a good amount of gas and oil in it." The car turns on and Dexter says, "Got it!" He opened the door quickly for Sasha and got into the driver's seat, "Hurry! They seem to be getting closer from the sounds of the gunshots. The quicker we get out of here, the better." Once Sasha get into the car, Dexter starts driving.

Sasha watches Dexter work curiously, anxiously glancing about every now and then for soldiers hidden in the trees. The gunshots were slowly sounding closer and closer the the entire time, and while Dexter was hot wiring the car Sasha found herself gripping the handle of her pistol tightly, ready to pull it out upon seeing enemy soldiers, looking all around. To her relief though, Sasha heard the car spring to life before she saw anything. The gunshots sounded quite close now though, so before Dexter even beckoned her into the car she was readying herself to jump right in. She got in carefully, a bit slower than the average person would in this situation because of her injured leg, but as quickly as she can manage. She held on to the handle on the ceiling of the car next to her seat as Dextertook off, looking towards her surroundings and seeing a few soldiers come into the clearing next to the stable just as Dexter drove out of it. She breathed sigh of relief. "Nice driving Dex, we might not have gotten away from that ifit wasn't for your fancy maneuvering, and your quick hot wiring job. I'll keep an eye out just in case more come for us though, let you know if we might need to take a detour or something." She leaned back into the chair, closing her eyes for a second. "Y'know Dex, you're a pretty amazing guy. I feel lucky having met you..." she said with a slight blush.

Dexter drives fast, but carefully. He was on high alert in case he saw any enemies. However, the moment Sasha complemented him the tips of his ears turned pink and he smiled softly, "Thank you, but I'm not that amazing. However, I'm just glad I don't have to be alone anymore." He holds her hand and kisses her knuckles softly, "I don't know what I would've done or how I would've dealt with stuff if you weren't here." With Sasha, Dexter was able to think through things a lot clearer and better. Not to mention that he trusted her more than anyone else and it would hurt to lose her. When she closes her eyes, Dexter suggests, " We have 3 hours or so before we arrive at Vanessa's house.If you're still tired, you could rest and I'll wake you up when we get there or if something happens. Just use my lap or shoulder if you need somewhere to lay your head on, I dont mind."

Sasha looks into Dexter's eyes and chuckles softly as he says that he wasn't all that amazing. Sasha certainly admired his humbleness but flet as though she neededto remind him how special he really was in her eyes... at least, when they weren't hail-tailing it from a battlefield. She found herself blushing at his next comment, her heart fluttering a bit as he took her hand and kissed it gently. "I don't know what I'd have done if you didn't come along either... except die. You're like... my guardian angel. I'll help you through everything, however I can... I promise you that."

As she started closing her eyes, leaning back into the chair, Dexter's offer made her blush a little before she nodded. "Thank you Dex... the more rest I get the faster my leg will heal... it's best for both of us if I take this time to rest." She gently laid her head upon his Shoulder, leaning against him and taking a deep breath before feeling herself drift off not too long after. It was so very comforting being so close to him.

Dexter wraps his arm around her as he stays driving. The closer they get the more nervous Dexter felt. He felt like he wasnt ready to tell Vanessa about Stanley quite, but he knew she deserved the truth. He also knew that hiding the truth wouldn't get him anywhere. When they're a few minutes away, Dexter gently wakes up Sasha, "Hey, love. Wake up, we're almost there." After a few momments, Dexter kept taping his fingers against the steering wheel nervous and let's out a worried sigh, "Damn, I'm nervous. I don't feel ready to do this." Dexter pulls up and parks in front of a two-story house. The house was painted a nicex grey color on the outside with white lining. The grass clean and cut evenly, but contained a bunch of toys spread across it. Vanassa's flowers were in full bloom and the porch was a dark brown color. Overall, the house was bueatiful due to Vanassa's consistent maintained of it. As Dexter sat for a few minutes in the car gathering his nervous there were some momment behind the window. Dexter looks at Sasha, "Let's go, love." As he gets out of the car, a small curly haired boy ran out of the house towards Dexter's legs yelling out Dexter's name. Dexter smiles picking the small boy up "Hey Mikey!" Soon a tall brunette that looked to be 15 years old than Dexter and Sasha came rushing out of the house sternly, "What on earth do you think you're-" Then she notices Dexter and Sasha, "Dexter! What on earth are you doing here? And whose that pretty young lady you brought along with you?" Dexter smiles ignoring the first question, "Hey, Mrs. Vannessa and the pretty girl is Sasha."

