Sei Teshima, Squad 5
Cautiously, Sei crossed to the tree and pulled the note down. She read over it again, taking note of their sensei's tone and word choice. They describe it as a game and make a joke about their sensei. . . so whoever this is, they're playful. The tone is more formal so it's not likely to be a really young jounin; unless they're trying to hide their age. And the instructions. . . She frowned as she read over them again. It's like a riddle but we have to do things before we can figure it out.
She turned to her teammates. "It doesn't sound too hard. Get the lit candles from here to the ruins." Picking up the pouch and candles, she offered them to her teammates. "We should come up with a strategy for dealing with whatever they have planned for us. These lines about meeting people who'll try to trade for our candles or whatever's supposed to be chasing us." Her mind was racing. She was nervous and it was making her talk too much. Come on. You won't be able to pass this test if you're a nervous wreck. Just follow these instructions and rely on your teammates and you'll be perfectly fine. Hopefully.
The trees that lined the path creaked a little. Sei frowned. It wasn't a frightening path, but something about it felt . . . off. "We should get going. The rules say not to stay in one place too long."