Sasha and Dexter were sitting across from each other on a picnic blanket, on the green fields of her home town underneath a large tree. Her home town had been destroyed ,but this is how she remembered it beforehand. Sasha peered beyond Dexter and her smile turned into a frown, she was reminded that this place had been devastated... but here, beside Dexter, everything was still as beautiful as she remembered. He was his her only salvation now, from the darkness and despair that threatened to overwhelm her.

Sasha was suddenly woken by hearing Dexter's voice on the edge of her dreams. Her eyes fluttering open, she barely understood his words and sleepily mumbled "okay, waking up..." She sat up, pulling her head off of Dexter's shoulder and stretching as much as the confines of the car would let her. Sasha then looked around, taking in her surroundings, a bit taken aback by now... not in ruins this area was. She hadn't seen a town untouched by the war for a while ,so this was certainly a nice change of scenery.

Looking towards Dexter, Sasha could immediately tell he was nervous, for very good reason. As he voiced as much, Sasha took his hand and gently squeezed it, her other hand rubbing the back of his neck a little. "I understand Dex... this is something no one can really ever be ready for.... but I'll be by your side when you break the news. You can do this... I know you can." She kissed his cheek softly. As they pulled up to the house, Sasha looked around at the yard and the house itself thoughtfully. It looked very well kept. She nodded as Dexter beckoned her to get out, blushing a little at the name "love." Once out of the car, she was surprised to see a boy running towards Dexter excitedly, calling his name. It seemed that like "Mikey" liked Dexter a lot... Dexter was probably very close with Stanley's family, hence his sense of duty to break to them the bad news.

Sasha's eyes widened as the woman, assumed to be Vanessa, rushed out. She seemed to be scolding her son for his own rushing out of the house, but then she noticed Dexter and instantly changed her tone. Sash smiled towards her, and blushed a bit when Vanessa asked Dexter "Who that pretty young lady" was. Her blush only deepened with her answer, looking down embarrassed for a moment , still holding Dexter's hand. "It's good to meet you, miss Vanessa." Sasha's grip on Dexter's hand tightened just a bit after introductions were over with, hoping to comfort Dexter for the news he would have to break to Vanessa soon.

@Myla

Vanessa smiles brightly hugging her, "It's nice to meet you too!" Noticing how dirty the two were, Vanessa says, "How about y'all come inside and you guys could borrow some clothes so, you could take a warm shower as well as make you guys some food and feed Lily whose bound to wake up soon. Dexter, you could borrow some of Stanley's clothes while Sasha could borrow mine. Stanley is suppose to come home tomorrow, so you'll see him then." Dexter face instantly becomes grim and Vanessa notices this becoming worried, "Is there something I should know?" Dexter nods, Vanessa says, "Shower and eat first and then we will talk."

She heads off inside as Dexter carries Mikey in his arms talking about race cars, "Dexter! I got a zillion new cars now! Mommy got found a race track for me!" Dexter hides his sadness and smiles him, "That's amazing, little man! How about if you eat you all your food, we could give those little cars a go tonight? How does that sound?" Mikey nods excitedly, "Deal!" Dexter chuckles as Vanessa comes back giving them some clothes, "Use the guest room and feel free to use anything in the room without my permission. I'm going to go could and take care of the kids." She takes Mikey, "Let's go get your sister and leave them to get cleaned up." Mikey nods as they walk towards the house, "Alright mommy." Dexter tugs on Sasha's hand lightly, "Lets go to our room."

Sasha glances solemnly between Vanessa and Dexter as the kindly woman notices Dexter's grim expression. It was clear she knew Dexter long enough to easily tell when something's bothering him. Sasha smiled and nodded towards Vanessa as she headed off inside, wating with Dexter quietly. She couldn't help but smile a little as she heard Mikey's precious young excitement about his cars, and Dexter's forced, yet almost natural-seeming enthusiasm in his repsonse. It was almost like putting on a mask and hiding his emotions was a piece for cake to him. At times that has made it hard for Sasha to communicate with him all that well, but at times like this it really seems to come in handy, to not worry a cheerful young child for example.

As Vanessa comes back, pointing them to the guest room and explaining everything, Sasha takes the clothes and smiles warmly. "Thank you, Ma'aam," Sasha replied courteously. Turning towards Dexter as he tugged on her hand, she nodded towards him, entering the house with him and following him silently to thier room whilst glancing about the house curiously. Once they got inside, Sasha shut the door behind her. Plopping down on the bed for a moment, she put her heavy backpack down and removed the gear she was wearing, sighing in relief as the weight literally fell off her shoulders. She then stood up quickly pulled her dirty shirt over her head, slipping out of the equally filthy pants she was wearing. Only then, standing there in only her bra and panties, did she realize that Dexter was still there. She didn't really feel embarrass about it, but he might. She just had to get out of those filthy clothes as soon as possible. She had learned to be comfortable with changing around other people in the military, men and women alike, and besides, they had both confessed love for each other so Sasha saw no need to hide her body from Dexter. After all, Sasha had a feeling he'd be seeing it all someday anyway. This thought made her blush, and she was grateful at that moment that she was facing away from Dexter.

Sasha laid back on the bed for a moment ,breathing another sigh of relief now that those filthy clothes were off of her. "much better." She closed her eyes for a bit. "Hey Dex, you can shower first if you want... I think I'm going to lay here for a while. I promise i won't fall asleep, I'm too starving for that I think." The smell of Vanessa's coking could already be smelled in this room. "Take your time by the way, I can take quick showers. Yeah, I know, unbelievable because I'm a woman, but the military never let me spend half an hour or more in there."

@Myla

As they get settled in the room, he sits on the bed taking off his shoes, "Its finally how the rest of the world seems to be covered in war zones, but this here has managed to survive without being touched." As Dexter was about to continue onto an explanation on why this has survived, he saw Sasha start to get undressed in front of him. He knew better than to keep looking and his mother would've scowled at him for not looking away like a gentleman, but Dexter couldn't look away. It was too hard to since he was attraced to her physically as well also mentally and emotionally. Dexter ear tips turned pink as he blushed, but he rubbed the back of his neck in an attempt to calm his body's excitement down as he thought to himself, Cold showe time. Thank god, she wasn't facing him or else he would feel a bit embarrassed. Dexter stuttered for a second when trying to talk, but then cleared his voice and continued on, "The only reason this place hasn't been found is because of its location. It takes too many twists and turns to figure out how to get here and it takes a while to memorize. The only way the enemy could find this here is by stumbling across it or someone becomes a mole, but I doubt that is going to happen since Stanley only hand picked a few people to be allowed to know how to get here."

When Dexter sees Sasha lay down his ears become pink again as he blushed seeing her, he kisses her head says, "Take a shower first. I know you been trained to take quick showers, but for once take a longer one. Trust me, it'll be worth it and it would relax you a lot more than taking a nap. It'll loosen your muscles and you'll feel a lot cleaner versus just spending a few minutes in there and coming out the shower feeling stiff. Besides, I'm pretty sure with all the walking and running around, the wound, carrying that heavy bag on your shoulders, walking around in dirty clothes and not to mention the stress we had to go through these past few days has been taking a toll on your body even if you like it or not and it should probably feel aching and sore. So, like l said, I think it would be better for you to go take a warm and long shower. Trust me, you'll feel 20 times better afterwards."

@DergTheDergon

Sasha listened to his explanation of why this place was untouched, finding it very interesting. "Huh, that makes sense... lucky for everyone living around here that it's so out of the way." After laying down on the bed, Sasha was momentarily startled as she felt Dexter lean over her, feeling his warmth breath on her skin before feeling him kiss her head. She opened her eyes quickly, looking into his. He'd certainly gotten her attention, and whilst she was expecting him to take a shower first she probably should've been expecting his long-winded, reassuring response, telling her to take a long shower for once. He definitely made it sound quite enticing. She found herself smiling up at him once he was done speaking, sitting up on the edge of he bed then standing up. "Alright, I'll humor you then. Thank's babe, you're always thinking of me and it's wonderful to think about." She kissed his cheek playfully, then all but ran into the bathroom with the clothes she borrowed from Vanessa, shut the door behind her, finished undressing and turned on the water, stepping into the shower. She giggled a bit thinking about how she called him "babe," just to see how he would react.

As she showered she found herself thinking about her feelings for Dexter. More specifically, how quickly they had come and how startlingly strong they already are. There was just so much that drew her to him. How kind, considerate and humble he is, his handsomeness of course, his many and varied skills, and of course the fact he saved her life. Sasha had never felt such a warmth in her heart simply thinking about another person before. She felt a goofy smile upon her face to the point that just by herself in the shower she felt embarrassed about it, immediately changing her expression. She spent a good half an hour or so in there, and as she was finally drying off she thought, 'Dex was right, I needed that.'

Coming out of the bathroom, she walked up to Dexter, gave him a quick and sudden kiss on the lips and said, "your turn... god I needed that. You were right," with a teasing smile. She found herself smiling a lot around him, which she supposed was only natural with her rapidly deepening feelings for him. She sat down on the side of the bed and waited for him to go in there, watching his reaction to her sudden actions and words with a smile. Being bold around himlike this just... came naturally to her.

Dexter looks surprised at Sasha's sudden behavior not expecting that from her. It wasn't a bad thing, he actually liked the way she called him babe and how she was suddenly more relaxed around him. For once, she caught him off guard and couldn't help, but give her an amused smile, as she ran off into the bathroom. It's funny how one girl could get him to smile when before he even met her, one was lucky to see him talk. To say he loved her was an understatement.

As Dexter waited for Sasha to come out the shower, he took that chance to lay back on the bed and to close his eyes so he could relax and let his thoughts run wild. He wondered about everything. About what life would be like if the war didn't exist, what they would do once the war is over, how long before all the towns and cities would be repaired... He couldn't help, but think about all of that. As Sasha came out of the shower, Dexter smiled at her, "I told you so." He became surprised again when she kissed him and without thinking he pulled her into his lap wrapping his arms around her, "I'm curious about something.. If there wasn't a war, what would you imagine yourself doing? Or better yet, what would you do after the war is over?"

It was Sasha's turn to be surprised as Dexter suddenly pulled her down into his lap, his arms wrapping around her back and her heartbeat speeding up as she suddenly was pressed against his chest. She wrapped her arms around his back once the initial surprise had faded, rleaxing in his arms and laying her head on his shoulder. His question was rather surprising as well. She thought aboutit for a short while in silence before speaking. "Well, of course I've thought about it.. every soldier has I'd bet... but the thing is I've never come up with any real details about it. I do know ideally, I'd like to move to somewhere peaceful or exotic, get a fresh start on life away from the warzones I fought in, live a quiet and laid back life, with a not very stressful job after being in the military for so long. It'd be nice.... but y'know, thinking about it now... I'm not sure I have much of a preference anymore. I think I'd be happy anywherre, doing anything after the war... as long as it's with you, Dex." Sasha wrapped her arms a bit tighter around his back as if to add weight to her already heartfelt words.
